Cathleen D. Reisenauer
HETTINGER -- Cathleen D. Reisenauer, 50, died Nov. 24, 2000 in the Hettinger hospital. Services will be held at 1 p.m. MST Monday, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Hettinger, with burial in Hettinger Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Charles; five sons, Scott and Justin, both of Rapid City, S.D., Brent, Ames, Iowa, and Joshua and Tyler, both of Hettinger; two grandsons; her mother, Marguerite Schmaltz, Hettinger; one brother, Michael Schmaltz, Hettinger; and three sisters, Anita Schmaltz, DeAnn Steckler, and Cheryl Schmidt, both of Bismarck. Edna Voegele
MCCLUSKY -- Edna Voegele, 84, McClusky, died Nov. 23, 2000 in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, at Holy Family Catholic Church, McClusky, with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, McClusky. Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Hertz Funeral Home, McClusky and will continue from 6-8 p.m. with a rosary service at 7 p.m. at the church on Sunday. Edna Luella Schillinger was born icon on April 17, 1916 on the Morning Star Ranch south of Pickardville. She was the daughter of Edd and Lulu (Davenport) Schillinger. She moved with her family to Sioux Falls, S.D., Humbolt, S.D., and to Council Bluffs, Iowa. They returned to farm near Pickardville in 1933. She worked in Moorhead, Fargo, Chicago and Mandan. She returned to Fargo in 1940. She married icon David Voegele on July 23, 1943 in Fargo. They moved to a farm near Pickardville after David was honorably discharged from the army in 1945 after having served in World War II. They moved into McClusky in 1972. David died on Aug. 20, 1986. Edna was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the American Legion Auxiliary in McClusky. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Mariann, Richardton, Daniel and Dedree, Bismarck, William and Alberta, McClusky; grandchildren whom she dearly loved, Scott, Missy, Patrick, John, Teresa and her husband, Trent, Andrea and Erin; great-grandchild, Alexandra; one brother, Robert Schillinger and his wife, Pearl, Colorado Springs, Colo. Edna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David; her sisters, Delia and Elenore; one brother, Edward Joseph; and one granddaughter, Lucinda. (Hertz Funeral Home, McClusky)

Madeline E. Wahl
GOODRICH -- Madeline E. Wahl, 83, Roseville, Calif., and formerly of Goodrich, died Nov. 22, 2000 in a Roseville care center. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, at Peace Lutheran Church, Goodrich, with burial in Goodrich City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m.-noon Monday, both at Hertz Funeral Home, McClusky. Madeline Emily Posehn was born icon on Nov. 12, 1917 to Henry and Christina (Buehler) Posehn at Kronau, Saskatchewan, Canada. She moved with her family to Rio Linda, Calif. in 1923. She grew up there and attended high school. She was once married icon to Walter Wade. She raised her family and also worked for seven years at the Vineland School in Rio Linda. She married icon Clarence Wahl on March 14, 1971 in Rio Linda. They moved to Goodrich. He died on March 26, 1985. She continued to live in Goodrich. In 1988, she moved to Roseville, Calif. Madeline was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and the Pioneer Homemakers while living in Goodrich. She was also a member of the American Lutheran Church Women and served as a vice president in the organization. Madeline is survived by her son, Walter Wade Jr., Roseville, Calif.; her daughter, Judith Ann Wade, Roseville, Calif.; one sister, Rose Krueger, Roseville, Calif.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimers Association, P.O. Box 7452, Bismarck, ND, 58507-7452. (Hertz Funeral Home, McClusky)

Margaret K. Wald, 82, Bismarck, formerly of Linton, died Nov. 23, 2000 in a Bismarck care center. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Linton. Burial will be in the church cemetery. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Joe L. and Suzanne Wald, Wishek, Steve and Nancy Wald, Fargo; nine daughters and sons-in-law, Monica and John Dykema, Linton, Emma and Don Jackman, Renton, Wash., Ann and Bill Bosch, Fargo, Margie Wangen, Petersburg, Christine and Larry Freidig, Lake Stevens, Wash., Betty and Floyd Fetzer, Helen and Jerome Werlinger, Vi and Elmer Weigel, and Irene and Monte Felchle, all of Bismarck; 28 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Joe M. Wald, Wishek, Kasmir and Anna Mary Wald, Wishek, and Frank and Mary Wald, Mandan. (Myers Funeral Home, Linton)

NEW ROCKFORD -- Beatrice T. Zander, 94, New Rockford, died Nov. 24, 2000 in the New Rockford nursing home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, at St. John's Catholic Church, New Rockford, with burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Bremen. She is survived by one son, Myron, Las Vegas, Nev.; one daughter, Sharol Rogalla, Minto; seven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and one brother, Romeo Lies, New Rockford. HETTINGER -- Chris Zimmerman, 71, Hettinger, died Nov. 21, 2000 in a Bismarck hospital. He is survived by two sons, Ray, Bismarck, and Lauren, Hettinger; two daughters, Karen Brown, and Kathy Tuley, both of Hettinger; three brothers, Elmer and Henry, both of Hettinger, and Rueben, Lynden, Wash.; and one sister, Anita Mansfield, Minneapolis, Minn. WILLISTON -- Margaret Broe, 82, Williston, died Nov. 24, 2000 in the Williston nursing home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Williston. Further arrangements are pending with Everson Funeral Home, Williston.

