DICKINSON -- William G. Namyniuk, 86, Dickinson, died Sept. 8, 2000, in a Dickinson care center. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Tuesday at St. Demetrius Ukrainian Catholic Church, rural Belfield. Further arrangements are pending at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson.

Harriet M. Schantz
Harriet M. Schantz, 70, Naches, Wash., formerly of Bismarck, died Aug. 29, 2000, at her home. A memorial service was held Sept. 1 at St. John's Catholic Church, Naches. She is survived by her husband, Joseph R.; two daughters, Pamela Fridley, Selah, Wash., and Debbie Schantz, Orinda, Calif.; two sons, Peter, Yakima, Wash., and Joseph B., Naches; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four sisters, Ruth Snyder, Newberg, Ore., Violet Clooten, Bismarck, Arlene Auch, Orangevale, Calif., and Judy Bailey, Mandan; one brother, Clarence Burtts, Linton, and William Burtts, Bismarck; and one half-brother, Joe Fogarty, Newberg, Ore. John Schneider
RHAME -- John Schneider, 85, Rhame, died Sept. 6, 2000, in the Bowman hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Tuesday at St. Mel's Catholic Church, Rhame, with burial in Tuttle Cemetery, Rhame. He is survived by his wife, Learneda; three sons, George, Blessing, Texas, James, Hobbs, N.M., and Duane, Rhame; one daughter, Judy Cawley, Odessa, Texas; three sisters, Anna Schaefer, Tacoma, Wash., Martha Peterson, Rapid City, S.D., and Isabelle DeFoe, Longview, Wash.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Ella R. Schuh
ZAP -- Ella R. Schuh, 85, Zap, died Sept. 8, 2000, in the Beulah care center. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Monday at Concordia Lutheran Church, Beulah, with burial in St. Luke's Cemetery, Zap. She is survived by one daughter, Betty Giese, Beulah; four sons, Melvin, Killdeer, Henry, Sarasota, Fla., and Allen and Milo, both of Dickinson; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Elaine M. Schwartz
RICHARDTON -- Elaine M. Schwartz, 40, Elk River, Minn., formerly of Richardton, died Sept. 7, 2000, in an Edina, Minn. hospice center. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at River of Life Assembly Church, Dickinson, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Richardton. She is survived by her parents, LeRoy and Evelyn Schwartz, Richardton; two sisters, Pam Godfrey, Portland, Ore., and Lori Whitten, Springfield, Mo.; one brother, Michael Schwartz, Richardton; and her grandmother, Eva Schwartz, Richardton. Ruth Senn
Ruth Senn, 75, Mandan, died Sept. 8, 2000, in her home in Mandan. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan, with burial in Mandan Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan, where a Catholic Daughters rosary will be said at 4 p.m. Sunday, and a rosary and parish vigil will begin at 7 p.m. Sunday. Visitation will continue at the church one hour before services. Ruth was born Dec. 2, 1924, at Glen Ullin, the daughter of Alfred and Anna (Mutschelknaus) Anhorn. Raised there, she graduated from Glen Ullin High School. She taught rural schools in the Glen Ullin area prior to her marriage to Robert H. Senn on April 12, 1948, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mandan. They made their home in Mandan, where she was employed at J.C. Penney and the Farmers Union Elevator. Ruth was an active member of Mandan Golden Age Club, where she served on RSVP, the Grante Board and as chair person of the center committee. She received many recognitions for her volunteer work. A wonderful aunt, great-aunt and friend to many, Ruth will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Ruth was well-known and has touched so many of our lives in ways we will never forget. She was very well liked by the senior citizens at the Golden Age because of her dedication. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Gary and Pat Anhorn, Peggy Benz and Sandra Prudente, all of Mandan, and Gary and Carol Backman, Bismarck; special grand-nieces and grand-nephews, Nicole, Darren, Cody, Stacy, Paul, Travis, Tiffany, Ivy, Courtney, Michael and John Jr.; and very special great-grand-niece, Taylor Rose; and a special friend, Clara Wiege. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob, who died on April 10, 2000; and her brother, Raymond Anhorn.

