Barbara Dahl

Barbara L. Dahl, 61, Moorhead, MN, died Saturday, October 6th, 2001 at her home.

Barbara L. Kronbeck, daughter of Everett and Gladys (Jegtvig) Kronbeck, was born on February 22, 1940 at Hawley, MN. She was raised and educated at Hawley, MN. She was united in marriage with Richard Alan Dahl on May 4, 1962 at Moorhead. They made their home in Moorhead. She worked at J C Penney in Fargo from 1986 to 1988. Her husband, Dick, died on June 18, 1988. Since October of 1988, she worked for Dayton’s (now Marshall Field’s) as a sales associate.

She is survived by: Two Daughters and A Son: Dawn Peterson (Ryan) of Battle Lake, MN, Dave Dahl of Moorhead, MN, and Daphne Dahl of Mandan, ND. Four Grandchildren. A Sister & Two Brothers: Pearl Kadrie (Don) of Watertown, MN, Bud Kronbeck (Margaret) of Westminster, CA, and Wayne Kronbeck (Cindy) of Yucaipa, CA.

Visitation: 5 to 8 PM, Tuesday, October 9th, 2001 at Hanson-Runsvold, Fargo, and for one hour before services at the church.

Funeral: 2 PM, Wednesday, October 10th at First Assembly of God Church, Fargo.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.

Doris Dalbey
May 8, 1926 - September 8, 2001

Doris Dalbey, 75, of Fargo died Saturday morning at her home.

Doris Gann was born May 8, 1926 in Guthrie, OK, and spent her formative years in Guthrie with her mother and family, or with her sister and brother-in-law in the west Texas oil country.

She married Vernon Dalbey in Guthrie, OK, on July 15, 1950, and moved to Grand Forks, where she made her home as a railroad wife and homemaker. They moved to Fargo in 1976.

Doris is preceded in death by her parents Walter and Effie (Birdsong) Gann; 2 brothers Delbert Gann and William "Lefty" Gann; and 2 sisters Irene (Ross) O’Donley and Jaree "Sue" (Louis) Padgham.

Doris is survived by her husband Vernon Dalbey; 2 sons, Richard (Cindy) Dalbey, Ft. Collins, CO and Steven (Dianne) Dalbey, Muscatine, IA; 2 daughters, Kerry Slack, Muscatine, IA and Diana (Bob) Hilber, San Diego, CA; 1 Brother, Eugene (Mary) Gann, Oklahoma City, OK; 9 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Monday from 5-7:00pm at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo

Funeral Service: Tuesday at 2:00pm at the First United Methodist Chapel, Fargo

Deborah Schatz DeConcini

Deborah M. Schatz DeConcini, 48, of Kansas City, MO, died June 18, 2001. Deborah was born the daughter of Millard and Phyllis Schatz of Bismarck, ND on Sept. 18, 1952. She attended school in Bismarck and Fargo, and graduated from Fargo North High School in 1970. She worked in the dental industry as a dental supply sales representative and later, as a dental office manager.

Deborah is survived by her parents Phyllis Schatz of Minneapolis, and Millard and Donna R. Schatz of Fargo; five brothers, Dennis (Sue) of Fergus Falls, MN, Doug (Donna) of Fargo, ND, Jeff (Gretchen) of Grand Forks, ND, Greg (Linda) of Fargo, ND, Duane (Pat) Schatz of Salem, OR, one sister, Karen McCloud of Moorhead, MN, one step-brother, Craig (Ruth) Casler of Glyndon, MN, and one step-sister, Jill (Steve) Rudolph of Fargo, ND. She also leaves 14 nieces and nephews and her very special friend, Randy Hohenfeldt of Kansas City, MO.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, June 28, 2001 at 12:00 o’clock Noon at Faith United Methodist Church, 909 19th Ave. N., Fargo, ND.

David Deich

David Paul Deich, 72, Fargo, ND, died Monday, March 19th, 2001 at Innovis Hospital, Fargo, following a twelve year struggle with myelo-fibrosis.

David Paul Deich, son of Valentine & Shirley (Louiso) Deich, was born March 15, 1929 at Burley, Idaho. He grew up and was educated in Indiana and moved to Fargo in 1961-62. He was united in marriage with Bette Morehead on October 10, 1963 at Morris, MN. He worked as the news director and anchor at KXJB 4 in Fargo for a time. He then worked as a Realtor with ASP Realty in Fargo. Most recently he worked as a financial planner with Merrill Lynch. His church family was very important to him.

