Lucille Ellingson
Lucille A. Ellingson, 84, Bismarck, died April 20, 2001. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at McCabe United Methodist Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Rick Fossum officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday at Bismarck Funeral Home, and will continue one hour before services at the church. Lucille Ellingson was born icon Sept. 17, 1916, in Tappen, to Johnathan and Isis (Pulver) Geesey. She graduated from Tappen High School and completed beauty school in Fargo. Lucille married icon Johnnie Ellingson on Aug. 6, 1938, in Fargo. They lived in Devils Lake, Glen Ullin and Rolla, before moving to Bismarck in 1947. In 1971, Johnnie retired and they wintered in Mesa, Ariz., and spent summers at Lake Isabel near Dawson. After his death in 1990, Lucille moved to Steele, living there until she experienced poor health in 1998, and moved to Bismarck to be close to her daughter. Lucille made time for her family and many close friendships. Lucille touched many with her kindness, gentleness and her ability to make people smile. Lucille is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny and Shirley, Peoria, Ariz., and Keith and Marlys, Elk River, Minn.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Louise and Tim Holt, West Linn, Ore., and Sandra and Jerry Hedberg, Bismarck; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother and sister, Norman and Oliva Geesey, El Paso, Texas; five sisters and one brother-in-law, Neoma McCumber, Seattle, Margarete Hauntz, Grangeville, Idaho, Wanda Cornell, Garden Grove, Calif., Doris Dewitz, Steele, and Marcella and Oris Heiden, Fargo; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie; her parents; one brother, Roy Geesey; and two sisters, Elois Job and LaDonna Kruger. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Camp Grassick, Medcenter One Hospice or the American Cancer Society.

Mary Erickson
Mary B. Erickson, 83, Bismarck, died April 21, 2001, in her home. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Eastgate Funeral Service. Further arrangements are pending.

Martha Highbe
GOLDEN VALLEY -- Martha Highbe, 91, Golden Valley, died April 20, 2001, in the Hazen hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Wednesday at Golgotha Lutheran Church, Golden Valley. Further arrangements are pending at Seibel Funeral Home, Beulah.

Sandra Hintz
GARRISON -- Sandra Hintz, 46, Garrison, died April 19, 2001, in the Garrison hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Garrison, with burial in Grandfield Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Lyle; one daughter, Eunice; her mother, Lou Ann Carlson; one brother, Brian Carlson, Seattle; and one sister, Pam Carlson, Seattle. (Thompson Funeral Home, Garrison)

Elizabeth Hoerth
ASHLEY -- Elizabeth Hoerth, 84, Ashley, died April 20, 2001, in the Ashley hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Ashley Baptist Church, with burial in Ashley Cemetery. She is survived by two sons, Dr. Randall Hoerth, Albertville, Ala., and Kenneth Hoerth, Lakota; two sisters, Rachel Becker, Ashley, and Hilda Mutschelknaus, Newberg, Ore.; and four grandchildren. Hilda Johnson
Hilda Johnson, 99, Bismarck, died April 20, 2001, in a Bismarck care center. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck. Further arrangements are pending at Eastgate Funeral Service.

Gust Martel
Gust Martel, 91, Bismarck, died April 21, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. Arrangements are pending at Eastgate Funeral Service.

Elaine Mayer
NEW TOWN -- Elaine Mayer, 67, New Town, died of lung cancer, April 18, 2001, in her home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Four Bears Community Center, New Town, with burial in Snow Bird Cemetery. She is survived by one son, Rex, Rapid City, S.D.; two grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Elk and Agnes Yellow Wolf, both of New Town. (Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City)

John Page
John M. Page, 95, Bismarck, died April 20, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bismarck Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Bismarck Funeral Home, and will continue one hour before services. John was born icon June 29, 1905, in Pleasant Lake to John and Ella (Mann) Page. He married icon Olga Saastad in Minot. He taught at Angler, and served as a school administrator in Gardar, Almont and Wing. He was a lifelong member of National Education Association and North Dakota Education Association. John enjoyed gardening, and made many pieces of furniture and other items in woodcrafting. He is survived by his wife, Olga; four sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Marian, Salem, Ore., David and Elsie, Lakeville, Minn., Dennis and Connie, Grand Forks, and John D. and Lucy, Fargo; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one brother, Elmer, Sidney, Mont. John was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; and five brothers.

Eunice Sabot
BALDWIN -- Eunice I. Sabot, 73, Baldwin, died April 19, 2001, in a Bismarck care center. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Church of St. Anne, Bismarck, with the Rev. Edwin Wehner officiating. Burial will be in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today at Eastgate Funeral Service, where a vigil/rosary will be said at tonight. Eunice was born icon Jan. 20, 1928, north of Bismarck, the daughter of Samuel and Lillian Turnbow. She was raised and educated in Bismarck and graduated from St. Mary's High School in Bismarck. She and Russell Sabot were married icon June 28, 1948, in Bismarck, and were married icon 52 years. Eunice and Russell farmed in the Baldwin area for many years. She retired from Q&R Clinic after 18 years of employment. She enjoyed her grandchildren, fishing, traveling, camping, crocheting, singing, dancing, sewing and visiting with family and friends. She is survived by her daughters and their families, Renee Walery and her husband, Steve, Bismarck, Deb Matzke and her husband, Rick, Bismarck, and their two sons; one daughter-in-law, Doug and Shannon Matzke, Denton, Texas, Jonathon Matzke and his friend, Maria, Minneapolis, Robyn Schafer and her husband, Mike, Bismarck, and their three daughters, Andrea and Jeremy Feldman, Bismarck, Becky and Heather Schafer, Dickinson, Cheryl Bechtle and her husband, John, and their two children, Emily and Josh, all of Bismarck; and one great-granddaughter, Tayler Feldman. She is also survived by three sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret and Duane Mack, Mary and Bob Anderson, all of Bismarck, and Catherine and Emanuel Entze, Golden Valley; one brother and sister-in-law, Bill and June Turnbow, Bismarck; one sister-in-law, Andra Turnbow, Spearfish, S.D.; special friends, Darrell and Sandy Baisch, Bismarck, and their two children, Krista Artis and her husband, Joe, and their two children, Jordan and Jake, and Jeff Baisch, Salt Lake City; her special neighbor and caregiver, Gerry Ann Small and her husband, Gary, Baldwin; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell; her parents, Sam and Lillian Turnbow; one brother, George Turnbow; one step-grandson, Brent Schafer; and two half-brothers, Carson and James Turnbow.

