ABERDEEN, S.D. -- Paul Jung Sr., 96, Aberdeen, died July 17, 2001, in an Aberdeen hospital. Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Aberdeen, with burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen. He is survived by six daughters, Rose Nolz, Aberdeen, Alice Schumacher and Frances Weigel, both of Zeeland, Margie Nold-Lovik, Rapid City, Mary Ann Smith, Aberdeen, and Carol Amundson, Mt. Prospect, Ill.; three sons, William and Paul Jr., both of Aberdeen, and Tom, St. Paul, Minn.; 66 grandchildren; 118 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Regina Hammer, Salem, Ore. Viola Koppi
DICKINSON -- Viola Koppi, 82, Cody, Wyo., formerly of Dickinson, died July 13, 2001, in a Cody care center. Services will be held at 2 p.m. MDT Friday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dickinson, with burial in Dickinson Cemetery. She is survived by one daughter, Linda Thompson, Cody; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Jennie Dobie, Madison, Wis.; and one brother, Chester Moore, Gladstone. Kathleen M. Walton, 41, 6012 Horseshoe Bend, Mandan, died July 18, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. Arrangements are pending at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan.

John Bonnet
MCCLUSKY -- John Bonnet, 91, McClusky, died July 18, 2001, in the Turtle Lake hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church, McClusky, with burial in McClusky Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. today at Hertz Funeral Home, McClusky. John was born Dec. 27, 1909, north of Lincoln Valley. John was the son of Jacob and Rose (Krein) Bonnet. As a child John attended country school and worked at home. As a young man he farmed. John married Emma Waltz on Feb. 21, 1935, in Goodrich. They lived and farmed north of McClusky. In 1969 they retired and moved into McClusky. Emma died on Nov. 6, 1999. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, a charter member of the rural fire department and also served as Lincolndale Township supervisor. John is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Bernell and Jeanette Bonnet, McClusky; two grandchildren, Bradley and his wife, Tammy Bonnet, Bismarck, and Beverly and her husband, Kendon Faul, McClusky; five great-grandchildren, Kyle, Brian and Hope Bonnet, and Kody and Shelby Faul; ;one brother, Art Bonnet and his special friend, Katherine Bauer, Lodi, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Emma; an infant son, Arlie; one sister, Martha Waltz; and four brothers, Melcher, Jacob, Edward and Reinhold.

Elsie Ebbert
FESSENDEN -- Elsie Ebbert, 94, Bismarck, formerly of Fessenden, died July 19, 2001, in the New Rockford care center. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church, Fessenden. Further arrangements are pending at Nelson Funeral Home, Fessenden.

Ernest Hunter
Ernest Hunter, 70, 516 N. 14th St., died July 18, 2001, in his home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Boelter Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck. Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. today at Boelter Funeral Home. Ernie was born Dec. 30, 1930, at Lemmon, S.D. He moved to North Dakota in 1957. Ernie worked for Wachter's Inc. for 38 years. He started in 1958 and retired in 1996. He then worked part-time for Don's Electric and also part-time for the Bismarck Civic Center. He married Rose Jamgochian in 1958, and they had two children, Cindy and Dean. He is survived by his wife, Rose; one daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Duane Ensz, Lincoln; two grandchildren, Christine and Brad; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Lenor and Howard Stewart, Wilton, LaDonna and Jerry Kelly, Florida, Sheila and Harold Clark, Colorado, and Ravonna Van Lear, Nebraska; and one brother and sister-in-law, Butch and Brenda Sammons, Mandan. Ernie was preceded in death by his parents; and one son, Dean.

Cecelia Koppy
Cecelia M. Koppy, 93, Mandan, died July 19, 2001, in the Mandan care center. Arrangements are pending at Bismarck Funeral Home.

Ellen Lynn
WILLISTON -- Ellen Lynn, 70, Williston, died July 19, 2001, in her home after a long battle with cancer. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church, Williston. Further arrangements are pending at Everson Funeral Home, Williston.

