She is survived by two sons, Kenneth, Appleton, Minn., and Arnold, Niantic, Conn.; two daughters, Mamie Skurdal, Williston, and Edna Broome, Tucson, Ariz.; one sister, Hilda Hanson, Williston; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

JAMESTOWN -- Emily J. Beach, 43, Jamestown, died Jan. 29, 2000, in her home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at United Methodist Church, New Rockford, with burial in Prairie Home Cemetery, New Rockford. She is survived by one son, Gary Nilson, Commerce City, Colo.; her mother, Barbara Schrum, New Rockford; four brothers, Richard Schrum, Mounds, Okla., Ervin Schrum, Springs, Texas, Wilbur Schrum, Raeford, N.C., and Bob Schrum, Dickinson; and three sisters, Marlyn Morris, Tulsa, Okla., Lois Larson, Carrington, and Elaine Renshaw, Royse City, Texas. DICKINSON -- Marguerite Conlon, 59, Dickinson, died Feb. 1, 2000, in the Dickinson hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. MST Thursday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson. Further arrangements are pending at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson.

Lillian Ruby Delzer
Lillian Ruby Delzer was stillborn Jan. 28, 2000, in a Bismarck hospital. Private services were held February 1 at Eastgate Funeral Service. Lillian is survived by her parents, Jeb and Jennifer Delzer; one sister, Alexandria; one brother, Alexander; her grandparents, Sue McWilliams, Al McWilliams, and Dennis and Linda Delzer; and her great-grandparents, Keith and Betty Gipson, Mac and Toby McWilliams, Agnes Allmendinger and Rebecca Beglau. She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Reinhold and Ruby Delzer, Herbert Beglau and Terry Allmendinger; and her great-great-grandparents, Floyd and Lillian Gipson.

Clifton Dunn
Clifton Dunn, 90, LaMoure, died Jan. 31, 2000, in the Oakes hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, LaMoure, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Lucy; three sons, William, LaMoure, Edward, Fargo, and Ambrose, Edgeley; four daughters, Therisa Hauser, Hebron, Mary Kusekoski, Aberdeen, S.D., Lucy Stroh, Grand Rapids, and Tillie Heupel, Colorado Springs, Colo.; 22 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. Ellis Roger Eisenbeis
Ellis Roger Eisenbeis, 59, better known as "Animal," 4336 Claridge Loop, died Feb. 1, 2000, in Bismarck. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Faith Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Joel Sherer officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Visitation will be from 6-9 tonight, and 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Thursday at Perry Funeral Home, Mandan, and will continue at the church one hour before services. Ellis was born Aug. 3, 1940, in Logan County, to Edwin and Lea (Martel) Eisenbeis. He attended schools in LaMoure and Wishek, and started driving over the road semis as a young man. He drove for various trucking companies for 40 years, including Peavey, Clairmont Construction, and F.T. Banning. For a short period of time he operated his own trucking business known as Calico Company. Ellis collected belt buckles and model cars. Trucking was his life but he also loved to spend time with his two granddaughters. Because of health reasons he retired in1995. He is survived by his wife, Carol; one daughter and son-in-law, Lynette and Randy Thorson; two granddaughters, Shannon and Amber, South St. Paul, Minn.; his mother, Lea Ketterling, Wishek; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Kathy Eisenbeis, Fargo; and many special friends. Ellis is preceded in death by his father; and one sister, Mavis Baumann. The family prefers memorials to the North Dakota Association for the Disabled.

Michael Albrecht, 11, 324 Apollo Ave., Bismarck, died Jan. 28, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. Arrangements are pending with Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan.

