Burial will be in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Loretta; six children, Richard Zwinger, Windsor, Calif., Tom Zwinger, Arroyo Grande, Calif., Carol Weber, Eden Prairie, Minn., Joan Brown, Mandan, Jeanette Selleck, Houston, Texas, and Rita Zwinger, Bismarck; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Anne Balvitsch, Carrington; one stepbrother, Leo Laber, Sykeston; and one stepsister, Beatrice Schelling, Jamestown. Esther Bartram
WILLISTON -- Esther Bartram, 86, Williston, died March 19, 2000 in a Williston nursing home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at Church of the Nazarene, with burial in Rawson Cemetery. She is survived by her three sons, Clarence Vernon, Minot, Hubert, Williston, and Gary, Penn; her daughter, Elaine Knudson, Apache Junction, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Ezra Nathanial Burchinal
Ezra Nathanial Burchinal, 19, Bismarck, died March 20, 2000 in a local hospital. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, at Zion Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Revs. Les Wolfgram and Todd Smelser officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. today, 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Thursday and 9-11 a.m. Friday, all at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, and will continue one hour prior to the services at the church. Ezra Nathanial Burchinal was born Oct. 18, 1980 in Bismarck, the son of Michael and Gay Ann (Haadem) Burchinal. He was raised in Bismarck until the third grade, when he moved to Dickinson with his family. He attended school in Dickinson and in September of 1999 he returned to Bismarck. He was currently working at Helm Siding and Window. He loved riding motorcycles, working on his car and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his mother, Gay Ann Haadem, Bismarck; his father, Michael Burchinal, Dickinson; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Uriah Burchinal, Bismarck, and Joshua and Brandi Burchinal, Fort Irwin, Calif.; his grandparents, Carrol and Darlene Burchinal, Bismarck, and Gladys Haadem, Tappen; his aunts and uncles, Brad and Pam Burchinal, Lisa and Hilary Wald, LeToya Whitelightning Burchinal, ElRoy and Carol Haadem, all of Bismarck, Tilman and Judy Haadem, Tappen, and Mona Kay Haadem, McGregory; great aunt and uncle, Ron and Ginger Baird, Houston, Texas; great aunt, Junes Englerth, Park River; many cousins and his special friend, his dog, Ace. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Roy Haadem and a cousin Trent Haadem. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. (Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck)

Harold Duane Chadwick
WATFORD CITY -- Harold Duane Chadwick, 47, Watford City, died March 18, 2000 in a Rochester, Minn., hospital of leukemia. Services will be held at 10 a.m. today, at Watford City High School with the Rev. Adrian Timmons officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, at North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the school today. Harold Chadwickwas born April 8, 1952 at Bismarck, the son of Charles and Adeline (Fraase) Chadwick. He graduated from Glenburn High School in 1970. On Dec. 19, 1970, he was united in marriage with Sandra Kingsley at Glenburn. He served in the U.S. Army from 1972 until 1974 at Homestead Air Force Base in Florida. He attended Interstate Business College in Fargo. The family moved to Keene in 1978, when Harold worked for his father's welding business. In 1980, Harold and his brother-in-law, Bryan Kingsley purchased the welding business. Harold sold the business in December of 1996. He attended business courses in New Town and was the bookkeeper for OK Implement in Watford City and Mandaree Enterprises in Mandaree prior to his death. Harold was diagnosed with leukemia on Jan. 19, 2000 and was in the Methodist Hospital, Rochester, Minn. He attended Johnson Corners Wesleyan Church and was a member of the Carl E. Rogen American Legion Post in Watford City. He enjoyed golfing, snow skiing, attending his children's school events, and was a die-hard Minnesota Vikings fan. He is survived by his wife, Sandie, Watford City; one son, Erik Chadwick, Mayville State College; two daughters, Tarri Jo Chapin and her daughter, Shelby, Ruthville, and Crystal Houser and her sons, Dameon and Demrick, Watford City; his mother, Adeline Chadwick, Fargo; and two brothers, Rhinney and his wife, JoAnne, and Charlie and his wife, Pat, all of Fargo. He was preceded in death by his father.

Hilda E. Dafoe
SHEYENNE -- Hilda E. Dafoe, 99, Sheyenne, died March 19, 2000 in the Devils Lake hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, at Grace Lutheran Church, Sheyenne. Burial will be in Nystrom Cemetery, rural New Rockford. She is survived by nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and one stepson, Arthur Dafoe, Valley City. NEW ENGLAND -- Marcus F. Dobitz, 5 year-old son of Peter and Joyce Dobitz, New England, died March 21, 2000 in the Dickinson hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. MST Friday, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, New England. Further arrangements are pending with Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson.

