Eileen J. Duncan
Funeral services for Eileen J. Duncan, 83, Lisbon, were held Monday, November 28, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. at United Presbyterian Church, Lisbon, with Rev. John Anderson officiating. Mrs. Duncan died Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at Beverly Anne Assisted Living Center, Lisbon.
Eileen Domm, daughter of Walter and Alta (Nulph) Domm, was born February 27, 1922 at Sawyer, ND. She attended school at Wyndmere and Minneapolis. Eileen worked as a secretary in Minneapolis.
She married Ralph E. “Bud” Duncan in 1946 in Fargo. They lived in Lisbon where she worked at the Lisbon Clinic for many years. Ralph died January 14, 1983. In 1987, she moved to Fargo. She returned to Lisbon in July, 2004.
She is survived by a brother, Frank (Patty), Wahpeton, and a sister, Carol Plombon, Hutchinson, MN.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, two sons, Thomas and Jeffrey, two brothers, Bob and Arnold, and two sisters, Edna Erdmann and Lois Strickland.
Pallbearers were Morrie Saxerud, Laurel Gamache, Dan Thompson, Dr. A.K. Lewis, Bruce Iserman, Lewis Lyons.
Music was provided by organist Janet Hansen, and soloist Joan Montgomery.
Interment at Oakwood Cemetery, Lisbon.
Armstrong Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Robert H. Carpenter
A memorial service for Robert H. Carpenter, 81, Lisbon, formerly of Ellendale, will be held at Council Bluffs, IA. Mr. Carpenter died Sunday, November 20, 2005 at North Dakota Veterans Home, Lisbon.
Robert Harry Carpenter, son of Harry S. and Nina (Axtell) Carpenter was born on February 1, 1924 in Ellendale. He was raised in Ellendale and attended public School.
He joined CC Camp in the Black Hills of South Dakota and entered the Army, serving during World War II in Italy and North Africa. He spent the last year of his life at the North Dakota Veterans Home, Lisbon.
He is survived by his children, Ilona Wilkinson, Council Bluffs, Maxine Riche, Council Bluffs, Mike (Connie) Carpenter, Council Bluffs, Ed (Denise) Carpenter, Pacific Junction, IA, Pat Carpenter, Council Bluffs; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian(West), his parents, daughter, Shirley Souza, brother Jim and sister, Frances Edwards.
Hoven Funeral Chapel, Ellendale, was in charge of arrangements.

LeRoy D. Johnson
Services for LeRoy D. Johnson, 65, Sioux Falls, SD, were held in South Dakota. Mr. Johnson died Friday, November 18, 2005 at the V.A. Hospital in Sioux Falls.
LeRoy D. Johnson, son of Ben W. and Olga (Olson) Johnson was born on February 20, 1940 in Lisbon. He was baptized at Whitestone Hill Lutheran Church, rural Gwinner and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lisbon. He grew up on the family farm and attended school in Gwinner and graduated from Lisbon High School in 1958. He joined the N.D. Army National Guard in his senior year in Lisbon. He worked at several jobs in Lisbon and managed the Jet Truck Stop, near the Stake Out south of Lisbon. He moved to Kansas. Later Mr. Johnson moved to South Dakota where he worked for Silver King Uranium Mine for many years until the mine closed. He then retired due to health problems.
He is survived by a son and a daughter; two grandchildren and a sister. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Inurnment at Whitestone Hills Lutheran Cemetery, rural Gwinner.
Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Oakes, was in charge of arrangements.

Jay M. Golliet
Memorial services for Jay M. Golliet, 50, Salt Lake City, Utah was held on Thursday, December 1, 2005 at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND. Mr. Golliet died Monday, November 21, 2005.
Jay Michael Golliet, son of Harold and Violet (Kominsky) Golliet was born on May 22, 1955 in Lisbon. He graduated from high school in Enderlin, ND. He moved to California and worked as a certified welder and was a member of the Boilermakers Union Local 6.
In 2000 Mr. Golliet moved to Salt Lake City, Utah.
He is survived by his children, Brian (Bobbi) Golliet, Rachel (Justin) Golliet-Sellers; father, Harold Golliet, brother, Duane (Sue) Golliet; and four grandchildren.
Interment at Riverside Cemetery, Fargo.
Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, was in charge of arrangements.

