Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Hillsboro, with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Hillsboro. He is survived by his wife, Cecelia; three children, Margaret Ployhart, Argusville, Mary Morman, Glen Ullin, and Pat Nelson, Washburn; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Mary Nosbusch
DEVILS LAKE -- Mary Nosbusch, 74, Devils Lake, died Feb. 3, 2001. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Devils Lake, with burial in the church cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Ralph; three sons, Allan, Bismarck, Bradley, Warroad, Minn., and Mark, Arlington, Wash.; three daughters, Carol Summers, Park River, Beverly Lindsey, Kindred, and Diane Forde, Stuarts Draft, Va.; 18 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four sisters, Emma Meagher, Millbrae, Calif., Ida Berg, Portland, Ore., Lenore Huettl, Minot, and Helen Brown, Spokane, Wash.; and four brothers, Harold Berg, Omar Berg and Richard Berg, all of Devils Lake, and Herman Berg, Brandon, Ore. CENTER -- Beverly Orgaard, 55, Center, died Feb. 4, 2001, in her home. Arrangements are pending at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan.

Philip Wolf
GLEN ULLIN -- Philip Wolf, 82, Glen Ullin, died Feb. 4, 2001, in a Bismarck nursing home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MST Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Glen Ullin. Further arrangements are pending at Spangelo Funeral Home, Glen Ullin.

Jerome C. Bertsch
Jerome C. "Jerry" Bertsch, 60, El Dorado Hills, Calif., died Jan. 10, 2001, in a Folsom, Calif., hospital, of natural causes. A memorial service was held Jan. 13 at his home. Jerry was born Dec. 16, 1940, the son of Albert and Marian Bertsch, in Bismarck, where he was raised. He graduated from Bismarck High School with the class of 1958. After high school, he moved to California, where he attended college and worked for Aero-Jet General, testing the fuel used on one of the first Apollo spacecraft. After receiving his degree in economics from Sacramento State, he was employed as a field auditor for the California state banking system, from which he retired as Deputy Supervisor of Banks in 1996. A nature lover, he spent his last years primarily outdoors interacting with his animals and the wildlife that inhabited his property. He is survived by his mother, Marian, Las Vegas; one son, Paul, Corpus Christi, Texas; one sister, Judi Houston, Panguitch, Utah; one grandson, Cody Bertsch, Corpus Christi; two nephews, Cary and Chip Chrovian, Henderson, Nev.; and one niece, Christine Chrovian, Las Vegas. He was preceded in death by his father.

Olive E. Borden
WILLISTON -- Olive E. Wold Borden, 82, formerly of Minneapolis and Williston, died Feb. 4, 2001, in the New Salem nursing home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church, Williston. Burial will be in Hillside Memory Gardens, Williston. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at Everson Funeral Home, Williston, and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Olive Evelyn Sinness was born on June 4, 1918 in Fertile Valley Township in Divide County, the daughter of Ole T. and Ella Matilda (Brakken) Sinness. She grew up on the family farm, located between Hanks and Grenora. She attended a local country school in Divide County. She left school and worked for various families in the area. On Dec. 31, 1940, she married Hans Ingmund Wold in Sidney, Mont., in a double wedding ceremony with her sister, Edna. She and Hans had three children, Darlene, Ronald and Terry. Hans died on Nov. 22, 1964. Olive later married Robert Borden on March 17, 1965 in Grand Forks. They moved to Minneapolis, where they resided until Bob's death on May 23, 1992. She continued to live in Minneapolis until December of 1998, when she moved into the Karrington Cottages in January of 1999. She had been a resident of Elm Crest Manor since Sept. 1, 2000. While living in Minneapolis, Olive worked for a local bakery. She enjoyed going to local softball games, reading, fishing, playing Bingo, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren were always treated to fresh bakery goods when they visited, or when "Grandma Toot-Toot," would visit, as she was lovingly referred to by the grandchildren, because she traveled by train. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Evelyn Wold, Bismarck, and Terry and Donna Wold, Blaine, Minn.; Bob's children, Bruce Borden and friend, Laurie Albrecht, Middleton, Wis., and Anita Farland, New York; one brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Hazel Sinness, Bismarck; one sister-in-law, Lois Sinness, Williston; seven grandchildren, David Sinness, Bobbi McClure, Lori Wold, Cheryl Gustafson and her husband, Brian, Loren Wold, Lisa Dullum and Ryan Wold; three step-grandchildren, Kelly, Rob and Michael Borden, and Laurie's son, Bing Albrecht; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Olive was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Hans and Robert; one daughter, Darlene Dullum; and four brothers and four sisters.

