Gregory Voiles, 45, Bismarck, died July 15, 2001, in Bismarck. Arrangements are pending with Bismarck Funeral Home.

John Windish
VALLEY CITY -- John Windish, 68, Valley City, died July 15, 2001, in the Valley City hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Valley City, with the Rev. Gerard Braun officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 to 5:30 p.m. today at Peterson-Johnson-Schuldt Funeral Home, Valley City, and will continue for one hour at the church, where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m today. Visitation will also continue for one hour prior to services at the church Wednesday. John Paul Windish was born July 17, 1932, at Fingal, the son of John and Gisela (Huber) Windish. John grew up and attended school at Fingal, where he graduated from high school. John started with the Barnes County Highway Department in 1948. In 1951 he entered the United States Air Force and served until 1955. After being discharged he returned to Fingal and started again with the Barnes County Highway Department. John married Karen Stiles on Aug. 8, 1956, in Valley City. The couple continued to make their home at Fingal. Karen died in May 1980. John married Charlene Williams Davis on July 19, 1986, in Valley City, where the couple made their home. John retired from the highway department in 1998. He then went to work for the engineering firm of Kadrmas, Lee and Jackson of Valley City and worked until November 2000. John was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2764, American Legion, Valley City Eagles, North Dakota Association of County Engineers, National Association of County Engineers, Fingal City Council for 25 years and Fingal School Board. He is survived by his wife, Charlene; his children, Ann (Steve) Williams, Paula (Greg) Spenningsby, Beth (Bruce) Kubista, Kevin (Candace) Windish, Mark "Ozzie" Windish and Kate Windish, all of Jamestown, John Steven (Tamara) Windish, Bismarck, and Pat (Tammy) Windish, Wimbledon; his stepdaughters, Dawn Davis, Fargo, Aleta (Ryan) Davis-Johnson, Villard, Minn., and Amy (Chad) Koller, Fargo; 15 grandchildren; and two sisters, Liz (Don) Johnson, Fingal, and Rose Siskus, Chicago, Ill. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Karen; his parents; one brother; and two sisters.

Rosalia Benz
HAZEN -- Rosalia Benz, 83, Hazen, died March 2, 2000 in the Glen Ullin care center. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MST Monday, at Peace Lutheran Church, Hazen, with the Revs. Duane Hanson and Walt Wolff officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, north of Hazen. Visitation hours will be held on Sunday from 3-8 p.m. MST at Seibel Funeral Home, Hazen. Rosalia Benz was born Oct. 15, 1916 near Hazen, a daughter of Mathias and Rosina (Morast) Benz. She was raised and educated north of Hazen and worked for various neighbors as a young lady. In the late 1940's, she began working for the Hazen Memorial Hospital, doing various jobs, eventually working as an assistant in the operating room. Rose enjoyed traveling, gardening, quilting and needlework. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Hazen.
She is survived by four sisters, Lydia Hilz, Garrison, Martha Reich, Hazen, Pauline Koehler, Hazen, and Lea and Helmuth Pfennig, Beulah; two brothers, Erhard Benz, Hazen, and Julius Benz, Bismarck; one sister-in-law, Emma Benz, Beulah; and numerous nieces and nephews. Rose was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Herbert, Friedebert and Henry; three brothers-in-law, Gottlieb Hilz, Emil Reich and Otto Koehler; and one sister-in-law, Hilda Benz. Waldemar Bohrer
Waldemar "Wally" Bohrer, 83, died March 2, 2000 in a local hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, at Bethel Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Tim A. Jenks officiating.
Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. Sunday, 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday, and 9 a.m.-noon Tuesday, all at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday afternoon.
Waldemar Bohrer was born Dec. 10, 1916, the son of Tobias and Margaret Bohrer in Mannhaven. He was raised and educated there and moved to Bismarck in 1935. Wally worked at Wachter Transfer for a number of years before moving to Fargo, where he was employed by Schultz and Lindsey Construction Company. Because of an industrial accident in 1949, he retired and moved back to Bismarck.
Wally is survived by four daughters, Joanne Senechal, Waconia, Minn., Valene Anderson, Finley, Sandy Opatril, Dilworth, Minn., and Jackie Perkins, Mora, Minn.; one sister, Hattie Tellinghusen, Bismarck; two brothers, Vernon Bohrer, Napoleon, and Wilbur "Bill" Bohrer, Dickinson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tobias and Margaret Bohrer; and three brothers, Ottmar Bohrer, Byron Bohrer and Wesley Bohrer. (Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck)

