Sean T. Kelly
CARRINGTON -- Sean T. Kelly, 35, Burnsville, Minn., died July 2, 2000, in Burnsville. Services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Carrington, with burial in Carrington Cemetery. He is survived by his children, Preston and Payton, both of Auburn, Wash.; his father, Richard, Auburn; one sister, Megan McMasters, Auburn; and two brothers, Damon, Federal Way, Wash., and Christopher, Auburn. Marie L. Koppenhaver
GRAND FORKS -- Marie L. Koppenhaver, 90, Grand Forks, died July 3, 2000, in the Lisbon hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Lutheran Church, Grand Forks, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery, Grand Forks. She is survived by three sons, Richard, Grand Forks, Bruce, Savage, Minn., and Michael, Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Emmet Magill, Helena, Mont., and Joseph Magill, Sierra Vista, Ariz. Anna Lennie
NEW SALEM -- Anna Lennie, 96, New Salem, died July 4, 2000, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. MDT Saturday at Peace Church, New Salem. Burial will be in Peace Cemetery, New Salem. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Elm Crest Nursing Home in New Salem, and will continue after 2 p.m. Friday at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, New Salem. Visitation will also be held at the church one hour before services. Anna Dettmann was born Sept. 15, 1903, in Judson, the daughter of Frank and Emma (Graff) Dettmann. She worked as a chamber maid at the Metropolitan Hotel in New Salem prior to her marriage to Emil Lennie on Dec. 16, 1922, in Judson. A lady whose hands were never idle, she enjoyed tatting, knitting, crocheting and quilting. She also relished a good game of cards, particularlly bridge, and the visiting with friends that accompanied the playing. She was able to remember much of the history of the families in the New Salem and Judson area and was the family member everyone looked to for information on the past. A member of the Peace Church Womens Guild and the New Salem Community Club, Anna was also an excellent cook and had been able to live in her own home until earlier this year. She is survived by her daughter, Blanche Hobbs, Bothel, Wash.; her son and daughter-in-law, Eldon and Linda; seven grandchildren, Jim and Jerry Hobbs, Janelle Woolsey, Kelly Hobbs, Kim Fahlsing, Shelly Van Cleve and Shannon Lennie; 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Ardys Dettmann, Bremerton, Wash., and LaVerne Dettmann, Pierre, S.D. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil, who died on Sept. 21, 1981; three sisters, Alma Neas, Evelyn Barthel and Louise Tjaden; three brothers, Albert, Hugo and Clayton; and her son-in-law, Frank Hobbs.

Raymond J. Patton
Raymond J. Patton, 78, Bismarck, died July 3, 2000, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Church of Corpus Christi, with the Rev. Arnold Spain officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, both at Eastgate Funeral Service, and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. A rosary and vigil service will be said at 7 tonight. Ray was born on Nov. 3, 1921, the son of Patrick and Alice (Murphy) Patton. He grew up on a farm near Regan, graduating from Regan High School. Immediately following graduation, and at the age of 16, he joined the 164th Infantry, the first National Guard unit mobilized in World War II. After service in the Pacific and notably at Guadacanal, he returned to North Dakota and married Mavis Janette Strand in 1945. They were married 35 years and raised five children. After losing Janie to cancer, Ray married Evelyn Nelson Kolden in July of 1982. In 1946, he joined Midwest Motor Express, where he worked for some 43 years, working first as a rate clerk, later as a terminal manager, general operations manager, and finally as vice president for operations, director of safety, and a member of the board of directors. He was an active leader in a number of civic and industry associations, serving as president of the North Dakota Motor Carriers Association, from whom he received the Pioneer Carrier award in 1992, and remained an active member of the Bismarck-Mandan Chamber of Commerce for some years. A family man who truly enjoyed times spent with his brothers, sisters, children and grandchildren, Ray also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and other outdoor activities. He loved to travel, and was selected to represent the 164th Infantry in the 1992 dedication of a memorial on Guadacanal. Ray was known for the humor, quick wit, and funny stories which enlivened his public speaking and his personal conversations. Ray is survived by his wife, Evelyn, Bismarck; five children and sons-in-law and daughters-in-law, Mike and Bobbie Patton, Bismarck, Harlan and Chantal Patton, Travelers Rest, S.C., Mary Jane and Harvey Kadrmas, Bismarck, Colleen and Dave Pearce, Bismarck, and Kathy and Dale Fleck, Bismarck; one stepson and his wife, Roger and Lee Kolden, Juneau, Alaska; one stepdaughter and her husband, Sandra and Bill Kennough, Foster City, Calif.; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Creighton Kettleson, Bismarck, Rose Ellen and Tom McCourt, Benton Harbor, Mich., and Pat and Dick Orman, Red Lodge, Mont.; one brother, Larry Bouche, Apache Junction, Ariz.; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and by innumerable colleagues, neighbors and friends. WILLISTON -- Charlotte Tone, 81, Williston, died July 4, 2000, in the Williston hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Williston. She is survived by her husband, Stanley. (Everson Funeral Home, Williston)

NEW ROCKFORD -- Duanne E. Trudeau, 72, New Rockford, died July 4, 2000, in a Fargo hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Evans Funeral Home, New Rockford.

