Lillian Buchmann
Lillian Buchmann, 87, Bismarck, died Jan. 12, 2000, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Seventh-day Adventist Church, Bismarck. Further arrangements are pending at Boelter Funeral Home.

Lora Redington
Lora C. Redington, 82, Bismarck, died Jan. 13, 2000, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Century Baptist Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Gordon Stark officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.
Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Saturday at Eastgate Funeral Service. Lora Bronsak was born July 25, 1917, near Ruso, the daughter of George and Amber (Jackling) Bronsak. She was raised in Turtle Lake, graduating from high school there in 1935. She attended Minot State Teacher's College for two years. Following college, she taught school at Turtle Lake, Harvey, Goodrich and Wilton. Lora married Jonathan E. Redington on Nov. 23, 1944, at Turtle Lake. They lived on the farm for 10 years before moving to Wilton in 1954. They moved to Bismarck in 1957, but continued to farm north of Wilton until 1976.
Lora was very involved with Child Evangelism Fellowship and had one of the first Good News Clubs in Bismarck where children could hear the Gospel. She was active with Christian Women's Club, and was a member of Century Baptist Church.
Lora carried herself with dignity throughout her life and especially enjoyed having all her family in her home. She delighted in attending her children and grandchildrens' performances in music and sports. She also loved to read and work on crossword puzzles.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Knute Brock, Bismarck; four sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Janet, West Fargo, George and Lindell, Ellinwood, Kan., Lee and Michele, West Fargo, and Dean and Esther, Minot; and 11 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jonathan, in 1993; her parents; and one brother, Lowell. The family prefers memorials to Child Evangelism Fellowship.

Marie Bergrud
DEVILS LAKE -- Marie C. Bergrud, 97, Devils Lake, died Jan. 13, 2000, in the Devils Lake care center. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Viking Lutheran Church, Maddock. Further arrangements are pending at Nelson Funeral Home, Maddock.

Mark Lanenga
SYKESTON -- Mark J. Lanenga, 41, Sykeston, died Jan. 11, 2000, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Carrington, and Carrington Cemetery. He is survived by one son, Alex, Valley City; three daughters, Allison, Carrington, and Amanda and Sierra, both of Fessenden; two sisters, Deb DeVillers, Carrington, and Renee Schweitzer, Fargo; and one brother, Scott, Nashville, Tenn. Melvin Modin
SHEYENNE -- Melvin E. Modin, 80, Sheyenne, New Rockford, died Jan. 12, 2000, in the New Rockford nursing home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church, Sheyenne, with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Sheyenne.
He is survived by two sons, Ricky, Fargo, and Allen, Maple Valley, Wash.; one daughter, Beverly Nitschke, Seattle; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Anna Modin, Sheyenne. (Evans Funeral Home, New Rockford)

Michael Ressler
Michael J. Ressler, 77, 1110 Laramie Drive, Bismarck, died Jan. 13, 2000, in a Bismarck hospital. Arrangements are pending at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan.

Raymond Rauscher
ELGIN -- Raymond Rauscher, 73, Elgin, died Jan. 12, 2000, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. MST Saturday at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Elgin, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Irene; one son, Darryl, Springfield, Ill.; three daughters, Donnell Brychel, Lenexa, Kan., Debbie Belka, Minneapolis, and Brenda Eslinger, Elgin; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Elmer, Elgin, and Henry, Mobridge, S.D.; and five sisters, Elsie Zimmerman, Missoula, Mont., Hilda Horst, Grandview, Wash., Leola Dietz, Linton, Mildred Knodel, Escondido, Calif., and Alta Hamilton, Livermore, Calif. (Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home, Elgin)

Robert Fisher
Robert K. Fisher, formerly of Bismarck, died Jan. 3, 2000, in Omaha, Neb. He was residing in Papillion, Neb., at the time of his death.
When he lived in Bismarck, Mr. Fisher was in the construction business and built many houses. A funeral service was held on Jan. 7, 2000, at Faith Presbyterian Church, LaVista, Neb.
Local survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Laurie and Stephen Eastin, Mandan; and a grandson, James, also of Mandan.
In addition to them, Mr. Fisher is survived by his wife, Rita; seven other children; 15 other grandchildren; a great-grandson; and one brother and two sisters.
The family prefers that memorials locally be made to the Portal Fund of the First Presbyterian Church, Mandan.

Therese Klee
HALLIDAY -- Therese Marie Klee, 82, Halliday, died Jan. 12, 2000, in the Dickinson hospital. Services will be held at 1 p.m. MST Monday at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Halliday. Further arrangements are pending at Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson.

Albert W. Cook, 86, Bismarck, died Dec. 31, 1999, in a Bismarck hospital. Arrangements are pending at Bismarck Funeral Home.

Bertha Jans
MCCLUSKY -- Bertha Jans, 76, McClusky, died Dec. 31, 1999, in the Turtle Lake hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church, McClusky, with burial in Our Savior's Lutheran Cemetery, rural Mercer.

