Ted B. Miller
09/03/1930 - Wednesday, December 14, 2005

Ted B. Miller, Jr., 75, of Gering died Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at his home. Cremation was held at Sunset Memorial Park Crematory in Scottsbluff. A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 19, 2005 at Central Church of Christ in Gering with Pastor Herb Rainey officiating. Masonic rites will be conducted by Scotts Bluff Lodge #201 and Robert W. Furnas Lodge #265 AF & AM. A private family inurnment will be in West Lawn cemetery in Gering with military rites by the Nebraska National Guard.
Ted was born September 3, 1930 to Ted B. and Ora (Sigler) Miller. He graduated from Gering High School in 1948. Upon graduation Ted enlisted in the U. S. Navy serving on the USS Capitaine, a submarine based out of San Francisco, CA as a machinists mate. He was discharged in December 1949. Recalled to active duty during the Korean War, he served in the Aleutian Islands and Guam with the U. S. Naval Cargo Handling Battalion #2 until his discharge in 1953.
Ted was united in marriage with Dorothy Olson on June 27, 1954 in Gering. He operated the family farm/construction equipment business until his retirement in 1994.
Ted was a member of the Central Church of Christ, Scotts Bluff Lodge #201 AF & AM, York and Scottish Rite bodies, Panhandle Shrine Club and the Scottsbluff Elks Lodge #1367. He served two terms on the Gering City Council, Northfield Villa Board and Oregon Trail Foundation.
Survivors include his wife Dorothy; daughter: Dee (Tom) Butler, Broken Arrow, OK; sons: Ted III (Ellen Combs) and Max (Colleen) and daughter: Jan (Jim) Zitterkopf all of Scottsbluff; brothers: Jerry (G. K. ) of Vancouver, WA and Jack of Twin Falls, ID; and grandchildren: Brittany Mullins, Michael, Alaina, Gabriel, Josiah and Rebekah Butler and Emily and Allison McMann.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Keitha and grandson Tommy Butler.
Memorials to Central Church of Christ or to the donor's choice.

Jessie L. Wilkinson
08/24/1917 - Tuesday, November 29, 2005

Jessie L. Wilkinson, 88 of Morrill, Nebraska died Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at Regional West Medical Center, after a long extended illness.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 3, 2005 at the First Presbyterian Church in Scottsbluff with Reverends Jeff Porter and Ronald Nuss-Warren officiating. Pallbearers will be Jessie’s sons and grandsons. Interment will be at West Lawn cemetery in Gering. The casket will be closed at the church.
Jessie was born August 24, 1917 in Gering, Nebraska. She was the second child of three daughters born to Fred & Sarah (Hughes) Grant. She started school at No. 50 Banner County and as a sophomore lived in a dormitory attending Harrisburg School. Jessie specialized in business/commercial classes and graduated from Harrisburg High School
Jessie married James R. Wilkinson August 7, 1938. Jim was in the Army Air Force during WWII and Jessie worked as a secretary supporting herself and following Jim wherever he was stationed. In February of 1946 they returned to Morrill, NE and operated the Gamble’s store for 27 years, later moving to a farm/ranch three miles northwest of Morrill. Jessie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Survivors include her husband Jim of Morrill; two sons, Jim D. (Jeannie) Wilkinson, of Morill, NE and Edwin Wilkinson of Phoenix, AZ; daughter-in-law: Jane of Cairo, GA, four grandsons, Jason (Julie) Wilkinson of Morrill, NE, Jarod (DeAnna) Wilkinson of Lincoln, NE, Tod (Dayle) Wilkinson and Troy (Deanna) Wilkinson all of Phoenix, AZ; nine great grandchildren: Jessica Wilkinson, Martha and Molly Wilkinson, Taylor Wilkinson, Issac and Sierra Robinson, and Nicole, Peyton and Haley Wilkinson; sister: Maxine Todd of Phoenix, AZ
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Winnifred Kelly.
A memorial has been established to the Festival of Hope.

