Gudrun Hatling
Gudrun Hatling, 96, Bismarck, formerly of New Rockford, died May 20, 2001, in a Bismarck care center. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church, New Rockford. Burial will be in Prairie Home Cemetery, New Rockford. She is survived by one daughter, Marilyn Throlson, Bismarck; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Clara Dornier and Thora Moen, both of Mayville. WISHEK -- Gottfried Riebhagen, 86, Wishek, formerly of Fredonia, died May 19, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at United Church of Christ, Wishek. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Kulm Congregational Cemetery, Kulm. He is survived by his wife, Lilia; and one sister, Edna Hildenbrand, Escodido, Calif. TIOGA -- Mavis Roloff died in a Minot hospital. Arrangements are pending with Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga.

George Seekins
JAMESTOWN -- George D. Seekins, 75, Jamestown, died May 20, 2001, in the Jamestown hospital. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, Jamestown. Burial will be in Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown. He is survived by his wife , Melba; three daughters, Lesley Nystrom, Shoreview, Minn., Marcia Ringstrom, Sioux Falls, S.D., and Judy Arnold, Ashburn, Va.; five grandchildren; one brother, Richard, Jamestown; and two sisters, Joanne Joslin and Joyce Johnson, both of Tucson, Ariz. David Doll
David Adam Doll, 58, Melrose Park, Ill., formerly of Mandan, died May 21, 2001, in a Melrose Park hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan, with the Rev. Patrick Schumacher officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from held one hour before services at the funeral home. David was born July 19, 1942, in Mandan, the son of Adam F. and Ida (Miller) Doll. Raised and educated in Mandan, he married Barb Kalvoda in Chicago. He had been employed there as a steel mill machine operator for many years. He is survived by his sons, David Adam and Timothy Doll, both of the Chicago area; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna and Tom Miller, Bismarck, Carol and Jim Kratz, Deadwood, S.D., and Gloria and Jerry Schauer, Hazen; and nieces and nephews, Rebecca Jean Isaac, Jeff, Danny and Jimmy Kratz, Missy and Tommy Miller, and Jason, Jamie and Janae Schauer. His parents preceded him in death.

Robert Eidsvoog
DICKINSON -- Robert J. Eidsvoog, 74, Dickinson, died May 23, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Saturday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dickinson. Further arrangements are pending with Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson.

Anton Ganje
Anton J. Ganje, 82, Bismarck, died May 24, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Church of St. Mary, Bismarck, with the Rev. Charlie Heidt officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. June 1 in St. Mary's Cemetery, Alexandria, Minn. Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. today at Eastgate Funeral Service, where a vigil will be held at 7 tonight. Visitation will continue from one hour before services at the church. Anton J. Ganje was born Feb. 23, 1919, at Esmond, to John and Margaretha (Rieger) Ganje. He was six months old when his family moved to South Dakota where he was raised. He was educated in the Eagle Butte school district. In the "Dirty '30's" (1936), his parents left their homestead and moved to rural Villard, Minn. Anton entered the military service from Pope County, Minn., on March 3, 1942. He was inducted into the U.S. Army at Fort Snelling, Minn., and received basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. His overseas tour was in Europe, where his unit was engaged in the campaigns of Central Europe, Ardennes and Rhineland. He was honorably discharged Oct. 29, 1945, at Camp Shelby, Mississippi's separation center. He was a graduate of Coynes School of Technology in Chicago. He was a licensed master electrician in the state of North Dakota. Anton began his employment with the North Dakota State Electrical Board in late 1949 as an electrical inspector. He was named assistant executive secretary in 1968. This title was changed to director of inspections in 1973. Anton retired in 1984 after 34 years of service. Anton was a charter member of the North Dakota Chapter of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors (I.A.E.I.), twice serving as its president. In 1975 he was elected president of the western section of the I.A.E.I. He was voted honorary membership in I.A.E.I. by the western section executive committee in 1977. Anton was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, American Legion, AMVETS, Eagles, Elks, and a life member of VFW. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing, traveling and playing cards. He liked helping people, especially the less fortunate. Anton is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Albert and Muriel Ganje, Minneapolis, and Bernard and Delores Ganje, Alexandria, Minn.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Victoria Betterman, Conrad, Mont., Mary and Lester Rajdl, Alexandria, and Arthur Johnson, Glenwood, Minn.; numerous nieces and nephews; and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and three sisters.