Leo Clarence Benz
Leo Clarence Benz, 78, Bismarck, died a peaceful death Jan. 29, 2001, at his home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Todd Hyden officiating. Burial will be at 9 a.m. Thursday in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Perry Funeral Home, Mandan, where a family prayer service will be held at 5 p.m. Leo was born Jan. 5, 1923, in Killdeer, to Frank and Barbara Benz. He grew up on the family farm north of Dunn Center, attending Connally School District No. 2 and graduated from Dunn Center High School in 1941. He enlisted in the V-5 program in 1941 and was called in 1943 to the U.S. Navy. He was discharged April 6, 1946, having served in the Pacific Theater. In September Leo entered Dickinson State Teacher's College, attending two terms. He transferred to NDSU and graduated in 1952 with a degree in agricultural engineering. After three years in the BIA, he returned to NDSU where he graduated with a M.S. in agricultural engineering. He worked on his Ph.D. at Utah State University. His life was dedicated to working on problems of soil salinity, drainage and irrigation with the Northern Great Plains Research Center. He was on the professional staff from 1957 until he retired in 1986. In 1951 Leo married his college sweetheart, Louise Kyllo. Together they raised four children: one girl and three boys. Family was very important to him. He enjoyed watching them grow and develop. His love of the great outdoors was expressed in camping, hunting, fishing and photography, and he taught his sons and daughter to love the same. Leo was an avid outdoorsman, who especially enjoyed the autumn when he harvested his garden and taught his children and grandchildren to enjoy North Dakota's natural resources. He was devoted to his family. He is fondly remembered for overcoming adversity, his family leadership, and teaching his family how to live life to the fullest. Leo was an active member in Trinity Lutheran Church, Professional Engineers, ASAE, Soil Conservation Society of America, VFW, Elks, American Geophysical Society, and the Wednesday morning breakfast club. He was also on the Board of Directors for the Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center. Leo is survived by his wife, Louise; one daughter, Linda Benz-Maddalena, Bismarck; three sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Paul and Cassandra, Seattle, Drs. Bruce and Karen, Fort Worth, Texas, and L. John and Jodeane, Bismarck; 10 grandchildren; three sisters, Irene Wilhelm, Circle, Mont., Elsie Foster, Lancaster, Calif., and Darlene Weisz, Urbandale, Iowa; seven brothers, Alvin, Mandan, Harold, Bernie, and Henry, all of Killdeer, Reuben and Ernest, both of Dunn Center, and Frank, Loveland, Colo.; and 45 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Walter. The family prefers memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church Trust Fund, Bismarck.

Kathy R. Bichler
Kathy R. Bichler, 50, Bismarck, died Jan. 27, 2001, at a local hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, with the Rev. Thomas E. Kramer officiating. Burial will be in the spring at St. Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. today at Eastgate Funeral Service, where a vigil service and rosary will be held at 7 p.m., and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Kathy Regina Jangula was born July 15, 1950, in Bismarck, the daughter of Andrew and Isabella Jangula. Kathy grew up on a farm west of Linton and attended schools in Linton and Strasburg. She graduated from Emmons County Central High School with honors. Kathy married Robert Bichler on April 21, 1969. They resided in Bismarck. Kathy enjoyed people and had a gift of making friends and visiting with them. She was always ready to help anybody in need. The greatest joys in her life were her husband, children, and grandsons. Grateful to have shared her life are her husband, Bob; one son and daughter-in-law, Troy and Joetta, Bismarck; one daughter and son-in-law, Shelly and Lance Davis, Cleveland, Ohio; two grandsons, Kyle and Brandon Davis, Cleveland, Ohio; one brother and sister-in-law, Andy and Nora Jangula, Bismarck; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Alice and Joe Olheiser, Streeter, and Diane and Tony Rothacker, Bismarck. She had a great love for her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and three special aunts, Rose, Arlene and Luella. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; and her parents, Andrew and Isabella Jangula.

