Margaret Tuhy
DICKINSON -- Margaret Tuhy, 81, Dickinson, died Dec. 12, 2000, in the Dickinson hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MST today at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Dickinson. Burial will be in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, Dickinson. She is survived by one daughter, Angeline Hutchmacher, Killdeer; two sons, Leonard and Jerry Tuhy, both of Dickinson; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Laudie J. Hanel, Dickinson; and two sisters, Emma Pavlicek, Dickinson, and Dorothy Schneider, Yakima, Wash. (Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson)

CARSON -- Herman Werner, 77, Mandan, formerly of Carson, died Dec. 13, 2000, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MST Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Paradise Community, south of Carson. Burial will be in Paradise Community Cemetery. He is survived by two brothers, G.F. Werner, Mandan, and Lawrence Werner, Basin, Wyo. (Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home, Elgin)

Leone Cudworth
NEW ROCKFORD -- Leone Cudworth, 88, New Rockford, formerly of Sheyenne, died May 23, 2000 in the New Rockford nursing home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, at New Rockford Evangelical Free Church. Further arrangements are pending with Evans Funeral Home, New Rockford.

Jacob Ehli
Jacob Ehli, 85, Bismarck, died May 22, 2000 in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, at the Church of St. Anne, with the Rev. Ed Wehner officiating. Burial will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. today at Bismarck Funeral Home with a vigil service and rosary at 8 p.m. Visitation will also continue one hour prior to the service at church. Jacob was born on Dec. 10, 1914 in Wells County, the son of Philip and Catherine Ehli. He married Margaret Wirtz in 1937. He worked at Sweetheart Bakery for 36 1/2 yeras as a mechanic. Jacob loved to go to the senior center with his wife and loved to play pool with his friends there. He will be missed very much by his family and friends. He will be in our hearts forever. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; one son and daughter-in-law, Jacob M. and Julie Ehli, Grand Junction, Colo.; one daughter and son-in-law, Margaret A. and James Ritz, Albuquerque, N.M.; three brothers, Martin and Philip Ehli, Bismarck, Richard Ehli, Missoula, Mont.; five sisters, Betty Fredrick, Long Poke, Calif., Rosie Weible, Oak Harbor, Wash., Isbelle Babel, Bismarck, Alice Ehli and Bobbie Ehli, Eugene, Ore.; seven grandchildren, Marcy Ehli, Brett Ehli, Lori Ehli, Joe Blasy, Joan Cox, Jamie Ritz and Ruth Ritz; and three great-grandchildren, Ashley Ehli, Mace Blasy and Shawn Cox. He was preceded in death his parents; one son, his stepmother, Theresa Ehli; and three brothers and one sister. (Bismarck Funeral Home)

Jacob G. Fuhrer, 88, Herreid, S.D., died May 24, 2000 in the Linton hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Hope Reformed Church, Westfield. Further arrangements are pending with Myers Funeral Home, Linton.

Olga Beck
FESSENDEN -- Olga Beck, 95, Fessenden, died May 24, 2000, in the New Rockford nursing home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Concordia Lutheran Church, Fessenden, with burial in the church cemetery. She is survived by one daughter, Beverly Bjornson, New Rockford; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Ervin, Fargo. (Nelson Funeral Home, Fessenden)

Leone Cudworth
NEW ROCKFORD -- Leone Cudworth, 88, New Rockford, died May 23, 2000, in the New Rockford nursing home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at New Rockford Evangelical Free Church, with burial in Prairie Home Cemetery. She is survived by three sons, Glenn and Douglas, both of New Rockford, and Clair Jr., Bismarck; two daughters, Marjorie Anderson, New Rockford, and Marlys Hanson, Livermore, Calif.; four brothers, Maurice Williams, Leo Williams, James Williams and Key Williams, all of New Rockford; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Jacob G. Fuhrer
HERREID, S.D. -- Jacob G. Fuhrer, 88, Herreid, died May 24, 2000, in the Linton hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hope Reformed Church, Westfield, N.D., with the Rev. Floyd Haan officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Herreid. Carol IntVeldt will serve as organist, and Willis Vander Wal and Jerome Pool will sing a duet. Casketbearers will be Rod Fuhrer, LeRoy Sattler, Leo Ackerman, Mike HOffman, Ken Vander Vorst and Wayne Vander Vorst. Honorary casketbearers are his grandchildren, Chad Kruger, Melissa Nelson, Stacey Kruger, Sheri Emigh, Laura Johnson, Tara Fuhrer, Loren Fuhrer, Bryan Johnson and Emily Fuhrer. Visitation will be from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. today and 9-11 a.m. Saturday at Myers Funeral Home, Linton, and will continue after noon at the church. A prayer service will begin at 8 tonight at the funeral home. Jacob was born Aug. 2, 1911, on a farm 8 miles north of Herreid, the son of Jacob and Katherina (Heintz) Fuhrer. He attended a rural school. Jacob worked in Minnesota prior to his marriage. On Jan. 7, 1943, he married Bessie Vander Vorst at Eureka and they made their home on his family farm until October 1976 when they moved into Herreid. Jacob was a member of the Hope Reformed Church at Westfield. He served on the board of the Herreid Good Samaritan Center in Herreid for several years and also served on the Emmons County Farm Home Administration Board. He enjoyed spending time with his family and farming. Grateful to have shared his life are his wife, Bessie; one son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Kathy, Bismarck; three daughters and sons-in-law, Theresa and Gary Emigh, Sioux Falls, Vivian and Larry Kruger, and Cheryl and David Johnson, all of Aberdeen; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Edward and Gloria, Herreid, and Rueben and Betty, Portland, Ore.; and one sister, Lydia Sattler, Herreid. Jacob was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and six sisters.

