George Schoch
George W. Schoch, 79, 1334 N. 21st Street, Bismarck, passed away March 5, 2000 at his home. Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, at Church of St. Anne, Bismarck, with the Rev. Ed Wehner officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck, with military rites provided by VFW Post No. 1326.
Visitation will be from noon-9 p.m. today at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, where a vigil will be held at 6 p.m. and a Knights of Columbus rosary at 7 p.m. tonight.
George was born Oct. 19, 1920 in Groton, S.D., the youngest of four children of Henry and Jessie (Amsden) Schoch. He grew up on the family farm near Groton. On June 9, 1948, he married Bonnie Hagen in Aberdeen, S.D.
George served in World War II from 1942-1945, stationed in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and the Korean War from 1952-1953, stationed in Korea and Japan. He was a Motor Machinist Mate 1st Class in the U.S. Navy.
He worked at Groton Auto and Tractor, Groton, S.D. for 15 years, Saunders Motors, Aberdeen, for seven years; Empire Lincoln Mercury, Spokane, Wash., for five years; and McCarney Ford, Bismarck as Service Manager from 1965 to 1978.
He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus and a life member of the VFW.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Bruce Nelson, Center, and Susan and Paul McNelly, Champlin, Minn.; six grandchildren, Thea and Aaron Georgeson, Samantha Davis, Ashley Nelson, Stephen and Michael McNelly; and one sister, Margaret Hubbard, Groton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Henry and Jessie Schoch; one brother, Arthur Schoch; and one sister, Phyllis Blackmun.
Memorials are preferred to St. Alexius Hospice. (Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck)

Martha Traxel
BEULAH -- Martha Traxel, 88, Beulah, died March 4, 2000, at her home. Services will be held at 1 p.m. MST Thursday, at Concordia Lutheran Church, Beulah, with burial in St. Matthew Lutheran Cemetery, Hazen.
She is survived by one son, Dallas, Beulah; one daughter, Bernice Adolf, Beulah; 16 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson; two sisters, Alma Miller, Washington, and Toni Raeszler, Beulah; one brother, Benny Link, California. (Seibel Funeral Home, Beulah)

Kenneth Witikko
Kenneth Witikko, 47, formerly of Bismarck, died March 2, 2000 in Austin, Texas. A private family service will be held. Arrangements are with Bismarck Funeral Home.

Marlene Zander
Marlene Zander, 64, rural Mandan, died on March 5, 2000 at her residence. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Vincent's Catholic Church, Crown Butte, with Father John O'Leary and Deacon Bob Olson officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery, Mandan.
Visitation begins today from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, with a parish vigil at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continues at Weigel Funeral Home, Wednesday from 9-10 a.m.
Marlene (Voigt) Zander was born on May 19, 1935 to Frank and Emma (Gress) Voigt. She was born and raised in Elbowoods. She had many special memories of attending high school at the Sacred Heart Academy in Minot. She went on to attend college in Valley City, receiving her teaching degree and then taught school for four years in the Crown Butte area. On June 23, 1955, she married Thomas Zander at St. Vincent's Catholic Church, where she served as the church organist for over 40 years and provided music for more than 100 weddings, anniversaries and funerals. They had eight children and farmed and ranched northwest of Mandan.
Marlene was a devoted wife and mother, and had a very strong faith. She had a zest for life and was well-known for her bubbly personality. She took pleasure in doing craft projects and was a creative seamstress. She also enjoyed gardening and baking, especially delicious homemade bread. Marlene had a special love for music, sharing her talents with many over the years. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, most especially her grandchildren.
Marlene will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband, Thomas, Mandan; four sons and daughters-in-law, Kim and Landy, Loveland, Colo., Thomas Jr. and Nancy, Gene and Wendy, and Doug and Jodi, all of Mandan; three daughters and one son-in-law, Laura Ferderer, Denver, Colo., Anita Zander, Mandan, and De Ann and David Bueligen, New Salem; two special family members, Dennis Gustin and Dave Ferderer; 15 grandchildren and eight brothers and five sisters-in-law, Mark Voigt and Allan and Rosalie Voigt, all of Mandan, Dan and Shirley Voigt, Flasher, George and Patti Voigt, Fargo, Richard and Connie Voigt, Winnett, Mont., Frank Voigt, Graham, Wash., Tom Voigt, Newberg, Ore., Dale and Jane Voigt, Stanwood, Wash.; and two sisters and one brother-in-law, Mary Ann and Murvin Brown, Cheyenne, Wyo., and Vivian Bryant, Great Falls, Mont.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, LaDonna; one sister, Elaine; and two brothers, Charles and Leonard. (Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan)

