Calvin (Kelly) Barr

Calvin (Kelly) Barr, 77, died Wednesday, July 17, 2002 in his home.

Kelly was born February 13, 1925 near Pillsbury, ND to Reuben J. and Kathryn (McKay) Barr where he grew up and graduated from high school. He joined the US Army in 1946 and served in Korea. He married Lila Trana on June 20, 1947 in Staples, MN. They moved to Fargo in 1951 where he worked for the Fargo Police Department, retiring as a lieutenant in 1971. After retiring, he lived in Cooperstown, ND, Staples, MN and near Pillsbury, ND before returning to Fargo in 1988.

He is survived by two sons, Barry and Ron (Nancy), all of Fargo and one daughter, Candy (Gerry) Huss, Valley City, ND; five grandchildren, Crystal Barr, Ashley Barr, Adam Huss, Kaitlyn Huss, and April Barr.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lila, a brother, Russell, a sister, Patricia and his parents.

Funeral: Saturday, 10 AM at Peace Lutheran Church, Fargo.

Visitation: Friday, 5-7 PM at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo.

Burial: Page cemetery, Page, ND

Corinne Barrie

Corinne B. Barrie, 84, of Fargo, ND, died Sunday, March 17, 2002 at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo.

Corinne Miron was born February 6, 1918 in Leroy, ND, the daughter of Louis P. and Louise (Renaud) Miron. In 1923 she moved with her family to St. Boniface, Manitoba where she graduated from high school. After graduation she attended and received her degree at the Institut Collegial Saint Joseph in St. Boniface, Manitoba. Corinne was employed by the St. Boniface Hospital. On July 10, 1941 she married Dr. James G. Barrie in Winnipeg, Manitoba. During their working years they lived in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Estevan, Saskatchewan, and Park River ND. After retirement in 1980 they moved to Sun City, CA, and in 1998 they moved to Fargo, ND. James died in 2000.

She is preceded in death by her husband James, and son William.

She is survived by a son, Claude (Nancy) of Moorhead, MN, and a daughter, Diane (Tom) Tallackson, of St. Paul, MN, and 6 grandchildren.

Funeral: Wednesday, 1:30 PM at Riverview Place, Fargo.

Visitation: On hour prior to the service at Riverview Place.

Charlotte Bolme

Charlotte Bolme, 73, died Monday, December 23, 2002, at Mesa Lutheran Medical Center, Mesa, AZ.

Charlotte Ann Yaeger, daughter of Jacob E. and Minnie (Rosenau) Yaeger, was born September 11, 1929. She graduated from high school in Jamestown and received her RN degree at Grand Forks, ND.

She married Richard D. Bolme in 1950 in Jamestown, ND. They moved to Fargo. Charlotte worked at St. Luke’s Hospital as a surgical nurse throughout most of her medical career. They moved to Mesa, AZ., in 1995.

She is survived by her husband, Richard, Mesa, AZ; two daughters, Kathleen Weber, Phoenix, AZ; Barbara (Bruce) Prichard, Mesa, AZ; one son, Gregory (Sally) Bolme, Mesa, AZ; two grandchildren, Steven Prichard and Jessica Weber; her sister, Betty (Jim) Hillstead, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Steven; and her brother, Jacob D. Yaeger.

Funeral: Saturday, January 4, 2003, at 1:00 P.M. at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND.

Visitation: one hour before the service at Hanson-Runsvold.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND.

Diane Breyer

Diane Breyer, 72, died Thursday, October 17, 2002, at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo.

Diane, daughter of Gordon and Bertha (Ewald) Argall was born July 12, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan. She attended school at Park School in Moorhead. Diane married Arthur Breyer on February 26, 1946 in Moorhead. They made their home in Fargo in 1956 and there raised their family.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur; three sons, Mike (Sandy) Breyer, Minneapolis, MN; Gary (Cathy) Breyer, Fargo, ND; Paul (Carol) Breyer, Minneapolis, MN: and one daughter, Jan Breyer of Fargo, ND; a sister, Eleanor Renstrom, Fort Morgan, CO; grandchildren, Beckie, Kelly, Stacy, Matthew, Sarah, Jessie and Jake; great-grandchildren, Siena, Mya and Marissa; and her special friend, Millie Wendt.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Special thanks to Dr. Gross and MeritCare Staff at 6 North, 7 North and TCU.