Atha M. Falk
Funeral services for Atha M. Falk, 94, Lisbon, ND, were held on Saturday, December 3, 2005 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lisbon. Reverend Norman Anderson and Reverend David Killeen officiated. Mrs. Falk died Monday, November 28, 2005 at Parkside Lutheran Home, Lisbon.
Atha M. Falk, daughter of Gustav and Iverine (Iverson) Peterson was born on November 26, 1911 in rural Fort Ransom. She attended Fort Ransom School, graduating from Fort Ransom High School, and from VCSU.
On June 12, 1936, she married George A. Falk in Fort Ransom.They farmed near Fort Ransom until moving to Lisbon in 1982. Mr. Falk died February 5, 1996. Mrs. Falk was a member of Progressive Homemakers Club and active in Parkside Auxiliary and Fort Ransom Senior Citizens.
She is survived by three sons, Ronald (Janice), Park Rapids, MN, Russell, Fort Ransom, Arden (Stephanie), Fort Ransom. six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and two sisters, Olga Rasmusson, Fort Ransom and Loiselle (Henry) Dahill, Oregon. Pallbearers for the funeral were Tyler Falk, Terry Falk, Tiffany Falk, Amanda Falk, Nateal Falk and Carly Falk. Honorary pallbearers were her nieces and nephews.
Music was provided by organist Jan Hansen and soloist Ruth Larson.
Interment at Stiklestad Cemetery, rural Fort Ransom.

Norris D. Nelson
Funeral services for Norris D. Nelson, 79, Lisbon, ND, will be held on Monday, December 5, 2005 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Lisbon. Father Jerald Finnestad is the celebrant. Mr. Nelson died Wednesday, November 30, 2005 at Parkside Lutheran Home, Lisbon.
Norris D. Nelson, son of John and Marie (Cincera) Nelson was born on March 30, 1926 in Lisbon. He attended Lisbon School, graduating from Lisbon High School. He was in the U.S. Navy from 1944-1946.
On April 6, 1953, he married Shirley Birkeland in Warwick, ND. They farmed near Lisbon and started an apple orchard. He also worked at Bobcat in Gwinner and for Utke Well Drilling, Enderlin. They moved to Lisbon in 1976. He was a member of the Eagles and a lifetime member of the VFW. He served as state president of ND Horticulture Society and received the WODARZ award for outstanding achievement in horticulture.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Nelson, Lisbon.
Pallbearers for the funeral were Mike Nelson, Paul Nelson, Gregory Rue, John Soderholm, Paul Soderholm, Tim Birkeland, Allen Birkeland, Dan Birkeland, Bruce Birkeland, John Suter and Warren Wiltse.
Music will be provided by organist Kathy Kwapinski and vocalists Sylvia Holmstrom and Christie Urbach.
Interment at St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery, Lisbon.

Herbert J. Huseth
Funeral services for Herbert J. Huseth, 78, McLeod, ND, were held on Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, ND. Reverend Judi Huseth officiated. Mr. Huseth died Saturday, November 26, 2005 at St. Frances Health Campus, Breckenridge, MN.
Herbert Julian Huseth, son of Peter and Mary (Pederson) Huseth was born on February 14, 1927 in Freeman Township, rural McLeod. He grew up and attended rural school near McLeod.
On September 18, 1950, he married Beverly Houge at the Presbyterian Church, McLeod. He entered the U.S. Army and served for two years during the Korean War. He returned to McLeod, where he worked for the Fatland Ranch. He later purchased a ranch east of McLeod and has continued to stay active in ranching. Mr. Huseth was a member of Wyndmere American Legion and Sheyenne Valley Grazing Association. He was a director for RSR, Milnor for 20 years and served on the McLeod School Board. He was a member of the Eagles.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Huseth, McLeod; his son, Terry (Rev. Judi) Huseth, Janesville, WI; two daughters, Julie (Paul) Fischer, Hankinson; Susan “Diane” Huseth, Fargo; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Pearl Tayler, California, Lois (George) Zentgraf, OR; and two brothers, Irvin (Myra) Huseth, Lisbon and Allan (Barb) Huseth, Menomonie Falls, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, Paul, a daughter-in-law, Ramona Huseth and three brothers, Norman, Bennie and Marvin Huseth.
Military Honors were conducted by Wyndmere American Legion Brown-Nelson Post No. 153 and the “Sons of American Legion”.
Interment at Freeman Cemetery, rural McLeod.
Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton was in charge of arrangements.
