WATFORD CITY -- Arno H. Wisness, 85, Watford City, died May 11, 2000 in the Watford City hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. today, at First Lutheran Church, Watford City, with burial in Schafer Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Anna; three sons, Robert and Richard, both of Watford City, and A. Douglas, Puyallup, Wash.; two brothers, Lester, Keene, and Henry, Bismarck; and two sisters, Gladys Thompson, Watford City, and Emma Day, Freemont, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. NEW SALEM -- August Christian, 86, New Salem, died May 27, 2000, in the New Salem nursing home. Arrangements are pending at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan.

Anton Lesmeister
Anton Lesmeister, 84, died May 26, 2000, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Church of Corpus Christi, Bismarck, with the Rev. Steve Zastoupil officiating. Entombment will in Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Bismarck. Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Tuesday at Eastgate Funeral Service, where a vigil will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Anton was born at home on the family farm on Jan. 17, 1916, to Ludwig and Theresia Lesmeister. He attended rural school through the eighth grade. Anton had four brothers and four sisters. He worked on the family farm until he was 23, then started farming on his own. On July 24, 1946, he married his long-time girlfriend, Signe Marie Sand at Van Hook. They built a new house in town and farmed in the Harvey area until 1956 when they moved to Everett, Wash. He worked for Pacific Gas and Boeing Aircraft Co. until 1958. In the spring of 1958 they moved to Minot, where he worked as a carpenter at the Minot Air Force Base and for Western Hotels. In 1964 they returned to Harvey and bought his parent's farm. Signe taught school until they retired in 1981. They moved to Bismarck in 1993. He is survived by his son, Lauren, Bismarck; and two sisters, Pauline Lesmeister, Harvey, and Anne Klein, Carrington. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Signe; one daughter, Jacqueline; four brothers and two sisters.

Raymond Joseph Molash
It is with great sadness that we must announce the death of our son. Raymond Joseph Molash, 16 years old of Fort Yates, entered the spirit world on May 26, 2000, in a car accident near Fort Yates. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cannon Ball School Gym, with the Rev. Bill Cosgrove officiating. Burial will be in the Brave Bull Family Cemetery, Cannon Ball. A wake service will begin at 7 p.m. Monday, and a rosary will be said at 8:30 p.m. Monday, both at the Cannon Ball school gym. There will be visitation from 1-4 p.m. Monday at Perry Funeral Home, Mandan. Raymond was born Dec. 8, 1983, at Fort Yates, to Raymond David Molash and Viann Barrett. He grew up with the love of his family around him. Raymond was raised with love and attended school in Fort Yates. He enjoyed humor, laughing with friends, music, playing basketball, being with his family and friends. Raymond loved his two little brothers, Jovan and David dearly. Death is always tragic, especially in someone so young and full of life as Raymond was. We will cherish his memories. His family and friends will sorely miss him. He is survived by his parents; one sister, Sierra Barrett; three brothers, Jovan Barrett, and David and Noah James Molash; his grandmothers, Josephine Barrett and Sarah Molash, both of Fort Yates, and Annie Thunder Hawk, Cannon Ball; his grandfathers, George Brave Bull, Cannon Ball, and Richard W. Barrett, Oregon; many aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends. Raymond was preceded in death by his grandfather, James H. Molash, buried next to great uncle Frank Brave Bull. "Do not be sad. Wipe the tears from your eyes. May my spirit guide you when I am gone. Do not be sad. You are not alone. I walk with you."

BUTTE -- Sam D. Nechiporenko, 95, Butte, died May 25, 2000, in his home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Bethke-Nelson Funeral Home, Drake, with burial in Butte cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Mabel; two sons, Kenneth, Bismarck, and Ronald, Butte; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Danelenko, Carmichael, Calif., and Agnes Palmer, Richmond, Calif.; and four brothers, Russell, Grass Valley, Calif., George and Edward, both of Minot, and Mike, Butte.

HARVEY -- Edith Prom, 91, Jackson, MInn., formerly of Harvey, died May 27, 2000, in a Jackson nursing home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Harvey. Further arrangements are pending at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey.

