Inga T. Stenslie, 87, Watertown, S.D., formerly of Kensal, died Nov. 15, 2000, in a Watertown care center. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown. Burial will be in Kensal Cemetery. She is survived by two sons, Marshall, Kensal, and Rod, Bismarck; four daughters, Faye Capps, Rockport, Ill., Sherry Anderson, Herman, Minn., and Debby Martin and Julie Stenslie, both of Watertown; four brothers, Walter Vigesaa, Phoenix, Norman Vigesaa, Mansfield, Ohio, Vernon Vigesaa, Kensal, and Willard Vigesaa, Fargo; one sister, Lillian Gauderman, Fargo; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Oct. 12, 1964 in Mandan, the daughter of Marvin and Ardella (Dschaak) Wetzel. She was raised and educated at Glen Ullin and graduated from high school in 1983. For most of her life Brenda had to struggle with medical problems and had been disabled. She moved to Hazen in the fall of 1999. Brenda recently moved to Wilton where she had resided since. She is survived by her parents, Marvin and Ardella Wetzel, Glen Ullin; one brother, Marvin Jr., Glen Ullin; two sisters, Cindy Sturre, Big Sky, Mont., and Pam Wetzel, Hazen; and two nephews and one niece. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Nicole Venicky; one grandson; one granddaughter, all of Westerville, Ohio; his mother, Lorraine allmendinger, Bismarck; one brother, Bill Allmendinger, LaVista, Nev.; two half-sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Sam Spier, Dunnellon, Fla., and Betty and Edgar Binder, Bismarck; five nephews; two nieces; three grandnephews; and one grandniece. He was preceded in death by his father.

She is survived by one daughter, Rosecella Moline, Hazen; one son, Thomas Usselman, Boise; three brothers, Fred Menge, Beulah, and Oscar and Hubert Menge, both of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; three sisters, Lucille Kay, Tacoma, Wash., and Ella Binder and Lillian Hamby, both of Beulah; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. John Neal Klemer
John Neal Klemer, 72, Bismarck, died Nov. 16, 2000, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Mary Porter officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck. Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. today and Sunday at Boelter Funeral Home, and will continue at the church one hour before services. John was born
Feb. 6, 1928, in Grand Forks, the son of William J. and Mary (Rudser) Klemer. John was raised in Larimore, and graduated as valedictorian of Larimore High School class of 1946. He was also very proud of earning his Eagle Scout award. After high school, he and his friend, Emmett Johnson joined the U.S. Army, and served with the occupation forces stationed in Tokyo, Japan. He attended the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, where he was a member of the Varsity Bards choral group, the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity, and developed what was to be a life-long appreciation of Fighting Sioux sports teams, especially hockey. He earned a bachelor of science degree in geology from the school of engineering in 1952. He was employed with the Cities Service Oil Company in Casper, Wyo., and Bismarck, and the L.J. Williamson Drilling Company in Denver, before joining Steven H. Harris and James L. Brown in 1960, to form Harris Brown and Klemer Consulting Geologists. He was involved in the exploration, production and development of North Dakota's oil, gas and coal resources until his retirement in 1988. John was actively involved with the Dakota Zoo, serving on the board of the Dakota Zoological Society for many years, including a term as the society's president. He loved the zoo and especially loved to see the joy that a trip to the zoo would bring to the faces of young visitors, and liked to entertain zoo patrons by coaxing Clyde the kodiak bear to stand up and show off. He is survived by his wife, Joan (Bair); two sons, Lawrence, Bismarck, and Neal and his wife, Linda, Seattle; one sister, Peg Stokes and her husband, Wally, Williston; two nieces, Mary Paulsrud and her husband, Don, and son, Nicholas, Ashley; and Julie, St. Paul, Minn.; one brother-in-law, Jerry Bair and his wife, Mitzi, Santa Cruz, Calif.; and two sisters-in-law, Kathleen Bair, Bismarck, and Eileen Bisi, Alameda, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and mother; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dell and Lawrence Bair; his aunts, Ettie Klemer, Telle Rudser, Ruth Rudser, Sylvia Herther and Agnes Ring; and uncles, Karl Rudser, George Rudser and Ernie Rudser. In lieu of flowers, the family (and John) would prefer memorials to Dakota Zoo.

May 22, 1906, in Claire City, S.D. She was the daughter of Joseph and Barbara (Funk) Gaulkler. When she was one year old, her parents moved to North Dakota. She graduated from Lidgerwood High School and State Teacher's College of Valley City. She taught for 34 years in both rural and city schools. On Dec. 31, 1931, she was married
to Fred Schaner at Solen. The couple farmed in that area for 15 years before moving to Mandan. Her husband preceded her in death in 1976. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Gretchen and Robert Mischel, Olympia, Wash., and Rita and Ronald Bloom, Ryder; two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Betty Schaner, Auburn, Wash., and Dennis and Betty Schaner, Renton, Wash.; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Gaukler and Sister Rosalie, Red Deer, Alberta, Canada. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sisters; and four brothers.

April 6, 1922 at Arena, the daughter of Rudolph and Lydia (Matson) Harju. She graduated from Bismarck High School in 1939. She married
Lawrence Bailey on April 8, 1944 in Bismarck. They lived in the Mandan-Bismarck area for many years. Ellen taught in rural schools in Burleigh County and later worked for St. Vincent's Nursing Home until 1974. Ellen was an avid Minnesota Twins fan. She is survived by five grandchildren, LeAnne Tracey, Williston, Donald E. Bailey, Bismarck, Mike and Rick Bailey, and Brenda Evans, all of Illinois; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; two stepsons, Lawrence Jr. and Donald G., both of Arizona; two sisters, Eunice Korpi, Mountain Iron, Minn., and Judith Hogenson, Fairbanks, Alaska; and two brothers, Neal and Vernon Harju, Cokato, Minn.
