Sadie R. Kuntz
REGENT -- Sadie R. Kuntz, 87, Bismarck, died Oct. 26, 2000, in a Bismarck nursing home. Arrangements are pending at Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home, Mott.

Clement J. Long
Clement J. Long, 72, Mandan, went home to be with Our Lord on Oct. 26, 2000. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Spirit of Life Catholic Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Cyprian Meier officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, where a rosary will be said at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, followed by a parish vigil at 4. Visitation will continue at the church one hour before services. Clement was born to Charles and Clara (Freese) Long on Feb. 3, 1928, on a farm near Berlin. He was raised and educated in Berlin and graduated from Edgeley High School. He married Imelda Aberle on May 14, 1951, in St. John's Catholic Church, Berlin. They farmed for 35 years before moving into Berlin in 1986. They moved to Mandan in June of 2000. Along with farming, Clem was employed for several years at James Valley Electrict in Edgeley. He was a member of the Transfiguration parish and an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus Council of Edgeley. Clem was an active member of the North Dakota Right to Life since its formation. He also served as the precinct committeeman for the Democratic Party. He volunteered many hours for the community and his church. He is survived by his wife, Imelda; five children and their spouses, Rosella and Vernon Laning, Bismarck, Ellen and Donald Humble, Mandan, Raphael and Mary Long, Dickinson, Carol and Damon Tobias, Arlington, Va., and Robert Long, Mandan; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marcella Siebels, West Fargo, and Sister Victorine Long, St. Paul, Minn.; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Leonard and Clara Long, Nome, and John and Christina Long, Berlin. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Richard and Francis.

Willam C. Maxwell
FESSENDEN -- Willam C. Maxwell, 57, Fessenden, died Oct. 27, 2000, in the New Rockford care center. Arrangements are pending at Nelson Funeral Home, Fessenden.

Lawrence Summers
Lawrence Summers, 86, Bismarck, died Oct. 26, 2000, in a Bismarck care center. Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are pending at Eastgate Funeral Service.

Matthew Michael Walter
Matthew Michael Walter was born into the loving arms of Kristin Brown and Dylan Walter, Aug. 14, 2000, and was delivered into the loving arms of Jesus Christ, Oct. 26, 2000. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Richard Hagestuen officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. Sunday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, and will continue at the church one hour before services. Matthew is survived by his parents, Kristin Brown and Dylan Walter; his sister, Constance Walter; his grandparents, Janette and Robert Tekippe, and Constance Walter and Mark Klemetsrud; his great-grandparents, Katherine and Norman Dale, Bernice and George Tekippe, Irene and Mike Walter, and Jean and Neil Klemetsrud; his aunts, Rachele, Rhea, Mikael, Jennifer, Tiffany and Tara; and his uncles, Trevor and Travis. He was preceded in death by his aunt, Heather.

Raymond L. Arnold
ESMOND -- Raymond L. Arnold, 56, Esmond, died Oct. 28, 2000, in his home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Esmond, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Jeannette; one son, Craig, Harvey; two daughtesr, Michelle Mackey, Janesville, Wis., and Nola Arnold, Mandan; three grandchildren; two brothers, Louis, Esmond, and Dennis, Steele; and two sisters, Helaine Arnold, Fargo, and Margaret Sanders, Sioux City, Iowa. Jay Bixby
Jay Bixby, 66, Bismarck, died Oct. 29, 2000, in his home. Arrangements are pending at Boelter Funeral Home.

