MOTT -- Sandra C. Schlenvogt, 61, Mott, died April 28, 2001, at her home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT today at United Church of Christ, Mott. Burial will be held at 3 p.m. CDT in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. She is survived by three stepdaughters, Carla Evans, San Jose, Calif., Laura Rieck, Crawford, Colo., and Donna Backus, Mission Viejo, Calif.; one stepson, Paul Schlenvogt, Arbuckle, Calif.; eight step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Illene Rogers, Plymouth, Calif., and Barbara Nakamota, Watsonville, Calif. Edward Schwindt
KILLDEER -- Edward Schwindt, 89, Killdeer, died May 8, 2001, in the Killdeer care center. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Killdeer, with burial in Killdeer Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Theresa; one son, Val, Kersey, Colo.; four daughters, Angeline Chays, Dickinson, Florine Lazorenko, Linda Reems and Jackie Olson, all of Killdeer; one brother, Pete, Edenburg, Wash.; two sisters, Lena Heiser and Ida Schwindt, both of Dickinson; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Joseph Volk
RUGBY -- Joseph H. Volk, 97, Rugby, died May 8, 201, in the Rugby care center. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Little Flower Catholic Church, Rugby, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Anna; three sons, Richard, Issaquah, Wash., Jerry and Joe, both of Rugby; three daughters, Gloria Schell, Oceanside, Calif., Caroleene Jorgensen, Bismarck, and Jolette Kihlstrom, Orcas Island, Wash.; 19 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Josephine Bickler, Rugby, and Sr. Edaine Volk, Bismarck. Raymond Weinhandl
Raymond J. Weinhandl, 70, Lemon Grove, Calif., formerly of Mandan, died May 6, 2001, in Lemon Grove. Services were held May 10 at Holy Cross Mausoleum Chapel, San Diego. He is survived by one sister, Rose Fagan, Lemon Grove; one half-sister, Pauline Wright, Minneapolis; one brother, Robert Weinhandl, Boulder City, Nev.; and four half-brothers, Anton Michlitsch, Flasher, Joe Michlitsch, Bismarck, Lawrence Weinhandl, Fergus Falls, Minn., and Richard Weinhandl, Mandan. Albert Weiss
Albert Weiss, 88, Bismarck, died May 10, 2001, in a Bismarck care center. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck. Further arrangements are pending at Eastgate Funeral Service.

Evelyn Anderson
GARRISON -- Evelyn Anderson, 82, Garrison, formerly of Butte and Bergen, died Dec. 21, 2000, in a Garrison care center. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Butte. Burial will be in the city cemetery. She is survived by one daughter, Carolyne Bauer, Butte; one son, Kenneth, Truckee, Calif.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Violet Britton, Turtle Lake. Rochus Gefroh
ESMOND -- Rochus Gefroh, 70, Esmond, died May 10, 2001, near Surrey. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Esmond. Further arrangements are pending with Nelson Funeral Home, Esmond.

Delphine Hall
NEW TOWN -- Delphine Hall, 65, New Town, died May 8, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at White Shield Community Center, White Shield. Burial will be in the private family cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Edward; six sons, David Kirkaldie, Garrison, Edward Hall III, Washington, D.C., Pem Hall, Parshall, Ronald Hall, Fort Collins, Colo., Martin Hall, Plaza, and Jeffery Hall, New Town; one daughter, Donna Rae Hall, Albuquerque, N.M.; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Joseph Young Bird, Fresno, Calif., Hans Young Bird, White Shield, and Felix Young Bird, Wahpeton; and six sisters, Magdalene Yellow Bird, Pliga Bordeaux and Greta White Calf, all of White Shield, Teresa Danks and Sara Young Bird, both of New Town, and Marilyn Young Bird, Bailey, Colo. Lawrence Holzer
Lawrence Holzer, 76, Bismarck, died May 10, 2001, in the Mandan hospital. Services will be held at noon Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Charlie Heidt officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Perry Funeral Home, Mandan, where a rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to services at the church. Lawrence was born Oct. 30, 1924, in Hague, to Joseph L. and Elizabeth (Schmaltz) Holzer. He was raised near Hague. On Oct. 28, 1947, he married Helen Schneider in Rosenthal Catholic Church near Strasburg. Lawrence was a carpenter for Medcenter One for 33 years before retiring in 1986. Lawrence was a life member of the Bismarck Moose and Eagles and was a member of United Commercial Travelers. He also played in the Al Holzer Band as a drummer for many years. He is survived by his wife, Helen; one daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Richard Fink, Harvey; one son and daughter-in-law, Wendy and Kathy Holzer, Bismarck; and four grandchildren, Brent and Brian Holzer, Jessica Fink Schock and Terry Fink. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Aloys Holzer.

