TURTLE LAKE -- Deloris Bauer, 70, Turtle Lake, died May 1, 2000, in a St. Paul, Minn. hospital after heart surgery. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Turtle Lake. Further arrangements are pending at Goetz Funeral Home, Turtle Lake.

Julia Bergstad
MINOT -- Julia Bergstad, 86, Minot, formerly of Velva, died May 2, 2000, in a Minot hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Velva, with burial in Velva Community Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 6:30 tonight at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, where a rosary will be said at 7:30 tonight. Visitation will continue from from 1-5:30 p.m. Thursday at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Velva. A rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the church. Julia was born Dec. 22, 1913, in Orrin, the daughter of Peter and Margaret (Wentz) Degenstein. She attended rural schools near Karlsruhe. She married Bernard Bergstad in 1946. They farmed in the Voltaire area. Her husband died in 1964 and she moved into Voltaire. She was employed by the Velva Public School as a bus driver and cook. She also cooked at the Star Lanes Cafe in Velva. She moved into Velva in 1982, and then to Minot in 1999 because of health reasons. She was a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church and the women's guild, both of Velva. She was also a member of Voltaire Homemakers Club. She is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law, Harry and Betty, Voltaire, Kenny and Mary, Bismarck, Alan and Nora, Hazen, and James, Minot; two daughters and one son-in-law, Mona Johnson, Minot, and Judy and Steve Fowler, Minot; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four brothers, Walter Degenstein, Bergen, Bennie Degenstein, Minot, Raymond Degenstein, Phoenix, Ariz., and Edward Degenstein, Lodi, Calif.; one sister, Catherine Marback, Devils Lake; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bernard; one son, Albert; one sister, Elizabeth; and one brother, Leonard.

Forrest E. Bold
Forrest E. Bold, 75, Bismarck, formerly of McClusky, died May 2, 2000, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Eastgate Funeral Service, with the Rev. Iva Lauderminth officiating. Burial will be at at 10 a.m. Monday in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation will be from 6-9 tonight, and 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Eastgate Funeral Service. Forrest Eugene Bold was born April 7, 1925, at Chaseley, the son of Vernal and Mabel (Severson) Bold. As a young boy, he moved with his family to McClusky. He graduated from McClusky High School. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and served in the Philippines Theater. He graduated from North Dakota State School of Science in electrical technology. On July 27, 1947, he married Betty Nording. He worked for Tri-County Electric in Carrington until his retirement. He was a member of Carrington Fire Department, where he served as their chief, he was a past president of North Dakota Fire Chief's Association, was instrumental in establishing the Carrington Ambulance Service, and was a former member of the Masonic Lodge and Shriners. He was also a past post commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of McClusky Methodist Church. He is survived by three sons and one daughter-in-law, Timothy, Carrington, Richard and RoxsAnne, Lincoln, and David, Fort Knox, Tenn.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle and Ben Hager, Carrington, and Roberta Jo and Carey Koch, Bismarck; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Russel and Betty, Mt. Morris, Ill., Dallas and Marian, McClusky, and Wendall and Leona, Fullerton, Calif.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Bonnie and Lanny Wilson, Boulder, Colo., and Donella and Dean Johnson, Pick City; one brother-in-law, Milton Nies, Bismarck; one sister-in-law, Polly Bold, Towner; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Betty; and two brothers, Kenneth and Darrell.

Jeffrey Dahle
WEST FARGO -- Jeffrey Dahle, 93, West Fargo, died May 1, 2000, in a Fargo nursing home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Faith Lutheran Church, West Fargo, with burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo. He is survived by his wife, Erva; two sons, Jim, Coon Rapids, Minn., and Tom, Bismarck; and four grandchildren. (West Funeral Home, West Fargo)

