Robert D. Arne
Funeral services for Robert D Arne, 65, Lisbon, N.D., were held on Saturday, October 14, 2000, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lisbon, N.D. Reverend Norman Anderson and Reverend Dave Killeen officiated. Mr. Arne died Wednesday, October 11, 2000 at the N.D. Veterans Home, Lisbon N.D.
Robert D. Arne, son of Clarence P. and Alma H. (Sunby) Arne was born on December 22, 1934, Fargo, N.D. He attended school in rural Lisbon and Lisbon High School. He served in the US Air Force from 1954-1958. He married Barbara Hudson, March 25, 1962, at Englevale, N.D.
On June 1, 1968, he married Maryann Chesley in Cut Bank, Mont. Robert worked for area farmers for several years. He moved to Billings, Mont. where he lived until returning to Lisbon in 1972. In 1975 he began working at Melroe Mfg. He retired March 1, 1995. He was a member of the Lisbon Eagles.
He is survived by two sons; Douglas Arne, Valley Springs, S.D. and Ivan Arne, Billings, Mont.; one daughter, Vicki (Jack) Maki, Billings, Mont.; One step-daughter, Brenda Grace, Sioux Falls, S.D.; and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers for the funeral were Dennis Babcock, Dennis Reinke, Donald Vosburg, Timothy Arne, Michael Arne, Darrell Arne.
Music was provided by organist Jan Hansen and soloist Joan Montgomery.
Interment at Oakwood, Lisbon, N.D.
Armstrong Funeral Home, Lisbon, N.D. was in charge of arrangements.

Russell D. Fredrickson
Private family services for Russell D. Fredrickson, 86, Hunter, N.D., were held. Mr. Fredrickson, died Tuesday, October 10, 2000, in Fargo, N.D.
Russell D. Fredrickson, was born on December 28, 1913, in Roseau, Minn.
On June 27, 1936, he married Geraldine Ann Clapp, in Hallock, Minn. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1944 to 1945 and participated in Ryukyus Island battles. He worked in the banking industry in Adams, N.D., and at Security State Bank, Hunter, N.D.
He is survived by a son, F. Douglas, Lisbon, N.D.; a daughter, Sharon Joy Burley, Fargo, N.D.; a brother, Roland (Carol), Roseau; a sister, Betty Knudsen, Roseau; twelve grandchildren ; and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Geraldine Ann.

June Gauche
A family service was held for June Gauche, 79, Mercer Island, Wash. Mrs. Gauche died Saturday, October 14, 2000, at Issaquah, Wash.
June Gauche, daughter of Dan and Josie Liane was born on June 10, 1921 in Lisbon, N.D. She attended Lisbon High School and attended Concordia College.
On July 18, 1943, she married Rod Gauche, in the chapel at Saint James Cathedral, Seattle. The family moved to Mercer Island, Wash. in 1972.
She is survived by her husband Rod; three sons, Jon, Paul, and Tom; two daughters, Lynn and Jean; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Flintofts Issaquah Funeral Home, was in charge of arrangements.

Sonja Gulleson
Funeral services for Sonja Gulleson, 55, Rutland, N.D., were held on Saturday, October 14, 2000, at Nordland Lutheran Church, Rutland, N.D. Reverend David Andrews officiated. Mrs. Gulleson died Wednesday, October 11, 2000, at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, N.D.
Sonja Gulleson, daughter of Joe and Selma (Mathieson) Engerholm was born on June 18, 1945, at Wahpeton, N.D. She attended school in Milnor and then attended Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn., and also a Business College, Fargo, N.D. Sonja worked for Ottertail Power Company in Oakes, N.D. and Fergus Falls, Minn. offices before going to work for the RSR Electric Co-op in Milnor.
On November 25, 1972, she married Grant Gulleson, in Milnor, N.D.They made their home in the Rutland area. Sonja worked at the ASCS office in Forman. She was presently employed at the Sargent County Social Service office in Forman.
She is survived by her husband, Grant; two sons, John (Teresa) Gulleson, Casselton, N.D.,and Peder ( Connie) Gulleson, Rutland, N.D.; one sister, Joanne (Byron) Johnson, Woodbury, Minn.; two brothers, Gerald (Rosemary) Brekke, St. Peter, Minn. and Roger (Sharon) Brekke, Lisbon, N.D. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Pallbearers for the funeral were Michael Johnson, Scott Phillips, Earl Fust, Mark Wyum, William Gulleson and Dan Krause.
Music was provided by organist and soloist Janet Keifer and pianist Phyllis Wyum.
Interment at Nordland Lutheran Cemetery, near Rutland, N.D.
Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Milnor, N.D. was in charge of arrangements.