He is survived by: His Wife: Bette; Daughter: Jennifer Grieve (Jeff) of Fargo; Two Grandchildren: Amanda & Andrew; Three Sisters and A Brother: Mary Isadora Forgy of Arizona, Barbara Nimroth (William) of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Carolyn Whiteside of Denver, Colorado, Robert Deich (Marianne) of Metarie, Louisiana.

He was preceded in death by: A Sister: Dorothy Bertch of Liberty, Indiana.

Visitation: One hour before services in the church.

Funeral: 11 AM, Thursday, March 22, 2001 at Knollbrook Covenant Church, Fargo, ND.

Burial: Riverside cemetery, Fargo, ND.

Edward Emerson

Edward L. Emerson, 69, of Fargo, ND, died Tuesday, December 25, 2001 at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo.

Edward was born on May 12, 1932 in Fargo, the son of Edward and Bella (Tufte) Emerson. He spent his childhood in Fargo and graduated from Central High School. After graduation Edward attended Hanson Welding & Trade where he studied to become a welder. He joined the Army Corp in 1947 and was honorably discharged in 1948. On July 3, 1950, Edward married Jean L. Hannestad in Moorhead, MN. In 1955 he re-enlisted in the service joining the United States Air Force. He was honorably discharged in 1959. Edward worked for Steiger Manufacturing until going on to work for Versatile Gear & Axle where he worked for 10 years. He worked for many area businesses until retiring in 1990.

Edward enjoyed fishing, golfing, ham radio, computers, and traveling. He was a member of the North Dakota National Guard and Pontoppidan Lutheran Church of Fargo. Edward generously donated his time to "Meals On Wheels" and drove for the Senior Ride Service of Fargo Senior Commission.

He is preceded in death by his wife Jean, parents, and a sister, Mabel Lucht.

He is survived by 2 daughters, Deborah (Robert "Omar") Johnson, and Diana (fiancée, Joshua Thomas) Emerson, both of Fargo, ND; one sister, Lillian Huseby, of Fargo, ND, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service: Friday, December 28, at 2 PM at Pontoppidan Lutheran Church, Fargo.

Visitation: Thursday, December 27, from 5-7 PM at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo.

Prayer Service: Thursday, December 27, at 7 PM at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND.

Memorial preferred to the Pontoppidan Lutheran Church Radio Fund.

Dora Engen

Theodora "Dora" Constance Engen, 87, died Friday, June 22, 2001 at Bethany Homes in Fargo.

Dora Engen was born August 22, 1913 at Brooten MN, the daughter of Theodore "Ted" and Clara (Lukkasson) Engen. She was confirmed at Norman Lutheran Church and graduated from Kindred High School in 1934. She lived on a farm near Davenport, ND until 1945 when she moved to Fargo. She moved to Bethany Homes in 1988.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, Melvin, and a sister Inger (Elmer Dreutsberg), of Valley City, ND.

She is survived by her daughter Donna (James Houseman) of Moorhead, one brother Joseph (JoAnn) Engen, Davenport, ND, three sisters, Mabel Sorbel, Bethany Homes, Esther (Vincent Kearns), Lincoln City, OR, and Doris (Larry Woznick), Lodi, CA. Four grandchildren, Barbara (Marvin Haugen) Hutchinson, MN, Jeffrey (Lori) Houseman, Dodge Center, MN, and Jason Houseman, Moorhead, MN. Seven great-grandchildren: Jacob, Peter, Brynn, Katherine Haugen, Ryan, Benjamin, and Anna Houseman. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Agnes Engess

Agnes J. Engness, 93, of Fargo, ND, died Sunday, July 29, 2001 at Innovis Hospital, Fargo.

Agnes Jeanette Akre was born December 11, 1907 in Lidgerwood, ND, the daughter of Olie and Anna (Johnson) Akre. She grew up and attended school in Lidgerwood. On October 6, 1927, Agnes married Albin E. Engness. They moved to a farmstead near Alexandria, MN. In the late 1920’s they moved to Fargo-Moorhead where they raised their family.

Albin died in 1993. Agnes lived in her home until the time of her death.

Agnes was an active member at Pontoppidan Lutheran Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband Albin.

She is survived by 3 sons, Omar J. (Gladys) of Jacksonville, FL, DuWayne L. (Vernette) of West Fargo, ND, Vernon D. Engness, 2 daughters, Karen A. (Thomas) Carney of Moorhead, MN and Aldie J. (William) Kelsven of Fargo, ND.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 PM in Pontoppidan Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND.

Visitation: Wednesday from 5-7 PM at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND.