Clarence R. Dockter
Clarence R. Dockter, 66, Bismarck, died May 1, 2000, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Church of the Nazarene, 4209 Old Red Trail, Mandan, with the Rev. Dave Baker officiating. Burial will be in Center Community Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7-9 tonight and 9 a.m.-noon Thursday at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mnadan. Visitation will continue at the church one hour before services. Clarence R. was born Oct. 9, 1933, at Anamoose, the son of August and Marie (Morlang) Dockter. A truck driver, he married Corrine Anderson-Christian on June 30, 1990. Clarence loved his family very much. Clarence leaves behind his loving wife, Corrine L.; his former wife, Ravonne Schalesky, and their five daughters, Joan Brezden, Mandan, Kim Dwarshak, Iowa, Donna Wacker, Turtle Lake, Neda Holznagel, Washburn, and Wendy Helbling, Mandan; his step-daughter, Lissa Christian, Eugene, Ore.; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one step-grandson; his brothers and sisters, Reuben, Roy, Erwin, Ralph, Delores Bohlender, Marjorie Chandler, Herbert, Clifford, Betty Larson and Marion Killian; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

KILLDEER -- George Gunwall, 72, Killdeer, died April 29, 2000, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. MDT today at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Killdeer, with burial in Dunn Center Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Norene; six sons, David, Moorhead, Minn., Wayne, Ponca City, Okla., Tom, West Columbia, S.D., Jeff, Gaston, S.C., and Robin, West Columbia, and Mickey, Gaston; one daughter, Jean Velenchenko, Shepherd, Mont.; one stepson, Ronald Lasorenko, Bismarck; three brothers, Forest, Artesia, N.M., Harvey, Utah, and John, Manning; one sister, Joyce Clark, Kennewick, Wash.; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Marie Elizabeth Nix
Marie Elizabeth Nix, 76, Wibaux, died April 30, 2000, in Wibaux. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Thursday at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Wibaux, with the Revs. Julian Nix, Joseph Ponessa and Jose Valliparambil officiating. Burial will be in Wibaux Cemetery. A rosary and vigil will beign at 7 tonight at Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home, Wibaux. Marie was born Sept. 10, 1923, on the family farm near St. Philip's, Mont., the daughter of Joseph and Irene Setera Podolski. She was raised and received her elementary education in the St. Philip's area, graduating from Wibaux County High School. She then attended college in Billings, Mont., where she received her teaching certificate. Marie was married to Albert L. "Nicky" Nix, in Wibaux on June 5, 1946. Marie lived her whole life in Wibaux County. Marie was an active member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Wibaux, the American Legion, VFW, and a local bridge club. Prior to her marriage, Marie had taught school at rural schools in Dawson County. After her marriage, her life was centered around raising her five children and being grandmother to 14 grandchildren. Marie's family benefited from her talents of cooking, quilting, crocheting and prayer. Marie was preceded in death by one brother, George Podolski; and one grandson, William Roberts. Marie is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Angie and John Ross, Bismarck, Joyce and Dave Roberts, Helena, Mont., and Andree Nix and her significant other, Greg Lombardi, Denver; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Larry, Bartlesville, Okla., and Patrick and Julie, Bozeman, Mont.; five sisters, Regina Terrazas, Agnes Maus, Clarie Lehnen, Esther Schmeling and Dorothy Frank; two brothers, Tom Podolski and Ernie Podolski; and 13 grandchildren, Brant Ross, Jacob Nix, Jennifer Nix, Erin Nix, Tony Roberts, Joe Roberts, Andy Roberts, Tom Roberts, David Roberts, Peter Nix, Ryan Nix, Kellie Nix and Trevor Nix Lombardi.

Norris Pederson
Norris Pederson, 58, Mandan, formerly of Finley, died May 2, 2000, in an Iowa City, Iowa, hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Finley Lutheran Church. Further arrangements are pending at Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home, Finley.