There will be a gathering of friends on Monday, October 21, 2002 at 11:00 AM at Hope Lutheran North Campus.

Andreas Buringrud

Andreas Olaus (Ole) Buringrud died suddenly January 17, 2002 while visiting his son in Escondido, CA.

Ole was born on March 6, 1915 in Thief River Falls, Minnesota to Nils and Martha Buringrud. The Buringrud family moved to Hillsboro, ND in 1931. On June 21, 1938, he married Frances Lundeen in Moorhead, MN. They farmed in the Hillsboro area for 33 years and were members of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. In 1971, he retired from farming and began building and renovating homes in the area. Ole and Frances were the caretakers of a senior high rise in West Fargo after leaving the farm in 1972. They joined Olivet Lutheran Church in Fargo where he worked as one of the church custodians. He enjoyed tinkering with mechanical things, wood working and traveling to visit his children and their families.

Ole is survived by one sister, Bertha (Halger) Lindgren of Fargo, ND; two brothers, Nils (Elaine) of Fargo, ND, and Einar of Argusville, ND; five children, Karen (Ray) Enders, Tualatin, OR, Glenn (Lourdes), Ponce, Puerto Rico, Arlene (Ray) Pederson, Rockford, IL, Duane (Kerri), Escondido, CA, and Lynn (Susan), Mapleton, ND; fourteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. His wife, Frances, his parents, one sister, two brothers and two grandchildren preceded him in death.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: Saturday, February 9, 2002 at 1:30 PM in Olivet Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND.

GATHERING OF FRIENDS: One hour before the service at the church.

BURIAL: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.

Donna Jean Charboneau

Donna Jean Charboneau (77), long-time Warren resident and owner/proprietor of the Warren Jewelry Store for 15 years, died on Thursday August 8, 2002. Donna Askegard was born in Grand Forks, ND on Feb. 21, 1925. She married H.L. (Frenchy) Charboneau on Dec. 30, 1944 and moved to Warren, MN in 1945. Donna and Frenchy (deceased) raised 5 children in Warren. Donna worked much of her life in local businesses, culminating in the ownership of Warren Jewelry & Gift, of which she was very proud. Donna enjoyed writing poetry, bowling with Frenchy, sewing, and became an avid golfer. In 1990 she moved to St. Paul where she lived with son Darrell (Lois). In 2000, she moved to Northfield near son Scott (Marcia). She lived at Three Links Care Center in Northfield under the watchful care of Marcia, where she died peacefully last Thursday.

The funeral service will be held at Hanson Runsvold Funeral Chapel, Fargo, ND, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday August 14, with a visitation and viewing one hour before and lunch following at McIntyre’s, 4104 33rd Street SW, Prairie Rose, ND.

Donna was the second oldest of a large family, daughter of Arthur and Alice Askegard (deceased). She was preceded in death by sister Leona Schmidt and half-brother Lloyd Askegard. She is survived by sister, Norma (Seattle, WA), brother, Don (wife Ardelle, Fridley, ND), Warren (Seattle,WA) Charles (Chuck) (wife Gladys) (Meridian, Idaho), and Vernon (wife Dee) (Gulf Breeze, FL). Donna is also survived by daughters Gwen (Dennis) McIntyre of Fargo, ND, Debra Maxwell of Sorrento, British Columbia, and Jodi of St. Paul, MN and sons Darrell (Lois) of St. Paul and Scott (Marcia) of Farmington, MN. Donna had nine grandchildren, Nicole Fowler, Emily Harding, Heather and Kelly Maxwell, Rebecca, Elisabeth, Matthew (Kip) Charboneau, Stephanie and Laura Charboneau, and three step-grandchildren, Ellie Outwater, Tim Erickson, and Jennifer Knudson.

Memorials may be sent to Warren Senior Center Endowment Fund, Warren, MN 56762.

Arnold K. Christensen

Arnold K. Christensen, 74, West Fargo, died Thursday, December 19, 2002, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo.

Arnie Christensen was born December 10, 1928, in Barnesville, Clay County, Minnesota to Oris K. Christensen and Virginia (Stover) Christensen. He grew up in the Lake Park area where he attended high school. He spent three years in the United States Marine Corps from 1947 to 1950. He married Frances Augusta Johnson of Alta, Iowa, on September 2, 1950. They had four children: Dennis, Richard, Leslie, and Avis. In 1968 he married Varadeen E. (Asp) Syverson in Aberdeen, S.D. They had two children together: Karmith and Delane. In 1994 they moved to West Fargo.