Helen Inga Blom
Helen Inga Blom, 84, Bismarck, died Oct. 26, 2000, in a Bismarck care center. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Lignite Church of God, with burial in First Lutheran Cemetery, Lignite. She is survived by her husband, Clarence; three daughters, Elvina Brown, Bismarck, Maxine Lane, Minot, and Marilyn Brostrom, Bismarck; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Myrtle Corwin, Minot. Adam Budeau
Adam Budeau, 77, Bismarck, died Oct. 27, 2000, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Steve Sathre officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. today and 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Tuesday at Eastgate Funeral Service, and will continue at the church one hour before services. Adam was born March 6, 1923, on the family farmstead near Anamoose, the son of Samuel and Solamina (Schultz) Budeau. He grew up and attended school in Bergen, and at age 13, moved to the Anamoose and Drake areas. On Oct. 19, 1942, he married Edna Dockter at Towner. After their marriage, he farmed and worked for the railroad in Anamoose. In 1950, they moved to Goodrich, where he worked for Sheridan County. In 1963, they moved to Bismarck where he worked on construction, and in 1966, he went to work for the North Dakota State Highway Department. Edna died March 10, 1986. Adam retired from the highway department in 1987. Adam enjoyed hunting with his sons, son-in-law, and grandsons. He also enjoyed going to casinos with his many friends and walking everyday at the mall with his friends. He generally lived life to the fullest and he loved being with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Patty Jo Budeau, Princeton, Minn., and Garry and Eunice Budeau, Bismarck; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Lenny Everding, Menoken; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Sarah Lund, Bismarck, and Ester and Mel Fiskum, San Jose, Calif.; five brothers and two sisters-in-law, Emil Budeau, Hayden Lake, Idaho, Albert Budeau, Rudyard, Mont., Ernest and Louise Budeau, and Henry Budeau, all of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Edward and Cheryl Budeau, Minot; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Edward and Diane Dockter, and George and Linda Dockter, all of Bismarck; many nieces and nephews; and his special friends, Bob and Edna Zerr, Walter and Marlene Eckholm, Milton and Mary Schumaker, Don and Susan Scheeler, Lynn and Ilene Trusty, and Renae Loh, all of Bismarck. Adam was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Edna; four brothers; and one sister.

Carl E. Carlson
REGENT -- Services for Carl E. Carlson, 89, lifelong northeast Regent area farmer, will be held at 1:30 p.m. MST Wednesday at Faith Lutheran Church, Regent, with burial in Regent Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Tuesday at Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home, Mott, and will continue at the church one hour before services. A memorial has been established. Mr. Carlson passed away on Oct. 28, 2000, in the Hettinger hospital. Carl was born Jan. 2, 1911, at his family homestead, northeast of Regent, to J. Ed and Mary (Hanson) Carlson. He attended Cherry Butte rural school and graduated from Regent Publich High School in 1929. He began farming at an early age with his father, and continued to farm and live in St. Croix Township, Hettinger County, all his life. Carl married Adeline Stang on July 2, 1942, at the Lutheran Parsonage in Regent. They made their home on the farm and raised their family there. Carl enjoyed traveling with his family and especially enjoyed a trip to Europe with his wife, Adeline. He liked to plant trees and watch them grow, taking great pride in his walnut and oak trees. He enjoyed watching and listening to baseball games. Carl took great pride in driving the tractor on the family farm, doing many tasks in the field even in later years. He said it was his most relaxing part of the day. Carl served as secretary on the St. Croix Township Board, Regent Co-op Store Board, Alden Local Farmers Union, and was an active member of First Congregational Church of Regent. He greatly loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Adeline; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Raymond and Melva, Brush Prairie, Wash., James and Sallee, and Robert, all of Regent; two daughters and one son-in-law, Arlene and Jake Schauer, Faith, S.D., and Loretta Anderson, Regent; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, John David Schauer; and his son-in-law, Verne Anderson.

Eleanor Falstad
GARRISON -- Eleanor Falstad, 81, Garrison, died Oct. 27, 2000, in the Garrison hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at Peace Lutheran Church, Garrison, with burial in Garrison Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Eugen; two sons, Lonnie De La Barre, Wichita, Kan., and Wayne De La Barre, Colorado Springs, Colo.; one daughter, Valerie Fast, Garrison; three stepsons; three stepdaughters; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous step-grand-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Margaret Goetz
BEULAH -- Funeral services for Margaret Goetz, 86, Beulah, will be held at 2 p.m. MST Monday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Halliday, with the Rev. Timothy J. Swenson, officiating. Interment will be in the Halliday Cemetery. Margaret Goetz died Thursday, October 26, 2000, at Sakakawea Medical Center, Hazen. Visitation will be held on Monday at the church one hour prior to the service. Margaret Cook was born April 13, 1914, in Werner, to Allen and Maude (Rorabeck) Cook. Margaret attended school in Werner and graduated from Werner High School. She attended Dickinson State Teacher's College where she received her teaching certificate. She taught in rural schools in Dunn County. On January 11, 1936, Margaret married Leo Goetz at the Werner Presbyterian Church. They farmed near Werner. Later they moved to Halliday and opened an auto dealership in Halliday, where Margaret worked as the bookkeeper. Leo died October 10, 1962. Margaret then worked for Union Insurance until her retirement, at the age of 65. She entered Knife River Care Center, Beulah, on October 27, 1998. Margaret always had a smile and was well liked by all. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening and keeping track of her grandchildren. Margaret Goetz is survived by one daughter, Betty Jean Goetz, Bismarck; two sons and daughters-in-law, Allen and Marilyn Goetz, Tucson, Ariz., and William and Janice Goetz, Cincinnati, Ohio; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one son, Ronald; and one brother, Harry Cook. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Halliday. Daniel R. Henn
STRASBURG -- Daniel R. Henn, 86, died Oct. 26, 2000. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Forest Lawn funeral Home, Seattle. Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. He was born Sept. 20, 1914, in Strasburg, and had lived in the Seattle area for the past 56 years. He is survived by five children, Michael Henn, Karen Heindel, Gary Henn, Brenda Hampton and Mark Henn; three sisters; one brother; and numerous other relatives and friends. The family prefers memorials to Medic One, Seattle.

