Margaret R. (Birdsall) Glandt age 96 of Lincoln, formerly of Omaha passed away July 23, 2016. She was born September 21, 1919 in Union, New Jersey to Joseph and Corynne (Shaw) Fischer.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, John and Jeannie Birdsall of Lincoln; granddaughter, Joni Birdsall; grandson and spouse, Rick and Debra Birdsall. Great grandchildren, Wyatt, Jarod and Luci Packard. Step great grandson, Vincent Wheatley. Special nieces, Linda Kuehl and Sherri Buford. Nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Alfred Glandt. Brother, Walter Fischer, 3 other brothers and 1 sister.
Services will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Wyuka Funeral Home.
Visitation will be at Wyuka Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 26th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. with family greeting friends from 6:00-7:00 P.M.
Interment will be at Wyuka cemetery.
Memorials to the Cat House, a no kill cat shelter, Lincoln, NE.

Robert D. Willey
Robert Dean Willey, 68, of Lincoln, passed away July 21, 2016. He was born April 7, 1948 in Geneva to Dean and LaVeta (Madison) Willey. Robert graduated from Geneva High School and continued on to Southeast Community College in Milford and graduated with a degree in mechanics. Robert served in the Marine Corps from 1968-1970, and belonged to American Legion Post #216.
Robert Married Judith (Horky) of Friend in 1979 in Lincoln. Robert enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandsons, playing cards and restoring cars. Robert retired from Goodyear in 2005 after 35 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Survived by his wife Judith; daughter Amanda (Jarrod) Neujahr, grandsons Brayden, Coleton, and Logan; his son, Brian Willey (Dani) Grandson Hudson; sister, Norma Jean Willey; sister-in-law Jane(Ken) Harpenau; sister-in-law Janelle Kopsa; cousins, niece, nephews, and many dear friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday July 27, 4:00 p.m. at Risky’s 48th & Leighton Lincoln. In Lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family.

Dirk Stuart, age 47, of Lincoln passed away on July 17, 2016 a patient of Bryan Heart Hospital. Dirk donated his organs to Nebraska Organ Donation. No service information at this time.

Karen L. Bailey
Karen LaVonne Bailey, age 73, of Lincoln passed away early Saturday, July 16, 2016. There will be private family services at a later date.

Leonard Carl Coy, Jr.
Leonard Carl Coy, Jr. age 63 of Lincoln, Nebraska died on Monday, August 8, 2011 at Lancaster Manor. He was born on October 22, 1947 in Lincoln to Leonard Carl Coy, Sr. and Frances Kirwin. He worked as a roofer most of his life. Cremation/no visitation. Burial will be in Wyuka cemetery.

Tricia Lynne Griggs
Tricia Lynne Griggs age 61 of Lincoln, Nebraska died on Thursday, August 4, 2011 in Lincoln. She was born on March 17, 1950 in Russellville, Alabama to James C. and Lucy (Justice) Bozeman. She married Phillip Griggs, Sr., on July 19, 1980. Tricia worked in sales for Jones Oil and Rockport Oil for 15 years. Tricia is survived by her husband, Phillip Griggs, Sr., of Lincoln; her son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Anna Griggs, Jr., of Utica, Nebraska; her son, Chris Griggs of Utica; 7 grandchildren; her aunt and uncle, Leo and Sue Heaps of Hickman. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Jerry Bozeman. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 7, 2011 from 1:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Monday, August 8, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery.

Louise Ann Batty
Louise Ann Batty, age 65, of Lincoln, Nebraska died on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 in Lincoln. She was born on October 15, 1945 in Lincoln to Everett and Mildred (Spencer) Berggren. She was retired from working in housekeeping at the Legacy. Louise loved gardening and her dog Annie. Louise is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Jennifer Koch of Phoenix, Arizona; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Andy Verdooren of Lincoln; grandchildren, Ashley, Tatum and Wyatt. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2011 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with family receiving friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 5, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Wyuka cemetery. Burial will be in Wyuka cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.