HARVEY -- Mary C. Volk, 84, Harvey, died Sept. 8, 2000, in the Harvey care center. Arrangements are pending at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey.

Allen V. West
FLASHER -- Allen V. West, 26, Flasher, died Sept. 7, 2000, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Hazelton. Further arrangements are pending at Myers Funeral Home, Linton.

LeRoy E. Willey
YPSILANTI -- LeRoy E. Willey, 70, Ypsilanti, died Sept. 7, 2000, in a Fargo hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Jamestown, with burial in Ypsilanti Cemetery, Ypsilanti. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; two daughters, Evonne Willey, Fargo, and Debbie Romness, Sauk Rapids, Minn.; two grandsons; four sisters, Ruby Clemens, Osburn, Idaho, Ruth Williams, Milnor, Evelyn Steckler, Jamestown, and Grace Priebe, Waterloo, Iowa; and four brothers, Donald, Jamestown, Ernest, Jamestown, Lloyd, Granger, Wash., and Darwin, Casper, Wyo. BELFIELD -- Russell C. Wolfgram, 60, Belfield, died Sept. 8, 2000, in a Rochester, Minn. hospital. Arrangements are pending at Mischel-Olson Chapel, Dickinson.

Chauvin R. Belile
Chauvin R. Belile, 20, Bismarck, died Aug. 16, 2000. Wake services will be held today and Sunday, at the Roulliard residence, Kyle, S.D. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Monday, at the Episcopal Church, Kyle, with burial in the church cemetery. Survivors include his parents, Don and Cathy Belile, Bismarck; six brothers, Donald Jr., Caleb, Curtis and Judah, all of Bismarck, and Maynard and Lee, both of Kyle; three sisters, Naomi, Leila and Ladonna, all of Bismarck; and his grandparents, Jane Roulliard, Kyle, Bernice Belile, Driscoll, and Lawson Iron Hawk, Manderson, S.D. Patric Peter Berger
A celebration of Patric Peter Berger's life, 41, was held on Aug. 17, 2000 in Tucson, Ariz. Patric was born in Bismarck and graduated from Mandan High School in 1976. He graduated from Mesa College with a Bachelor of Art in Psychology in 1980. He received his Master's of Counseling from the University of Phoenix in 1996 and he was an internationally certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. He moved to Tucson in 1980 where he was employed as a recreation director for La Hacienda Nursing Home. He was currently employed by First Correctional Medical and the Central Arizona Detention Center as a Mental Health Clinician. Additionally, he worked for various organizations in the areas of recreation, counseling, drug and alcohol abuse, including Rincon RV Park, Westcenter at Tucson General Hospital, Palo Verde Psychiatric Hospital, Kino Hospital, Catalina Youth Detention Center. He also taught at Pima Community College. In addition, he worked as a Crisis Counselor for the Southern Arizona Chapter of the American Red Cross. He was a member of the National Association of Social Workers and the Arizona Counselors Association. He is survived by his mother, Sally and her husband, Floyd Hammargren, Park Rapids, Minn.; his sister, Dianna Gilbert, Zap; one brother, James, Springfield, Va.; his best friend, Greg Schwab, Alpine, Texas; and a multitude of friends too numerous to mention whose lives Patric touched. He was preceded in death by his father, Matt.

Margit Bergstrom
TIOGA -- Margit Bergstrom, 98, Tioga, died Aug. 24, 2000 in the Tioga hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Tioga. Further arrangements are pending with Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga.

Roy Hanning
UNDERWOOD -- Roy Hanning, 89, Underwood, died Aug. 25, 2000 in the Underwood nursing home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Turtle Lake. Further arrangements are pending with Goetz Funeral Home, Turtle Lake.

