Lynda Ferguson
Lynda Ferguson, 54, Cottage Grove, Ore., formerly of Bismarck and Grand Forks, died May 6, 2001, in Devils Lake. Services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Cottage Grove, Ore. She is survived by her husband, Gary Greving; one son, Quentin Schindele, St. Paul, Minn.; and her mother, Orlinda Ferguson, Cottage Grove, Ore. (Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel, Cottage Grove, Ore.)

Frances Fiegel
HALLIDAY -- Frances Fiegel, 82, Halliday, died May 7, 2001, in the Hazen hospital. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Halliday, with the Rev. Richard Melchert officiating. Burial will be in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Frances was born Oct. 25, 1918, in Max, the daughter of John and Ann (Sheptenko) Glovitch. She was raised and educated in Killdeer. She married Frankie Fiegel Sept. 13, 1939, in Manning. During WWII she lived with her parents in Vancouver, Wash., for three years while Frankie was in the Navy. During this time she worked at the Kaiser Shipyard. After the war, Frances and Frankie returned to Halliday to visit Frankie's parents. This was to be a month stay, but turned into a permanent situation. For the past 36 years Frances endured constant pain from rheumatoid arthritis but would never let it show. She always had a smile for everyone and was a very loving person. She is survived by her husband, Frankie; one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Ron Anderson, Libby, Mont., and one sister, Alyce Erbele, Portland, Ore. She was preceded in death by her parents. William Graf
William "Bill" Graf, 85, Bismarck, died May 8, 2001, in a local hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at House of Prayer Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. David Swonger officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. William Graf was born June 20, 1915, in Boxelder, Mont., to Gustave George and Anna Marie (Schlickenmeyer) Graf. Bill was reared and educated in Regan. He served in the United States Army during WWII from Dec. 4, 1941, until his honorable discharge Dec. 24, 1945. He received his basic training at Camp Roberts, Calif., and fought in the Asiatic-Pacific theater in the Northern Solomons and Luzon in the Philippines. Bill married Lorraine Alvina Blatter Sept. 9, 1949, in Bismarck. They farmed northwest of Regan until 1958, when they moved to Bismarck, where Bill worked for Kirschmann Mfg. In 1961 they moved to Seattle, Wash., where he worked for Smith-Berger Mfg. After Bill's retirement in 1981, Bill and Lorraine moved back to Bismarck and were members of House of Prayer Church. Bill enjoyed working on plastic canvas projects. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine; his brother and two sisters-in-law, Jake and Virginia Graf, Amarillo, Texas, and Myrtle Graf, Stockton, Calif.; his seven sisters and five brothers-in-law, Martha and Eugene Plummer, Lincoln, Neb., Irene and Emil Anderson, Edmonds, Wash., Amelia and Arnold Pleinis, and Elsie and Kenneth Brons, all of Lynnwood, Wash., and Lydia Bossert, Hilda Alm and Lorentine and Alvin Terry, all of Bismarck; 21 nieces; 17 nephews; and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, George and Victor Graf.

Delphine Hall
NEW TOWN -- Delphine Hall, 65, New Town, formerly of White Shield, died May 8, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. Arrangements are pending with Thompson Funeral Home, Garrison.

Charles Hamel
NAPOLEON -- Charles Hamel, 75, Napoleon, died May 8, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Napoleon. Further arrangements are pending with Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Napoleon.