Isabelle Ripplinger
HARVEY -- Isabelle Ripplinger, 73, Harvey, died May 25, 2000, in the Harvey hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Harvey, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m. Monday at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, where a rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Monday, followed by a prayer service at 7:30. Isabelle was born on the family farm near Esmond on Oct. 17, 1926, to Sebastian and Theresia (Gefroh) Haffner. She grew up and attended school near Esmond and graduated from Esmond High School in 1944. She married John Ripplinger on Nov. 14, 1944, in Esmond. They farmed in the Esmond, Selz and Harvey areas before starting Ripplinger Motors. Isabelle was a faithful helper to her husband on the farm and in the automobile business they owned. Isabelle obtained a second grade elementary teaching certificate and taught in rural schools in the Selz area. She was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, where she served on the Ladies Aid, as a church trustee, on the environment committee, and the cemetery board. She taught CCD for 10 years. She was a life member of the Esmond Christian Mothers. She was a charter member of the Eagles Auxiliary, having served as its treasurer for a number of years. She always had her hands extended to the needy, especially the poor. John and Isabelle also educated a priest in Venezuela. Isabelle worked with the youth in the Farmers Union Organization and was awarded a trip to our nation's capitol for her efforts. Her interest in world history led her to become a world traveler. She and her husband attended the world's largest agricultural show in Paris in 1981, also visiting farms in Germany and Switzerland. Isabelle returned to Europe five more times, once with her mother and sister to Rome, and all the major Marion Shrines. In 1990 the highlight was the passion play in Aberamergau, Germany. She traveled to Venezuela, South America and Guadeloupe, Mexico twice. She also visited 48 of the 50 states and all the Canadian provinces but three. John and Isabelle observed their 50th wedding anniversary in Hawaii. Isabell'e hobbies were reading, ceramics and gardening. She holds many ribbons and rosettes in best of show for her gardening, and ceramic skills. She also enjoyed finishing wood. Isabelle is survived by her husband, John; three sons and daughters-in-law, Claude and Vickie, Harvey, Leon and Laura, Bismarck, and Monte and Diane, Minneapolis; four grandchildren, Nicole Armstrong, Harvey, Chad Ripplinger, Bozeman, Mont., Sara Ripplinger, Bismarck, and Travis Ripplinger, Minneapolis; one great-grandchild, Tyler Rygg, Harvey; five brothers, Sylvester Hoffner, Esmond, Albion Hoffner, Devils Lake, Llewellyn Hoffner, Harvey, Leander Haffner, Minot, and Serenus Hoffner, Bismarck; and two sisters, Lavinia Hopkins, Ryder, and Carlotta Goldade, Minot. Isabelle was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Valeria Haffner and Alice Kirkpatrick.

Kathryn Schnabel
NAPOLEON -- Kathryn Schnabel, 68, Napoleon, died May 27, 2000, at her home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Napoleon, with burial in Napoleon Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Walter; four sons, Danny, Cambridge, Minn., Gary, Napoleon, Randy, Wilton, and David, Torrance, Calif.; one daughter, Karen Bauer, Bancroft, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four sisters, Irene Wirrenga, Adrian, Erma Bohrer, Napoleon, Ardella Eiseman, Napoleon, and Ida Eiseman, Bismarck; and one brother, Ted Hildenbrand, Clear Water, Fla. GARRISON -- David Splichal, 46, Garrison, died May 26, 2000, in the Garrison hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Garrison. Further arrangements are pending at Thompson Funeral Home, Garrison.