John Zimmerman
JAMESTOWN -- John K. Zimmerman, 84, of Jamestown, died March 4, 2000 in a Jamestown hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at First Baptist Church, Jamestown, with burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown.
He is survived by his wife, Esther, of Jamestown; a son, Roger Zimmerman, Fort Smith, Ark.; three daughters, Nancy Schauer, Bismarck; Rachel Messmer, Jamestown; Vanessa Englebrecht, Jamestown; three brothers, Gotthilf Zimmerman, Ashley; Rev. Ben Zimmerman, Madison, S.D.; Rev. Gideon Zimmerman, Louisville, Ky.; and 13 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. (Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown)

Christy Lynn
POLLOCK, S.D. -- Christy M. Lynn, 96, Pollock, died March 7, 2000, in Mobridge. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pollock Memorial Presbyterian Church. Further arrangements are pending at Myers Funeral Home, Linton.

Myrtle Manz
MCHENRY -- Myrtle F. Manz, 82, McHenry, died March 3, 2000, in the Lakota care center. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, McHenry, with burial in Bethlehem Cemetery, McHenry.
She is survived by one sister, Hazel Hammond, Sandy Hook, Miss. (Evans Funeral Home, New Rockford)

Alfred Reule
Our father, Alfred Reule, 84, died March 3, 2000, in Spanaway, Wash. He had only recently been told how sick he was and that his time with us would be short. Funeral services for Dad will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Jeff Tengesdal officiating. Burial will be in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, with military rites by VFW Post 1326.
Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. today at Bismarck Funeral Home, and will continue at the church one hour before services.
Dad was born Aug. 15, 1915, in Sheridan County, to John and Rosie (Goehring) Reule. He was raised on a small farm near Denhoff, and was educated in Sheridan County. During World War II he served 5 years in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Fourth Cavalry from Ft. Meade, S.D. He rose to the rank of Tech 4 and spent 11 months in the European Theater. After the war he returned to his beloved North Dakota.
Dad worked in many of the area clubs and was well known in his hometown of Bismarck. His most recent job was the manager of the Knights of Columbus.
Wearing his characteristic bow tie, he was a happy, smiling face behind the bar, always ready with a quick one-liner for anyone who happened to be listening. He was a lifetime member of American Legion, VFW, Elks and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
He was married to two wonderful women in his life, Hazel H. Davis and Theresa Hulm. There were many good times shared and a lifetime of memories.
Dad will be missed by everyone who knew him and especially his family, Diane and Steve Brandsrud and their sons, Seth, Sam and Michah, SGM Ronald and Crystal Reule and their children, Ryan, Janelle, Megan and Alex; his brothers and sisters, Adeline and Orville Schindler, Floyd and Gloria Reule, Melvin and Marge Reule, Ella Schutt, Delores and Don Kludt; and his adopted family of Hulms and Sandaus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Rosie; his brothers, Chester, Herbert and Albert; and his sister, Edna.

Clifford Roth
WILLISTON -- Clifford E. Roth Sr., 83, Williston, died March 6, 2000, in a Williston hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Everson Memorial Chapel, Williston. Further arrangements are pending.