Fay Alma Thomas Graves
06/05/1920 - Sunday, November 13, 2005

Fay Graves, 85, who had been residing at Beverly Healthcare passed away on Sunday, November 13th.
Her funeral will be at 10 am on Friday the 18th at the Central Church of Christ in Gering. The Rev. Howard Roseberry will officiate at the funeral. The burial will be in the West Lawn cemetery.
Fay was born June 5, 1920 in Clay Center, NE to Albert and Cora Belle Thomas. She was the second sister in a family of 9 girls. She married Robert Dale Graves on October 11, 1938. She is survived by her only son, Michael Clane Graves of Pasadena, CA, three grandchildren, Julie Boley, Christopher Graves, Anthony Graves, a total of 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson plus three sisters, Evelyn Armstrong, June Harris and Donna Campbell all of Gering, NE. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews and cousins from both the Thomas and the Smith families.
For a time Fay and Bob lived in California where they both worked in the defense industry during World War II. Later on they purchased a small grocery store in the resort community of Grand Lake, Colorado. Later they moved to Kansas where Fay became a manager for Avon. When they retired they lived for a number of years in St. George, UT. After Bob's death in 1991 Fay wanted to be near her sisters and since then she has lived in Scottsbluff, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents and five of her sisters; Margie Irene Thomas Baker, Rita Belle Thomas Rockwell, Shirley Thomas Kahle, Lela Thomas and Lila Thomas.
She lives in the memory of her family as a warm hearted, generous and hard working Mother, Grandmother, Sister and friend. She will be greatly missed.

Frieda Trute
10/15/1905 - Sunday, October 30, 2005

A funeral service for Frieda Trute, 100 years old of Gering, Nebraska, who died Sunday, October 30, 2005 at Heritage Health Care Center will be held Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church, Gering with Rev. Richard Neugebauer and Rev. Ralph Morris officiating. Interment will be at West Lawn cemetery in Gering.
Frieda was born on October 15, 1905 at Lincoln, NE. to Christian and Augusta (Salzbrenner) Goeglein. She was the seventh child in a family of eleven children. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, when she was young and continued to be an active member of her church throughout her life.
Frieda’s family moved to Yuma, Colorado in 1917, when she was 12. She received her early schooling at St. John’s Lutheran Parochial School. Frieda married Ernest F. Trute on October 15, 1930 and they farmed and ranched for 22 years at Yuma.
In 1952, the family moved to the Scottsbluff-Gering area, where they and Bob Slie were partners in the S & T Motors Company for 25 years. They enjoyed traveling and their home at Lake McConaughy.
Frieda enjoyed her bible study group and knitting club and was always making gifts for her family and friends. She always gave a helping hand wherever needed.
Survivors include her son Glen (Barbara) of Yuma, Col., daughters Virginia (Duane) Knapp of North Platte and Ruth (Don) Tripple of Gering; nine grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; brother-in-law Raymond (Betty) Trute of Gardnerville, NV; two sisters-in-law Verda and Edna Goeglein of Yuma and many nieces and nephews.
Frieda was preceded in death by her husband Ernest in 1992, parents, brothers and sisters.
Beyond earth’s sorrows, the joys of heaven, Eternal blessings with Christ my Lord. Earth’s weeping ended, Earth’s trials over, Sweet rest in Jesus, O blest Reward.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Faith Lutheran Church.

Kelsey Nicole Baltz
11/11/2005 - Friday, November 11, 2005

Kelsey Nicole Baltz, daughter of Jenny and Chris, died Friday, November 11, 2005 at Regional West Medical Center.
Although not yet born, she was a beloved member of our family and a joy to her parents, brothers Brett and Gavin and sister Alyssa. We were never able to hold her or cuddle her, but we could not have loved her more. Now she is in heaven, where she can be held and cuddled and loved by God, but she will live on in our hearts forever.
Kelsey is survived by her parents, brothers and sister; grandparents Ron and Peggy McFarland of Gering and JaNora Baltz of Torrington; aunt Lindsey McFarland of Kearney; uncle Shawn McFarland (Jama Schaub) of Scottsbluff and cousins Jake, Livvy and Gracie Schaub and MacKenzie and Marissa McFarland.
She was preceded in death by her great grandparents.
A private graveside service will be held Monday, November 14, 2005 at West Lawn cemetery with Father Kevin Koch officiating.

