Anna Conlon
Anna Conlon, 91, Dickinson, N.D., died Thursday, July 26, 2001, at St. Luke's Home, Dickinson.
Anna Krein was born March 29, 1910, at Antelope, N.D., the daughter of Jacob and Sophia (Wiege) Krein. She grew up and went to school in the Antelope area. She helped other farm families with housekeeping and caring for their children. She married Frank J. Conlon on May 19, 1943, at Wibaux, Mont. They lived in Missoula, Mont., for two years before purchasing a farm in the Antelope area. They farmed there until they retired in 1976. They moved into Dickinson in 1981. He died on Jan. 26, 1986. She entered St. Luke's Home in April 1991. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting, doing crossword puzzles, cooking and baking.
She is survived by two daughters, Judy Johnk, Minot, and Patti Conlon, Dickinson; a son, Frank P. (Dianne), Jamestown; a sister, Adeline Creviston, Dickinson; a brother, Emil, Richardton, N.D.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two brothers, Henry and Ted; several infant siblings; and a son-in-law, Charles Johnk.
Services: 10:30 a.m. July 30, Hillside Baptist Church, Dickinson, with the Rev. Jon Cooke officiating. Arrangements by Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson.
Burial: Dickinson Cemetery, Dickinson.

Donald Olson
Donald Milton Olson, 72, LaMoure, N.D., died July 27, 2001, at his home.
Mr. Olson was born May 15, 1929, at the family farm in Gladstone Township near LaMoure, the son of Mike and Elvira (Aune) Olson. He grew up and attended country school there. He completed the eighth grade and lived on the family farm until he entered the military in 1951. He served during the Korean conflict, was wounded and spent many months in an Army hospital before being medically discharged. He received a Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge, Korean Medal of Bravery and three Battle stars for his service duty. He married Bernice Kennedy on July 3, 1952, at LaMoure. They lived in LaMoure, where he worked at LaMoure Auto and Implement, Farmers Union Cenex and as LaMoure County veterans service officer. He was a member of Zoar Lutheran Church and the LaMoure Fire Department for 20 years, and served on the Lake LaMoure Board. He enjoyed woodworking, golfing, spending time at their lake spot and traveling.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Mike (Sandy), Langley, Wash., and David (Tina), Meridian, Idaho; his twin sister, Dona (Clarence) Tostenson, Madison, S.D.; a grandson and three granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers.
Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, Zoar Lutheran Church, LaMoure, with the Rev. John Estrem officiating. Arrangements byDahlstrom Funeral Home, LaMoure.
Burial: North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, N.D.

Brenda Krueger
Brenda Krueger, 32, Valley City, died Friday, July 27, 2001, at Mercy Hospital, Valley City.
Brenda Lyn Huber was born Nov. 27, 1968, at Milwaukee, Wis., the daughter of Eugene and Theresa (Baumgartner) Huber. She moved with her family to Devils Lake, N.D., at a young age. She later moved to Lisbon with her family, where she grew up and attended school. She moved to Valley City in 1987. She married Daron Krueger on Feb. 10, 1990, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Valley City. They lived in Valley City, where she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Darock, at home; two daughters, Arelle and Rathyn, both at home; her father, Lisbon; her mother, Fargo, N.D.; three brothers, Bill, West Fargo, N.D., Dean (Stephanie), Wahpeton, N.D., and Don, Fargo; and two sisters, Janine (David) Ogren, Wishek, N.D., and Sheri Huber, St. Cloud, Minn.
Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Valley City, with the Rev. Paul Huso officiating. Arrangements by Peterson-Johnson-Schuldt Funeral Home, Valley City.
Burial: Hillside Cemetery, Valley City.

Philip Huber Jr.
Philip Huber Jr., 81, Lehr, N.D., died Saturday, July 28, 2001, at St. Alexius Hospital, Bismarck, N.D.
Mr. Huber was born July 18, 1920, at Saskatchewan, Canada, the son of Philip and Karoline (Hoff) Huber. The family lived for a couple years in Canada and moved to the Lehr area shortly before the Christmas of 1928. He grew up and attended school in the Lehr area. After his schooling he and his brother started farming together in the Lehr area. They farmed for 78 years until retiring in 1996 when they both moved into Lehr. He enjoyed farming, taking care of his pet cats and traveling to California to visit his sister.
He is survived by his brother, Jack, Lehr; and a sister, Alice Mau, Sacramento, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, two in infancy, a twin brother, and Sam, Emil and Reinhold; and a sister, Martha.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, Lehr United Methodist Church, Lehr, with the Rev. Ronn Wilke officiating. Arrangements by Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek, N.D..
Burial: Lehr City Cemetery, Lehr.

Constance Munson
Constance L. "Connie" Munson, 56, New Rockford, N.D., died Sunday, July 29, 2001, at Carrington Health Center, Carrington, N.D.
Constance L. Paulson was born Jan. 10, 1945, at Gully, Minn., the daughter of Wilton and Viola (Simonson) Paulson. Her father died when she was young and her mother married Herb Erdelbrock, who became her father. She grew up in Munster Township, Eddy County, near New Rockford, and graduated from New Rockford High School in 1963. She graduated from Jamestown Beauty School in 1964. She married Thomas Munson Feb. 28, 1964, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, New Rockford. She worked as a house painter for several years, then worked for Eddy County as deputy treasurer for 18 years. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, New Rockford. She enjoyed gardening, raising flowers, refinishing antiques and attending auctions.
She is survived by her husband; four sons, Wayne (Melissa), Bismarck, N.D., Shayne (Ruth), West Fargo, N.D., and Jason and Justin (Tiffany), both New Rockford; her parents, New Rockford; two sisters, Jerilyn (Bob) Kaiser, Jamestown, and Cheryl Erdelbrock, Denver, Colo.; and seven grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, First Lutheran Church, New Rockford, with the Rev. Harry Dramstad officiating. Arrangements by Evans Funeral Home, New Rockford.
Burial: Prairie Home Cemetery, New Rockford.