Weylyn Randell Pickner
CANNON BALL -- Weylyn Randell Pickner, the infant son of Randy A. Pickner and Bernetta L. Thunder Hawk, Cannon Ball, was stillborn, April 30, 2000, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Veteran's Memorial Building, Cannon Ball, with the Rev. Bill Cosgrove officiating. Burial will be in St. Elizabeth's Cemetery, Cannon Ball. He is survived by his parents; four sisters, Tiffany, Brittany and Lakita Thunder Hawk, all of Cannon Ball, and Winona Pickner, Sioux Falls, S.D.; five brothers, Gabe and Andrew Thunder Hawk, Cannon Ball, Jason Thunder Hawk, Washington, D.C., and Wiley and Waytte Pickner, both of Sioux Falls; and his grandparents, Annie Thunder Hawk, Cannon Ball, and Earl Pickner and Theresa Red Bear, Fort Thompson, S.D. RAY -- Della Salveson, 91, Ray, died April 30, 2000. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Ray Lutheran Church, with burialin Sunset Rest Cemetery, Ray. She is survived by four sons, Marland, Casper, Wyo., Lloyd, Farmington, N.M., Gerald, Rose Land, Fla., and Curtis, Williston; one daughter, Mary Ware, Rosamond, Calif.; 30 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Doris Turcotte
WILLISTON -- Doris Turcotte, 80, Williston, died April 30, 2000, in the Williston nursing home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Trenton, with burial in Trenton Cemetery. She is survived by three sons, Duane Brien, Trenton, Clarence Turcotte, Jacksonville, Fla., and Gary Turcotte, Shreveport, La.; two daughters, Wanda Sinclair, Soledad, Calif., and Kaye Tufton, Nisland, S.D.; one stepdaughter, Dolly Turcotte, Williston; 19 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Hope, Coulee Dam, Wash., and Eleanor Wilhelm, Kalispell, Mont.; and two brothers, Willard Morin, Kalispell, and Bernard Morin, Elmer City, Wash. Joe Voller
BOWDLE -- Joe Voller, 98, Bowdle, died May 1, 2000, in the Bowdle nursing home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Augustine's Catholic Church, Bowdle, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Adeline; one son, Lloyd, Bowdle; one daughter, Virginia Bieber, Bismarck; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Magdalena Wanner
DICKINSON -- Magdalena Wanner, 85, Dickinson, died May 2, 2000, in a Dickinson nursing home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Friday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson. Further arrangements are pending at Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson.

Bernard E. Weinreich
NEW SALEM -- Bernard E. Weinreich, 83, New Salem, died April 26, 2000, in his home. Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m. MDT Thursday at Peace Church, New Salem, with the Rev. Harley Holden officiating. Burial will be in Peace Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Bernard E. Weinreich was born Jan. 23, 1917, at Blue Grass, the son of August and Mary (Nagel) Weinreich. He was raised and educated in the Blue Grass and New Salem areas, graduating from New Salem High School in1930. He attended and graduated from Dickinson State College in 1935. He taught school for two years. Bernard worked on the WPA during the late 1930s. In 1946 he moved to Bismarck. He took on sales positions, working at men's clothing stores for about six years. Bernard developed a variety of interests, from music to reading to photography. In the 1940s he sang the bass solos at Trinity Lutheran Church (The Messiah) McCabe United Methodist Church and First Presbyterian in Bismarck. Bernard was in the Naval Reserve Training and received an honorable discharge in 1954. Bernard operated Weinreich Photography in downtown Bismarck for 20 years. In later years he did writing about historical things and events in the New Salem area which were published in the New Salem Journal. He was a member of Peace Church and the Pioneer Club. Bernard is survived by his nieces and nephews, Alice Marie Krahn, Audrey Spencer, Carol Hansen, Harvey Weinreich, Jean Taylor, Arden Hagerott and Leon Hagerott and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; and four siblings.

Catherine Anderson
EDGELEY -- Catherine Anderson, 73, Edgeley, died May 1, 2000, in a Fargo hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Transfiguration Catholic Church, Edgeley, with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Edgeley. She is survived by six sons, Mark, Tim, Brian and David, all of Edgeley, and Curtis and Craig, both of Fargo; three daughters, Susan Anderson and Cheryl Anderson, both of Fargo, and Carol Sather, West Fargo; two grandchildren; two sisters, RoseMary Lubenow, Fargo,and Phyllis Jerstad, Grand Forks; and two brothers, Allen Wald, Edgeley, and Patrick Wald, LaMoure. KENMARE -- Jolene Ankenbauer, 47, Minot, died May 1, 2000. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at United Methodist Church, Kenmare, with burial in Lakeview Cemetery, Kenmare. She is survived by her parents, Berlin and Joy Ankenbauer, Kenmare; one brother, Kim, Washburn; and one sister, Holly Westlake, Kenmare. (Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot)

