George Boehm
George Boehm, 67, Bismarck, died Nov. 29, 2000, at his home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Spirit of Life Catholic Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Cyprian Meier officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 to 9 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan, where a parish vigil and rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday. There will be one hour of visitation at the church. George was born Jan. 8, 1933 in Hazen, the son of Jacob and Katherine (Erhardt) Boehm. He was raised and educated in the Judson area and moved to Mandan in 1959. He married Eileen Nagel on Feb. 6, 1973 in Mandan. He worked for Mandan Transfer, drove for the Bismarck-Mandan Bus Line and worked as a tree trimmer for many years. He loved old-time music and all children, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Eileen; his children living at home, Diane Boehm and her friend, Brian Schell, Lea Ann Boehm, Steven Boehm, Christopher Boehm and his friend, Felicia Engstrom, and his foster son, Dennis Hagen; his daughter, Laurie Meckle and her husband, Mark, Vaughn, N.M., his sons, Daniel and his wife, Susan, and George Jr. and his wife, Dawn, all of Mandan; Steven Boehm's friend, Donna Murshel, Bismarck; eight grandchildren; two foster grandchildren; and two twin great-grandsons; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Agnes Kopp, Florence Kopp, and Rose and Jack Schaff; and one brother and sister-in-law, Connie and Maggie, all of Mandan. He was preceded in death by his parents; Judith Walker Boehm; two brothers, Pete and Tony; and two sisters, Bonnie Klein and Mary Meuchel. The family of George wishes to extend their appreciation and thank you to Spirit of Life Catholic Church, their staff and Dennis Hagen. Dennis has been with his father from the time he got ill. If it hadn't been for Dennis's help, we would not have had the quality time with George that we had.

Helen Braun
Helen Bailey Braun, 82, Bismarck, died Nov. 28, 2000, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at House of Prayer, Bismarck, with the Rev. David Swonger officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at Bismarck Funeral Home, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church. Helen Bailey Braun was born July 23, 1918 in Bismarck, to William and Margaret Malard. She went to Apple Creek School through the eighth grade. In 1937 she married Donald Bailey. After Donald died in 1962 she attended Bismarck State College. In the late 1950s Helen owned and operated Tyler's Cafe and was known for her caramel rolls. In 1969 she married Joseph Braun who later died in 1987. She was a member of House of Prayer, VFW Auxiliary Club and was a senior companion. Helen loved fishing, gardening, cooking, quilting, reading and her cat Squeaky and constant companion. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters. Helen is survived by two daughters, Ramona Fitzgerald, Washington, and Sharon (Gordon) Kadrmas, Dickinson; one son, Donald (Kerry) Bailey, Bismarck; two brothers, Edwin Malard, Moffit, and Jack Malard, Hazelton; three sisters, Fern Brown, Baldwin, Marion Felchle, Bismarck, and Agnes Krueger, Pick City; five granddaughters, Jennifer Kadrmas, Hiedie (Jared) "Kadrmas" Pozarnsky, Sara (Lucas) Bailey "Kosters", Elizabeth Kadrmas and Jill Runnion; one great-grandson, Randall Runnion; and also many relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Donald Bailey and Joseph Braun; her parents; two sisters; and one brother.

Thomas W. Carlson
WASHBURN -- Thomas W. Carlson, 66, rural Washburn, died Nov. 29, 2000, at his home from an apparent coronary. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Birka Lutheran Church, rural Washburn. Burial will be in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Erma; two sons, Terry and Bill, both of Washburn; six grandchildren; and two sisters, Marva Fink, Bismarck, and Karen Holmberg, Minneapolis. Clarinda Fowler
Clarinda Fowler, 73, Bismarck, died Nov. 30, 2000, in a Bismarck nursing home. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Tom Dunham officiating. Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at North Dakota Veteran's Cemetery, south of Mandan. There will be no visitation. She was born May 30, 1927 in Goodrich, N.D., the daughter of Edward E. and Emma (Rosenau) Dockter. She was raised and educated in Bismarck, graduating from Bismarck High School in 1945. She attended Minot State Teachers College where she received her teaching certificate. She then taught in country schools for two years. She worked at Hedahls for a number of years, United Accounts, Taxi 9000 and several other businesses in Arizona and North Dakota. Clarinda married Paul Fowler in 1957 in California. Paul was in the military and stationed throughout the world. He died in 1970. Following his death she returned to Bismarck. She served as President of the local VFW Auxiliary 1326 from 1971 through 1972 and was the District President of District 4 from 1972 through 1974. She loved to play pinochle and bingo, was an excellent cook, loved to listen to big band music, reading and shopping for blue light specials. Clarinda is survived by one daughter, Carol Ley, Bismarck; one son and two daughters-in-law, Paul "Jim" and Barb, Billings, Mont., and Kathy Sweeney Fowler, Bismarck; three sisters, Iris Hilzendeger and LaVonne Emery, both of Bismarck, and Luella Boyer, Grand Forks; one brother, Marlin "Curley" Dockter, Bismarck; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Inga Banning. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Steve; an infant daughter, Susan; and three brothers-in-law.