Carol Sue McKissack
MCLAUGHLIN, S.D. -- Carol Sue McKissack, 47, McLaughlin, died July 19, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. At Carol's request, a private family service has been held. Carol was born Dec. 23, 1954, in Phoenix, to William and Nettie (Johnson) McKissack. She graduated from Southwest High School in Fort Worth, Texas. Continuing her education in 1977, she graduated from Texas Women's University with degrees in biology and psychology. Carol taught biology at McLaughlin High School and served in an administrative position at Sitting Bull College in Fort Yates. She was active in the South Dakota Jaycee Women, serving in many leader positions, including president. Due to her failing health, Carol was forced to retire. She will always be remembered for her great sense of humor and storytelling ability. Carol is survived by her mother, Nettie McKissack, Fort Worth; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sandra and Randy Donahoo, Longmont, Colo., and Lynda and Jeff Ault, Weatherford, Texas; her niece, Christi Hoel and her husband, Stephen, and her grand-nephew, Camden, all of Longmont, Colo.; her close friends, Beth Flagstadt, Pierre, S.D., and Kathy Kuzior, McLaughlin; and numerous other special friends. She was preceded in death by her father, William McKissack. In memory of Carol, memorials are preferred to American Diabetes Association, National MS Society, American Heart Association, or the donor's choice. (Bismarck Funeral Home)

HARVEY -- Gladys Putz, 85, Harvey, died July 19, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Martin Baptist Church, Martin. Further arrangements are pending at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey.

Anton Weninger
DRAKE -- Anton Weninger, 87, Drake, died July 18, 2001, in the Rugby hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Drake. Further arrangements are pending at Bethke-Nelson Funeral Home, Drake.

Frances Anderson
Frances H. Anderson, 77, Bismarck, died July 19, 2001, in a local hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at McCabe United Methodist Church, Bismarck. Further arrangements are pending with Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck.

Helen Bohem
Helen Bohem, 88, Bismarck, died July 19, 2001, in a local care center. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Church of St. Anne, Bismarck, with the Rev. Edwin Wehner officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, where a vigil rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday evening. Helen Day Brigl was born Oct. 15, 1912, in New York City. At the age of three Helen traveled to North Dakota by way of the Orphan Train, and was adopted by John and Margaret (Goertel) Brigl. She was raised and educated in St. Anthony. At the age of 13 Helen began working at St. Alexius Hospital and also did housekeeping until her marriage. She married Michael A. Boehm on June 23, 1933, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Mandan. Helen worked for the Bismarck American Legion Club as a cook. She moved to Atlanta, Ga., and during the 70s and 80s was a cook at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish for the priests and monseigneur. In her later years she moved back to Bismarck to be closer to her family. Helen's greatest enjoyment was cooking and she loved spending time with her family. She is survived by four daughters and two sons-in-law, Violet Stamaris, Santee, Calif., Gloria and Lonnie Chadwick and Gladys and Jim Stamaris, all of Bismarck, and Lucille Boehm, Atlanta, Ga.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Beverly Boehm, Bismarck, and Greg and Alice Boehm, El Cajon, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Alfred Steidl and Veronica and Robert Schlegel, all of Fingal; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; an infant son; one brother, Fred; one sister, Teresa; and one son-in-law, John Stamaris.

Mildred Dahl
WATFORD CITY -- Mildred Dahl, 85, Watford City, formerly of Keene, died July 20, 2001, in the Watford City hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church, Keene. Further arrangements are pending with Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City.