Winifred Lucille Cather
Winifred Lucille Cather was born August 26, 1919 in University Place, NE and died July 22, 2011 in Lincoln, NE. Winnie graduated from Jackson High in 1937 and attended Nebraska Wesleyan University, where she was honored as a May Day attendant. She was admitted to Bryan School of Nursing but eloped instead, marrying Howard J. Cather in Council Bluffs on January 24, 1941. Winnie worked in Miller & Paine’s millenary department and during World War II at Stop Nut. She volunteered extensively as an American Red Cross nurse at Veterans’ Hospital, Brownie Scout leader and Holmes PTA president. A member of Longshot Investment Club and 100 Club, she was a State Fair award winning quilter and rug maker. Winnie loved reading into the night and living in the country with her horses, dogs and cats. She was preceded in death by Howard, husband of 65 years; parents Bernard and Sarah Japs and four siblings and survived by great granddaughter Chloe Lucille Herron, great grandson Cael Thomas Herron, granddaughter Gretchen A. Herron and husband S. Brent Herron, grandson Adam T. Petsch and wife Priscilla L. Petsch, daughter and son-in-law Cathie and Tom Petsch, son Jay Bernard Cather and brother Bernard C. Japs. “Pooh,” as she was called by her grandchildren, was a generous donor to many local causes and community organizations. Memorials may be given to Lincoln Children’s Zoo, 1222 South 27th Lincoln, NE 68502 or Nebraska Wesleyan University, 5000 Saint Paul Ave. Lincoln, NE 68504. A family service and burial was held at Wyuka cemetery.

Bernice Eleanor Underdahl
Bernice Eleanor Underdahl, age 87, of Lincoln, Nebraska died on Sunday, July 24, 2011 in Lincoln. She was born on November 13, 1923 in Preston, Minnesota to Alonzo and Eva (Inglebret) Nagle. Bernice graduated from Preston High School and Paul's School of Beauty in Minneapolis. She was employed as a beautician at Donaldson's in Minneapolis and in Austin, Minnesota. She operated her own beauty shop in Lyle, Minnesota. Bernice married Norman Russell Underdahl in 1948. She was a member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church where she was active in the women's organization (WELCA). She chaired the wedding and funeral committees for many years. She was a member of Quester International and served as state president for 2 years, the UNL Faculty Women's Club, UNL Ceres Club and PEO Chapter FB Lincoln. Bernice volunteered as a beautician at Tabitha Health Care for several years and for more than 25 years delivered Meals on Wheels and helped at the Lutheran Food Pantry. Bernice is survived by her husband, Norman of Lincoln; her daughter and son-in-law, Kimbra Underdahl and Ricky Simmons of Lincoln; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Katherine Nagle of Austin, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister and brother-in-law, Alberta and Emmet Soli. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2011 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Friday, July 29, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, 1015 Lancaster Lane, Lincoln with Pastor Kim Osborn officiating. Burial will be in Wyuka cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the National Parkinson Foundation or Donor's Choice.

Helen D. Birch
Helen D. Birch, 64, of Lincoln, was called home on Tuesday, July 19, 2011. Survived by her husband, Cammie Birch Jr.; six children, Vera M. Hunt, Michael L. Hunt, Louis J. Hunt, Ronald E. Hunt, Cassundra J. Faulkner (Brian), Brandy L. Birch; two brothers, Freddie G. Cox (Mary), Wayne Favors (Jean); 15 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Proceeded in death by her parents, grandparents, three aunts and four uncles. Homegoing Celebration will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 25, 2011, at Wyuka Funeral Home. Viewing will be 1 – 8 p.m. Sunday, July 24, 2011, at the funeral home