Anton Hawronsky
Anton Hawronsky, 67, Glendive, Mont., formerly of Grassy Butte, died May 1, 2001, in Fallon, Mont. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Friday at St. Peter Canisius Catholic Church, Grassy Butte. Burial will be in the city cemetery. He is survived by two sons, Stanley, Phoenix, Ariz., and Stewart, Colorado Springs, Colo.; two daughters, Susan Smith, Woodland Park, Colo., and Stacy Cooke, Musselshell, Mont.; nine grandchildren; and four sisters, Olga Thompson, Lake Mills, Iowa, Mary Ann Walter, Eugene, Ore., and Josephine Wehrung and Kathy Thompson, both of Watford City. Thomas Holm
Thomas W. Holm, 57, Bismarck, died May 7, 2001, in a Rochester, Minn., hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. CDT Saturday at Church of the Ascension, Bismarck, with the Rev. Arnold Spain officiating. Burial will be held at 3 p.m. MDT in Dawson Memorial Cemetery, Glendive, Mont. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. CDT today and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. CDT Friday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, where a rosary will be held at 7 p.m. CDT Friday. Tom was born May 6, 1944, in Glendive, Mont., the son of Eugene Phillip and Ellen Louise (Campbell) Holm. He grew up in Glendive and graduated from Dawson County High School in 1962. He graduated from Dawson Community College in Glendive in 1965. He also attended Northern Montana College in Havre, Mont. On Nov. 26, 1966, he married Judy Steinkogler at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glendive. In June 1968, Tom began his career with Montana Dakota Utilities, working in Glendive until October 1989, when he was transferred to Bismarck. He was currently employed by Williston Basin Interstate Pipeline Company, a subsidiary of MDU Resource Group. Tom was active in the Jaycees and in 1976 was runner-up for the Outstanding Young Man of Montana. While in Glendive, Tom served on the City-County Planning Board, Sacred Heart Parish Council, Sacred Heart School Board, Dawson County High School Board and the Knights of Columbus. Currently, Tom was a member of the Elks Club as well as a member and eucharistic minister of the Church of the Ascension. He is survived by his wife, Judy; one daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Karl Brooks, Stoughton, Wis.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Tracy, Hampton, Va., and Shawn and Janel, Colorado Springs, Colo.; three grandchildren, Heather and Alex Brooks and Carson Holm; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Jean Price, San Jose, Calif., Patricia and Myron Fleck, Portland, Ore., and Ellen Cornwell, Billings, Mont.; one brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Mary Ellen Holm, Salem, Ore.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Flora Hosler
Flora M. Hosler, 90, Hesperia, Calif., formerly of Hazen, died April 25, 2001, in Hesperia. Services were held April 27 at Memory Chapel, Covina Hills, Calif. She is survived by five children, Paul Langmaack, Bowman, Calvin Langmaack, San Diego, Calif., Myrna Haas, Venturia, Sharon Smith, Hesperia, Calif., and Brian Langmaack, Ontario, Calif.; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Langmaack, Minneapolis, Minn.; and two brothers, Herbert and Carl Bruse, both of Norcross, Minn.

Joseph Jangula
Joseph Jangula, 85, New Salem, formerly of Linton, died May 9, 2001, in the New Salem care center. Arrangements are pending with Myers Funeral Home, Linton.