Robert Jacobson
DEVILS LAKE -- Robert W. Jacobson, 58, Devils Lake, died May 9, 2001, in the Devils Lake hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Devils Lake. Burial will be in the city cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Darlene; one son, Robin, Devils Lake; three daughters, Tracy Kouba, Jennifer Jacobson and Jami Hanson, all of Devils Lake; seven grandchildren; his parents, Clarence and Gladys Jacobson, Devils Lake; one brother, Jim, Wahpeton; and one sister, Clarice Hanson, Detroit Lakes, Minn. Joseph Jangula
NEW SALEM -- Joseph Jangula, 85, New Salem, formerly of Linton, died May 9, 2001, in the New Salem care center. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Linton. Burial will be in the church cemetery. He is survived by one son, Terry, Panama City, Fla.; two daughters, Donna Olauson and Karen Wiest, both of Bismarck; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Pius, Linton, and Andy and Tony, both of Butte, Mont.; and two sisters, Leona Zahn and Katie Fischer, both of Butte, Mont. Annamarie Kuntz
Annamarie Kuntz, 70, Mandan, known to many of her friends as "George," died May 10, 2001, died May 10, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Jake Schumacher officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from to 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan, where a parish rosary and vigil service will begin at 7 p.m. Annamarie was born May 7, 1931, near Center, the daughter of Jacob and Lena (Piatz) Barnhardt. She married Anton J. Kuntz there June 9, 1950. Annamarie and Anton made their home in Mandan, where they owned and operated restaurants in the area. A lady who was very seldom idle, she was also employed as a cook and restaurant manager. In later years, she worked as a seamstress. She had always displayed great talent for sewing. She also loved crafts and crocheting. Anton died March 2, 1980. Annamarie is survived by three sons, Anton, Mandan, Joe and his wife Wanda, Bismarck, and Steve, California; two daughters Thearsea Brunelle and her husband Sherman, Bismarck, and Bernice Sandness, LaMoure; five grandchildren, Chris Sandness, Trenten and Sheridan Brunelle and Thomas and Anthony Kuntz; three great-grandchildren, Chaunce, Justice and Silka Sandness; three sisters, Elizabeth Emineth and her husband Reinhold, Washington State, Adeline Thorn, New York, and Angie Nettles, Texas; two brothers, John Barnhardt, Bismarck, and Jerry Barnhardt, California; a special niece, Eileen Welk; and two special friends, Sister Gertrude and Abby Bartell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anton; her grandson, Mark Sandness; her parents; and her brother, Edward Barhardt.

Emma Lantz
RICHARDTON -- Emma Lantz, 83, Richardton, died May 9, 2001, at her home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT today at Sacred Heart Monastery, Richardton. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Richardton. She is survived by her husband, Peter; five children, Lloyd Lantz, Hillsboro, Ore., Dennis Lantz, Crystal, Minn., Linda Binstock, Beulah, Gary Lantz, Dickinson, and Mary Beyer, Richardton; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Bertha Gress, Richardton, Lena Seiler, Yuma, Ariz., and Lorretta Naumann, Phoenix, Ariz.; and one brother, Ray Hauck, Richardton. MERCER -- Anthony Lill, 59, Mercer, formerly of Bremen, died May 10, 2001, at his home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, Underwood. Burial will be held at 4 p.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, rural Bremen. He is survived by his wife, Pamela; three daughters, Carla Lill, Newport, Ore., Stephanie Lill, Grand Forks, and Tonia Lill, Fargo; one brother, David, Cathay; and two sisters, Shirley Allmaras, Mokena, Ill., and Linda Schafer, New Rockford. Violet Long
Violet Long, 82, Arvada, Colo., formerly of Bismarck, died May 7, 2001, in Westminster, Colo. Services were held May 11 at Aspen Commerce City Chapel, Commerce City, Colo. Burial was in Fort Logan National Cemetery. She is survived by two sons, Larry, Arvada, Colo., and Damian, Federal Heights, Colo.; and four brothers, Martin, Everett, Leonard and Alvin Miller, all of Bismarck. Dean Marden
WILLISTON -- Dean Marden, 68, Williston, formerly of Ray, died May 10, 2001, in a Mandan medical center. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Williston. Burial will be in Bainville Cemetery, Bainville, Mont. He is survived by two sisters, Norma Holly, Ray, and Blanche Howard, Columbia, Mo. (Fulkerson Funeral Home, Williston)

Doefil Wagner
Doefil Wagner, 93, Bismarck, died May 11, 2001, in a Bismarck care center. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Faith Lutheran Church, Bismarck. Further arrangements are pending with Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan.

Albert Weiss
Albert Charles Weiss, 88, Bismarck, died May 10, 2001, in a Bismarck care center. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center Chapel, Bismarck, with the Rev. Wilfred Hanson officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, and for one hour prior to services at the care center. Albert was born Jan. 16, 1913, in Crystal, to William and Louise (Heinrichs) Weiss. He graduated from Crystal High School and began farming. He and Ann Louella Whelan were married in 1938. They farmed at Crystal until 1966, when they moved to California. They moved to Bismarck in 1977 following their retirement. Albert was a member of the Eagles and Elks Clubs. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ann; their nine children, Thomas Albert Weiss, San Diego, Calif., William (Darlene) Weiss, Bismarck, Mary Ann Elvrum, Devils Lake, Kathleen Hoover, Bismarck, Carol Woodman, Friendswood, Texas, Paul Weiss, California, John (Renae) Weiss and Albert Weiss, both of Redondo Beach, Calif., and Margaret (Chester) Rust, Houston, Texas; 20 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Louise Radke and Esther Lewis; and one son-in-law, Tony Hoover.