Bruce M. Herriott
Bruce M. Herriott, age 83 of Lincoln, NE died on Wednesday July 13, 2011 in Lincoln. He was born in Fairfield, IA on May 2, 1928 to Clyde and Lucile (Lyon) Herriott. He lived by his faith in God, his love of family and service to the community. He was proud of over 65 years of near perfect church attendance and lovingly provided the moral compass, protection and support for his family. An engineer by profession, he worked as a clerk, draftsman, service mgr, teacher and broadcast, sales & design engineers. He owned & operated TV Engineering from 1950-56 and Bruce Herriott & Associates from 1973-present. No visitation. A celebration of life service will be held on Friday July 22, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Southminster United Methodist Church, 2915 S 16th Street in Lincoln. A light lunch and time for fellowship with family and friends will be provided immediately thereafter in the church Fellowship Hall. Bruce is survived by his wife Darlene Herriott; step-sister Sonya Struthers and husband Clayton, son, Dan Herriott and wife Nataliya; daughter, Pat Amedeo and husband Doug; four grandchildren, Angela Finch and husband Arne, Christopher Herriott and wife Oriet, Jeffrey Herriott and wife Tressa, Inga Guliyeva; ten great-grandchildren, Chelsea McGrath, Sasha Herriott, Brandy Finch, Cody Herriott, Christian Herriott, Brittney Herriott, Mason Herriott, Aiden Herriott, Madelyn Finch, Ethan Finch; nephew, nieces and families. Preceded in death by parents and daughter Jane Herriott. Burial will be in Wyuka cemetery. Memorials in lieu of flowers are requested and may be directed to Southminster UMC or Peoples City Mission “Fund the Clinic”.

Richard I. “Dick” Sachs
Richard I. 'Dick' Sachs age 81 of Centerville, Ohio passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. He was born in New York City, New York to the late Joseph and Irene Sachs. Dick graduated from Champlain College in Plattsburg, New York and attended graduate school at New York University. He served in the U. S. Army Medical Corp. He was a realtor with great honesty and integrity in the Dayton area for 28 years, retiring from Coldwell Banker Heritage in 2005. Since his retirement, he had been a volunteer at Miami Valley Hospital. Dick is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Audrey Goldberg Sachs, formerly of Beatrice, Nebraska; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Radene and Ralph Stump of Beatrice; his brother-in-law and wife, Norman and Sura Veta of Denver, Colorado; his nephews and their families, Mark Veta and Neal Veta; and his beloved dog, Trey Pierre. He was preceded in death by his in-laws, Ruth and Joseph Goldberg of Beatrice; his parents; and his sister, Elaine Sachs Veta. A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 8, 2011 at 1:30 P.M. at Wyuka cemetery in Lincoln, Nebraska. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be make to the Goldberg Memorial Scholarship Trust, % Pinnacle Bank, 523 Court Street, Beatrice, Nebraska 68310; Miami Valley Hospital Foundation, 31 Wyoming Street, Dayton, Ohio 45409-2793; or a charity of your choice.

Alfredo Guevara, Sr.
Alfredo Guevara Sr., age 68 of Lincoln. Died June 29, 2011. Born June 8, 1943 in Harlingen, Texas to Juan and Maria (Garcia) Guevara. Survivors include his wife: Eulalia Guevara of Lincoln. Sons: Gabriel, Alfredo Jr., Fernando, Jose and Cornelio. Daughter: Leticia. 13 Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren. Brothers: Humberto and Juan. Sisters: Josefina and Juanita. Services will be held at Wyuka Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, July 2, 2011 at 12 noon. Visitation will be at Wyuka Funeral Home on Friday, July 1, 2011 from 11:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. Interment will be at Wyuka cemetery. Memorials may be left for the family.

H. Irene Shadley
H. Irene Shadley age 90 of Lincoln, Nebraska went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at her home in Lincoln. She was the beloved mother of Karen Oldenburg and Donna Merk both of Lincoln. Irene was born in Lincoln to Joseph and Essie (Watson) Phillips on January 1, 1921. She attended Jackson High School in Uni Place. Irene spend most of her adult life, caring and working with her children. She was a member of the Capital City Christian Church. Irene is survived by her daughters and sons-in-laws, Karen and Elwin Oldenburg and Donna and Larry Merk all of Lincoln; step-children, Phyllis Lopez of Hawaii and Earl Shadley, Jr. of the Phillipines. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Shadley Sr., parents, brothers, Arthur, Albert and Richard Phillips, sisters, Ruth Talskey and Dorothy White. There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 1, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Fairview cemetery with Pastor Bill Thornton officiating. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery.