Clara Haugrud
Clara Haugrud, 85, Bismarck, died Aug. 24, 2000 in a Bismarck nursing home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Todd Hylden officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Public visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. Sunday, at Boelter Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. She was born on Nov. 30, 1914 at Kathryn, the daughter of Engebret and Oline (Eggen) Roe. Clara was raised and educated in Kathryn, where she graduated from high school in 1932. She graduated from New York Hairdressing Academy in Fargo in 1933 and moved to Enderlin, working for different beauty shops before owning and operating the C&H Beauty Shop. Clara married Kenneth J. Haugrud on June 6, 1942 in Seattle, Wash. The Haugruds moved to Bismarck in 1945. In the spring of 1949, they moved to 1219 North 3rd Street, the house they built and where they have since resided. Clara was active in church activities. She loved her home and devoted her life to caring for her family. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Jean and H. Jay Vanderlinden, Red Wing, Minn., and Marcia and Ardell Wiegandt, Lawrence, Kan.; four grandchildren, Karen and Ted Wiegandt, Lisa Vanderlinden and her husband, Michael Eskin, Chris and his wife Christina Vanderlinden; and two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Nicholas Vanderlinden. Clara was preceded in death by her husband; three sisters, Sigrid Birklid, Ella Peterson and Ida Johnson; and one brother, Ingvald. The family prefers memorials to the Trinity Lutheran Church, Bismarck. (Boelter Funeral Home, Bismarck)

Helmer Holey
RUGBY -- Helmer Holey, 95, Rugby and formerly of Maddock, died Aug. 24, 2000 in the Rugby hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, at Nelson Funeral Home, Maddock, with burial in North Viking Cemetery, Maddock. He is survived by cousins. (Nelson Funeral Home, Maddock)

A. Ronald Holm
VALLEY CITY -- A. Ronald Holm, 95, formerly of Valley City, died Aug. 22, 2000 in an Escondido, Calif. hospital. Ron was born March 27, 1905 in Kensington, Minn., the son of Hans and Sarah (Ransted) Holm. He married Peg Eggert in Valley City on March 27, 1926. He was a manager of Montgomery Ward stores throughout the northwest, including North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin. After retirement, he and Peg settled in Escondido. Peg died in April of 1974. Due to failing health, Ron entered the Escondido Care Center in June of 2000. He is survived by a daughter, Marilyn Monson, Bismarck; a daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Ken Beyer, Bonita, Calif.; a son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Kay Holm, Fargo; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Irene, Eau Claire, Wis.; and seven nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Peg; and two brothers.

Rudolph Hummel
GARRISON -- Rudolph "Rudy" Hummel, 89, Garrison, died Aug. 25, 2000 in a Bismarck hospital. Arrangements are pending with Thompson Funeral Home, Garrison.

Walter Jordon
MINOT -- Walter Jordon, 56, Minot, died Aug. 19, 2000 on injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Services were held on Aug. 25, 2000 at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot, and burial was in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt. He is survived by his brother, Wayne, South Dakota; and his cousins, Loretta Wright and Arlene Hodgekiss, both of Fort Yates. (Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot)

Charlotte B. Keohane
BEACH -- Charlotte B. Keohane, 95, Beach, died Aug. 23, 2000, in a Dickinson care center. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Beach, with the Revs. David Morman and William J. Fahnlander officiating. Charlotte was born July 18, 1905, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Irene (Webb) Bitner. She was raised in Jamestown and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1923. She graduated summa cum laude from Jamestown College in 1927 with a degree in education. She began her teaching career at Beach High School in 1928, and then moved to Hawley, Minn., where she served as principal and teacher. On April 6, 1931, she married John M. Keohane at Tintah, Minn. She then taught at Campbell, Minn., until 1946. John and Charlotte moved to Beach in 1946, and in 1955, she returned to teaching at Beach High School, retiring in 1965. Charlotte was a member of PEO Chapter C at Beach. She served six years on the North Dakota State PEO Board, and was its state president in 1963. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Janet, Beach, and Neil and Donna, Belle Plaine, Minn.; one daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Fred Bolton, Halliday; one sister, Dorothy Young, Pocatello, Idaho; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Keohane, in 1989; and one grandson, John M. Keohane III, in 1979. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to Home on the Range, Sentinel Butte, ore St. Benedict's Health Center, Dickinson.