Omer Lagasse
ROLLA -- Omer A. Lagasse, 85, Rolla, died May 5, 2001, at his home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at St. Joachim Catholic Church, Rolla. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Antionette; two daughters, Lucille DesRoches, St. John, and Estelle Kirchoffner, Bismarck; two sons, Leo, Williston, and Raymond, Crookston, Minn.; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Henry, Rolette, Arthur, Shoreline, Wash., and Joe, Garner, Iowa; and six sisters, Eva Winslow, Everett, Wash., Delia Godfrey, Kelso, Wash., Laura Hellem, North Branch, Minn., Alice Pidde, Bloomington, Minn., Semon Jalbert, Perdue, Sask., and Stella Dawson, Rolla. Jerome Laintz
SELFRIDGE -- Jerome Laintz, 44, Selfridge, died May 8, 2001, in Sioux County due to injuries sustained from a motor vehicle accident. Services will be held at 11 a.m. MDT Saturday at St. Philomena Catholic Church, Selfridge, with the Rev. Casimir Paluck officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon to 4 p.m. CDT Friday at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, and from 6 to 8 p.m. MDT Friday at the church, where a parish rosary will be held at 7 p.m. MDT and a parish vigil will be held at 7:30 p.m. MDT. Jerome Gregory Laintz, the son of Daniel J. and Rose (Kraft) Laintz was born March 16, 1957, in McLaughlin, S.D. He was raised and educated in Selfridge, continuing his education at North Dakota State University, Fargo, for two years. On July 30, 1977, he married Jayne Corlene Fischer in McLaughlin. They farmed and ranched in Selfridge. In addition, he assisted the local veterinarian and was employed by the McLaughlin Livestock Auction. Jerome was a very active member in his church and community. He was presently serving as chairman for the Farmers Union Oil Company, volunteer fireman and church trustee. He served as a past member on the Board of Directors for Mor-Gran-Sou Electric Cooperative and Farm Credit Services. Jerome enjoyed time with family, especially the family vacations. He loved fishing and was looking forward to taking his new boat out for the first time. He spent many hours butchering for friends and neighbors. His sausage-making was shared with family and friends. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and looked forward to singing at church. He is survived by his wife, Jayne; two daughters, Jamie Laintz, Boise, Idaho, and Jessica Laintz, Brookings, S.D.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Daniel and Pat Laintz, Denver, Colo., and Will and Roberta Laintz, Mandan; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Kathleen and Don Hauck, McLaughlin, S.D., Geneva Green, Arvada, Colo., Vera Laintz, Navato, Calif., and Laurie and Matt Walker, Gillette, Wyo.; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim and Edith Fischer, McLaughlin, S.D.; one brother-in-law, James Fischer and his wife Bev; one sister-in-law, Joy Hanson and her husband Dwight; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel.

Duane LaRock
NEW TOWN -- Duane LaRock, 76, New Town, died May 8, 2001, at his home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethel Lutheran Church, New Town. Further arrangements are pending with Johnson Funeral Home, New Town.

Michael Long
Michael N. Long, 54, Maple Grove, Minn., died May 8, 2001. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church of Crystal, Brooklyn Park, Minn. Private burial will be held. Bernard Malusky
FARGO -- Bernard J. Malusky, 80, Fargo, died May 7, 2001, in a Fargo care center. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Church of the Nativity, Fargo. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, LaVon; one daughter, Colleen, West Fargo; two brothers, Adrian, Auburn, Wash., and Raymond, Bismarck; and one sister, Rosemary Sieracki, Bismarck. Bertha Mulske
DICKINSON -- Bertha Mulske, 72, Dickinson, died May 8, 2001, in the Dickinson hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel, Dickinson. Further arrangements are pending.

Bertha Otterstrom
CARSON -- Bertha Otterstrom, 93, Carson, died May 8, 2001, in an Elgin care center. Services will be held at 9 a.m. MDT today at Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home, Elgin. Burial will be held at 3 p.m. MDT in Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, Mont. She is survived by two sisters, Jean Johnson, Chelalis, Wash., and Gusta Wrolson, Centralia, Wash. Alex Schalesky
MAX -- Alex W. Schalesky, 92, Max, died May 9, 2001, in a Fargo care center. Arrangements are pending with Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo.

Sharon Schank
Sharon Schank, 51, Bismarck, died May 7, 2001, in a Bismarck care center. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Bismarck Funeral Home, with the Rev. Roger Will officiating. Private burial will be held. Sharon was born Feb. 28, 1950, in Dickinson, to William and Karine (Aanstad) Jalbert. She grew up in New England and graduated from New England High School. On Nov. 30, 1968, Sharon married Dale Schank in Richardton. For the past 11 years, Sharon worked as a care giver for Easter seals. She had a true love for the human spirit and was loved by all who knew her. She is survived by two sons, Chuck Gruenberg, Fargo, and Casey Schank, Bismarck; one granddaughter, Kaitlyn Fife, Red Wing, Minn.; one brother, Bill Jalbert, Winter Park, Colo.; one sister, Darlene Johnson, Tacoma, Wash.; and her special friend, Myron Auch, Bismarck.