Alice Rebecca Zoller
Alice Rebecca "Becky" Zoller, 65, Bismarck, died May 25, 2000, in a Bismarck hospital. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at McCabe United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Art Scanson officiating. Becky was born in Hawkeye, Iowa, on April 30, 1935, the only child of Richard and Hazel (Klipstein) Ludemann. When Becky was 2 years old, the family moved to Menoken and then to Bismarck, where she received her education. She graduated with the class of 1953 at Bis-marck High School where she earned membership in the National Honor Society. Becky married James Zoller, son of John and Martha Zoller, all of Bismarck, on Aug. 18, 1956, at McCabe Methodist Church in Bismarck. Becky enjoyed her positions as receptionist-secretary to governors of North Dakota, including Govs. Norman Brunsdale, John Davis and William Guy. She was then employed by the state Game and Fish Department Commissioner Russell Stuart, and after a short retirement joined the staff of the state Department of Agriculture under Commissioner Kent Jones as assistant office manager. In later years, she was a committee clerk in the N.D. Legislative Assembly and most recently had been a part of the staff of the N.D. Legislative Council as an enrolling and engrossing assistant. Becky and Jim owned and managed Prairie Wind Dog Boarding Kennels, Midway Tavern and the Little Cottage Cafe. Becky was a member of the McCabe United Methodist Church, Eagles Auxiliary, AMVETS Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary. Becky was a devoted and caring daughter, wife, mother and grandmother in her closely knit family. In her quiet caring manner, she was always worried and concerned for the well-being of all her friends and relatives. Becky is survived by her husband, Jim Zoller; one son, John and his fiance, Barb Nies; four grandchildren, Shanna, Leah, Jacob and Samuel; her mother, Hazel Ludemann; her cousins, Alan and Peggy Knoll, Velza Knoll Teeter, Elmer and Ella Agnew; and an even dozen other cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, her grandparents; an uncle, Elmer Klipstein; an aunt, Alice Knoll Schmitz; and other aunts and uncles. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to Home on the Range. (Bismarck Funeral Home)

TURTLE LAKE -- Emil T. Anderson, 82, Turtle Lake, died July 26, 2001, in the Turtle Lake hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Turtle Lake Baptist Church, with burial in Our Savior's Lutheran Cemetery, rural Mercer. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor; three sons, Randolph, Bismarck, Carmen, Turtle Lake, and Michael, Mercer; two daughters, Gwendolyn Schmidt, Bismarck, and Ellen Anderson, Bismarck; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and one great-great-grandson. Mary Delzer
NAPOLEON -- Mary Delzer, 83, Napoleon, died July 25, 2001, in the Napoleon care center. Arrangements are pending at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Napoleon.

Vivian Dietrich
Vivian K. Dietrich, 86, Mandan, died July 25, 2001, in a foster care home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church, Mandan, with burial in Mandan Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. today at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan. There will be no visitation at the church. Vivian Katherine Edwards was born April 2, 1915, in Mandan, the daughter of Oscar and Sena (Jacobsen) Edwards. Raised and educated in Mandan, she married Richard Dietrich on Sept. 10, 1938. They lived their entire married life in Mandan. The Lord was of primary importance and she led her children to share the same strong faith. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Harry Stastny, Mandan, Susan Dietrich, Albuquerque, N.M., and Sally Dietrich, Bismarck; her sons and daughters-in-law, Dick and Shirley, Bismarck, and Ted, Laramie, Wyo.; seven grandchildren, the Rev. Kerry Stastny, Holly Stastny, Darren Stastny and his wife, Tracey, Heidi Stastny, and Jeff Dietrick, Erik Dietrich and Laura Dietrich; her sisters, Nora Sponheimer, Tucson, Ariz., and Hilda Sallows and her husband, Grant, Sunland, Calif.; her sisters-in-law, Audrey Edwards, Albia, Iowa, and Marvis Dietrich, Arizona; her brother-in-law, Lloyd Dietrich and his wife, Florence, San Luis Obispo, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard "Pat," who died on March 8, 1995; her brothers, Einer, Carl, Alf, Leif, and an infant; and her sisters, Eleanor Vendt and Evelyn Bucklin.

Walter Fredrickson
WILLISTON -- Walter S. Fredrickson, 89, Williston, died July 24, 2001, in the Williston hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Everson Funeral Home, Williston. He is survived by his wife, Evalyn; his step-children, Dave Rossland, Tim Rossland, Doris Martinson and Dorothy Bertrand; numerous grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Freeda Gehring
GARRISON -- Freeda Gehring, 91, Garrison, died July 26, 2001, in a Garrison care center. Arrangements are pending at Thompson Funeral Home, Garrison.