Mary Jennings
WASHBURN -- Mary Jennings, 86, Washburn, died Nov. 30, 2000, at her home. Arrangements are pending with Goetz Funeral Home, Washburn.

Russell K. Kronberg
FORBES -- Russell K. Kronberg, 69, Forbes, died Nov. 29, 2000, in an Aberdeen hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Church of the Nazarene, Ellendale. Burial will be in Ellendale City Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Caroline; three sons, Keith, Forbes, Carl, Ellendale, and Joseph, Bison, S.D.; two daughters, Carol Kieson, Watford City, and Beth Dahl, Keene; two sisters, Mary Lou Siewert, McIntosh, S.D., and Marabelle Bobbe, Forbes; and 17 grandchildren. Violet Miller
STANTON -- Violet Miller, 77, Stanton, died Nov. 29, 2000, at her home following a long illness. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MST Saturday at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Stanton. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, rural Hazen. She is survived by her husband, Adolph; four daughters, Barbara Carlson, North Branch, Minn., Donna Bauer, Bismarck, Linda Smith, Hazen, and Sandra Pickered, Stanton; one son, Duane, Blaine, Minn.; 13 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. David Olheiser
DICKINSON -- David Olheiser, 85, Dickinson, died Nov. 30, 2000, in a Dickinson care center. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MST Tuesday, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Dickinson. Further arrangements are pending with Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson.

Vera Roe
NEW ENGLAND -- Vera Roe, 87, New England, died Nov. 29, 2000, in the Hettinger nursing home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MST Monday at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church, New England. Further arrangements are pending with Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson.

Ella Scheidt
Ella Scheidt, 82, Bismarck, died Nov. 29, 2000, in a Bismarck nursing home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Thomas R. Marcis Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the spring in Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck. Public visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, and 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Boelter Funeral Home, Bismarck, and will continue at the church one hour before services on Monday. She was born May 20, 1918 in Wishek, N.D., the daughter of John and Elisabeth (Hilderbrand) Fode. She was raised in Wing. She married Frank J. Walker Sr. in 1933 at Regan. Ella married Edward R. Scheidt Sr. on March 4, 1946 in Bismarck. She is survived by three daughters and one son-in-law, Shirley Bender and Christine Helfrich, both of Bismarck, and Elisabeth and Lloyd Allen, Mineral Wells, Texas; four sons and five daughters-in-law, Frank and Vicki Walker, Regan, Edward Jr. and Geri Scheidt, Peyton, Colo., Lawrence and Cheryl Scheidt, Bismarck, Herman and Colleen Scheidt, Citrus Heights, Calif., and June Walker, Gillette, Wyo.; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Albert Fode, Arkansas, and Edward O. Fode Sr. and Earl Fode, both of Montana. Ella was preceded in death by her two husbands, Frank Walker and Edward Scheidt; two sons, Henry Walker and Emil Scheidt; her parents, John and Elisabeth Fode; one daughter-in-law, Diane Scheidt; two sons-in-law, Jim Bender and Del Helfrich; two granddaughters, Cammy Scheidt and Raynette Scheidt; six brothers, John, Emanuel, Herman, Charlie, Henry and Ted; and two sisters, Lena and Edna.

Harris Olson
SPRINGBROOK -- Harris Olson, Springbrook, died April 9, 2000, in his home. Arrangements are pending at Everson Funeral Home, Williston.

John Schmierer
LINTON -- John Schmierer, 80, Linton, died April 6, 2000, in the Linton hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at United Methodist Church, Linton, with burial in Linton Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Blanche; one son, Edwin, West Allis, Wis.; two daughters, Lillian Ward, Inver Grove Heights, Minn., and Lorna Schafer, Dickinson; two stepdaughters, Beverly Dustin, Everett, Wash., and Birdie McIntosh, Burlington, Wash.; three grandsons; four step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. Connie Tuntland
GARRISON -- Connie Tuntland, 91, Garrison, formerly of Coleharbor, died April 8, 2000, in Garrison. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church, Washburn, with the Rev. John Nilsen officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Washburn. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m.-noon Wednesday at Goetz Funeral Home, Washburn, and will continue after 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Connie Nesset was born May 28, 1908, in the family farmhouse at rural Hesper, to John and Karoline (Nass) Nesset. She attended grade school in Hesper and graduated from Benson County Agricultural Training School in Maddock in 1926. She attended St. Luke's School of Nursing in Fargo, and graduated in 1929. She worked in Fargo as a registered nurse. She married Mervin Tuntland in 1933 in Maddock. They lived in Cooperstown, Maddock, Washburn, Coleharbor, Fargo, Grand Forks and Garrison as Mervin pursued numerous careers. Connie occasionally worked as a registered nurse and loved nursing. She was a member and past worthy matron of Order of Eastern Star. She also was a member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church at Coleharbor, and was active in the Ladies Aid, Homemakers and 4-H. She loved performing humorous monologs and was well known for her gentle sense of humor. Mervin died on Oct. 24, 1994. Connie became a resident of Benedictine Living Center at Garrison on June 25, 1999. She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Tuntland, Tucson, Ariz.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Donna, Houston, Texas, and Tom and Michel, Mandan; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Solveig Bell and Gladys McGimsey, both of Albuquerque, N.M., and Dolores Benson, Maddock; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, William; one sister, Elsie Harmon; and three brothers, Oscar, Arthur and Norolf Nesset.