He was predeceased by his wife Varadeen. He has two siblings that survive him: Donald Christensen (Perham, Minnesota) and Phyllis Bonner (Kalispell, Montana). Five sons survive him: Dennis (Doreen) Christensen (Cody, Wyoming), Richard Christensen (Frazee, Minnesota), Les (Wendy) Christensen (Garmisch, Germany), Karmith Christensen (West Fargo), and Delane (Lara) Christensen (Dilworth, Minnesota). One daughter survives him: Avis (Dave) Quenette (West Fargo). One stepson survives him: Duane Syverson (Oakfield, Tennessee). One stepdaughter survives him: Valorie (Syverson) (Mike) Eklund (Twin Valley, Minnesota). There are ten grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one step-great-grandchild.

Visitation: from 6 – 7 p.m. on Sunday, 22 December.

Prayer Service: 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, 22 December.

Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. on Monday, 23 December, at the Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, 215 S. 7th Street, Fargo.

Burial: Following the funeral (weather permitting) at the Wild Rice Lutheran cemetery near Twin Valley.

Archie Kyllo

Archie M. Kyllo, 93, of Harwood, ND, died Tuesday, January 29, 2002 in Manor Health Care Center, Fargo, ND where he resided for 4 years.

Archie M. Kyllo was born on August 16, 1908 in Fargo, ND, the son of Theodore and Minnie (Halvorson) Kyllo.

Archie grew up on a farm near Harwood and attended a rural grade school. He farmed all of his life in Reed and Raymond Townships. On January 12, 1936, he married Ina Lillemon in Moorhead, MN. In 1974 Archie and Ina bought a house near Harwood. Ina died in 1991.

Archie served on the board of directors at the Harwood Bank for 21 years. He was a lifetime member of the Maple Sheyenne Lutheran Church of Harwood.

He is preceded in death by 2 brothers, Richard and Gilbert, and 2 sisters, Ethel Quam and Marion Johnson.

He is survived by 2 sons, Richard (Reita) Kyllo of Longmont, CO, Curtis (Linda) Kyllo of Harwood, ND; 2 daughters, Karen (Ronald) Hanusch of Dunvilla, MN, Diane (Clark) Hanson of Fargo, ND; 3 sisters, Pearl Colby of Renton, WA, Grace Ward of Cambridge, MN, Doris (Aldo) Johnson of Fargo, ND; a special friend Hazel; 10 grandchildren, Julie (Brad) Homan, Joni (Paul) Hexum, Tracy Lolio, Trent (Linda) Kyllo, Traig Kyllo, Derrik (Leslie) Hanson, Kari Hanson, Jason Hanson, Alison (Robert) Rock, Sarah Kyllo; 12 great grand-children, Emily and Alec Homan, Kaitlin and Nickolas Hexum, Amanda Stout, Kasey Arrington, Madeline Kyllo, Alexis Hanson, Annika and Erik Hanson, Madison and Salena Rock.

Funeral: Saturday, February 2, 2002 at 11 AM at Maple Sheyenne Lutheran Church, Harwood, ND

Visitation: Friday, February 1, 2002 from 5-7 PM at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND, and one hour before the service at the church.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND.

Amy Larson

Amy Larson, 82, of Fargo, died Sunday, May 5, 2002 at Rosewood on Broadway Nursing Home, Fargo, ND.

Amy was born on January 26, 1920 in Edin, MN, the daughter of Thomas and Anne (Johnson) Stende. She attended rural schools near Flom, MN and later High School in Twin Valley. In 1940, she moved to Fargo where she worked at National Tea Grocery as a Produce Manager. On September 6, 1947, she married Eddie Larson in Moorhead, MN. They both resided in Fargo until the times of their death. Eddie died on January 2, 1970.

Amy was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, the Red River Valley Handicaps Club, and M.S. Share and Care.

Amy is survived by two sons, Victor (Marsha) Larson of Ritzville, WA, and Ronald Larson of Anoka, MN; some nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins.

Amy was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie; her parents, Thomas and Anne Stende; one sister, Einez Stevens; and one brother, Lelend Stende.

FUNERAL: Friday, May 10, 2002 at 11:00 AM in Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND.

VISITATION: Thursday, May 9, 2002 from 5-8 PM in Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND.

BURIAL: Riverside cemetery, Fargo, ND.
