Esther Beck, 79, Auburn, Ala., died Jan. 6, 2001 in Alabama. Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Trinity Lutheran Church, Auburn. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery, Herreid, S.D., on Jan. 11, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. Further arrangements are pending with Larson's Funeral Home, Mobridge, S.D.

KILLDEER -- Rose L. Darwin, 91, Killdeer, died Jan. 6, 2001 in the Killdeer care center. Services will be held at 2 p.m. MST Tuesday, at St. John Lutheran Church, Killdeer. Further arrangements are pending with Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel, Dickinson.

Florence E. Bahmer
Florence E. Bahmer, 82, Hopkins, Minn., and formerly of Bismarck, died July 5, 2000. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Hopkins. She is survived by her children, Leonard Jr., Hopkins, Sherrie Blom, St. Louis Park, Minn., Ray, Batavia, Ohio, Jeannie Gast, Maple Grove, Minn., Marly, Shakopee, Minn., and Kenny, Champlin, Minn.; 19 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

TEMVIK -- Alvina Bollinger, 87, Temvik, died July 7, 2000 at her home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hazelton. Further arrangements are pending with Myers Funeral Home, Linton.

WATFORD CITY -- Helen Christianson, 83, Watford City, died July 7, 2000 in a Minot hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, at First Lutheran Church, Watford City, with burial in Spring Creek Cemetery, rural Watford City. She is survived by two sons, Mac Danielson, Twin Falls, Idaho, and Gus Danielson, Elko, Nev.; three daughters, Donna Foster, Cheyenne, Wyo., Nancy Wilson, Rozel, Kan., and Alice Vondall, Wheatland, Wyo.; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. JAMESTOWN -- Walter W. Diede, 66, Jamestown died July 8, 2000 in a Jamestown hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at Seventh-day Adventist Church, Jamestown, with burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; four sons, Curtis, Jamestown, Ronald, Gillette, Wyo., Sherrill, Reno, Nev, and Terry, Reno; his mother, Barbara Diede, Jamestown; 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harley, Saginaw, Texas, Ira, Phoenix, Ariz.; and one sister, Dianna Schultz, Phoenix. Mary Hartman
GRASSY BUTTE -- Mary Hartman, 71, Grassy Butte, died July 8, 2000 at her home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Wednesday at St. Peter's Canisius Catholic Church in Grassy Butte. Burial will be in Grassy Butte Community Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Neale; one son, Ron, Grassy Butte; four daughters, Yvonne Baze, Riverton, Wyo., Candyce Kleeman, Killdeer, Cheryl Rafferty, Watford City, and Jo Rooks, Dickinson; a brother, Clemens Fettig, Killdeer; four sisters, Eleanor Wichser, Seattle, Wash., Agnes Schwalbe and Rosa Benz, both of Killdeer, and Delores Higgins, Eugene, Ore.; and eight grandchildren. HARVEY -- Olive Kopseng, 88, Harvey, died July 9, 2000 in a Harvey nursing home. Arrangements are pending with Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey.

Maryann Kraft
NAPOLEON -- Maryann Kraft, 63, Milwaukee, Wis., formerly of Napoleon, died June 28, 2000 in Milwaukee. Memorial mass will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Church of St. Anne, Bismarck, with the Rev. Ed Wehner celebrant. Burial will be in North Dakota Veterans' Cemetery, rural Mandan. She was born Feb. 20, 1937 the daughter of Edwin and Mary (Pondella) Fafrick. She married Albert Kraft on June 16, 1956 in California. They lived in Napoleon during the early 1960's after several years, they moved to Milwaukee, Wis., where they have since resided. She is survived by her loving husband, Albert; seven children, Albert, Milwaukee, Wis., Joanne, Palmdale, Calif., Karen, Milwaukee, Steve, Milwaukee, Cheryl, Morginton, N.C., David, Milwaukee, and Mary, Heart Land, Wis.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Edward and Sandy Fafrick, and Jim and Pattie Fafrick, one sister, Eleanor Selif; 23 brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Eleanor Samson, Ben and Linda Kraft, Lorraine and Bill Moore, Mike and Marlys Kraft, Vi and Val Vetter, Fran and Tom Schmaltz, all of Bismarck; Joseph and Rosemary Kraft, and Jane Bosch, all of Strasburg, Helen and Allen McLeod, and Victor Kraft and his friend, Linda, all of Milwaukee, Judy and Donald Brick, Aberdeen, S.D., Joliene and Donald Hahn, Lehr, Eugene and Madelyn Kraft, Minot. BALFOUR -- Reuben O. Martwick, 87, rural Balfour, died July 8, 2000 at his home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Drake, with burial in Balfour Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Lorna; four sons, Wade, Liberal, Kan., Bruce, Balfour, Arlen, Dwight, N.D., and Darwin, Liberal, Kan.; two daughters, Jenny Martwick, rural Balfour, and Kristi Vollmer, rural Balfour; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Herbert, Balfour, and Loren, Alexandria, Minn.; and two sisters, Viola Gust, Stockton, Calif., and Evelyn Evinrud, Salem, Ore. John A. Pool
John A. Pool, 98, Bismarck, died July 8, 2000 at St. Vincent's Care Center. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at Marillac Manor Chapel, with the Rev. John O'Leary officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Tuesday at Eastgate Funeral Service with a rosary at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Visitation will continue on Wednesday at Marillac Manor one hour prior to the service. John was born on March 29, 1902 at Brownton, Minn., the son of Arthur E. and Angie E. (Kisner) Pool. In 1904, he moved to North Dakota along with his parents and a younger brother, Martin. They settled on a farm near New Salem. John received his college education at Dickinson State Normal School and then began his teaching career of about 30 years. John married Clara Fitzgerald on Oct. 8, 1929 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Rectory in Wilton. After retiring from teaching, John and his wife, Clara, moved to Hunter in 1949, where they operated the Hunter Movie Theater for 18 years. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hunter, where he served on the church council and was a member of the Men's Club. John enjoyed traveling, especially by train. He and Clara moved to Marillac Manor in Bismarck in 1986. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary last Oct. 8, 1999. John is survived by his wife, Clara; three sisters-in-law, Loretta Sherman and Frances Krueger, both of Bismarck, and Irene Diel, Tacoma, Wash.; two brothers-in-law and their wives, Bart and Bernice Fitzgerald, East Moline, Ill., and James and Colleen Fitzgerald, Post Falls, Idaho; several nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and nephews; and cousins and six God-children. He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents; one brother, Martin; and two uncles and aunts. (Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck)

