Gertrude Redmann
Gertrude "Gertie" Redmann, 78, of Glen Ullin, formerly of Beulah, died Thursday, November 7, 2002 at the Marian Manor Healthcare Center in Glen Ullin. Her funeral service was held Saturday, November 9 at 10 a.m. at the Evangelical Congregational Church in Glen Ullin with the Rev. Jeff Doll officiating.
Burial was in the Glen Ullin Cemetery, Glen Ullin.
Gertrude was born in rural Glen Ullin September 21, 1924, the daughter of John and Eva (Stauss) Wetzel, Sr. She was raised and educated in rural Glen Ullin and later in the Bluegrass area.
She helped on the farm and at home with the smaller children and domestic duties. She married Henry Redmann November 11, 1943 at Glen Ullin, ND.
Following their marriage they farmed his parent’s place until they retired in 1980.
In 1984 they moved to Beulah where Gertie worked at the Beulah Nursing Center for a couple of years.
She enjoyed painting, crocheting, quilting, baking and playing pinochle. She was a member of the Beulah Congregational Church and the Friendly Circle.
She is survived by her husband, Henry, of Glen Ullin; one daughter LaVerna (Frank) Rysavy, Sharon, ND and one son Clinton, rural Beulah.
She also leaves two grandchildren Michelle Edgar, Warren, MN and Rick Rysavy, Fargo and one great grandchildren, Jacob Edgar. Other survivors are two sisters Wilda Owens, Bismarck, ND and Vandora Gappert, New Salem; one brother John Wetzel, Glen Ullin, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers - Gust, Adolph, Edwin, Joe and Emil.

Frieda Kitzan
Frieda Kitzan, 90, Glen Ullin, formerly of Hebron died Thursday, November 7, 2002 at the Marian Manor Healthcare Center in Glen Ullin.
Her funeral service was held Monday, November 11, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Hebron with the Rev. Gabor Tamas officiating.
Frieda was born February 19, 1912, the daughter of Adam and Karolina (Sayler) Zimmerman at Eagles Nest, ND. She was raised and educated in the rural area.
In 1931, at a revival meeting, she accepted the Lord as her Savior.
She worked on the farm with her parents until she married Emil Kitzan, September 9, 1935 at Hebron.
Following their marriage they farmed in rural Hebron until 1957 when they moved into town where she worked for the Hebron Sport Center for 13 years.
Frieda liked to bake and cook German foods. She was in the church choir for many years as well as a member of the Guiding Light Society and the Brick City Senior Citizens.
Her husband, Emil, passed away in June, 1992. Frieda moved to the Marian Manor Nursing Home in Glen Ullin in November 1996 where she has since lived.
Frieda died Thursday, November 7, 2002 at the Marian Manor.
She is survived by her daughters Viola (Robert) Robillard, Bismarck, ND; Marlene (Ervin) Gomke, Mandan and Kathy (Ron) Gappert, Bismarck, ND and one son Harold (Joyce) Glen Ullin, ND.
She also leaves nine grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters Anna and Caroline and two brothers Ed and Rudy.
Spangelo Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Adam Emter
Adam Emter, 88, Glen Ullin, died Friday, November 18, 2002 at the Marian Manor Healthcare Center. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m. Monday, November 11, 2002 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glen Ullin with the Rev. Sebastian Schmidt, OSB as Celebrant.
Burial was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Glen Ullin.
Adam was born at St. Joe March 4, 1914, the son of Valentine and Mary (Schaaf) Emter. He was raised and educated in the St. Joe area.
Adam married Stella Kobilansky, November 5, 1935 at Glen Ullin.
Following their marriage they farmed for many years until 1960 when they retired from farming and moved into Glen Ullin.
Adam then worked construction and built homes with Joe Hellman.
He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, camping and gardening.
He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus and the St. Joe Men’s Society.
Adam died Friday morning, November 18 at the Marian Manor Healthcare Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a son Anton and a daughter, Diane Muggli. He was also preceded in death by four brothers – Matt, Ed, Frank and Val and three sisters – Rose, Eva and Anna.
He is survived by two sons Adalbert "Al" (Lucille) of Beulah, ND and John, Bismarck, ND; one daughter-in-law, Marian Emter, Bismarck and one son-in-law, Leander Muggli, Colorado Springs, CO; fourteen grandchildren – Kerry (Pam) Emter, Gary (Karla) Emter, Shari (Jamie) Pfaff, Terri (Jesse) Schutte, Dale Emter, Troy Emter, Della (Dan) Antisdel, Dean (Penny) Emter, Tamara Emter, Brenda (Curt) Ellingson, Jean (Jay) Hauser, Darrin Muggli, Jody Muggli, Gina (Tim) Biolchini and 18 great grandchildren, a sister Lena Pearson, Glen Ullin and two brothers, Ray of California and Tony, Washington.
