BELFIELD -- Amy Stigen, 96, Belfield, died March 5, 1998, in the Dickinson hospital. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. MST Monday at Belfield Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She is survived by three daughters, Beverly Northrop, Dickinson, Phyllis Wyckoff, Sentinel Butte, and Doris Myers, Frazee, Minn.; and one son, Donald, Fairfield. (Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson)

Regina Rushford
Regina M. Rushford, 94, Marillac Manor, Bismarck, died March 6, 1998, in a Bismarck nursing home. Services will be 9:30 a.m. Monday at Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, Bismarck.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to Marillac Manor. Further arrangements are pending with Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck.

JAMESTOWN -- Marvin Oster, 77, Jamestown, and formerly of Hebron, died March 6, 1998, in a Jamestown hospital. Arrangements are pending with Spangelo Funeral Home, Hebron.

HEBRON -- Orion Bruvold, 78, Hebron, died March 6, 1998, in a Dickinson hospital. Arrangements are pending with Spangelo Funeral Home, Hebron.

LINTON -- Dallas E. Job, 54, Linton, died March 6, 1998, in the Linton hospital. Arrangements are pending with Myers Funeral Home, Linton.

Charles M. "Chuck" Holzer, 56, 418 W. Reno Ave., died Nov. 22, 1997, in a local hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Church of the Ascension, Bismarck. Further arrangements are pending with Boelter Funeral Home, Bismarck.

Paul Kurtz
Paul Kurtz, 71, Hazelton, died Nov. 23, 1997, in the Linton hospital. Arrangements are pending with Myers Funeral Home, Linton.

Amelia Gohner
JAMESTOWN -- Amelia Gohner, 91, Jamestown, died Nov. 22, 1997 in the Jamestown Hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at Church of God-Seveth Day Church, Alfred. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She is survived by seven daughters, Irene Moldenhauer, Galt, Calif., Laverne Yetterboe, Gackle, Leah Moldenhauer, Jud, Delores Schroeder and Sharon Schlenker, both of Alfred, Marie Strobel, Wishek, and Judy Mickelson, Jamestown; and three sons, Paul, Montpelier, Joe, Alfred, and James, Jud. Chris Christmann
Chris Christmann, 75, rural Lemmon, S.D., and Adams County, N.D., died Nov. 21, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. MST Tuesday, at United Methodist Church, Hettinger. Burial will be in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan, on Wednesday.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; three daughters, Bonnie, Lemmon, Debra Christmann, Maple Grove, Minn.; and Rebecca Dahl, Madison, Wis.; five brothers, John, Spokane, Wash., Albert and Henry, both of Lemmon, Art, Meadow, S.D., and Marvin, Afton Hills, Minn.; and four sisters, Martha Oberlander and Alvina Peterson, both of Lemmon, Lillian Nelson, Minneapolis, and Ruth Hansen, Meadow. Maude Johnson
Maude C. Johnson, 94, Bismarck, formerly of Berthold and Minot, died Nov. 20, 1997, in a Bismarck nursing home. Services will be held at 1 p.m. today, at Zion Lutheran Church, Minot. Burial will be in Rosehill Park, Minot.

She is survived by two daughters, Mavis Stromme, Bismarck, and Carol Yahnke, Lebanon, Ore. (Thomas Funeral Home, Minot)

Annie Demaniow
DICKINSON -- Annie Demaniow, 86, Dickinson, died Nov. 19, 1997, at her home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. today, at St. John's Ukrainian Church, Belfield. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

She is survived by four sons, Lawrence, Colstrip, Mont., Steven, Belfield, David, Tucson, Ariz., and Victor, Fort Benton, Mont.; and two daughters, Joyce Scheeler and Georgia Scheeler, both of Dickinson. (Mischel-Olson Chapel, Dickinson)

Christian Bergan
DICKINSON -- Christian Bergan, 96, Dickinson, died Nov. 22, 1997, in a Dickinson hospital. Services will be held at 1 p.m. MST, at Mischel-Olson Chapel, Dickinson. Burial will be in Dunn Center Cemetery.

He is survived by one sister, Alma Fendrick, Fairfax, Va.

Merlyn Dagman
Merlyn K. Dagman, 63, Lincoln, died Nov. 22, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Calvary United Methodist Church, Bismarck, with the Revs. Jim Cissell and Charles Woody officiating. Cremation will take place following the service.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, at Bismarck Funeral Home. A family prayer service will be said at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Visitation will also be for one hour prior to services at the church.

Merlyn Kenneth Dagman was born May 5, 1934, in Enderlin, to Wesley and Mary (Raden) Dagman. He graduated from Enderlin High School and attended NDSU.

He was married to Darlene Grace Kinney on June 5, 1955, at the Lisbon Methodist Church. To this union five children were born. Merlyn and Darlene farmed in Enderlin and Verona. During this time, Merlyn was a 4-H leader. They moved to Valley City where he was employed by Peavey Elevator, the city of Valley City and Beyer's Cement Inc. He was transfered to Bismarck and retired from Beyer's Cement Inc. (LaFarge Dakota Inc.) in 1996.

