JAMESTOWN -- Emma Richardson, 95, Jamestown, died Feb. 28, 2001, in Jamestown. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, Jamestown, with burial in Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown.
She is survived by one son, Robert, Jamestown; one daughter, Nancy Paulsrud, Beulah; six grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; six step-great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Tillie Unruh, Kissimmee, Fla., and Leona Thomas, St. Petersburg, Fla. Elaine Rodenkirck
GLEN ULLIN -- Elaine Marie Hansen Rodenkirck, 69, Marian Manor Nursing Home, Glen Ullin, died Feb. 26, 2001, in the nursing home. Cremation is taking place.
She was born March 7, 1931, at Hunter, the daughter of Thorvald F. and Helga L. Hansen.
Elaine is survived by five daughters and one son-in-law, Anita L. Kitchen, Aloha, Ore., Terry L. DeWerff and Robyn L. Stewart, both of Bismarck, Josey S. McCormick, Vancouver, Wash., and Penny J. and Gary Nuckols, El Cajon, Calif.; four sons and one daughter-in-law, James K. Sanders, Colorado, Michael W. and Lorri Stewart, Bismarck, Randy A. Stewart, Bismarck, and David W. Rodenkirck, Bismarck; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. (Boelter Funeral Home)

Arlene Schmidt
Arlene Schmidt, 72, Mandan, died March 1, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church, Mandan. Further arrangements are pending at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan.

Donald Stewart
Donald K. Stewart, 95, Bismarck, died Feb. 28, 2001, in a local hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at McCabe United Methodist Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Rick Fossum officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.
Visitation will be from noon-9 p.m. today at Eastgate Funeral Service, and will continue at the church one hour before services.
Donald K. Stewart was born April 23, 1905, on a Benson County farm homesteaded by his parents, Isaac G. Stewart and Annette (Staples) Stewart. Donald grew up on the farm and attended the Stewart Rural School in Tilden Township near Brinsmade. He married Jennie A. Larson on Sept. 21, 1929. They lived on the Stewart homestead prior to moving to Fort Wayne, Ind., where Donald worked for the General Electric Corporation. They returned to North Dakota and farmed near Brinsmade and operated grocery stores in Brinsmade and Edmore. They moved to Devils Lake in 1956 and resided there until Donald's retirement from the North Dakota State Highway Department's Truck Regulatory Division. Donald and Jennie moved to Bismarck in 1972 to be close to family. Jennie died in 1991.
Donald was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and held a special place in the heart of his family and enjoyed helping them celebrate St. Patrick's Day. As the "head of the Stewart clan," Donald was a great role model and positive influence in the lives of his family and extended family members. He was a member of McCabe United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge, and held a life membership in the North Dakota Peace Officers Association.
Donald is survived by one sister, Dorothy E. Gilman, Gladstone, Ore.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Mary Ann, Indianapolis, Ind., and Donald Jr. and Lydia, Lubbock, Texas; four daughters, Dorothy Wavrin, Bismarck, Dolores and Wes Western, Mandan, Margaret Farnsworth, Fargo, and Sharon and Arnold Bendish, Fort Rice; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Jennie; four brothers, Shirl, George, Charlie and Harry; three sisters, Nell (Mrs. John Hunter), Maude (Mrs. Homer Spaulding), and Marjorie (Mrs. Earl Buswell); and by sons-in-law, Wayne Wavrin and Gerald Farnsworth.
The family prefers memorials to McCabe United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, the Hospice Fund, North Dakota Cancer Society or the donor's choice.

Herbert Vietz
MCCLUSKY -- Herbert Vietz, 85, McClusky, died March 1, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Seventh-day Adventist Church, McClusky. Further arrangements are pending at Hertz Funeral Home, McClusky.

Margaret Burrer
HERREID, S.D. -- Margaret L. Burrer, 72, Herreid, died Feb. 28, 2001, in a Herreid care center. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Carlsen Funeral Home, Eureka, with burial in Artas Cemetery.