She is survived by three daughters, Violet Jans and Linda Murray, both of McClusky, and Ella Peterson, Mercer; two sons, Leo, Butte, and Larry, Bismarck; 14 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Walter Manz, Minot, Eddie Manz, Minneapolis, and Harold Manz, Spokane, Wash.; and three sisters, Alice Burkart and Lydia Hall, both of Minot, and Anna Walth, Fargo. GLEN ULLIN -- Dale Schwartz, 49, Glen Ullin, died Dec. 31, 1999, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MST Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Glen Ullin. Further arrangements are pending at Spangelo Funeral Home, Glen Ullin.

Ellen Hovdestad Collins, 87, Minot, died Dec. 30, 1999, in a Minot care center. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church, Minot, with burial in Rising LUtheran Cemetery, rural Norwich.

She is survived by one son, Gary Hovdestad, Minot; one daughter, Donelda Jessen, Dickinson; one stepson, James Collins, Minot; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one brother, John Jonason, Williston. (Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot)

Helen Jorda
DICKINSON -- Helen Jorda, 75, Dickinson, died Dec. 24, 1999, in California. Services will be held at 9 a.m. MST Monday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Dickinson, with burial at 2 p.m. CST Monday in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan.

She is survived by three sons, Frank Jr., Big Timber, Mont., Bernard, Wichita Falls, Texas, and Tom, Dickinson; four daughters, Margaret Mezey, Los Angelas, Elizabeth McCullough, Antigua, Guatemala, Kathleen Bickel, Moreno Valley, Calif., and Joan Crooks, Post Falls, Idaho; one sister, Alice Bartelo, Dansville, N.Y.; one brother, Fran Nagle, Seattle; 26 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Helge Sloan
KILLDEER -- Helge Sloan, 95, Killdeer, died Dec. 28, 1999, in the Killdeer nursing home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. MST Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Killdeer, with burial in Whetstone Cemetery, Killdeer.

He is survived by two sisters, Dagmar Sloan and Olga Nupen, both of Killdeer. (Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson)

Herbert Beck
LINTON -- Herbert O. Beck, 86, Strasburg, died Dec. 29, 1999, in the Strasburg care center. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, at United Methodist Church, Linton, with the Revs. Terry Arbeiter and Walter Schott officiating. Burial will be in Linton Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, at Myers Funeral Home, Linton, and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

Herbert O. Beck was born on Aug. 5, 1913, on a farm northeast of Linton, the son of Jacob and Sophie (Kallenburger) Beck. He attended a rural school and the Linton Public School. On Oct. 24, 1935, he married Lydia Kurle and they made their home on a farm northeast of Linton. In 1979, they moved into Linton. Lydia died on Jan. 3, 1982. Herb entered the Strasburg Care Center on March 25, 1998.

He was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church and served on the administrative council for many years. Herb enjoyed singing in quartets. He was the road supervisor for the McCulley Township during the 1950s and was the director on the Farmer's Elevator Board.

Grateful to have shared his life are one son and daughter-in-law, Leslie and Adella Beck, Linton, and Betty Schuetz, Mandan; one sister-in-law, Christine Beck, Strasburg; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Herb was preceded in death by his parents; eight brothers; and one stepson, Elroy Schuetz. (Myers Funeral Home, Linton)

Ivan Hinshaw
HALLIDAY -- Ivan Hinshaw, 87, Halliday, died Dec. 30, 1999, in a Dickinson nursing home. Services will be held at 1 p.m. MST Tuesday at St. Luke's Home, Dickinson, with burial in Werner Cemetery, Halliday.

He is survived by two brothers, Orris, Blessfield, Mich., and Glenn, Dickinson. (Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson)

Katherine Ewert
DRAKE -- Katherine Ewert, 90, Drake, died Dec. 29, 1999, near Donnybrook. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Drake, with burial in St. Francis-Xavier Catholic Church, Anamoose.

She is survived by two brothers, Mike, Mandan, and John Jr., Drake; and two sisters, Frances Huso, Velva, and Gertrude Miller, Donnybrook. (Nelson Funeral Home, Fessenden)

Kenneth Repetowski
BELFIELD -- Kenneth Repetowski, 67, Belfield, died Dec. 29, 1999, in the Dickinson hospital. Services will be held at 9 a.m. MST Monday at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Belfield, with burial in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian; two daughters, Roxanne Kuntz, South Heart, and Connie LeFre, Randall, Minn.; one son, Cameron, Dickinson; and two sisters, Laverne Tryon, Minnesota, and Denise Kuitunen, Dallas, Texas. (Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson)

Margaret Elms
WILLISTON -- Margaret Elms, 95, Williston, died Dec. 30, 1999, in the Williston nursing home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Faith United Methodist Church, Williston, with burial in Ortonville, Minn.

She is survived by two sons, Bruce, Longmont, Colo., and Richard, Cool, Calif.; two daughters, Barbara Underhill, Williston, and Carmen Beyer, Danville, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. (Everson Funeral Home, Williston)