Dean Erlandson

Dean Erickson Erlandson died at the age of 88 in Villa Maria Nursing Home on September 9, 2001. Dean was born February 17, 1913, in Hettinger, ND, to Oscar and "Minnie" Erlandson. He attended Hettinger High School, North Dakota State University and the University of Minnesota. Dean entered the U.S. Air Force in 1940, and was discharged in 1947 as Major in the USAF Intelligence Service. He married Carol Lethine in 1940. He was in the insurance business in Moline, IL. Upon the death of his father, Dean returned to Hettinger to run the Erlandson Lumber Co. and the family ranch. In 1956 he became President of the ND. Retail Lumberman’s Assoc., and a member of their National Board of Directors. In 1964, Dean and Jane Bristol Bartley of Fargo, ND were married .

Dean was active in the ND Republican Party for many years and served as chairman of the 39th District of ND. He was a delegate for ND in the 1968 Republican Convention. In the 1970 Census he served as field supervisor for Western ND. Later that year they retired from the lumber and cattle business and moved to Clearwater, FL. In 1983 they moved to Sun City, AZ. Summers were spent at their lake home on Lake Melissa, in Minnesota. Dean enjoyed an active roll in his churches in Hettinger, Clearwater and Sun City, and he was the major force behind the construction of the First Congregational Church of Hettinger.

For 25 years, Dean and Jane shared their great love of travel, visiting each state in the nation, across Canada and 800 miles south into Mexico. In addition, he loved ballroom and square dancing, entertaining in their home, and his close relationships with his wife, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Ralph (Dorothy) Erlandson, Albert Lea, MN.

Dean is survived by his wife, Jane B. Erlandson, Fargo, and three stepchildren, Elizabeth (Rusby) Seabaugh, Kalispell, MT., Mary (Donald) Bradford, Eatonton, GA., John (Janet) Bartley, Fargo, ND; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He also leaves three sisters, Blanche Lynn (Ned, deceased), Brownsville, TX., Joyce Daigler (Vince, deceased), Portland, MA., Gayle Flanders, (Elbridge), Davis, CA and a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Hunter ("Connie"), Fargo ND.

Memorial Service will be held Sunday September 16, 2001 at 2 PM at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo.

Angeline Evenson
July 11, 1931 - July 21, 2001

Angeline Francis Evenson, age 70, of Fargo, died Friday morning in MeritCare Hospital.

Angie was born July 11, 1931 in Washburn, ND the daughter of John and Hattie J. (Hartle) Meyers. Angie grew up and attended various schools in the Washburn area. On October 1, 1955 she married Charles L. Evenson in Fargo, ND. Angie worked from 1954 to 1956 at St. John’s Hospital before moving to Kindred, ND. In 1959 her family moved back to Fargo and Angie later became a child care provider in her home for over 15 years.

Preceding Angie in death are here husband, Charles, and a sister, Betty Amundson.

Angie is survived by a son, Monte (Kimberly) Evenson, Fargo; three grandchildren, Scott, Hope, and Nicole; two brothers, William (Madeline) Meyers, and George (Burna) Meyers; five sisters, Mary Shull, Bertha (Tim) Tobias, Gladys Bellerand, Eldora Brooks, Beverly (Julian) Lizakowski; and many nieces and nephews.

Services for Angie will be held on Tuesday, July 31 at 1 PM in Messiah Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND. Her visitation will be held on Monday from 5 to 7 PM in Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Kindred City cemetery, Kindred, ND.

Artur Ewert

Artur O. Ewert, 90, of Fargo, ND, died Tuesday, August 14, 2001 at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo.

Artur was born January 11, 1911 in Poland, the son of Adolf and Johanna (Ziegler) Ewert. He attended school and received his Medical Degree in Poland. On November 29, 1941, Artur married Luise V. Weber in Lodz, Poland. In 1956 they immigrated to the United States. He was a physician in Beulah, ND for 20 years. After retirement in 1980 they moved to Washington, and then back to Fargo in 1996.

He is preceded in death by his wife Luise.

He is survived by, one son, Gerd Ewert of Pensacola, FL, 4 daughters, Ingrid (Harold) Carpenter, of Cottage Grove, MN, Heidi (Maurice) Borud, of Horace, ND, Karin (John) Richter, of Hazen, ND, Angelika (Robert) Bauste, of Grand Forks, ND, 11 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services: 2 PM, Saturday, August 18, 2001 at Community Baptist Church, Fargo.

Visitation: One hour before services at the church.

Burial: Riverside cemetery, Fargo, ND