Corinne J. Highness
Funeral services for Corinne J. Highness, 73, Fargo, N.D., were held on Friday, October 20, 2000. at Olivet Lutheran Chrch, Fargo. Mrs. Highness died Sunday, October 15, 2000, in North Memorial Hospital, Robbinsdale, Minn.
Corinne J. Highness, daughter of Halvor and Agnes (Rufsvold) Kvalnes. was born on November 14, 1926, in Fort Ransom, N.D. She attended Fort Ransom High School and Interstate Business College, Fargo, N.D.
On July 12, 1947, she married Henry George Highness, in Pontoppidan Church, Fargo, N.D. Together they managed many dry cleaning stores in Lisbon and Fargo throughout their working careers. Corinne was an active member of Sons of Norway and Olivet Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband Henry, Fargo; a daughter, Linda (Dale) Thompson, Clifford, N.D.; and a son David (Karen), Long Lake, Minn.; four grandchildren; and one brother, Harlan Kvalnes, Fort Ransom.
Interment at Standing Rock Cemetery, Fort Ransom, N.D.
Hanson-Runsvold, Fargo, N.D., was in charge of arrangements.

Larry G. Knecht
Funeral services for Larry G. Knecht, 57, Leal, N.D., were held on Tuesday, October 17, 2000, at Epworth United Methodist Church, Valley City, N.D. Reverend Steve Johnson officiated. Mr. Knecht died Friday, October 13, 2000, at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, N.D.
Larry G. Knecht, son of Otto and Hertha (Filler) Knecht was born on October 17, 1942, in Harvey, N.D. He attended school at Hurdsfield, N.D. until 1960 and then moved with his family to Foxholm, N.D. He graduated from Carpio High School in 1961 and then attended Wahpeton State School of Science. Following his education he worked on missile site construction and then enlisted in the Army Reserve.
In January of 1966, he married Connie Schultz of Donnybrook, N.D. at the United Methodist Church in Donnybrook. The couple lived at Minot, N.D. where he worked as a switchman for the Great Northern Railroad. In 1967 the couple moved to Donnybrook where he operated a service station, worked as a meat cutter, and then worked at the grain elevator with his brother until 1974. That year the couple moved to Leal, N.D. where he managed the grain elevator until his retirement in 1997. He was a member of the Leal United Methodist Church, and had served as the mayor of Leal for several years.
He is survived by his wife, Connie; a son, Ryan (Amanda) Knecht, Aberdeen, S.D.; a daughter, Stephanie (Robb) Lee, Lisbon, N.D.; two grandsons and a granddaughter; his father and step-mother, Otto and Ruth Knecht, Grand Forks, N.D.; four brothers, Donald (Cheryl), Donnybrook, N.D, James, Jamestown, N.D., Mike (Leanne), Grand Forks, N.D., Tony (Joan), Grand Forks, N.D.; and a sister, Rhonda (Don) Hollarn, Grand Forks, N.D. He was preceded in death by his mother, Hertha.
Interment at Hillside Cemetery.

Otis C. Larson
Funeral services for Otis C. Larson, 96, Lisbon, N.D., were held on Monday, October 16, 2000, at First United Methodist Church, Lisbon, N.D. Reverend Beth Conrad officiated. Mr. Larson died Thursday, October 12, 2000, at Parkside Nursing Home, Lisbon, N.D.
Otis C. Larson, son of Olavus and Amanda (Peterson) Larson was born on March 12, 1904, in Lisbon, N.D. He attended school at Sydna.
On May 28, 1931, he married Julia E. Sanders in Lisbon, N.D. They lived near Lisbon where they farmed. Otis, along with his brother, Clyde and Vernon Sweet started the 4th of July Rodeo in 1934. The rodeo is held every year in Fort Ransom. Otis performed rope tricks along with his horse throughout the country. They moved into Lisbon in 1972. They became residents of Parkside in 1992. He traveled with Irene’s Kitchen Band for several years. Otis was an avid pool player.
He is survived by two sons; Otis (Sandi), Morgan, Utah, Orlin, Henderson, Nev.; four daughters, Verna (Billy) Rice, Ada, Okla., Nadine (Leonard) Anderson, Visalia, Calif., Grace (Francis) Ophaug, Larimore, N.D. and Burl (Dwight) Dick, Hasings, Minn.; two sisters, Sadie Olson, Port Orchard, Wash. and Helen (Einor) Tweit, Miles City, Mont.; fifteen grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mervyne Olson; five brothers, Herman, Harold, William, Clyde, and Clayton; and five sisters, Hazel, Hilder, infant, Helen Christine, and Mabel.
Pallbearers for the funeral were James Krentz, John Krentz, Robert Hegle, Orville Milbrandt, Alan Nims Marvin Reinke and Jack Sweet.
Music was provided by organist Mary Jo Smith and soloist Joan Montgomery.
Interment at Oakwood, Lisbon, N.D.