Arthur Heyne
Arthur Heyne, 91, Mandan, died May 22, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Charles Axness officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery, with military graveside services by Mandan American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars posts. Visitation will be from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. today at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan, where a prayer service will be held at 7 tonight. Visitation will continue at the church one hour before services. Art was born Feb. 11, 1910, at White Butte, S.D., the son of George and Elizabeth (Zimmerle) Heyne. The family moved to a farm southwest of Heil where he grew up and attended school. When Art was 17 years old, his father died leaving Art the responsibility for his mother, his siblings and operation of the farm. Art married Lorentina Zeller in November 1931. He entered the U.S. Army in 1942, and was sent overseas. He served in England, France and Germany, building and restoring railroads and bridges. After his discharge he married Helen Rennich on Sept. 14, 1945. They made their home in Mandan where Art was employed by the railroad. He was a jack of all trades and was happy to help a neighbor when they needed carpentry, plumbing or cement work done. After his retirement in 1975, he became the head funeral usher for the church and was still dedicated to this job at the time of his death. Helen died in November 1965. A kind and unassuming person, Art was an honest, sincere and hardworking man who loved his family and church very deeply. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his children, June Evinger, Myrna Ott and Arlin Heyne, all of Covina, Calif., Marlo Heyne, Anoka, Minn., and Ardella Weiand and Paulette Bentz, both of Mandan; his children by marriage, Raymond Rennich, Delores Assel and Frank Rennich, all of Mandan, and Leroy Rennich, Bridge, Ore.; 28 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; his brothers, August, Bismarck, and Eddie, Portland, Ore.; and his sister, Loretta Kamrath, Bismarck. His wives, Lorentina and Helen; his brother, Emil; and his sons by marriage, George and Kenny Rennich, preceded him in death.

Allan Hodges Sr.
GARRISON -- Allan Hodges Sr., 63, Oklahoma City, Okla., formerly of Garrison, died May 22, 2001, in Oklahoma City. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at First United Church of Christ, Garrison, with burial in Garrison Cemetery. He is survived by his children, Allan Hodges Jr., Douglas, Shannon Hodges, Memphis, Tenn., Sharon Hintz, Greeley, Colo., and Edward, Memphis; and one sister, Marian Pierce, Garrison; and four grandchildren. John Janko
KINTYRE -- John W. Janko, 87, Kintyre, died May 23, 2001, in the Steele care center. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Steele United Methodist Church, Steele, with the Rev. Rob Olson officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:30-9 tonight at Eastgate Funeral Service, and will continue at the church one hour before services. John was born Oct. 19, 1913, on the family homestead in Kidder County, the son of Wesley and Katherine (Ludvicek) Janko. He grew up and attended school in Manning Township, Kidder County. On April 22, 1945, he married Ella Morris in Kintyre. They ranched on the family homestead and he also worked as a carpenter. He retired in 1993 but remained on the farm. John liked to collect walking plows and various other farm implements and antiques. He was skilled at manufacturing his own machinery. John was an honest man. He is survived by his wife, Ella; one sister, Elbie Kylmanen, Jamestown; two brothers and one sister-in-law, William "Bill" Janko, Bismarck, and Milo and Vienna Janko, Kintyre; nine nieces and nephews; and several grand-nieces and grand-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one nephew; one brother-in-law; and one sister-in-law.

Annie Mitzel
ZEELAND -- Annie Mitzel, 87, Zeeland, died May 24, 2001, in the Ashley hospital. Arrangements are pending at Myers Funeral Home, Linton.

Linda Peltier
FORT YATES -- Linda Ann Peltier, 50, Grand Forks, died May 12, 2001, in Grand Forks. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Veterans Memorial Building, Cannon Ball, with burial in Congregational Cemetery, Cannon Ball. She is survived by six daughters, Norma, Bemidji, Minn., Michelle, Phoenix, Jolene, Clinton, Iowa, Angie, Sonja and Heidi Jo, all of Rapid City, S.D.; two sisters, Evelyn Chaske, Fort Totten, and Cody Lincoln, Bismarck; and one brother, Quentin Lincoln, Marshall, Ill. (Perry Funeral Home, Mandan)

Dwight Rau
NAPOLEON -- Dwight Rau, 84, Napoleon, died May 22, 2001, near Napoleon due to an automobile accident. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at United Methodist Church, Streeter, with the Rev. Grant Piehl officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, rural Streeter. Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. today at Haut Funeral Home, Gackle, and will continue at the church one hour before services. A prayer service will begin at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Dwight was born Dec. 25, 1916, at the family farm northeast of Napoleon, the son of Fred Rau and Magdalena (Raile) Rau. He attended the local rural school where he received his elementary education and grew to manhood in the vicinity. He and Hertha Veil were married Oct. 20, 1955, near Gackle. They made their home on the family farm northeast of Napoleon where they have farmed. Following the death of his wife on Nov. 5, 1993, he continued to reside on the farm. Since his retirement he enjoyed his family and grandchildren, running summer pasture cattle, yard work and driving around the countryside with his best friend, his Chevy pickup. He was a member of United Methodist Church in Streeter. His hobbies included flying, hunting, playing banjo, accordion and the piano. He is survived by his children, Myron, Napoleon, Lois and Kenneth Ruff, Streeter, Marjorie and Merlyn DeRider, Clovis, N.M., Norma and Nathan Hochhalter, Cleveland, and Debra Rau and Ted Schneider, Napoleon; 10 grandchildren; and one sister, Clara Weixel, Bismarck. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one son, James; three brothers and three sisters.

BEULAH -- Alvina Sailer, 90, Beulah, died May 24, 2001, in the Beulah care center. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church, Beulah. Further arrangements are pending at Seibel Funeral Home, Beulah.