Hilda Schiermeister
HAZELTON -- Hilda Schiermeister, 83, Hazelton, died April 19, 2001, in her home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hazelton, with the Rev. Eugene Roecker officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Vocal music for the service will be Las Meich Gehen and Asleep in Jesus, performed by the church choir, with Heaven is my Home as a congregational hymn. Harried Humann and Lila Jane Werner will serve as organists. Casketbearers will be Herb Werner, Alan Schmidt, Ervin Schiermeister, Richard Schmidt, John Feller and Kenneth Feller. Ushers will be Ray Humann and Rueben Humann. Visitation will be from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday at Myers Funeral Home, Linton, and will continue at the church one hour before services. Hilda Schiermeister was born icon July 24, 1917, on a farm near Temvik, the daughter of Peter and Johanna (Wohl) Schmidt. When she was a small child the family moved to a farm seven miles north of Hazelton. Hilda attended rural schools. On Sept. 16, 1934, she married icon Walter Schiermeister, at Peace Lutheran Church, Linton. They made their home on Walter's family farm west of Temvik. In 1937 they bought the Langer Ranch 14 miles northwest of Hazelton. They bought a home in Hazelton in 1947 and Walter continued to ranch until his death on July 17, 1975. Hilda was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hazelton, and served her church as a Sunday school teacher and choir member. She was also a member of Ladies Aid. Grateful to have shared her life were her son and daughter-in-law, Leo and Dorinda Schiermeister, Hazelton; three grandchildren and their spouses, Carla and Rob Lein, Durant and Sharon Schiermeister, and Shelly and Clayton Foell; three great-grandchildren, Jana, Jamie and Nathan Scherr; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Hilda was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Donald Schiermeister; five brothers and four sisters.

Ruth Schlafmann
TURTLE LAKE -- Ruth Schlafmann, 76, Turtle Lake, died April 20, 2001, in the Turtle Lake hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Turtle Lake Baptist Church. Further arrangements are pending at Goetz Funeral Home, Turtle Lake.

Clementine Schwartz
Clementine Gerhart Schwartz, 90, Bismarck, died April 20, 2001, in a Bismarck care center. Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, Bismarck, with the Rev. Thomas E. Kramer officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck. Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. Monday at Eastgate Funeral Service, where a rosary and vigil will begin at 7 p.m. Monday. Clementine was born icon Aug. 17, 1910, in Germany, the daughter of Simon and Theresa (Braulich) Bosch. When she was seven months old, the family immigrated to the United States and homesteaded in Linton. They later moved to Halliday where Clementine was raised and educated. She married icon Anton L. Gerhart in 1929. They operated a combination grocery store and butcher shop in Halliday for many years. They moved to Bismarck in the 1950s. Anton died in 1968. She married icon Fred W. Schwartz in Mandan in 1971. He died in 1995. Clementine worked in the central supply department of St. Alexius Hospital for 17 years. She enjoyed fishing, camping, dancing and playing cards. She was a member of Eagles Club, Moose Lodge and Corpus Christi Catholic Church. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Roland Frey, Missoula, Mont.; her sons and daughters-in-law, Leonard and Pauline Gerhart, Sioux Falls, S.D., Simon and Lorraine Gerhart, Missoula, and Charles and Rose Marie Gerhart, Mandan; her step-daughter, Gloria Gieser, Farmington, Minn.; 10 grandsons, Paul, retired Lt. Col. Robert, Allan, Kevin, Dr. Timothy and Tom Gerhart, Jeff, Jim, Jerry and John Frey; four granddaughters, Mary Kay Bean, Susan Gerhart, Lisa Bloom and Tamara Sevlie; one brother, Joe Bosch, Bismarck; 28 great-grandchildren; and eight step-grandchildren. Clementine was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Anton Gerhart and Fred Schwartz; two grandsons, Major Frederick and Steven Gerhart; two brothers, Pete and Simon Bosch; and two sisters, Magdalen Voight and Mary Mudd.

Lawrence Sibley
WILLISTON -- Lawrence L. Sibley, 78, Williston, died April 21, 2001, in the Williston care center. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Everson Funeral Home, Williston, with burial in Riverview Cemetery, Williston. He is survived by one son, Joseph, Williston; two daughters, Rose Alton, Ray, and Theresa Vandeberg, Britton, S.D.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Joe Dukart
DICKINSON -- Joe M. Dukart, 87, Dickinson, died April 21, 2001, in the Dickinson hsopital. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. MST today at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Dickinson, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by three children, Elaine Schmidt, Aurora, Ill., Elmer, Dickinson, and Alphonse, Horace; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Ralph, Dickinson. Jason Edinger
McIntosh, S.D. -- Jason A. Edinger, 25, McIntosh, died April 21, 2001, in an automobile accident near McIntosh. Arrangements are pending at Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home, Lemmon.