WESTHOPE -- Winifred Wahl, 70, Westhope, died July 4, 2000, in the Westhope nursing home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Church of God, Garrison. Further arrangements are pending at Thompson Funeral Home, Garrison.

Elmer Wentz
Elmer Wentz, 82, Bismarck, died July 5, 2000, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Kermit Culver officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck, with military rites by VFW Post 1326. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Eastgate Funeral Service, and will continue at the church one hour before services. Elmer Wentz was born March 18, 1918, near Streeter, to William and Margaret (Trautman) Wentz. He was raised and educated near Streeter. Elmer married Tillie Holzworth on July 21, 1938, at Napoleon. He served in the U.S. Army from 1944 through 1945. After his discharge he was employed by Hugo Moeckel, Wentz Chevrolet and Siewert Implement in Napoleon as a mechanic. In 1968, he and Tillie moved to Bismarck. He was employed by various businesses until he retired in 1982. Elmer worked part-time as a mechanic for Taxi 9000. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and the American Legion. He was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by his family. He is survived by one daughter and two sons-in-law, Betty and Roger Becker, and Ed Vetter; his son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Kat Wentz; four grandsons, Michael Becker, Toby Jenner, and Robert and Brandon Vetter; one granddaughter, Bethany Vetter; one great-grandson, Lukas, all of Bismarck; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Art Wentz, Gackle, Reuben and Helen Wentz, Napoleon, Ervin and Alma Wentz, Oregon, and Marie Wentz, Gackle; one sister and brother-in-law, Elta and Milton Iszler, Gackle; and many nieces and nephews. Elmer was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Tillie, June 5, 2000; his daughter, Shirley Vetter; two baby sons, Norman and James Wentz; his grandson, Brian Becker; and his brother, Edward Wentz.

Gary Zotti
NEW TOWN -- Gary Zotti Jr., 32, Rapid City, S.D., died July 1, 2000, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Rapid City. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, New Town. Further arrangements are pending at Thompson Funeral Home, Garrison.

Galen Lee Anton
Galen Lee Anton, 38, Bismarck, formerly of Dickinson, died July 5, 2000 at his home of natural causes. Services will be held at 2 p.m. MDT Sunday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Dickinson. Further arrangements are pending with Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson.

WOODWORTH -- Margie M. Bohl, 67, Woodworth, died July 5, 2000 in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Woodworth. Further arrangements are pending with Evans Funeral Home, Carrington.

Lawrence Buck
HAZELTON -- Lawrence Buck, 89, Hazelton, died July 5, 2000 in the Strasburg care center. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, at Myers Funeral Home, Linton. Further arrangements are pending.

Magdalena Deitz
Magdalena Deitz, 91, Baptist Home, died July 3, 2000 in a local hospital. Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Church St. Mary, Bismarck, with the Rev. Charlie Heidt officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. today at Eastgate Funeral Service where a vigil will be held at 7 p.m. tonight. Magdalena was born April 25, 1909 at rural Glen Ullin to Anton and Rose (Michael) Weiss. She was raised and educated in the Glen Ullin area. She married Frank Deitz in June 1927 and they moved to Blue Grass. In 1943, they moved to Center and in 1959, they moved to Bismarck where she was employed at St. Alexius Hospital. She retired in 1974. She was active in Altar Society, Catholic Daughters, St. Jude's Mission, and Capitol City Quilters. Her greatest joy was quilting and making hand made presents for her children and grandchildren. She is survived by six children, Edward, Grand Forks, Claudia Copitos, Prescott, Ariz., Eugene, Tacoma, Wash., Yvonne Meier, Prescott, Ariz., Marvin, Harrison, Idaho, and Sylvia Wetzel, Costa Mesa, Calif.; 21 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; and one daughter, Agnes Hanson. (Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck)

Helen Dupuy
Helen Dupuy, 87, Mandan, died July 3, 2000, in a Mandan care center. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. today at Bismarck Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cimarron, Kan. Helen dearly loved her family and enjoyed visiting with them at home, she did an excellent job of raising her sons as a widow. She enjoyed the Mandan Care Center personnel who gave her wonderful care and attention. She is survived by two sons, Nathan and wife Pat Osbourn, Bismarck, Dennis Osbourn and friend JoAnn Keeler, Franktown, Colo.; three grandchildren, Lisa Kittleson, St. Louis Park, Minn., Sandy Spesshardt, Everett, Wash.; and one great-granddaughter, Katie Kittleson, St. Louis Park. She is preceded in death by her husband, Russell Osbourn and Jack Dupuy; her parents, three sisters and two brothers. (Bismarck Funeral Home)

He is survived by four sons, Tim, of Pinellas Park, Fla.; Paul, Georgia; Randy, of Lawrenceville, Ga.; Mike, Avon Park, Fla.; two sisters, Gertrude Moser, Woodworth, and Mae Parker, Mayflower, Ark.; two brothers, Alfred, Jamestown, and Ken, Mayflower, Ark.
