She is survived by three sons, Dirvin, Leeds, Larry, Edmond, Okla., and Jodey, Leeds; one daughter, pam Schrader, Jamestown; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Patricia Meyer, Kalama, Wash., Joan Strand, Leeds, and Gloria Whalen, York. Rochus Leier
ESMOND -- Rochus Leier, 92, Esmond, died Oct. 23, 2000, in a Minot care center. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Esmond. He is survived by five daughters, Patty Erck and Dorothy Brown, both of Esmond, Eunice Weber, Idaho Falls, Idaho, Karen Sge, Oneida, S.D., and Nancy Roble, Denver; six sons, James, Devils Lake, Rochus, Plainsview, Minn., Don, Esmond, Curtis, Erskine, Minn., Dennis, Esmond, and Terry, Keystone, S.D.; 43 grandchildren; 77 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Vincent, Devils Lake. DICKINSON -- Emma Meduna, 84, Dickinson, died Oct. 22, 2000, in a Dickinson care center. She is survived by three sons, Ludwig, Leonard and Larry, all of Dickinson; two daughters, Georgianne Zastoupil, Belfield, and Delores Anderson, Mott; six sisters, Mary Chalupnik, Oakes, Mildred Burian, Rose Filipi, Tillie Filipi, and Mae Krpoun, all of Dickinson, and Georgian Karsky, Aberdeen, S.D.; two brothers, Steve Jilek, Dickinson, and Laudie Jilek, Belfield; 23 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Katherine; four sons, William, Livingston, Calif., Gerald, Grand Forks, Loren, Silverdale, Wash., and Ronald, Wichita, Kan.; two daughters, Carol Thompson, Rochester, Minn., and Constance Dunkelberger, University Place, Wash.; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Dorothea; two daughters, Polly Barnes, Prescott, Wis., and Julia Puhlman, Fargo; one son, Michael, Fargo; his mother, Ashley; and three brothers, Charles, Ashley, Larry, St. Louis, Mo., and Walter, Fountain Valley, Calif.; two sisters, Geri Keys and Phyllis Tinsley, both of San Antonio, Texas; and three grandchildren. Jason Matthew Randall
NEW SALEM -- Jason Matthew Randall, 7, New Salem, died Oct. 21, 2000, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 3:45 p.m. MDT today at Word of Life Baptist Church in New Salem, with the Rev. Ruger Winchester officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Jason Matthew was born on July 22, 1993, at Pinehurst, N.C., the son of Leonard and Melinda (Blue) Randall. He is survived by his parents, Melinda "Sandy" and Leonard Randall; his sister, Jessica, at home; and his grandmothers, Linda Gail Thomas, Hoffman, N.C., and Ruby Randall, Henry, Ill. Paul Reed
ELBOWOODS -- Services for Paul Reed Sr., 79, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Four Bears Community Center, with burial in Raub Cemetery. He is survived by sons, Leonard, Paul and Andrew, all of New Town; daughters, Pauline Hinden, Stanley, Cecelia Reed and Ethel Reed, both of New Town, Clarice Reed, Dunseith, and Carol Dubois, Bismarck; one sister, Maude Reed-Starr, Williston; 23 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Alvina Trousdale
MOTT -- Alvina Trousdale, 82, Mott, died Oct. 23, 2000, in the Mott care center. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. MDT Saturday at St. Vincent's Catholic Church, Mott, with burial in the church cemetery. She is survived by one son, Tom, Bismarck; one daughter, Margo Jorstad, Bismarck; four grandchildren; two sisters, Gertrude Woody, California, and Delores Schafer, Watford City; and one brother, Daniel Sauer, Littleton, Colo. Sheldon Denis Wold
Sheldon Denis Wold, 60, Spokane, Wash., died Oct. 1, 2000, in a Spokane hospital. Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the chapel of North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan. An open house will follow at 1409 N. 18th St., Bismarck. Sheldon D. Wold was born in 1940 in Juanita, to Clayton and Dorothy (Sandvold) Wold. He worked at the Bismarck Tribune from 1958-1959, then joined the U.S. Air Force and served until 1964. Mr. Wold worked as a fireman in Bismarck for two years as well as for the U.S. Postal Service and AT&T. He began working for the Burlington Northern Railroad as an electronic technician in 1968, moving to Jamestown, then to Billings, Mont., and finally to Spokane, Wash., where he retired after 20 years. Sheldon was cremated Oct. 6 at the Neptune Society of Washington and will be interred at the veterans cemetery in Mandan. Sheldon is survived by his mother, Dorothy Wold, Bismarck; one daughter, Twila and her husband, Rick Dockter, Pierre, S.D.; two sons, Micah, Palermo, Calif., and Anthony, Lynnwood, Wash.; four brothers, Monte, Bismarck, Roland, and his wife Jean, Spearfish, S.D., and Randy and his wife, Tracy, Plymouth, Minn.; five sisters, Carol Fuller, Detroit Lakes, Minn., Darla Vixie, Springfield, Ore., Linda and her husband Kevin Bolin, Yakima, Wash., Nila and her husband, Marshall Pudwill, Bismarck, and Tana and her husband John Charvat, Mandan; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Clayton, in 1966; and his grandson, Tyler Dockter, in May 2000.

DICKINSON -- Martha Zastoupil, 85, Dickinson, died Oct. 24, 2000, in a Dickinson care center. Services will be held at 1 p.m. MDT Friday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Dickinson. Further arrangements are pending at Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson.

Alice Anderson
WILLISTON -- Alice Anderson, 84, Williston, died Oct. 24, 2000 in the Williston nursing home. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, at Everson Funeral Home, Williston, with burial in Riverivew Cemetery. She is survived by two sons, Richard N., Williston, and Douglas, Bismarck and two grandsons. (Everson Funeral Home, Williston)

Anna Backman, 93, Bismarck, died Oct. 25, 2000 at her daughter's home in Bismarck. Arrangements are pending with Boelter Funeral Home, Bismarck.

Raymond Braun

Dorothy Elam
STANTON -- Dorothy Elam, 81, Stanton, Ky., formerly of Garrison, died Oct. 20, 2000 at her home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Thompson Funeral Home, Garrison. Further arrangements are pending.

Alex Giesinger
Alex Giesinger, 89, Bismarck, formerly of Seattle, died Oct. 24, 2000, in a Bismarck care center. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at Bismarck Funeral Home, with the Rev. Steve Zastoupil officiating. Burial will be in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation will continue at the funeral home one hour before services. Alex was born Feb. 16, 1911, the son of Konstontine and Margaret (Usselman) Giesinger, in Hazen. He is survived by two sisters-in-law, Rose Giesinger and Ida Giesinger, both of Bismarck; several nieces and nephews; special grand-nieces, Marie Giesinger and Sherry Weil; and grand-nephews, Jonathan Giesinger. He was preceded in death by his parents and 11 siblings.

Carl Grenz
HAZELTON -- Carl Grenz, 83, Hazelton, died Oct. 25, 2000 in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at Myers Funeral Home Chapel, Linton. Further arrangements are pending.