Leota Bennett
Leota Bennett passed away peacefully at Lancaster Manor in Lincoln on July 19, 2012 at the age of 101. She was one of seven children and was the beloved wife of Jerry Bennett. She will be forever remembered by her sons, Chuck and Jim, grandchildren, Jeff, Tim, Kim, Brenna and Kelly and great-grandchildren, Taylor, Clayton, Jessica, Samantha, Emma, Sarah, Calvin, Jared, Dawson, Tylyn, Brooklyn, Ellison, Abbey and Kenzie and many friends and family whom were blessed to know her. She and her husband spent their early years of life inAuburn, Humboldt, andFairbury,Nebraska. She worked at Bennett Clothiers and managed the Mode O Day shop in Fairbury. Leota was an active member of the Southeast Nebraska Amateur Radio Club, and supported her husband’s interest in Ham Radio as a member of the Lincoln Holiday Rambler Camper Club. Leota was an outstanding cook and loved to craft, garden and spend time with her family. She is preceded in death by her husband, daughter, parents, brothers and sisters. Memorials may be directed to the Leota Bennett Memorial, PO Box 67181, Lincoln,Nebraska 68506. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 23, 2012 from 12:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M at Wyuka Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home with Pastor Eddie Masters officiating. Burial will be in Wyuka cemetery.

Gerald (Red) Raymond Fitzwater
Gerald (Red) Raymond Fitzwater age 85 of Lincoln, Nebraska died on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 in Lincoln. He was born on June 17, 1927 in Kellerton, Iowa to Ernie and Grace (McClain) Fitzwater. Red owned and operated several full service gas stations, including Red's Skelly. He retired from Lincoln Public Schools. Red is survived by his son, Mitchell Fitzwater of Lincoln; son, Jim Sparks of Lincoln; daughter, Paula (Mike) Hardesty of Lincoln; great-granddaughter, Harley Hardesty. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Harley. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 23, 2012 from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home. The graveside service will be held on Monday, July 23, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at Wyuka cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.

Jessie A. Auman
Jessie A. Auman, age 73, Lincoln. Loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and caregiver to many, passed away July 17, 2012. Born November 30, 1939 in Tecumseh, Nebraska to Howard and Bertha (Gardner) Furrow. She is survived by her children, V-Etta Auman, Richard Auman, Jr. Mary Squires, Bonnie Price, Danny Auman, Sr. and Chad Auman, all of Lincoln. 17 Grandchildren, 12 Great grandchildren. Jessie is preceded in death by her parents, Sister: Joyce Furrow and Brother: George Furrow. Services will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. in Wyuka Funeral Home. Burial will be in Wyuka cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, July 20, 2012 from Noon until 8:00 P.M. The family will be present from 6:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home. Memorials may be left for the Parkinson's Foundation in Jessie' name.

Delores (Dee) Ann Meeske
Dee, age 65 of Lincoln, Nebraska died on Sunday, July 15, 2012, after a lengthy a courageous battle with cancer. Dee was born on October 17, 1946 in Lincoln, Nebraska, the daughter of Lester and Ruth (Hanau) Juilfs. She was baptized on November 28, 1946 and confirmed on March 26, 1961. The second of four children, she grew up on a farm east of Burr, Nebraska. She graduated from Syracuse High School in 1964 and began working at State Farm Insurance Co. She married Gary Meeske on May 27, 1972 and two children Jennifer and Brian were born to this union. Dee worked part time at the Lincoln Public Schools for a few years and at Carol Wright Gifts until their closing. She then returned to State Farm Insurance and worked there until her retirement. Family was very important to Dee. She treasured her time with all of them. She enjoyed making crafts, and she and Gary enjoyed the vacations they took together. She is survived by her husband Gary of 40 years, children and grandchildren, Jennifer, Scott, and William Creed, Lincoln, Nebraska and Brain, Natalie, Meg, Ashtyn, Mitchell and Graham Meeske of Omaha Nebraska, Mother, Ruth Juilfs, Lincoln and Sister Carol Tyler, Lincoln. Brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Lester, and her brothers Kenneth and Delton, father and mother-in-law Henry and Ada Meeske. No services – visitation will be Friday, July 20, 2012 from 12:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home with family visitation from 6:oo P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Private family burial at a later date at Fairview cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may directed to the family for later designation.