Benedict A. Bosch
Benedict A. Bosch, 75, Bismarck, died Feb. 6, 2001, in a local hospital. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, Bismarck, with the Rev. Thomas Kramer officiating. Burial will be in the spring in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck. Visitation will be held from noon to 9 p.m. Thursday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, where a rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church. Benedict was born July 19, 1925, at Linton, the son of John and Cecilia (Feist) Bosch. He was raised and educated in Linton. On Oct. 23, 1951, he married Barbara Doll. They moved to Bismarck in 1952 where he worked construction and for the Bismarck Public Schools. He worked at First Presbyterian Church for 22 years. Benedict enjoyed his yard and playing pinochle. In his retirement years he enjoyed feeding and watching the birds and squirrels. His family enjoyed his stories telling of his younger days on the farm near Linton. He was a lifetime member of the Eagle's Club. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; one son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Debra, Mandan; and four daughters and sons-in-law, Evelyn and Robert Freidt, Bakersfield, Calif., Diane and Jim Wangler, Linton, Marilyn and Ray Marquart, Mandan, and Mary Ann and Don James, Bear Lake, Mich.; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Ralph and Frances, Alex and Katie, Pete and Mary, and Julius and Mary Ann, all of Bismarck, and Larry and Johanna, Mandan; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Tillie and Tom Stout, Parsons, Tenn., and Rose and Bob Fettig, Linton. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Arnold Bratz
COLEHARBOR -- Arnold "Pep" Bratz, 74, Coleharbor, died Feb. 3, 2001, at his winter home in Yuma, Ariz. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Riverdale, with the Rev. John Nilsen officiating. Burial will be in Coleharbor Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon to 9 p.m. Thursday at Thompson Funeral Home, Garrison, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church. Pallbearers are Lyle Madl, Duane Brenneise, Randy Nelson, Willie Wilson, Larry Rime and Royd Fettig. Arnold was born July 21, 1926, in Coleharbor, the son of Emil and Erna (Wilke) Bratz. He was raised and educated in Coleharbor. On June 18, 1950, he married Jacquilynn Peterson at Riverdale. He worked for various contractors and in 1966 began working for the Fish and Wildlife Service at Audubon National Wildlife Refuge near Coleharbor. He retired in 1987 and had spent the winter months in Yuma, Ariz. Arnold enjoyed fishing during the summer months and was an avid fan of all types of sports. He was a member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Coleharbor. He is survived by his wife, Jackie; one son, Pete, Coleharbor; one daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Roger Wilson, Washburn; one brother, Jerry, Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Lucille Carlson, Jacksonville, Fla., and Joyce and Bill Allen, Pensecola, Fla.; three granddaughters, Jodi Kallberg and Nadean Bratz, both of Minot, and Hedi Wilson, Washburn; and one special German granddaughter, Ulrike Metelmann. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Clifford and Delton. The family prefers memorials to the American Lung Association or to St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, Coleharbor.

Elsie Fetzer
HARVEY -- Elsie Fetzer, 83, Harvey, died Feb. 5, 2001, in the Harvey hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church, Harvey. Further arrangements are pending with Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey.

Ronald D. Folden
GRAND FORKS -- Ronald D. Folden, 53, Grand Forks, formerly of Parshall, died Feb. 3, 2001, in a Fargo hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church, Parshall. Burial will be in Lucky Mound Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Parshall. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn, Parshall; two sons, Mark, Dallas, and Kent, Jamestown; and four sisters, Karen Bohmer, Tonopah, Nev., Colleen Kilber, Parshall, Bonnie Portor, Grand Forks, and Judy Johnson, Fargo. Gertrude Gerling
WILLISTON -- Gertrude Gerling, 75, Williston, formerly of Wheelock, died Feb. 5, 2001, in a Williston nursing home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Epping Lutheran Church, Epping. Further arrangements are pending with Everson Funeral Home, Williston.