Elsie Dockter
TURTLE LAKE -- Elsie M. Dockter, 84, Turtle Lake, died July 20, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Turtle Lake, with the Rev. Wilfred Hanson officiating. Burial will be in the city cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Goetz Funeral Home, Turtle Lake. Elsie M. Schimke was born May 11, 1917, at Byersville Township, McLean County, to John and Magdalena (Kleingartner) Schimke. She attended rural school at Byersville Township. Elsie married Johnny Dockter on Oct. 13, 1940, at Emanuel Lutheran Church near Butte. The couple farmed north of McClusky for a number of years before moving to their farm north of Mercer in 1946. They retired in 1976 after 35 years of farming and moved to Turtle Lake. Elsie enjoyed gardening, bowling, making crafts and putting together jigsaw puzzles. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was proud of her diary, which she updated for nearly 50 years. Elsie was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Turtle Lake, where she was active in many church organizations. She was also active with her bowling league, the Turtle Lake Hospital Auxiliary and the Birthday Club. She is survived by her husband, Johnny; three daughters, JoAnn Freborg, Minot, Janice (Erwin) Geigle, Bismarck, and Joyce (Dennis) Fiedler, Mercer; one son, Gene (Euni) Dockter, Mercer; seven grandchildren, Chad and Barry Fiedler, Jonathan and Kimberly Dockter and Maria, Julia and Solomon Geigle; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Hilbert, Otto and Edward Schimke; one sister, Ida Krause; and one son-in-law, Glenn Freborg.

Elsie Ebbert
Elsie Ebbert, 94, Bismarck, formerly of Fessenden, died July 19, 2001, in a New Rockford care center. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church, Fessenden. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Fessenden. She is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. (Nelson Funeral Home, Fessenden)

Raymond Gleave
TIOGA -- Raymond Gleave, 90, Tioga, died July 20, 2001, in a Tioga care center. Arrangements are pending with Fulkerson Funeral Home, Tioga.

Evelyn Haider
MINOT -- Evelyn Theresa Haider, 78, 208 22nd St. N.W., Minot, died July 17, 2001, in a Minot nursing home. Services were held July 20 at St. John the Apostle Church, Minot. Burial was in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Foxholm. Evelyn was born Jan. 18, 1923, at Foxholm, the daughter of Aloys and Ella (Hoerter) Miller. She was raised in Foxholm and graduated from Foxholm High School. Evelyn married Leonard Haider on Feb. 24, 1943, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Foxholm. The couple lived in Texas for two years while Leonard was stationed in the U.S. Army. Evelyn moved back to Foxholm when Leonard was sent overseas. In 1947, the couple moved to Williston, where Leonard worked for Minot Supply Co. In 1957, her husband was transferred to Minot where Evelyn worked for Miracle Mart, managing the lunch counter and bakery. Leonard died in 1982. Evelyn was a charter member of St. John's Catholic Church, Minot, and was a past president of the Ladies Confraternity of Christian Mothers. She was also a member of Elks, American Legion Auxiliary and Knights of Columbus, all of Minot. Evelyn was an avid Atlanta Braves baseball fan and loved watching her husband and children play softball. She enjoyed playing cards, cooking, baking and gardening. She loved her family and especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her mother, Ella Miller, Foxholm; sons and daughters-in-law, James and Linda, Minot, Sam and Sheri, Minot, Donnie, Cumming, Ga., and Tom and Paula, Bismarck; daughters and sons-in-law, Renee and Greg Ulberg, Bismarck, and Patty and Roger Erickson, Minot; her grandchildren, Tom Haider, Denver, Brian Ulberg, Tim Ulberg and his wife, Melissa, Bismarck, Melissa Haider, Roswell, Ga., Joe and his companion, Jennie Schroeder, Jim, Sammantha, Sallie Haider, all of Minot, Brett and Courtney Haider, both of Bismarck, and Kristin Erickson, Minot; one great-grandchild, Parker Haider; her brothers, Francis Miller, Burlington, Alvin Miller, Foxholm; and her sisters and brother-in-law, Connie Stammen, Minot, and Myrna and Ray Messer, Derby, Kan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; her father, Aloys; and two brothers, Ralph and Harry Miller.