Emma Schoch
DICKINSON -- Emma Schoch, 88, Dickinson, died May 17, 2000 in a Dickinson retirement center. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Monday, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson. Further arrangements are pending with Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson.

Herbert Fredrick Dockter
Herbert Fredrick Dockter, 76, born to Jacob and Alvina (Nagel) Dockter on March 18, 1924, at Tuttle, died May 18, 2000, in his home at 1203 Simle Drive, after a courageous battle with cancer. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Tom Dunham officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck, with military rites by VFW Post 1326. Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. today and 1-9 p.m. Sunday at Eastgate Funeral Service, and will continue at the church one hour before services. Herbert graduated from Tuttle High School in 1942, then served his country in the U.S. Army and Merchant Marines. After retiring in 1970, he returned to Bismarck and made a home for his parents. During retirement years, he worked as an electronic technician. Herbert was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. Herbert enjoyed sharing his memories with family and friends about his sea adventures having sailed around the world 17 times. He visited every major seaport in the world. He is survived by seven sisters and five brothers-in-law, Hattie Zechiel, Hayward, Calif., Gertrude and Floyd Desing, Green Valley, Ariz., Clara and Dale Fairchild, Bismarck, Esther Hertz, and Erma and Ray Stordahl, all of Moorhead, Minn., Elsie and Marvin Schmitke, and Florence and Vernon Kluck, Sheridan, Wyo.; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Sadie, Gillette, Wyo., Arnold and Sharon, Bismarck, and Dale and Linda, Wausaw, Wis.; one uncle and aunt, Paul and Alice Dockter, Goodrich; 25 nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Florence Schaaf. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Ervin Dockter. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to Medcenter One Hospice or the American Cancer Society.

Einar Erlandsen
WILLISTON -- Einar Erlandsen, 77, Williston, died May 17, 2000, in the Williston hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church, Williston, with burial in Riverview Cemetery, Williston. He is survived by his wife, Ruth; one son, Jon, Williston; three daughters, Becky Knutson, Stevensville, Mont., Julie Eide, Dickinson, and Mary Hinsverk, Williston; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold, Torrance, Calif.; and one sister, Signe Grev, Williston. Ralph N. Ferderer
Ralph N. Ferderer, 76, Bismarck, died May 18, 2000, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at noon Monday at Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, Bismarck, with the Rev. Thomas Kramer officiating. Burial will be in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan, with military rites by VFW Post 1326, Bismarck. Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. today and 1-9 p.m. Sunday at Eastgate Funeral Service, and will continue at the church one hour before services. There will be a Knights of Columbus rosary at 7 tonight and a vigil at 7 p.m. Sunday, both at the funeral home. Ralph was born April 10, 1924, at Judson, the son of Nick and Rose (Emineth) Ferderer. He was raised and educated in Oliver County. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1945-1947 in the South Pacific. He farmed in Oliver County for seven years. He and Eleanor Hoerner were married April 7, 1953. They moved to Bismarck in 1955. Ralph worked as a mechanic for Case Implement, Anderson Repair, Haas International, Eddy's Bakery and Super Valu Inc., before his retirement in 1986. He liked to fix anything and everything. Ralph was a life member of the Eagles, and an active member and financial secretary for Knights of Columbus Council 6540 for 10 years. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Audrey and Greg Morman, Bismarck, and Rose and Kevin Wruck, Hazen; one son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Denise Ferderer, Milnor; eight grandchildren, Randy, Jeff and Jennifer Morman, Amy and Joshua Wruck, and Christopher, Katlyn and Jacob Ferderer; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Emil Ferderer, Steele, Joe Ferderer, Auburn, Wash., George and Caroline Ferderer, Sumner, Wash., Isabelle Ferderer and Margie Ferderer, both of Bismarck; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Tina and Reuben Staiger, Billings, Mont., Ann Opp, Glen Ullin, and Bob McCormick, Mandan; and a special friend, Daryl Balerud. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor; his parents; one son, Joseph; five brothers, John, Pete, Frank, Edward and Delano; and two sisters, Leona Schmidt and Betty McCormick.

Lorraine Hird
JAMESTOWN -- Lorraine Hird, 68, Jamestown, died May 18, 2000, in Jamestown. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Transfiguration Catholic Church, Edgeley, with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Edgeley. She is survived by her husband, Sam; two sons, Kim and Mark, both of St. Paul, Minn.; one granddaughter; and two sisters, Alice Kellogg, Fargo, and Helen Steinwand, Ellendale.
