Charles F. Thompson
Inurnment of cremated remains for Charles Thompson, 84, St. Paul, Minn, were held on Thursday, June 28, 2001, at Oakwood Cemetery, Lisbon. Reverend Norm Anderson officiated. Mr. Thompson died Friday, May 25, 2001, at his residence in St. Paul, Minn.
Charles Franklin Thompson, was born on June 22, 1916, in Lisbon. He was a machinist and electrician.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Louise McLellan.
Spielman Mortuary, St. Paul, Minn., was in charge of arrangements.

Eldred Bud Lemieux
Funeral services for Eldred (Bud) Lemieux, 80, Fargo, were held on Friday, June 22, 2001, at Sts. Anne and Joachim, Fargo. Mr. Lemieux died Wednesday, June 20, 2001, at Villa Maria Nursing Home, Fargo.
Eldred (Bud) Lemieux, was born on July 30, 1920, in Lisbon, where he grew up and attended school. In 1936 he began work for the CCC in California; returned home in 1932 and worked in Turtle Mountain Park. He moved to Valley City in 1937. In 1940 began work in construction as a heavy equipment operator.
On November 29, 1941, he married Agnes Mulvaney, in Chicago, Ill. They moved to Lisbon in 1942 and moved to Fargo in 1942. He worked for Union Local 49 as an operating engineer until 1972. He worked at Moorhead State College for 10 years; retiring in 1982.
He is survived by one daughter, Nancy (Theodore) Zitzow, Dent, Minn; three grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Jean (Robert) White, Atlantic Beach, Fla. He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes. For the past four years, he was a resident of Villa Maria Nursing Home.
Interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.
Boulger Funeral Home, was in charge of arrangements.

H.K. Ulland
Funeral services for H.K. Ulland, 86, Lisbon, were held on Friday, June 22, 2001, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lisbon. Reverend Norm Anderson and Reverend David Killeen officiated. Mr. Ulland died June 20, 2001, at Heartland Hospital, Fargo.
H.K. Ulland, son of Lars and Johanna (Tysseland) Ulland was born on July 22, 1914, in rural Lidgerwood. He attended school at Lidgerwood and Valley City State University.
On October 12, 1941, he married Lorraine Rensby, in Lidgerwood. They lived in Casselton for one year where he taught school. Then they lived in Milnor where he also taught school for two years. They moved to Lisbon in 1944 where he taught school and coached for many years. He started the wrestling program. He also coached basketball, track, and golf.
He is survived by his wife Lorraine; four sons, Kenneth Ulland, Portland, Ore., L. Arlie (Diane) Ulland, Ocala, Fla., Brad Ulland, Lisbon, Robert Ulland, Spokane, Wash.; one daughter, Janet Stevens, Crystal Lake, Ill; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Stanley Ulland, Waukegan, Ill., Leif (Julia) Ulland, Brooklyn Park, Minn.; and one sister, Pearl Ulland, Lidgerwood.
Pallbearers for the funeral were Jack Rieger, Steve Schultz, Bob Schultz, Joe Howell, Bob Rieger, Denny Lyons, Duane Bott, and Honorary Pallbearer, Roger Hamre.
Music was provided by organist Jan Hansen and soloist Alan Qual.
Interment at Oakwood Cemetery, Lisbon.

Clifford J. Weber
Funeral services for Clifford J. Weber, 87, Lisbon, were held on Wednesday, June 20, 2001 at the North Dakota Veterans Home, Lisbon. Father C.F. Wilhelm officiated. Mr. Weber died Sunday, June 17, 2001 at the North Dakota Veterans Home, Lisbon.
Clifford J. Weber, son of John and Mary (Schmitz) Weber, was born on February 24, 1914 in Dickey, ND. He attended rural Dickey School and Marion (ND) High School.
After working for several area farmers, Cliff joined the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1934-1937. While in the corps, he worked at Hill City, SD, Utah, Arkansas and Minnesota. He returned to agriculture pursuits until joining the U.S. Army (164th Infantry) in March 1941. Cliff attended Boot Camp in Louisiana. On December 7, 1941, the 164th Infantry moved to San Francisco to port of embarkation. Some of the World War II tour of duty included Australia, the Philippine Islands and several other islands of the South Pacific. While in the Army, Cliff served as sergeant in charge of a rifle squad. At one time, he and his men spent 90 days within yards of the Japanese contact. During this time, he acquired malaria, which affected him periodically. He was honorably discharged in October 1945. In 1946 Cliff’s brother Art and uncles Ervin and Matt Schmitz started a Minneapolis Moline Implement business in Enderlin. They sold the business in the summer of 1950. The Weber brothers began farming near LaMoure. Cliff retired in 1967. After his retirement from farming, he held various jobs around LaMoure. In 1991, Cliff became a resident of the North Dakota Veterans Home, Lisbon.
He is survived by four brothers, Ryan Weber, Marion; Will Weber, Clayton, Wisc.; Ervin (Frances) Weber and Art Weber, both of LaMoure; one sister, Elizabeth (Lavern) Taylor, Lyle, Minn. He was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers for the funeral were Robert Weber, Floyd Schmitz, Calvin Calkins, Michael Warcken, Dan Calkins and David Weber.
Music was provided by pianist Allen Remily and soloist Diana Schultz.
Interment at Oakwood Cemetery, Lisbon.