Spangelo Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Nina Hassebrock
Nina Hassebrock, 92, Richardton, formerly of Hebron, ND, died Thursday, November 7, 2002 at the Richardton Health Center.
Her memorial service will be held Saturday, November 16, 2002 at the St. John Church in Hebron at 10:30 a.m.
Burial of ashes will be in Beach, ND at a later date.
Nina was born August 16, 1910 at Vermont, Illinois, the daughter of Walker W. and Ura Mae (Peak) Wyckoff. She was raised and educated in rural Beach and rural Sentinel Butte where she graduated from high school.
She attended and graduated from Dickinson State University and taught in rural schools near Hebron, at Tappen and Center.
She retired in 1967.
Following retirement she resided in Hebron. She was a 50 year member of the Happy Homemakers, was a member of the St. John Church and the Women’s Guild.
Nina liked to have coffee and visit, she liked to garden and share whatever she had with people.
She died Thursday, November 7, 2002 at Richardton at the age of 92.
She is survived by her daughter Marian (Herbert) Chrudimsky, Wibaux, MT; one son, Delroy Kramer, Missoula, MT and one daughter-in-law, Birdie Brettin.
She leaves 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four husbands, two brothers Paul and Robert, two sisters Lena and Nedra, one son Marvin and one great grandson.
Spangelo Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy Adamson
Dorothy Adamson, 58, Mountain Home, Idaho, died Sunday, November 3, 2002 at a Boise Care Facility of complications from diabetes. Dorothy had struggled a long and courageous battle with diabetes.
Dorothy was born April 12, 1944 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Phillip and Mary Lapp. She graduated from high school in North Dakota in 1962.
Following graduation she moved to California where she met and married William Adamson. They had two sons Greg and Leon (Charlie).
They later divorced and Dorothy moved to North Dakota, Wyoming and then back to Idaho in 1984 where she worked for the Mountain Home School District for 15 years.
Dorothy fought long and hard with her diabetes and encountered many difficult situations. She had kidney failure in 1992 and needed a kidney transplant. Her sister Rozella was giving enough to donate her kidney to her sister.
Following her surgery, Dorothy’s health improved and she was able to get out of the house and continue living a healthy life.
Dorothy had another setback in 1997 when a foot was amputated due to the diabetes. Dorothy retired from the Mountain Home School District in 1999 to spend more time at home and with her grandchildren Rebecca and Jared.
Dorothy loved being around Jared. He made her smile and gave her the will to live until she was too tired to fight. Dorothy was a very giving and caring person. Anyone who met her could not help but enjoy being around her warm and loving personality.
Although Dorothy’s diabetes limited her to what she could do, she did not complain about her situation. She will be missed by all those who knew her. Dorothy is now free of pain and suffering. Even though she is no longer on this earth, we know that she is looking down on us and saying "I am okay now".
Dorothy is survived by her son Leon (Charlie) Adamson and daughter-in-law Melanie Hale Adamson of Mountain Home, her grandchildren Rebecca Hale and Jared Adamson and Ed Rabitoy, brother-in-law of Mountain Home, Rozella Benson of St. Cloud, MN, brother-in-law Albert Lennick of Clements, MN, sister-in-law Hazel McCay, sister-in-law Jo-Anne Lapp of Baldwin, MI; Lydia and brother-in-law Sam Houston of Mountain Home, Bill and sister-in-law Betty Lapp of Bismarck, ND; Betty and brother-in-law LaVern Schilling of Glen Ullin, ND; Shirley and brother-in-law Paul Enzie of Bismarck, ND; Phillip and sister-in-law Sandy of Florida and many many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents Phillip and Mary Lapp, her son Greg, her brothers Herb, Adam, Edwin, Raymond, Arnie and Elmer, her sisters Rachel, Lee and Martha.
Memorials may be made in Dorothy’s name to a charity of your choice.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 7, 2002 at Mountain View Cemetery, Mountain Home, Idaho.
Pastor Bob Jewell officiated. Honorary pallbearers were Ed Rabitoy, Rex Snideman, Chuck Farnsworth, LaVern Schilling, Sam Houston, David Hoskins and Scott Montrose.
Arrangements were by Summers Funeral Homes, McMurtrey Chapel, Mountain Home, Idaho.