Janice Edwards
ROGERS -- Janice Edwards, 60, Rogers, died Jan. 3, 2001 at her home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at Bethel Lutheran Church, Rogers, with burial in Dazey Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Thomas; two sons, Shawn Thilmony, Mandan, and Todd Thilmony, Bismarck; a daughter, Rhonda Thilmony, Denver, Colo.; her mother, Olga Ludwig, Valley City; and a brother, James, Rogers. Marilyn B. Feland
MINOT -- Marilyn B. Feland, 67, Minot, died Jan. 5, 2001 of injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Burlington. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot. She is survived by her husband, Guy R., Minot; her sons, David, Steele, and Michael, Thailand; her daughters, Darla R. Fandrich, Minot, Allison Ambuehl, Aberdeen, S.D., and Amy Anderson, Anchorage, Alaska; nine grandchildren; her mother, Elsie V. Barden, Minot; her brothers, Lowell Barden, Milwaukee, Wis., and Lance Barden, Fargo; and one sister, Janice Hanson, McGregor. (Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot)

HAZELTON -- Herman Gimbel, 85, Hazelton, died Jan. 6, 2001 in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hazelton. Further arrangements are pending with Myers Funeral Home, Linton.

Mary Odermann
MINOT -- Mary Odermann, 45, Minot, died Jan. 6, 2001 in a Minot hospital. Arrangements are pending with Johnson Funeral Home, Parshall.

Mary Margaret Reynolds
ELLENDALE -- Mary Margaret Reynolds, 72, Ellendale, died Jan. 5, 2001 in the Ellendale care center. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at Church of the Nazarene, Ellendale, with burial in North Dakota Veterans' Cemetery, rural Mandan, at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. She is survived by three sons, Stephen, Osnabrock, William Jr., Saginaw, Minn., and Nathaniel, Bismarck; five daughters, Phyllis Thompson, St. Paul, Minn., Mary Kirk, Cloquet, Minn., Colleen Page, Ward, S.D., Trista Reynolds, Jamestown, and Alexis Reynolds, Ellendale; and 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. (Carlsen-Holte Funeral Home, Ellendale)

Gladys Weippert
STEELE -- Gladys Weippert, 67, Steele, entered into her eternal rest with her Heavenly Father on Jan. 5, 2001 in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, at Seventh-day Adventist Church, Bismarck, with the Revs. Ray Kelsch and Daniel Rebsomen officiating. Spring burial will be in Tuttle Cemetery. Visitation will be from noo-4 p.m. today at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, and from 5-9 p.m. tonight at Eastgate Steele Chapel, and continue Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the church. Gladys Irene Rath was born on Oct. 25, 1933 at Tuttle, the daughter of John H. Jr. and Alvina (Schmierer) Rath. Gladys married Lewis Sonsteng and they had a son, Lewis Jr. She later married Walter Johnson and they had four children, David, Dorothy, Doris and Reinheart. Walter died on Sept. 1, 1975. She then married Jonathan Weippert on Oct. 8, 1976. When they got married, they lived on a farm near Robinson with Reinheart and their granddaughter, Debbie. They later moved to Steele and retired. Gladys enjoyed playing cards, visiting people and gardening. She enjoyed her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren immensely. She was a woman of strong faith and loved reading her Bible and going to church. Gone with the Angels, she leaves behind her loving husband of 24 years, Jonathan; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lewis and Barb, Plainville, Kan., and Reinheart and Pam, Jamestown; one daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Sheldon, McClusky; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind five sisters and three brothers-in-law, Anna Charbonneau, Spokane, Wash., Elizabeth Dockter, Hurdsfield, Martha and Theodore Haibeck, Tuttle, Dorene and Armin Morlock, Bismarck, and Sally and Floyd Seibel, Sterling; one brother, Richard Rath, Tuttle; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter; one daughter, Doris; one son, David; one sister, Rose; and one brother, Edwin. Gladys was greatly loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