Cecelia Dworshak
Cecelia Dworshak, 72, 107 E. Bowen Ave., Bismarck, died March 3, 2000 in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, at Spirit of Life Catholic Church, Mandan, with the Revs. Cyprian Meier and John Kuhn officiating. Burial will be in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday, at Weigel Funeral Home, where a parish vigil will be said at 7:30 p.m. Sunday evening. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
Cecelia was born on Nov. 18, 1927 on a farm in St. Anthony, the daughter of Adam D. and Agnes (Hoffman) Bender. On Jan. 25, 1946, she married Joseph Dworshak in Bismarck. They moved to Mandan in July of 1988.
She is survived by six sons and five daughters-in-law, Richard and Marge, Kansas City, Mo., Jerome and Colene, Omaha, Neb., Terry and Rita, Washburn, Joe Jr. and Linda, LaCrosse, Wis., David, Bismarck, and Jeff and Michelle, Sierra Vista, Ariz.; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Sandra Svihla, St. Anthony, Cindy and Pete Deichert, Bismarck, JoAnn and Rick Schmaltz, Bismarck, and Beverly and Rich Hausauer, Bismarck; 28 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Joseph, Edward and Frank, all of Salem, Ore.; three sisters, Annie Kuntz, St. Anthony, Helen Leingang, Mandan, and Josephine Pack, Wyoming. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, who died Feb. 4, 1994; her parents; one daughter, Jeanette; two grandsons, Dan and Ryan; one son-in-law, Ervin Svihla; and one brother, Fred. Carroll Evanson
ARNEGARD -- Carroll J. "Kelly" Evanson, 80, Arnegard, died March 3, 2000 in the Watford City hospital. Arrangements are pending with Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City.

Catherine Fitzgerald
WING -- Catherine J. Fitzgerald, 90, Wing, died March 2, 2000 in Jamestown. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Wing. Further arrangements are pending with Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck.

Ann Hintz
ELGIN -- Ann Hintz, 94, Elgin, died March 1, 2000 in the Elgin care center. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. MST Monday, at Ebenezer United Church of Christ, north of Elgin, with burial in the church cemetery.
She is survived by three sons, James, San Jose, Calif., DuWayne, Portage, Ind., and Stanley, Wilton; three daughters, Donna Wiens, Elgin, JoAnn Schmidt, Elgin, and Ruth Rexroth, Rocklin, Calif.; and 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. (Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home, Elgin)

Pearl Lundberg
Pearl Lundberg, 88, Bismarck, and formerly of Washburn, died March 3, 2000 in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, at Birka Lutheran Church, rural Washburn. Further arrangements are pending with Goetz Funeral Home, Washburn.

Myrtle Manz
MCHENRY -- Myrtle Manz, 82, McHenry, died March 3, 2000 in a Lakota care center. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, McHenry. Further arrangements are pending with Evans Funeral Home, New Rockford.

Pauline Myton
GLEN ULLIN -- Pauline A. Myton, 82, Glen Ullin, died March 2, 2000 in Glen Ullin. No local services will be held. Encryptment will be held at a later date in Newberg, Ore.
Pauline was born on Jan. 17, 1918 at Baldwin, the daughter of Carl and Lydia (Brenneise) Spitzer. She was raised and educated in rural Baldwin. Following her education years, she did housekeeping until 1941 when she moved to Bismarck and began working for the Vita Bakery. Following the War, she married Norris Gallea and moved to Billings and opened a bakery.
Following the death of her first husband, she married Mike Myton. They operated the bakery for some time until they moved to Newberg, Ore. and but a nut farm. After the death of Mike, Pauline was involved in several other business ventures. She retired in Hardin, Mont. Due to declining health, she moved to the Marian Manor Healthcare Center in Glen Ullin where she has resided since.
She is survived by one sister, Minda Weaver, Jamestown; and local survivors include a nephew, Jim Spitzer, Hebron.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; four sisters and five brothers. (Spangelo Funeral Home, Glen Ullin)