Helen Rusch
Helen Susan (Alden) Rusch, 86, Bismarck, died March 7, 2000, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Century Baptist Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Willis Potratz officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. today at Bismarck Funeral Home, and will continue at the church one hour before services.
Helen was born July 31, 1913, to Lafayette and Susie (Culver) Alden, in Tracey, Minn. She married Reinhold Rusch in Stanley in 1936. They were blessed with 53 years of marriage. They lived in Fessenden, New Town and Bismarck. Reinhold died in 1989. Helen's joy and love were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Fessenden. She loved her Lord and taught her family Christian values. She presently was a resident at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center. She will be dearly missed by all.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Cameron and Mavis, Mesa, Ariz., and Fred and Jean, Bismarck; two daughters and sons-in-law, Delores and William Kanwischer, Bismarck, and Susan and Gary Nather, Sioux Falls, S.D.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Evelyn and Hardin Reynolds, New Town, and Jean and Tony Rohde, Texas; her sister-in-law, Ruth Alden, Stanley; her brothers-in-law, Walter Brehm, New Town, and Clarence Lageson, Benson, Minn.; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Myra Hanson, Amy Lageson and Alice Brehm; and three brothers, Burton, Dale and George.

Anton Welk
CARRINGTON -- Anton Welk, 90, Carrington, died March 6, 2000, in the Carrington hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Carrington. Further arrangements are pending at Evans Funeral Home, Carrington.

Edward Wruck
NEW LEIPZIG -- Edward J. Wruck, 88, New Leipzig, died March 6, 2000, in the Elgin hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. MST Saturday at Christus Congregational United Church of Christ, New Leipzig, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by one son, Burton, New Leipzig; one daughter, Arlene Kleinjan, New Leipzig; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Dorothy Higgins, Billings, Mont. (Hertz Brothers Funeral Home, New Leipzig)

Jason Andes
JAMESTOWN -- Jason Andes, 26, Jamestown, formerly of Parshall, died March 8, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. Arrangements are pending with Johnson Funeral Home, Parshall.

Howard Hasche
Howard E. Hasche, 84, Bismarck, died March 7, 2001, in a local hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at McCabe United Methodist Church, Bismarck, with the Revs. Rick Fossum and Art Scanson officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery, Minneapolis, Minn.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. today and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church.

Howard was born Aug. 22, 1916, in DeSmet, S.D., the son of Bernard and Mary (Steen) Hasche. After graduating from South Dakota State University and working in Minneapolis, he joined the Army and served with the Corps of Engineers during World War II.

Howard married Joan Creswell Oct. 1, 1944, in Minneapolis. Howard joined Montana-Dakota Utilities in 1946 in Glendive, Mont. Howard and Joan moved to Bismarck in 1970, where he retired from MDU in 1980.

Howard was a member of McCabe United Methodist Church, Bismarck, and a past trustee of Mt. Republic Chapel, Cooke City, Mont., and United Methodist Church, Glendive.

Howard enjoyed fly-fishing, music, dancing, house projects and his and Joan's cabin in the Montana mountains.

He is survived by his wife, Joan; one son and daughter-in-law, John and Kitty, Aurora, Colo.; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Joan and Alvin Trafton, Manhattan Beach, Calif.; one granddaughter, Sarah Trafton, Manhattan Beach, Calif.; and one sister, Irene Hasche, Denver, Colo.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the charity of the donor's choice.

Myron Johnson
PARSHALL -- Myron Johnson, 75, Parshall, died March 8, 2001, at his home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at United Church of Christ, Parshall. Burial will be in the city cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Norma; two sons, Mick, Hazen, and Tim, Parshall; 11 grandchildren; two brothers, Tom, Parshall, and Bob, Castuc, Calif.; and one sister, Thelma Baker, Parshall. (Johnson Funeral Home, Parshall)

Myrtle Jorstad
TIOGA -- Myrtle Jorstad, 56, Tioga, died March 9, 2001, in a Tioga medical center. Arrangements are pending with Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga.

Nellie Judin
MEDINA -- Nellie I. Judin, 87, Medina, died March 7, 2001, at her home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at English Lutheran Church, Medina. Burial will be held in the spring in the city cemetery.

She is survived by seven children, Gordon Trudeau, Bremerton, Wash., Joella Judin, Jamestown, Johanna Benker of Vacaville, Calif., Myrtle Koste, St. Louis, Mo., and Shirley Judin, John Judin and Rudolph Judin, all of Medina; and eight grandchildren. (Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown)

Pat Koenig
GARRISON -- Pat Koenig, 70, Garrison, died March 9, 2001, in a Garrison hospital. Arrangements are pending with Thompson Funeral Home, Garrison.