Walter Hindemith
Walter A. Hindemith, 82, former longtime Bismarck resident, died July 23, 2001, in Glendale, Ariz. Memorial services were held July 26 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Arizona. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck, at a later date. Walter was born Oct. 6, 1918, in Eureka, S.D., the son of Fred and Christina Hindemith. He graduated from Ashley High School. Walter and his brother, Oscar, opened and operated Hindemith Tin Shop in Bismarck in 37 years. In addition to his heating and air conditioning expertise, he was an excellent tinsmith who created and designed unique sheet-metal projects in the Bismarck area. He married Frances Maxfield in 1945. They were married for 43 years. Fran died in 1988. He met and married Robert Pellerito and they eventually moved to Glendale. Roberta also preceded Walter in death. He was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Dakota Drifters, the National Campers and Hikers Association, and the Eagles. He is survived by five daughters, Virginia Morris, Zephyrhills, Fla., Crystal Roy, Grand Forks, Doris Hindemith, Phoenix, Betty Osborn, Sioux Falls, S.D., and B.J. Eick, Bloomingdale, Ill.; two step-children, Marie Pellerito, Glendale, and Tom Pellerito, Canton, Mich.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials to be sent to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, Ariz. 85014-5656.

Adaline Hurkes
HAZELTON -- Adaline K. Hurkes, 88, Hazelton, died July 25, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Hazelton, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. today at Myers Funeral Home, Linton, and will continue at the church one hour before services. A prayer service will begin at 7 tonight at the funeral home. Adaline was born July 19, 1913, in Hazelton, the daughter of John B. and Elizabeth (Sadler) Landsberger. She was raised and educated in Hazelton. She spent her entire life in Hazelton except for three years. She attended Hazelton Public School and graduated from Hazelton High School in 1931. Adaline married Mike J. Hurkes, Sept. 19, 1933, in Hazelton. They lived in rural Watertown, S.D. until moving to Hazelton in 1973, where they farmed. Mike died in October 1985. Adaline continued to live in Hazelton, where she was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She also taught CCD and played the church organ for 35 years. Adaline was a very active volunteer for Right to Life and the Hazelton Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed singing with the Linton Senior Citizens, bowling, and was very interested in political issues. Adaline will always be remembered for her deep faith and love of Jesus, and for her compassionate care she showed to family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to a charity in memory of Adaline. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, James and Yvonne Hurkes, Bismarck and Hazelton; five daughters and three sons-in-law, Joanne and Eugene Sandwick, Bismarck, Marianne and Lee Carlson, Tampa, Fla., Marjorie and Ray Aberle, Mandan, Patricia Hurkes, Denver, Cynthia Hurkes, Roseburg, Ore.; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Albert Landsberger, Bismarck; three sisters, Rosemary Landsberger, Theresa Stramer and Dolores Kuntz, all of Bismarck. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and one son, Mickey T. Hurkes, in 1982.

Herman Klein, 84, Bismarck, died July 24, 2001, in a Bismarck care center. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Bismarck Baptist Church, with burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Further arrangements are pending at Bismarck Funeral Home.

Ruth Renschler
LINTON -- Ruth C. Renschler, 79, formerly of Linton, died July 23, 2001, in a Tempe, Ariz. care center. Services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday at Peace Lutheran Church, Linton, with burial in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan, at 1 p.m. Monday. She is survived by one son, Jim, Kansas City, Mo.; four daughters, Louann Walther, Mesa, Ariz., Louise Johnston, Albuquerque, N.M., Elaine Tews, Great Falls, Mont., and Jeanne Richter, Lewistown, Mont.; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Bill Frank, Las Vegas; and one sister, Betty Bollinger, Chandler, Ariz. FULLERTON -- Dolly Marlis Webster, 75, Hudson, Wis., died July 22, 2001, in a Hudson care center. Services were held July 25 in Hudson. Burial will be today in Maple View Cemetery, Fullerton. She is survived by one brother, Ralph Johnson, Apple Valley, Minn.