Anna Calheim
Turtle Lake -- Anna Calheim, 76, Turtle Lake, died Jan. 28, 2001, at her home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Turtle Lake, with the Rev. Wilfred Hanson officiating. Burial will be in Mercer Cemetery, Mercer. Casketbearers will be Travis Thompson, Henry Mantz, Keith Mantz, Rick Bentz, Gerald Zimmer and Clifford Bentz. Visitation will be held from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the church. Anna Loretta Thompson was born Feb. 19, 1924, at rural McClusky, to Oscar and Mabel (Anvold) Thompson. She grew upon her parents' farm north of McClusky and attended rural school. Anna married Elmer Calheim Oct. 8, 1943, at Washburn. The couple farmed north of Mercer for five years. In 1949 they began farming north of McClusky. They retired from farming in 1971 and moved to Turtle Lake. Elmer passed away Feb. 4, 1984. Anna continued to work at Vi's Cafe and Turtle Lake Public Library until her retirement in 1996. Anna enjoyed spending time in her yard. She loved gardening, reading, fishing and baking. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Turtle Lake. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Loretta, Bismarck; two daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Ardell Helm, Menoken, and Brenda and Wayne Christensen, Bismarck; nine grandchildren, Dennis Calheim, Mark Helm, Wayne Helm, Dale Helm, Michael Helm, Tammy Baumgartner, Kristi Voth, Lacie Christensen and Shawn Christensen; four great-grandchildren; five sisters, Grace Meyer and Doris Bentz, both of McClusky, and Videll Mantz, Shirley Hornbacher, and Phyllis Wahl, all of Bismarck; two brothers, Donald Thompson, Bismarck, and Douglas Thompson, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer; and one brother, Harley. (Goetz Funeral Home, Turtle Lake)

Eugene P. Malo, 75, Bismarck, formerly of Rolla, died Jan. 27, 2001, in a Bismarck care center. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joachim Catholic Church, Rolla. Burial will be in St. Mary's Maryville Cemetery in the spring. He is survived by his wife, Marie Ann; three daughters, Linda Engmann, Bismarck, Colleen Graber, Rolette, and Nancy McCloud, Rolla; five sons, Randy, Rugby, James, Crookston, Minn., Tom, Soddy Daisy, Tenn., Steve, Las Vegas, and Rod, Sundance, Wyo.; 21 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Wilfred, Bismarck, and Paul, Rolette; and three sisters, Alma Casavant and Rita Boe, both of Devils Lake, and Jeanine Zeffro, Naples, Fla. Ruben Renz, 71, Mobridge, S.D., died Jan. 27, 2001, in the Mobridge hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at Trinity Lutheran Church, Mobridge. Burial will be at 1 p.m. MST Thursday in Sturgis, S.D. He is survived by his wife, Ernestine; one daughter, Becky Krieger, Junction City, Colo.; one stepson, Les Sunderland Jr., Arlington, Va.; one stepdaughter, Lois Aberle, Pierre, S.D.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, August Jr., Herreid, S.D.; and three sisters, Lizzie Quenzer and Emma Berndt, both of Herreid, S.D., and Lenora Rau, Eureka, S.D. Michael was born Jan. 20, 1990, in Bismarck, the son of LeRoy and Theresa (Albrecht) Held. Michael was raised and educated in Bismarck. He is survived by his parents; his grandparents, Lawrence and Rita Albrecht, Lincoln, and Don and Cecelia Wagy, Mandan; two sisters, Samantha and Katie, Lincoln; and special friends, the staff at Apollo Group Home, Bismarck. He was preceded in death by one grandfather, Jerome Held.

HAZEN -- Katherine N. Bohrer, 88, Hazen, died Jan. 28, 2001, in the Beulah nursing home. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Peace Lutheran Church, Hazen. Burial will be in the church cemetery. She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, LaRue and Albert Schwarz, Hazen, Juanita Zeller, Stockton, Calif., and Paulette and Terry Bates, San Jose, Calif.; two sons, Byron Knell, Portland, Ore., and Jack Neumann, Bismarck; one sister, Lorentina Zeiszler, Beulah; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Arnold and Ida Knell, and Alvin and Marcella Knell, all of Hazen, and Walter and Deloris Knell, Bismarck; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Inez O. Johnson, 84, Rancho Mirage, Calif., formerly of Bismarck, died Jan. 14, 2001, at Rancho Mirage of natural causes. Burial was in Pacific View Cemetery, Newport Beach, Calif. She is survived by her husband, James; one son, Jay, La Crescenta, Calif.; one daughter, Lynn, Newport Beach, Calif.; two grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