RICHARDTON Ð Bernice F. Goetz, 65, RIchardton, died March 20, 2000 in the Dickinson hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MST Thursday, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Richardton, with burial in the church cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Victor; five daughters, Linda Keeler, Dickinson, Vicki Krandall, Rock Springs, Wyo., Janice Martin, Mandan, Donna Arnold, Richardton, and Glenda Schatz, Dickinson; three sons, Rich, Gillette, Wyo., Ron, Gilbert, Ariz., and Kelly, Richardton; her mother, Magdelene Hamann, Dickinson; two brothers, Marvin Hamann, Bismarck, and Merle Hamann, Richardton; two sisters, Beatrice Portscheller, Dickinson, and Bonnie Demaniow, Park City, Mont.; and 16 grandchildren. Hertha Olga Grosz
ASHLEY -- Hertha Olga Grosz, 83, Ashley, died March 19, 2000 in the Ashley hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, at Zion Lutheran Church, Ashley, with burial in the church cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Edward; two sons, Richard, Yankton, S.D., and Duane, Rochester, Minn.; four brothers, Richard Weisser, Camano Island, Wash., Oswald Weisser, Ashley, Walter Weisser, Aberdeen, S.D., and Wilbur Weisser, Grand Forks; six sisters, Leota Stading, Apple Valley, Minn., Lorraine Dockter and Anna Walker, both of Ashley, Eleanore Sackmann, Carson City, Nev., Mavis Gall, Fargo, and Lillian Dobler, Bismarck; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Frederick "Fritz" Harm
Frederick "Fritz" Harm, 84, Mandan, died March 19, 2000, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Albert Leary officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery, with military rites by Mandan Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 707 and Mandan American Legion Post 40. Visitation will continue from 9 a.m. to noon today at the funeral home. Frederick "Fritz" Harm, the son of Louis and Margaret (Wetsch) Harm, was born Aug. 4, 1915, in Solen, where he was raised and educated. Fred served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1942 to 1945. He served with the military police and was stationed in Central Europe and Normandy. He received the Purple Heart and many other medals. Fred returned to Mandan, and on Jan. 24, 1946, he was united in marriage to Madeline Ferderer in Mandan. Fred was a route salesman for Cloverdale for 32 years. He retired in 1980 and began working for Morton County Weed Board. He was a member of Elks, a past president of Eagles and was active in the Boy Scouts, where he served as a Scout master. Fred is survived by four sons and two daughters-in-law, Harvey, Larry and Judy, and Jack and Lindy, all of Mandan, and Ronald, Bismarck; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Rose Rogers and Edith Ferderer and two brothers-in-law, Carl and Jack Ferderer. Fred was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Maggie, who died June 18, 1993; three brothers, August, Mike and Bill; and one sister, Margaret. A special thanks to Gladys Martin and family for the loving care given these past several months and Dolly VanderVorste for her past help, and special friends, Kenny Berger and Elsie Nelson. Preston Jensen
MEDORA -- Preston Jensen, 17, Medora, died March 20, 2000 in Medora. Services will be held at 2 p.m. CST at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, McHenry, with the Rev. Jack Carlson officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery, McHenry. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. MST today at Medora Riding Stables with the Rev. Jerry Erikson officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-9 p.m. MST today at Mischel-Olson Chapel, Dickinson. Special music will be provided by soloist, Jil Baird and organist, Patti Peterson. Pallbearers will be John Hild, Ty Jonas, Erik Peterson, Neil Galster, Doug Walker and Lyle Glass. Preston, the son of Douglas and Marjorie (Becherl) Jensen, was born July 8, 1982 in Dickinson. He was raised and educated in Medora. Preston enjoyed playing basketball, horseback riding and driving his pickup. During his summers, he worked for the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation at the Medora Riding Stables, assisted with Calvary Colors, and the Medora Musical. He is survived by his parents, Douglas and Marjorie Jensen, Medora; his paternal grandparents, Obert and Ardeth Jensen, Hamar; his aunts and uncles, David (Linda) Jensen, Bismarck, Arlene Jensen, Williamsburg, Va., Rae "Charlie" (Bill) Birrenkott, Jamestown, Lyla (Rodney) Anderson, Spring Valley, Ill., Peggy (David) Trosen, Larimore; and Peter (Louise) Becherl, McHenry; his cousins, Cammie, Crystal, Anita, Brian, Keith, Michael, Scott, Heidi, David and Tyler. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Theodore and Burnice Becherl. (Mischel-Olson Chapel, Dickinson)

Jim Lachenmeier, 56, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died March 12, 2000 at his home. Services were held on March 14, 2000 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Newhall, Iowa. Burial was in St. Patrick's and St. Paul's Cemetery, near Watkins, Iowa. He is survived by three daughters, Denise Moeller, Newhall, Wanda Gordon, Atkins, and Debbie Cecak, Amana, Iowa; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Herbert, Velva, Charles, Arlington, Wash., and Gerald, Bismarck; five sisters, Leona Reasor, Cedar Rapids, Margie Braun, Seattle, Iowa, Ruby Gienger, Kathleen Lachenmeier and Caroline Marchus, all of Bismarck; four half-brothers, Willie, Napoleon, August, Hardin, Mont., John, Cleveland, and Art, Tappen; and three half-sisters, Verna Schnabel, Arbuckle, Calif., and Edna Bender and Ella Guthmiller, both of Jamestown.

Agatha Rose Redshirt
Agatha Rose Redshirt, 65, 115 West Bismarck Expressway, Bismarck, died March 19, 2000 in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, at St. George's Episcopal Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Michael Horn officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck. Visitation begins from 1-5 p.m. Thursday, at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, and continues Friday from 9 a.m.-noon at Weigel Funeral Home. Agatha Rose Redshirt was born May 16, 1934 at Pine Ridge, S.D., the daughter of Wallace and Francis (Martin) Redshirt. Agatha was raised and educated in South Dakota. In 1971, Agatha and her family moved to Bismarck where she attended school at United Tribes Educational Center. Agatha worked hard all her life to support her family. She worked for Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center as a nurses' assistant for three years and at United Tribes for 12 years. Agatha is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Ted (Deb), and Leonard, all of Denver, Colo.; three daughters, Margaret Redshirt and Mary Redshirt, both of Bismarck, and Micky Lynn Redshirt, Dallas, Texas; 11 grandchildren, Tedilynn, Cody, Karmen, Jeremy, Erin, Nicole, Jared, Aaron, Stephani, Brock, Crystal Gayle, and one great-grandson, Garydean; three sisters, Margaret Tyon and Bess Matthews, both of Denver, and Grace Redshirt, Hot Springs, S.D.; and a special friend, Albert Dennis Wilkie and many other good friends and family. She will be greatly missed by all. May her smile and laughter live on in everyone's heart. She is preceded in death by her parents, one son, Gary; three brothers and one sister.