She is survived by four sons, Kirby Kirschenmann and Emil Kirschenmann, both of Bismarck, Donald Kirschenmann, Minneapolis, and Richard Kautz, Ogden, Utah; three daughters, Betty Lutz, Artas, Karen Hendrickson, Bismarck, and Ann Hodgman, Union Center; one brother, Francis Bobby, Ipswich; two sisters, Marie Dockter, Wishek, and Polly Hardt, Herreid; and 11 grandchildren.

Robert Chapin Sr.
NEW TOWN -- Robert Leroy Chapin Sr., 66, Keene, died Feb. 27, 2001, in his home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Four Bears Community Center, New Town, with burial in Brady Cemetery, Shell Creek.

He is survived by his wife, Violet; two sons, Robert Jr. and Link, both of New Town; two daughters, Reverta Chapin and Sherry Danks, both of New Town; one sister, Joyce Wells, Texas; and 14 grandchildren. (Fulkerson Funeral Home, Williston)

DeVerne Dunnum Sr.
KENSEL -- DeVerne G. "Dunny" Dunnum Sr., passed away March 1, 2001. He was born April 15, 1916, in Kensel, the son of Leonard Albert and Ida Mae Dunnum. He graduated from Kensel High School and North Dakota State University with a degree in pharmacy.

Doc married Edith Johansen on Jan. 4, 1937. He worked for Foss Drug in Valley City. He later owned and operated pharmacies in Page and Mayville. In 1960 he and his family moved to Seattle where he managed numerous Bartell Drug stores. In 1964 Dunny moved his family to the Tri-Cities where he managed Ray's Drug and Cresent Drug in Pasco and Kennewick. The last few years he was a relief pharmacist in the area.

Dunny was a member of the Moose, Eagles, Elks, Masonic Temple and Kennewick First Lutheran Church. His hobbies were fishing, hunting, horseback riding with his dear friend Perry Earley, baseball, pharmacy research and his family.

Dunny was a very loving and caring person who would help anyone he met. He always saw the best in people. He will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Edith, formerly of Page; one sister, D. Ione Hyatt, Seattle, Wash.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joann and Wayne Otterness, Bismarck, and Debbie and Larry Frankenfield, West Richland, Wash.; one son and daughter-in-law, DeVerne and Cathy Dunnum Jr., Burbank, Wash.; his grandchildren, Cary, Beth, Scott, Dusty, Mark, Kristy, Jenny, Aaron, Becky, Kevin, Jayme and Brian; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; two sisters; and a great-grandson.

A memorial service will be held in celebration of his life at Einan's Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Monday. Cards and letters can be sent to Mrs. Edith Dunnum, 919 Snow Ave., Richland, Wash. 99352.

Erwin Ehrmann
Erwin Ehrmann, 81, Mandan, died March 2, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. Arrangements are pending at Bismarck Funeral Home.

Ervin Gehring
Ervin Gehring, 73, Bismarck, died March 2, 2001, in a Bismarck care center. Arrangements are pending at Eastgate Funeral Service.

Edward Hoffner
ESMOND -- Edward Hoffner, 71, Esmond, died Feb. 28, 2001, in a Fargo hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Esmond, with burial in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Eileen; four sons, Robert, Esmond, John, Blaine, Minn., Danny, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Thomas, Fargo; two daughters, Elizabeth Georgioff, Florence, Ky., and Frances Molina, West Point, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; five brothers, "Buckshot," Bismarck, Raymond, Jack and Leo, all of Esmond, and Adrian, Devils Lake; and five sisters, Irene Dalstad, Rose Schwab and Patricia Heisler, all of Devils Lake, Margie Halvorson, Goldbar, Wash., and Dorothy Toso, Wooden Ville, Wash. Raymond Josephson
Raymond C. Josephson, 86, Bismarck, died March 1, 2001, in a Bismarck care center. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Tom Dunham officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck.

Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. Sunday at Eastgate Funeral Service, and will continue at the church one hour before services.

Raymond Charles was born Aug. 14, 1914, in Harriet Township, the son of Charles and Wendla Josephson. He grew up in Wing and attended school there. He was a member of Civilian Conservation Corp and helped build the Alaskan Highway. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II from 1942-1945. He returned to Bismarck and worked as a carpenter for Lunn Construction for about 35 years. He married Gertrude I. Kavonius on Sept. 24, 1945.

He is survived by one son, David, Menoken; five daughters and two sons-in-law, Ingrid Josephson, Edina, Minn., Ilona Josephson, Stillwater, Minn., Karen and James Metheny, West Fargo, Kay Josephson, Denver, and Becky and Robert Scaggs, Spring, Texas; five grandchildren and their spouses, Randy Josephson, and Leaha and Corey Sprenger, Bismarck, and Sareah, Jennifer and Emily Scaggs, Spring, Texas; two brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Lela, Peoria, Ill., and Donald and Norma, Billings, Mont.; and three sisters, Helen Juhala, Bismarck, Mildred Rova and Nina Voigt, both of Jamestown.

Henry Ketterling
ZEELAND -- Henry Ketterling, 85, Zeeland, died March 1, 2001, in the Ashley hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Zeeland, with burial in the church cemetery.

He is survived by two sisters, Freida Rudolf, Lehr, and Ernestine Rudolf, Wishek. (Haut Funeral Home, Wishek)

Berenice Klaudt
MEDINA -- Berenice G. Klaudt, 86, St. Cloud, died Feb. 26, 2001, in St. Cloud. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud, with burial in Medina Cemetery.

She is survived by one daughter, Dora, Waite Park, Minn.; one son, Robert; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Helen Klick
GLEN ULLIN -- Helen Klick, 95, Glen Ullin, died March 1, 2001, in Glen Ullin. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MST Monday at Spangelo Funeral Home, Hebron, with burial in St. John Cemetery, Hebron.

Visitation will be from 1-2:30 p.m. Sunday at Marian Manor Healthcare Center in Glen Ullin, and will continue one hour before the services at the funeral home.

Helen Eggert was born Nov. 17, 1905, in rural Dunn County, to Herman and Caroline (Reysz) Eggert. She was raised and received her early education in Dunn County. She graduated from Hebron High School in 1925. She continued her education at Dickinson Normal School, and taught in a country school in Dunn County. She attended Bismarck Business College and returned to Hebron where she worked at First National Bank. She married Arnold Klick, Aug. 25, 1929, at St. John's in Hebron. Sht worked on call at Urban's Inc. until the store closed in 1976. She entered Marian Manor in Glen Ullin in April 1990, where she has resided since. Arnold died Sept. 20, 1994.

She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ.

She is survived by one daughter, Lois Noah, Crookston, Minn.; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Tom and Terri Noah, Bill and Diane Noah, Karen and Jim Broekemeier, Jim and Shannon Noah, Kathy and Marty Duchscher, Dan and Janet Noah, and Susan Noah; 10 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Jaeger and Hedwig Spoer, Marian Manor in Glen Ullin; one brother-in-law, Harry Klick, Bismarck; and one sister-in-law, Irene Klick.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Elsie Hartman and Louise Ahl; and two brothers, Eric and Werner Eggert.

Clarion Larson
Clarion E. Larson, 94, Bismarck, died March 1, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Bismarck. Further arrangements are pending at Eastgate Funeral Service.

Harold Larson
BEULAH -- Harold Larson, 77, Beulah, died March 2, 2001, in a Beulah care center. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MST Monday at English Lutheran Church, Hazen. Further arrangements are pending at Seibel Funeral Home, Beulah.

Shirley Rolle
MADDOCK -- Shirley Rolle, 61, Maddock, died March 1, 2001, in her home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at ZionLutheran Church, Maddock. Further arrangements are pending at Nelson Funeral Home, Maddock.