Regina Hilzendeger
NAPOLEON -- Regina Hilzendeger, 89, Napoleon, died Oct. 27, 2000, in a Bismarck care center. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Napoleon, with burial in the church cemetery. She is survived by one daughter, Marcella Johs, Napoleon; two sons, Andrew, Napoleon, and Thomas, Bismarck; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and two step-great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Wenelin Mosset, Linton; and one sister, Eva Volk, Bismarck. Margaret M. Homan
Margaret M. "Peg" Homan, 82, 1163 N. Third St., died Oct. 27, 2000, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Church of Corpus Christi, Bismarck, with the Rev. Steve Zastoupil officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck. Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday at Eastgate Funeral Service, and will continue at the church one hour before services. A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Margaret was born June 9, 1918, in Bismarck, the daughter of Harry and Marion Homan. She grew up and attended school in Bismarck, graduating from St. Mary's High School. She graduated from St. Benedict's College in St. Joseph, Minn. During World War II, she returned to Bismarck to work at the Fort Lincoln Interment Camp. She then went on to work at the Bureau of Reclamation as the Human Resources Officer until her retirement. Margaret was an active member of the Church of Corpus Christi. She enjoyed playing golf. She is survived by her cousins, Bill Homan, and his wife, Wanda, Bismarck, Jim Doerr, New York City, John Doerr, South Sioux City, Neb., and Bert Lewison and his wife, Pam, Minneapolis. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorials may be given to Church of Corpus Christi.

Sadie R. Kuntz
REGENT -- Services for Sadie R. Kuntz, 87, Bismarck, formerly of Regent, will be held at noon CST Monday at Church of St. Anne, Bismarck, with the Rev. Ed Wehner officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. CST Monday in St. Henry's Cemetery, Regent. Visitation will be from noon to 3:30 p.m. today at Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home, Mott, and will continue at the church one hour before services. A parish vigil and rosary will begin at 7:30 tonight at the church. Mrs. Kuntz passed away late Oct. 26, 2000, in a Bismarck care center. Sadie R. Kuntz was born June 19, 1913, to August and Scholastica (Volk) Nagel, near Raleigh. She attended rural school and helped her parents on the farm. On June 2, 1936, she was united in marriage to Peter J. Kuntz at Raleigh. They farmed in the Raleigh area for a time. In 1948, he began working for the railroad, living at Flasher, and in 1963, they moved to Mott. After his retirement, they moved to Regent in 1976. Sadie continued to live in Regent after his death in 1988. She moved to Bismarck in 1995 to be nearer to her family. She resided at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center for the past few years. Sadie dearly loved her grandchildren. She enjoyed making German fried dumplings, soup, kuchen and cookies for her family. Grateful for sharing her life are four daughters and sons-in-law, Sally and Marvin Stotz, Anamoose, Dorothy and Eugene Peterson, Bismarck, Marlene and Gerald Hellman, Monticello, Minn., and Frances and Gene Stewart, Bismarck; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Marvin and Marlene Kuntz, Ypsilanti, and John Kuntz, Sparta, Wis.; as well as 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister, Theresa Miller, Raleigh; and one brother, John Nagel, Bismarck. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; and four sisters.

William C. Maxwell
FESSENDEN -- William C. Maxwell, 57, Fessenden, died Oct. 27, 2000, in the New Rockford care center. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, Fessenden, with burial in Hillside Cemetery, Fessenden. He is survived by his wife, JoAnn; four sons, Jerald, Roseau, Minn., Danny, Fessenden, and Gregory and Troy, both of Minot; one daughter, Tana Rae Maxwell, Fessenden; five grandchildren; and one sister, Kathryn Will, Plattville, Colo.