Robert W. Clarke
Robert W. Clarke, a former attorney and retired Commander U.S. Navy died Nov. 21, 2000 at the age of 84. Services will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, at United Church of Pittsford, Pittsford, N.Y. Robert was born icon on April 3, 1916 in Needham, Ma. Robert was a graduate of Bowdoin College and Harvard Law School. Following his service in the Navy he worked for the law firm which ultimately became Woods, Oviatt, Gilman, Sturman and Clarke. He practiced law in Rochester, N.Y. until 1978 when he moved to an office in Boca Raton, Fla. He continued his practice there until retiring in 1991 at which time he moved to Palm City, Fla., and then to the Indian River Colony Club in Vierra, Fla. in 1998. Throughout his professional career, he was also very active in the American Hockey League. He was instrumental in bringing a team to Rochester, New York in 1956 and remained in an ownership role almost continuously through 1974. He initially became involved with the league when he was appointed the Chairman of the Board of Governors in 1967. He remained in that role for the next 27 years. He continues to be recognized through the presentation of a trophy bearing his name which is awarded to the Western Conference Champions of the American Hockey League. In addition, he is an honorary life member of the AHL's Board of Governors. Throughout his lifetime, Robert was very involved in his church as well as loving to fish and play golf. He was most recently a member of the Suntree United Methodist Church in Melbourne. He was predeceased by his first wife, Jeanne VanNiel Clarke and sister, Barbara Woodward. Robert is survived by his wife, Kay; his children, Linda (David) Knickerbocker, Pittsford, N.Y., Bruce Clarke, Lyons, N.Y., and David (Carol) Clarke, Toledo, Ohio; his stepchildren, Jeff (Deanna) Askew, and Debbie (Roger) Barth, all of Bismarck; and Pam (DuWayne) Hegel, Coon Rapids, Minn. He is also survived by a sister, Phyllis Darling, Dennis, Ma. and 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Any memorials may be made to the Suntree United Methodist Church, 7400 N. Art Haijsman
BEACH -- Art Haijsman, 86, Beach, died Nov. 20, 2000 in the Dickinson hospital. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, at Chapel of the Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home, Beach. He is survived by two nephews. (Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home, Beach)

Magdalen Heck
Sister Magdalen Heck, 79, a member of the Benedictine Sisters of Annunciation Monastery, died Nov. 25, 2000 in a Bismarck care center. Funeral services are set for 5 p.m. Tuesday, and a wake is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday at the Chapel of Annunciation Monastery. Visitation begins at 4:15 p.m. today at the monastery and continues until the time of the funeral. A loyal, faith-filled, generous woman, Sister Magdalen was always willing to help those with whom she lived and worked. She served 44 years in dietary positions at St. Alexius Medical Center and lived 51 years as a Benedictine sister. What she valued most in life were her monastic vocation, prayer and community life. Her sisters know her best as a woman who helped make a house a home, especially her sisters of St. Alexius Convent. "She was always there for you," they said. Sister Magdalen was known for her creativity. She arranged beautiful artistic fruit plates, created homemade cards with her own calligraphy and knitted afghans. She also enjoyed a good game of bridge. Born Jan. 23, 1921 in Mandan, Magdalena Margaret was the 13th of 16 children of Mansuetus and Katherine E. (Finninger) Heck. She grew up on a farm near Mandan, entered the Navy where she served several years before entering the community of Annunciation Monastery in 1947. She made her monastic profession on July 11, 1949. She is survived by her twin sister, Michele Heck, Bismarck; three sisters, Moncia Williams, Omaha, Neb., Apollonia Schaff, St. Paul, Minn., Elizabeth Geller and her husband, Raymond, San Luis Obispo, Calif.; a brother, Frank, Bismarck; and the Sisters of Annunciation Monastery. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the Benedictine Sisters of Annunciation Monastery. (Boelter Funeral Home, Bismarck)

Marian A. Holmes
LEEDS -- Marian A. Holmes, 81, Leeds, died Nov. 23, 2000 in a Devils Lake hospital. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, at Leeds Lutheran Church, with burial in the church cemetery. She is survived by her husband, John; two daughters, Janis Lunde, Brinsmade, and Karen Julson, Mayville; five grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Noral Lotvedt, Rugby; and one sister, Leila Chalmers, Rugby. Wayne Iverson
FESSENDEN -- Wayne Iverson, 72, Fessenden, died Nov. 24, 2000 in a Fargo hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, at Hoff Lutheran Church, Heimdal with burial in East Vang Cemetery, rural Fessenden. He is survived by his brother, A. WILLISTON -- Don Jensen, 89, Williston, died Nov. 25, 2000 in Williston. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Williston. Further arrangements are pending with Everson Funeral Home, Williston.

George Kalainov
STEELE -- George Kalainov Sr., 99, Steele, died Nov. 23, 2000 in a Steele nursing home. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Steele, and with the Rev. Paul Tjostem officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Steele. Visitation will be held from 2-9 p.m. Tuesday, at Eastgate Funeral Service, Steele, and one hour prior to the service at the church. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Steele. George was born icon Jan. 22, 1901 in Russia, the son of Nick and Doris (Kurtev) Kalainov. He moved to the U.S. in May of 1914. As a youth, he farmed with his family in Logan County until 1926. On July 26, 1926, he married icon Celia Makedonsky. They farmed near Medina, until 1928, when they moved to Allen Township in Kidder County, where they farmed until his retirement. Celia passed away on Feb. 28, 1980. Since his retirement, George has enjoyed fishing and helping his two sons on the family farm with both cattle and grain farming. He also enjoyed showing cattle while he was actively farming. His greatest love was going to his farm every day that he could, which was passed on to his sons and grandson. George is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Doris and John Heffelfinger, Sun City, Ariz.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Nick and Coletta Kalainov, Steele, Sam and Lori Kalainov, Des Moines, Iowa, and George Jr., and Evelyn Kalainov, Steele; 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Celia; his parents; one sister, three brothers, one grandchild and two great-grandchildren. (Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck and Steele)