Dolores L. Bauer
TURTLE LAKE -- Dolores L. Bauer, 70, Turtle Lake, died May 1, 2000, in the St. Paul hospital after heart surgery. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Turtle Lake, with burial in Turtle Lake Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Irvin; two daughters, Susan Stuckness, Sioux Falls, S.D., and Sandy Kenyon, Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sons, Jerry Walker and Steve Walker, both of Colorado Springs; two stepdaughters, Brenda Wiese, Mandan, and Carla Iszler, New Salem; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandsons; and one brother, Don Boyeff, Minot. Helen Anna Cook
Helen Anna Cook, 88, Bismarck, died May 2, 2000. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bismarck Baptist Home Chapel. There will be evening visitation with the family in the Capitol Estates Community Room, 1120 N. 12th St. from 7-9 p.m. Friday. Helen Cornelius was born March 14, 1912, in Wyndmere, and was raised in Aberdeen, S.D. She met Raymond E. Cook while attending the St. Paul Bible Institute (Crown College) and they were married in 1935. In 1938 they left for missionary work in the Republic of Gabon, Africa (under the Christian and Missionary Alliance) where they served for nearly 30 years. During their furloughs from Gabon they lived in St. Paul, Minn. They retired to Ft. Myers, Fla., in 1984 and moved to Bismarck in 1995. Helen entered the New Horizons Alzheimers Unit of the Baptist Home in 1996. Helen is survived by her husband, Raymond E. Cook Sr.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rae Joyce and John Marsyla, Woodbury, Minn., and Earlyne and Clyde Leimberer, Bismarck; one son and daughter-in-law, Raymond Jr. and Rose, Bridgeville, Penn.; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters; and two brothers. Barbara Eberle
HAGUE -- Barbara Eberle, 85, formerly of Hague and Bismarck, died May 1, 2000, in Fredricksburg, Va. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hague, with the Rev. Leonard Eckroth officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. today at Myers Funeral Home, Linton, where a prayer service will begin at 7 tonight. Visitation will continue at the church one hour before services. Barbara was born June 9, 1914, near Zeeland, the daughter of Anton and Eva Feist. She was raised near Zeeland and attended country school. She married Frank Eberle in 1931, at Zeeland. They moved to Hague, where they owned and operated a cream station. They also operated the Hague Grocery Store for six years. Frank died on Jan. 7, 1979. Barb then worked in the Hague Cafe until retiring and moving to Bismarck in 1997. Barb was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Alter Society, Hague, and Church of the Ascension in Bismarck. Barb enjoyed crocheting, baking and cooking. She will always be remembered for her excellent pies. She is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law, Wilfred and Helen, Bismarck, Norbert and Jeanette, Green Valley, Ariz., Leonard, Denver, and Daniel and Marguerite, Phoenix; two daughters and one son-in-law, Eleanor Eberle, Bismarck, and Carol and Gregory Marsillo, Fredricksburg; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Anton A. and Elizabeth, Bismarck, Frank A. and Elizabeth, Minneapolis, and Aloys and Phil, Fort Myers, Fla.; one brother-in-law, Tony Knoll, Strasburg; and special friend, Beverly Smith, Bismarck. She was preceded in daeth by her parents; her husband; one grandson, Danny Joe Eberle; two sisters, Elizabeth Knoll and Anna Marie Streifel; and two brothers, Joe and John Feist.

He is survived by his wife, Valorayne; two sons, Jonathon, Dickinson, and Christoffer, Decorah, Iowa; one daughter, Kirsten, Veblen, S.D.; one granddaughter; two brothers, Eldred, Lancaster, Ky., and Robert, Minot; and one sister, Elaine Hoime, Sacramento, Calif.