Muriel Hartman
KILLDEER -- Muriel Hartman, 98, Killdeer, died May 24, 2000, in the Dickinson hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Killdeer. Further arrangements are pending at Mischel-Olson Chapel, Dickinson.

Anne Lilke
Anne Lilke, 84, Bismarck, died May 24, 2000, in her home after a long illness. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Eastgate Funeral Service, with the Rev. Lisa Ahlness officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck. Anne was born July 1, 1915, in Neche, the daughter of Julius and Hulda Gurke. She married Raymond Clark in 1931. When widowed she married John Lilke in 1940. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Darcy, Minneapolis; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jeraldine and Delbert Boyd, Sturgis, S.D., and Sharon and Gary Brennise, Bismarck; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Elsie Geiger, Seattle, and Ella Hooker, Kent, Wash.; and one brother, Arthur Gurke, Las Vegas. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; one son, Richard Clark; five brothers; two sisters; and two great-grandsons. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

Harold Neustel
ROBINSON -- Harold Neustel, 81, Robinson, died May 24, 2000, in the Steele care center. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Bethany Lutheran Church, Robinson, with the Rev. Allen Wagner officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A prayer service and visitation will begin at 7 tonight at Eastgate Funeral Chapel, Steele. Harold Herman Neustel was born July 21, 1918, at the old Rugland place south and west of Robinson. He was the son of Herman and Florence Neustel. He attended country and town schools in the Robinson area. In 1936, he went into the Civilian Conservation Corp for several years. He graduated from high school in Sidney, Mont. He joined the U.S. Army and served during World War II, having been one of the first from Robinson to enter the service just before we were at war. He took part in the landing on Normandy Beach and also in the Battle of the Bulge. On March 12, 1943, Harold married Helen Madson in Tacoma, Wash. He was honorably discharged from the Army in 1945. He became postmaster at Robinson in 1947 and held that position until his retirement in May 1982. Harold was very active in the Robinson community and was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church. He served on the church board, school board, and was active in other civic organizations. He coached Pee Wee and Babe Ruth baseball, and helped with the organization of legion baseball. His grandchildren were a special joy in his life, there were always jokes and wonderful adventures with Grandpa and Grandma. He is survived by his wife, Helen; one daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Rick Dewitz, Tappen; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dwight and Pat, Normal, Ill., and Kent and Tammy, Mandan; eight grandchildren, Jon Dewitz, Pipestone, Minn., Chad Dewitz, Mandan, Neal Dewitz, Brookings, S.D., Scot Dewitz, Tappen, Kelsey Neustel, Chicago, Dana Neustel, Normal, Brandon Neustel, Fargo, and Kylie Neustel, Mandan; and one brother and two sisters-in-law, Dean and Joy Neustel, Jamestown, and Orpha Neustel, Beulah. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Kenneth "Bud;" and an infant sister.

Sheldon Nolz
HAGUE -- Sheldon Nolz, 37, Hague, died May 24, 2000, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hague, with the Rev. Leonard Eckroth officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from noon-5 p.m. today at Myers Funeral Home, Linton, and will continue after 7 tonight at the church. A prayer service will begin at 8 tonight at the church. Sheldon was born Sept. 26, 1962, in Linton, the son of Francis and Anna (Zahn) Nolz. He was raised on a farm northeast of Hague and attended Hague School. He graduated in 1980. He worked for various construction companies in North Dakota and South Dakota. He also worked in the sugar beet fields along the Red River Valley near Wahpeton. Sheldon had taken over the family farm this past January. He was a member of Strasburg Knights of Columbus and was a licensed gunsmith. Sheldon enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing pool, bowling and most of all, picking on and teasing his nieces and nephews. He would always pinch their cheeks. He is survived by his parents, Francis and Anna Nolz, Hague; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Sherwin and Sandra, Bismarck, and Steve, Bismarck; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sheila and Gordy Herman, Bismarck, and Sherlene and Fred Roberts, Bismarck; two nieces, Ashley and Ariana; three nephews, Randy, Brandon and Jacob. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Andrew and Anna Nolz, and Constatine and Barbara Zahn; and one niece, Myia Herman.

Arthur J. Stuhlmiller
Arthur J. "Art" Stuhlmiller, 69, Bismarck, died May 23, 2000, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Faith Lutheran Church with the Rev. Joel Sherer officiating. Entombment will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Art was born March 14, 1931, at Dodge to Albert and Minnie Stuhlmiller. He attended school at Dodge where he grew up. On Aug. 20, 1950, he married Hannah Miller. They farmed north of Dodge until 1962 when they moved to Bismarck. At that time, Art began his insurance career until his retirement in 1997. Other than his work, Arthur had a lifetime love of music, playing the accordion and piano. He also loved people, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Hannah; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Wayne and Sandra Stuhlmiller, Bismarck, Kerry Stuhlmiller, Tempe, Ariz., Mark and Georgia Stuhlmiller, Bismarck; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Kaylen and Leland Morast, Halliday, Sharon and Kevin Dunnigan, Fort Collins, Colo., and Tami Stuhlmiller, Bismarck; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Frieda and Richard Frank, Bismarck; two sisters-in-law, Ann Stuhlmiller, Beulah, and Mardella Stuhlmiller, Richland, Wash.; and one special nephew, Vernon Stuhlmiller, Mandan; and several other nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Minnie Stuhlmiller; his brothers, Alfred and Eddy Stuhlmiller; one sister, Bertha Stuhlmiller; and his special nephew, Jerome Stuhlmiller.