Lucille Ann Smith
Funeral services for Lucille Ann Smith, 80, Gresham,Ore., were held on Friday, July 27, 2001, at Portland Memorial Sunset Chapel, Portland, Ore. Mrs. Smith died Tuesday, July 24, 2001 at Gresham, Ore.
Lucille Ann Mulvaney, daughter of Jim and Lucille (Malarkey) Mulvaney was born on January 6, 1921 at Lisbon. She graduated from Lisbon High School. Lucille was 18 years old when she moved from Lisbon to Klamath Falls, Ore.
On June 26, 1940, she married William A. Smith, at Klamath Falls, Ore. Later they moved to the Portland area. She was a member of the Eagles and Elks in Portland for many years. She also was a member of St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Gresham, Ore. Lucille was a supervisor at Nabisco for 30 years.
She is survived by one son, Bill (Shirley) Smith; one daughter, Cheryl (Dan) Corum; one brother, Don Mulvaney; and one sister, Lois Schultz; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William on December 25, 1994, and her parents.
Interment at Portland Memorial Mausoleum, Portland, Ore.
Portland Memorial Funeral Home, Portland, Ore., was in charge of arrangements.

Robert R. Walsh
Funeral services for Robert R. Walsh, 76, Lisbon, were held Friday, August 3, 2001, at the N.D. Veterans Home, Lisbon, with Father C. F. Wilhelm officiating. Mr. Walsh died Tuesday, July 31, 2001, at the N.D. Veterans Home.
Robert R. Walsh was born March 25, 1925, in Hope, N.D., to Edmund and Rose Margaret (McCarthy) Walsh. He attended school in Hope and Richardton, N.D. He served in the U.S. Navy from Aug. 25, 1943, to April 7, 1946. He served in the U.S. Army from January 24, 1948, to December 31, 1951.
He married Marlys Bakke on January 1, 1948, in Fargo, N.D. He worked at Fuller Land Co. in Hope for several years. He moved to the N.D. Veterans Home in 1988. Robert received the Army of Occupational Medal with Japan Clasp, Purple Heart and First Oak Leaf Cluster, as well as the Combat Infantry Badge.
He was survived by three sons, Robert (Debbie) Macy, Chandler, Ariz., Randall (Eylene) Macy, Belle Fourche, S.D., and Rick (Jan) Macy, Scottsdale, Ariz.; and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers were residents of the N.D. Veterans Home.
Music was provided by organist Allen Remily and cantor Diana Schultz.
Interment at N.D. Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, N.D.

Dolly M. Webster
Funeral services for Dolly M. Webster, 75, Hudson, Wisc., formerly Lino Lakes and North Branch, Minn., were held Wednesday, July 25, 2001 at O’Connell Family Funeral Home, Hudson, Wisc. Pastor Karen Ditlefsen officiated. Mrs. Webster died on Sunday, July 22, 2001 at Christian Community Home, Hudson.
Dolly Marlis Johnson, daughter of Ralph and Nettie (Sampson) Johnson, was born on May 25, 1926 in Lisbon. She attended grade school in Dwight, N.D. and graduated from Fullerton, N.D.
On July 17, 1947, she married John Webster in Aberdeen, S.D. They farmed for many years in the Lino Lakes area before moving to North Branch in 1988 and to Hudson in June, 2001. From 1948 to 1973, she was employed by the Grain Terminal Association in St. Paul as a receptionist and a switchboard operator. From 1972 to 1988, she worked for Century Motor Freight Company in New Brighton, Minn., as a bookkeeper and office manager. She enjoyed gardening, yard work, being outdoors and raising horses on their hobby farm in Lino Lakes.
She is survived by one brother, Ralph (Rose) Johnson, Apple Valley, Minn.; brothers-in-law, Walter (Billie) Webster, Fullerton; Earl (Mary) Webster, Ellendale; and Harold Webster, Oakes; several nieces and nephews; and special friend Ione Jordan, North Branch. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Webster, who died in 1991.
Honorary casketbearers for the funeral were Clancy Jordan, John Polymors, Bradley Webster and Ione Jordan.
Music was provided by Cheryl Forester.
Interment at Maple View Cemetery, Fullerton.
O’Connell Family Funeral and Cremation Services, Hudson, Wisc., was in charge of arrangements.