Chester Nordberg
Chester H. Nordberg, 91, Cheyenne, Wyo., died Feb. 22, 2000 in a Cheyenne care center.
Mr. Nordberg was born Nov. 28, 1908, in Newburg, and had lived in Cheyenne since June 1999 with prior residence in Powell, Wyo.; Bend, Ore.; and Bottineau and Bismarck.
He attended school in Newburg, the Bottineau of School of Forestry, and Minot State Teacher's College.
Mr. Nordberg worked for International Harvester for 37 years. When he retired in 1969, he was district credit manager in Milwaukee, Wis. He also worked in Springfield, Ill., and Madison and Mauston, Wis.
He is survived by his wife, Anne Nordberg, whom he married on July 16, 1935 in Minot; a son, Paul, Denver; a daughter, Judtih Darr, Denver; one sister, Doris Schreiner, Colorado Springs, Colo.; two grandsons; one niece and several nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Minnie Nordberg; three brothers, Vernon, Wallace and Ralph Nordberg; and a sister, Pauline Nordberg.
During Mr. Nordberg's residence in Bismarck, he was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Memorial services were held on Feb. 26 at Ascension Lutheran Church in Cheyenne, with the Rev. Duane Ferchen officiating.

Theodore Ochsner
TUTTLE -- Theodore C. Ochsner, 76, Tuttle, died March 2, 2000 at home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, at English Lutheran Church, Tuttle, with the Rev. Allen Wagner officiating. Burial will be in Tuttle Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. today, at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, and from 1-7 p.m. Sunday, at Eastgate Funeral Chapel, Steele.
Teddy was born Feb. 19, 1924 at Arena, the son of Henry and Katherina (Morhardt) Ochsner. He attended grade school at Arena and high school at Tuttle, where he graduated in 1943. Teddy participated in basketball and football in high school and played baseball in the summer.
Following high school, he entered the Navy, where he served aboard a ship in the Pacific Ocean. He received an honorable discharge in the fall of 1945, shortly after losing two brothers (Rueben and Leon) in the war. Teddy returned to Tuttle, working various jobs until 1947 when he became Postal Clerk at the Tuttle Post Office. He drove school bus in the late 50's and early 60's. He also refereed basketball games during this time.
Teddy married Bertha Heidt on June 27, 1948, at Zion Langedahl Lutheran Church in rural Tuttle. Teddy became Postmaster in Tuttle in 1965 and then the rural mail carrier in 1970. He retired from the Postal Service in 1980 with 35 years of service to the government.
Teddy had a passion for baseball. He played the game as a youngster and as an adult with the Tuttle amateur team. He coached Little League and was a member of the W-T-R Legion Baseball Board of Directors for many years. He also dedicated many hours making sure the ball diamond was ready for the next game or tournament.
In addition to baseball, Teddy enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, horse shoes, pool, following Class B basketball and watching boxing on TV. He especially enjoyed children and loved when the grandchildren came to visit.
Teddy was an active member of English Lutheran Church at Tuttle. He was a life member of the VFW, a member of the Tuttle Lions Club, Wing American Legion, Tuttle Wildlife Club and Tuttle Senior Citizens. He also served as the sexton of the Tuttle Cemetery for many years up to the present time.
Teddy served the National Weather Service for 44 years from 1951-1995. He was awarded the John Companius Holm Award by the National Weather Service for outstanding service to his community and the National Weather Service in observing and reporting daily weather observations in the Tuttle area.
Teddy is survived by his wife, Bertha; two sons and daughters-in-law, Myron and Gloria Ochsner, Minot, and Kurt and Lisa Ochsner, Steele; three daughters and sons-in-law, Theo and Burdell Johnson, Tuttle, Sherolyn and Gary Hetletved, Robinson, and Lori and Robin Stark, Hastings, Minn.; 19 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Craig; his parents, Henry and Katherina; his brothers, Arthur, Edward, William, Emil, Rueben, Leon and Richard; and his sisters, Edna Dockter, Lydia Weisenburger, Amelia Whitehead and Albena Donham. (Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck)

Rose Vetter
Rose Vetter, 83, St. Vincent's Care Center, Bismarck, died March 3, 2000 at the care center. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, at St. Vincent's Care Center, with the Rev. Leonard Eckroth officiating.
Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. Sunday, at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, and for one hour prior to the service at the care center. A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Sunday at Eastgate Funeral Service.
Rose was born May 30, 1916 in Emmons County, the daughter of Anton and Elizabeth (Miller) Vetter. She lived on the family farm until the mid 1940's, when she moved with her family to Linton. In 1956, she moved to Bismarck with her father and on Aug. 17, 1963, she entered St. Vincent's Care Center.
She is survived by one brother-in-law, Matt Roehrich, Bismarck; one sister-in-law, Eva Vetter, Linton; and 29 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Anton and Martin; and three sisters, Mary Selzer, Ann Weis and Thersia Roehrich. (Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck)