Wallace F. Irwin
Wallace F. Irwin, 64, Missoula, Mont., formerly of Hettinger, died Feb. 4, 2001, at his home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hettinger Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Hettinger Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Beverly, Missoula; two sons, Donnie, Hettinger, and Ricky, Aberdeen, S.D.; three daughters, Viola Trazma, Missoula, Mary Jangula, Dunnellon, Fla., and Lucinda Hedges, Ravendall, Wash.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Paul Komonko
Paul Komonko, 83, Battle Lake, Minn., died Feb. 6, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at a later date in Battle Lake, Minn. (Bismarck Funeral Home)

Kenneth A. Krueger
PICK CITY -- Kenneth A. Krueger, 70, Pick City, died Feb. 4, 2001. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Riverdale Community Center, with the Rev. Tim Lingelbach officating. Burial will be in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at Riverdale Community Center. Kenneth was born March 30, 1930, in Bismarck, the son of Albert and Lena (Grabau) Krueger. He attended school in Bismarck and Medina and was a graduate of Medina High School. Kenneth was once married to Viona Roemmich. He served in the U.S. Army. On May 20, 1961, he married Agnes Malard Jorgenson at Hill City, S.D. Kenneth worked as an electrician on many construction projects over the years, and retired on March 30, 1992. He and Agnes had lived in Pick City since 1963. Kenneth was a member of Local 714 of the IBEW and the American Legion. He loved attending auction sales, having coffee and visiting with his friends and family. He is survived by his wife, Agnes; one son, Keith Krueger; three daughters, Patricia, Bonnie and Sandra; two stepsons, Kenneth and Wade Jorgenson; three brothers, Melvin, Lester and Willard; two sisters, Verna and Lila; and his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Louise E. Malo
Louise E. Malo, 80, Bismarck, died Feb. 4, 2001, at her home. A memorial mass will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Church of St. Mary's, Bismarck, with the Rev. Charlie Heidt officiating. Louise was born Jan. 18, 1921, near Stanley, the daughter of Louis and Norma (Vadnais) Kuster. She graduated from Stanley High School and Minot State Teacher's College. She taught school in Verendry, Rosebud, Maryville, Shell Valley and St. John. Louise married Wilfed Malo Dec. 29, 1943, in Rolla, where they made their home. In 1977 they moved to Bismarck. She is survived by her husband, Wilfred; three sons and daughters-in-law, Doug and Pricilla, Belcourt, Greg and Cindy, Tacoma, Wash., and Gary and Bonnie, Bismarck; two daughters, Gail Malo, Bismarck, and Laurel Malo, Mandan; 11 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one brother, Merle Kuster; and two sisters, Regina Clark and Dorothy Deibert. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Colette; one brother, Ed; and four sisters, Delores, Hazel, Bertha and Ella. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to St. Mary's building fund project, "Creating Our Future." (Bismarck Funeral Home)

KILLDEER -- Kenneth Olson, 69, Killdeer, died Feb. 6, 2001, in a Killdeer care center. Services will be held at 2 p.m. MST Friday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Killdeer. Further arrangements are pending with Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson.

William Joseph Pretends Eagle
NEW TOWN -- William Joseph Pretends Eagle, 38, New Town, died Feb. 3, 2001, in Fargo. Services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at Old High School Gym, Fort Yates, with the Rev. Eugene Harjo officiating. Burial will be in Cherry Creek Cemetery, Cherry Creek, S.D. A wake will begin at 5 p.m. Thursday at Old High School Gym, Fort Yates. William was born June 22, 1962, at Fort Yates, the son of Bernard and Ollie (Breast) Pretends Eagle. He was raised and educated in Fort Yates. He attended Pierre Boarding School, Circle of Nations, Wahpeton, Sitting Bull College and the Indian Police Academy. William worked as a police officer for 15 years on the Cheyenne River Reservation, as Director of Security at Circle of Nations, Wahpeton, as a security officer for 4-Bears Casino and Lodge, and was a teacher's aide at New Town High School. He married Danelle Halfred, who passed away in August 2000. He is survived by three daughters, April Pretends Eagle, Fort Totten, Jo'l Pretends Eagle, Red Scaffold, S.D., and Willow Pretends Eagle, Eagle Butte, S.D.; five sisters, Ruth Sparks, Mobridge, S.D., Marilyn Harjo, Dallas, Magdelyn Pretends Eagle, Sioux Falls, S.D., Barbara Silseth, Las Cruces, N.M., and Bernadine Broken Leg, Fort Yates; and four brothers and one sister-in-law, Leo and Marva, New Town, Howard, Wanblee, S.D., Marty, Fort Yates, and Donald, Grand Forks. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Danelle; and two sisters, Velma and Rita. (Perry Funeral Home, Mandan)