He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church and served on the board. He was also a member of the Eagles Club. In earlier years, he raced cars and was still a racing fan. Merlyn enjoyed snow mobiling, gardening and reading. His greatest loves were his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene; one son and daughter-in-law, Kennth and Doris, Lincoln; four daughter and sons-in-law, Denise and Randy Peters, Hazen, Diana and Perry Moser, Baldwin, Merri and Wade Staigle, Center, and Grace and Rick Baker, Bismarck; 13 grandchildren, Kyle, Wesley and Vernon Dagman; Melissa, Ambour and Jennifer Peters, Amanda and Alaina Moser, Daniel, Ethan and Logan Staigle, and Aaron and Ross Baker; his very special mother-in-law, Grace Kinney, Lisbon; two sisters, Janice Sedivec, Moorhead, Minn., and Phyllis Hemmrick, Fargo; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his father-in-law.

Gayle Comfort
Gayle Kelly Comfort, 77, Long Key, Fla., died Nov. 25, 1997, in a Marathon, Fla, hospital.

She was born Oct. 10, 1920, in Glendive, Mont., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Kelly, and attended Mandan and Bismarck public school, graduating from Bismarck High School in 1937 as valedictorian of her class.

She graduated from the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, Minn., in 1941 and attended graduate school at the University of Iowa.

In 1944, she married Rufus Lumry II of Bismarck and they later lived in Cambridge, Mass., and Minneapolis, where Gayle received her doctorate in psychology at the University of Minnesota.

She was an associate professor at the University of Minnesota and a staff psychiatrist at Veterans Hospital in Minneapolis during the Vietnam War.

She married Sam Comfort in 1975 in Michigan, where they maintained a summer home in Alden and a winter home in Florida.

She was a member of BHS Symphony Orchestra and was very active in girls intramural sports and Girl Scouting. She was one of only three Bismarck Girl Scouts who ever earned the Golden Eaglet award.

She is survived by her husband, Sam; two sons, Rufus Lumry III and Stephen Lumry, both of Bellevue, Wash.; one daughter, Ann Lumry Hedlund of St. Paul, Minn.; one stepson, Tom Comfort; five grandchildren; and one stepgranddaughter.

Memorial celebrations will be held in Florida and in the Cayman Islands during the Christmas family reunion.

Marie Heine
HAZEN -- Marie Heine, 88, Dickinson, formerly of Hazen, died Nov. 24, 1997, in a Dickinson nursing home. Services will be 9 a.m. MST Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, rural Hazen. Burial will be in St. James Lutheran Cemetery, rural Hazen.

She is survived by one son, Eldor of Hazen; and one daughter, Wilma Kilber of Hazen. (Seibel Funeral Home, Hazen)

Viola Hoff
UNDERWOOD -- Viola E. Hoff, 77, Underwood, died Nov. 25, 1997, in the Garrison hospital. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Bonaventure's Catholic Church, Underwood. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Adolph; four daughters, Kathleen Ell of Sheyenne, Teresa Lakoduk of Underwood, Helen Demanhoury of San Diego and Monica Peterson of Kansas City, Kan.; three sons, Donavan and Thomas, both of Underwood and Frederick of Coleharbor; three sisters, Josephine Scott and Florence Scott, both of Underwood and Mildred Askvig of Glasgow, Mont.; and one brother, Dennis Ulrich of Underwood. Clara Johnson
WILLISTON -- Clara Johnson, 84, Williston, died Nov. 25, 1997, in a Williston nursing home. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church, Williston. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Williston.

She is survived by her husband, Francis; three daughters, Arlyss Moline of Williston, Marilyn Messner of Sacramento, Calif., and LaVerne Ringdahl of Fargo. (Everson Funeral Home, Williston)

Virgil Sabot
Virgil LeRoy Sabot, 68, 7801 52nd St. N.E., Bismarck, died Nov. 25, 1997, at his home. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Church of St. Anne, Bismarck, with the Rev. Ed Wehner officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at Eastgate Funeral Chapel, Bismarck.

Virgil was born on June 25, 1929, in Bismarck, the son of Emil and Frances (Gabel) Sabot. He was raised and educated in the Bismarck area. He farmed northeast of Bismarck until his death.

He enjoyed music, hunting and combining and loved breaking horses.

He is survived by three brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Patricia of Washburn, Russell and Eunice of Baldwin and Donald and Eilene of Bismarck; and three sisters and brothers-in-law, Lavern and Ted Weber of Seattle, Beva Hoffman of Bismarck, Patty Ann and Ed Becker of Mandan and Harold Mowder of Detroit Lakes, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Darrell; two sisters, Gladys Fox and Doris Mowder, and one brother-in-law, Jack Fox. (Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck)

Arnold Silness
Arnold Silness, 89, Bismarck, died Nov. 26, 1997, at his home. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Boelter Funeral Home, Bismarck. Further arrangements are pending with Boelter Funeral Home.

Freda Starkey
Freda C. Starkey, 79, Lemmon, S.D., died Nov. 22, 1997, in the Lemmon nursing home. Services will be 2 p.m. MST Saturday at Calvary Lutheran Church, Lemmon. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery, Lemmon.

She is survived by her husband, Duane; four sons, Terry of Williston, Doug and Monte, both of Lemmon and Donald of Reno, Nev.; four brothers, Charles and Robert Witte, both of Meadow, S.D., Rex Witte of Glad Valley, S.D., and Dr. Willard Witte of Knoxville, Tenn.; and five sisters, Violet Zimmerman of Heber Springs, Ark., Esther Kummerfeldt of Ruthven, Iowa, Arlene Bell of Sioux City, Iowa, Grace Munyon of Isabel, S.D., and Joyce Hill of Omaha, Neb.