Edwin Fischer
Edwin Fischer, 91, Fargo, N.D., died Sunday, July 29, 2001, at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo.
Mr. Fischer was born June 16, 1910, at Stutsman County, the son of Jacob and Fredericka (Staus) Fischer. He grew up and attended school in Stutsman County. He married Lydia Remboldt at Streeter, N.D. They lived on a farm one mile east of Streeter. They farmed until 1964 and then bought a resort on Lake Sallie near Detroit Lakes, Minn. After they sold the resort they bought a lake home on Lake Sallie. In 1995 they moved to Fargo.
He is survived by his wife; a son Jerroll (Arlene), Wheaton, Minn.; a daughter, Marella (Richard) Haugen, Fargo; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services: 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, Edgewood United Methodist Church, Fargo. Arrangements byHanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo.
Burial: Streeter Cemetery, Streeter.

David Wigdahl
David "O'Bannon" Harold Wigdahl, 52, Valley City, N.D., died Monday, July 30, 2001, at his home.
Mr. Wigdahl was born Nov. 8, 1948, at Charles City, Iowa, the son of Marvin and Evelyn (Nelson) Wigdahl. He grew up at Ruthven, Iowa, where he graduated from high school in 1967. He attended the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In 1970 he then entered the U.S. Navy, where he was a communication technician (Morse Code operator) and personnel man on the U.S.S. John King off the coast of Vietnam. He received the Combat Action Ribbon. He was honorably discharged in 1973. He became a student of Iowa State University, Ames, graduating in 1975 with a bachelor of arts degree with a major in sociology and a minor in business. He also completed one year of graduate school at Iowa State, where he worked towards a master degree in sociology. He later attended Brown Institute of Radio Broadcasting, Minneapolis, Minn. In 1977 he worked for WOCH radio in North Vernon, Ind., where he served as news and sports director. In July 1981 he came to KOVC radio in Valley City, where he became sports director for KOVC and Dakota Country Radio. In 1992 he left KOVC and attended the Uniglob Travel Academy, Grafton, Wis. In July 1993 he returned to KOVC to resume his duties as sports director. He had the Saturday morning show called Coffee with the Coaches. Since 1981 he served as play by play announcer for over 2000 high school and college football, basketball and baseball games. He was the voice of the Valley City High School Hi-Liners and Valley City State University Vikings. He was inducted in the Valley City State University Athletic Hall of Fame in 2000 and the Valley City High School Hall of Fame in the spring of 2001. He received the North Dakota School Activities Association Award of Merit in 1984. He served many years on the Valley City State University Booster board. He received many local awards for broadcasting. He also served in many other duties at KOVC including regular on air shifts, news gathering and reporting. He also emceed many Valley City High School Hall of Fame banquets.
He is survived by his parents, Ruthven, Iowa; three brothers, The Rev. Steven (Keri), Naples, Fla., James, Boston, Mass., and John (Nicki), Minneapolis; two sisters, Janet (Tom) Greenaway, Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and Joanne (Vince) Zanotti, Des Moines, Iowa.
Services: 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, The W.E. Osmon Fieldhouse, Valley City State University, with the Rev. Thomas Peterson officiating. Arrangements by Peterson-Johnson-Schuldt Funeral Home, Valley City.
Burial: Memory Gardens, near Valley City.
Memorials: The Dave O'Bannon Memorial Fund c/o Farmers and Merchants Bank, 240 3rd St. N.W., Valley City, N.D., 58072 for the benefit of Valley City State University and Valley City High School.

Stephen Schmit
Stephen Nicholas Schmit, 81, Carrington, N.D., died Monday, July 30, 2001, at Golden Acres Manor, Carrington.
Mr. Schmit was born June 9, 1920, at the family farm near Bordulac, N.D., the son of Hubert and Barbara (Youngers) Schmit. He grew up and attended school at Bordulac. He lived and worked on the family farm until he married Edith Thornton June 9, 1947, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Bordulac. They purchased half of the same section of land, where he was born and raised. He farmed and milked dairy cows and worked for John Murphy until retiring in 1987. After retiring, they continued to live on the family farm. In April 1995 he entered the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd, New Rockford. In October 1996 he moved to Golden Acres Manor, Carrington. He was a 4-H leader for many years. He was a life long member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Bordulac. He enjoyed farming and his dogs and cattle on the farm.
He is survived by his wife; four sons, Stephen C., West Fargo, N.D., Timothy (Faye), Williston, N.D., Leonard (Rita), Mapleton, N.D., and Joseph (Kelly), West Fargo, N.D.; six daughters, Annabell (Bob) Bruce, Glendale, Ariz., Mary (Bill) Bowen, Jamestown, Coleen (Richard) Biel, Des Moines, Wash., Joanna Slag, Bismarck, N.D., Bertha (Maurice) Bell, and Elizabeth Schmit, both San Diego, Calif.; two brothers, Vincent (Patricia), Bordulac, and Vernon, Edmonds, N.D.; a sister, Rosella (Delbert) Howey, Lisbon, N.D.; 20 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Eleanor Seiler; and an infant child.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Carrington, with the Rev. Lawrence Haas officiating. Arrangements by Evans Funeral Home, Carrington.
Burial: Carrington Cemetery, Carrington.