Mildred C. DeLett
10/29/1913 - Wednesday, April 12, 2006

Mildred C. DeLett, 92 of Avalon Beach, Florida went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at her home.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 20, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Mitchell with Pastor Sheila Taylor officiating. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill (Hull) cemetery in Harrisburg.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Gering Memorial Chapel.
Mildred was born on October 29, 1913. She moved from Scottsbluff in 1996 and resided with her son Allen. She was Director of Nurses at Century Hospital for 33 years. She attended Mae Edwards Methodist Church.
She will be remembered by three sons: Allen Jordan, Ashton (Pam) Jordan and Devon (Judy) Jordan all of Milton, Fl; one daughter Janice Porter of Houston, TX; five grandchildren: Brian and Mike Jordan, and Scarlett White all of Milton, Fl, Heather Fries of Albuquerque, NM and Alexandra Porter-Few of Seattle, WA; Three great grandchildren: Drake Garrett, Raie and Rachelle Jordan of which she was all so proud.
Mildred’s extended family includes: Frances Benitez, grandson Charles Allen and granddaughters Charli and Lorriana Benitez.
She was preceded in death by her parents Bertha and Chester Cronn; brother, Duard Cronn; sisters, Avis Childs and Myrna Cronn; her husband, Glenn DeLett and infant son Brian Jordan.
She was the worlds greatest mother and her memories will be cherished by many. “But especially by me, I’ll see you again soon enough. I will always love you so much pumpkin,” your loving son, Allen, good bye for now.
Special thanks to all the tender care from Elizabeth Straughn, Scarlett White, Brian Jordan, Mike Stokes, Francis Benetiz and Hospice of NW Florida.

Eleanor Axson Webb
02/22/1916 - Wednesday, April 12, 2006

Eleanor A. Webb, 90 of Gering, Nebraska died Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at the Northfield Villa Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held Monday, April 17, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church in Gering with The Very Reverend Gary Young officiating. Inurnment will follow at West Lawn cemetery in Gering. At her request, Eleanor was cremated.
Eleanor was born on February 22, 1916 near Minatare, Nebraska to William B. and Louella R. (Schoonover) Russell. She moved to Morrill when she was 2 years old and graduated from Morrill High School in 1933. She moved to Minatare where she worked for John R. Jirdon Industries later working for Great Western Sugar Factory until it closed.
She married William H. Webb on May 14, 1938 in Ft. Collins, Colorado and to this union two sons were born.
In 1940, they moved to Scottsbluff where she worked for the Union Pacific Railroad, later working for 20 years for the Scotts Bluff County as a secretary and court stenographer, retiring in 1978. Her husband William died in October of 1975. In 1987, she moved to Northfield Villa, where she resided until her death.
Eleanor was a member of St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church in Gering and a member of PEO Chapter G.I.
Survivors include her sons William “Bill” Webb of Arlington, Texas and Jerome “Jerry” Webb of Plano, Texas; five grandchildren; one great grandson and foster daughter Linda Corcoran of Richmond, VA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Jim Russell and sisters Erma Andrew, Ethel Johnston, Christel Fleenor and Mayme McNally.
A memorials has been established to the Northfield Villa.

Mareldine Sue Lemons
08/21/1924 - Wednesday, April 19, 2006

Mareldine Sue Lemons, 81 of Gering, Nebraska died Wednesday morning, April 19, 2006 at Regional West Medical Center.
Her memorial service will be held Friday, April 21, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church in Gering with Deacon Robert W. Manasek officiating. At her request, she was cremated.
She was born on August 21, 1924 in Benkelman, Nebraska to William and Maude Roach. She graduated from Benkelman High School at the age of 16. She married Don Lemons on October 27, 1946. The couple lived their early years ranching in the Harrison, Nebraska and Lodgegrass, Montana area. They moved to Gering in 1951. She worked for the Gentry-Clark Clinic and later retired from the Scotts Bluff County Superintendent of Schools office in 1989.
She enjoyed swimming at the YMCA over the lunch hour, playing bridge, boating and water skiing, spending time with her family and friends, as well as watching her grandchildren participate in many of their activities. She was a member of the duplicate bridge club, Women of the Moose, and St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church.
Survivors include her husband Don; sons Mike and wife Susie (Wade) of Omaha and Tony and wife Kay (Schlaepfer) of Scottsbluff; daughters Linda and husband Gary McMeekin of Alliance and Barbara and husband Tom Kreifels of Syracuse, NE. Grandchildren are Joe Brennan of Murray, UT, Lisa Yosten of Omaha, Chris McMeekin of Lincoln, Mike Kreifels of Albuquerque, NM, Carrie Windhorst of Lincoln, Jason McDuffee of Omaha, Laura Kaiser of Lincoln, Ryan McDuffee of Omaha, Kristi Kreifels of Ceresco, Krissy Lemons of Omaha, Jordan and Brock Lemons of Scottsbluff. Great grandchildren are Starla and Emma Jo Brennan, Gavin and Avery Yosten, Trinton and Aiden McDuffee and Jacob Windhorst.
She was preceded in death by her parents William and Maude Roach, her brother Charles Roach and sisters Esther Roach and Margaret Grenier.
Memorials may be made to the St. Timothy's Episcopal Church of Gering or to the Scottsbluff-Gering Seacats Swim Team.
