Norman Reece Tucker
Norman R. Tucker, 64, of Lincoln was an Army Retired SPC4 Vietnam veteran born to (and preceded in death by) Mamie Jensen in Murfreesboro, TN, on June 22, 1948. Known to family and friends as selfless, generous and jocular, this brave man succumbed to cancer on Thursday July 12, 2012. His enjoyment of fishing, puttering in the garage, and completing (and sometimes repeating) home and mechanical projects at all hours for friends and family was exceeded only by his love for those friends and family. He is survived by family and many close and beloved friends including his wife of 42 years, Marilee Tucker; son Shane Tucker and his spouse Nichole; daughter Cheyanna Bucknell, her spouse Barry and their children Haley, Chase and Joseph; sister Marie Winfrey and her spouse Bob; brother Terry Jensen and his spouse Christine; brother James Jensen and his spouse Sherry; brother-in-law Allyn Parrott (husband of Norm’s predeceased sister Mary); and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his dad, Jim Jensen. A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 16 at 10:00 a.m. at Fellowship Community Church, 8601 Holdrege St. Military honors to follow at Wyuka cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals or the Special Olympics.  

David J. Douglass
David J. Douglass, age 65, of Lincoln died July 6, 2012. He was born November 3, 1946 in Lincoln to Everett J. and Mary V. (Raichart) Douglass. He was employed with Speedway Motors as a fiberglass fabricator. David was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Vietnam War. Survivors include his wife, Helen; Sons and Daughter-in-law: Adam Douglass, Jason and Karen Stinson, Joseph Stevens. Grandchildren: Jasmine Stinson, Fayth Stevens and Joseph Stevens, III. Brother and Sister-in-law: Rick and Barbara Douglass all of Lincoln. He was preceded in death by his son: Jason, Brother: Jim and his parents. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. in Wyuka Funeral Home Chapel. Interment of ashes will be at Wyuka cemetery. Memorials may be left for the family for a later designation.

Roberta Hazel Cody
Roberta Hazel Cody age 92 of Lincoln, Nebraska died on Monday, July 2, 2012 at Southlake Village in Lincoln. She was born on March 25, 1920 in Burchard, Nebraska to Miles and Hazel (Hart) Klein. She graduated from Burchard High School in 1937, attended Peru State College and Lincoln School of Commerce. Roberta served in the U.S. Navy Waves as a Yeoman First Class from 1944 to 1946. She married Donald R. Cody on April 16, 1950 at the Second Presbyterian Church in Lincoln. She worked as a secretary for State Farm from 1947 to 1954 and as an elementary secretary for Omaha Public Schools for 1969 to 1990. Roberta is survived by her husband, Donald of Lincoln; daughter, Dr. Carolyn Cody of Lincoln; sons, Douglas R. (Doreen) Cody of Minneapolis, MN; Gregory S. (Kelly) Cody of Lincoln; grandsons, Sean and Ryan Cody of Lincoln. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Ellis E. Klein; sister, Wilma E. Klein. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2012 from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home. Burial will be in Wyuka cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Burchard cemetery, c/o First National Bank, 110 Pawnee Street, Burchard, NE 68333      

Elizabeth “Betty” Hogue
Elizabeth “Betty” Jones Hogue, age 84, of Lincoln passed away Sunday, June 17, 2012 after a brief illness. Betty was born June 12, 1928 in Rhymney,Wales, UK to David Jones (Shirgaer) and Martha Rees. She was the youngest of their eight children. Betty was a war bride. At the young age of 17 (1945) she met and married an American GI Sargeant Richard A. Hogue who was stationed in Cardiff, South Wales. Richard’s career with the US Department of Agriculture Soil Conservation Service took them to many cities and states in the US. Betty was supportive and together they dedicated their lives to making a loving home for their six children in Iowa, New York, Virginia, and Nebraska. Betty was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. The family made many trips back to visit Wales, as Richard had promised Betty's father. The Welsh relatives are also mourning her loss. Through the years she kept the family history alive with her sharp memory and photo collection. Betty was generous almost to a fault. She was a wonderful friend and neighbor. Betty was involved in quilting groups, the Welsh Society, and the War Brides Club. She was a member of the Blue Dot Society & Diamond Club. She enjoyed crafting, music, & theater. Siblings Rachel, Frank, Sarah (Sal), Blodwen, Dan, Dave and Nancy all preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband of sixty six years, Richard. Betty is survived by her six children: Ronald (Sherry) Hogue, Beaumont, TX; Diana Hogue (Thomas Schur), Syracuse, NY; Pamela (Michael) Hurley, Raleigh, NC; Sandra (Fred )Duncan, Ada, OK; Karen (Kurtis) Suhr, Lincoln, NE; Sharon (Merv )Thompson, Birmingham, AL; thirteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. The family would like to express their great appreciation and gratitude to the Hogue’s neighbor and friend Dr. Michelle Manning. Also, thank you to Dr. David Rutz. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 22, 2012 from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Friday, June 22, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Wyuka Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.  

Lloyd V. Taylor
Lloyd V. Taylor, age 80, of Lincoln died Saturday, June 16, 2012 at home following a long illness. He was born to Harry and Minnie (Felton) Taylor on December 24, 1931 in Lincoln. Lloyd married Marlene V. Dick on March 23, 1949. They made their home in Lincoln. Lloyd worked at Donley Medical Supply, he was also the founder of Taylor Drain & Sewer. Lloyd later worked at and retired from Lincoln Public Schools. Lloyd enjoyed an active life of hunting and fishing. He took great pride in the apperance of his home and yard. Lloyd was well known for his love of food! He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marlene Taylor, son and daughter-in-law: Steve and Bea Taylor of Lincoln, three grand children: Julie Atkinson, Michelle Taylor and Matt Taylor all of Lincoln; four great grandchildren, Jordan and Garrett Atkinson, Alexa and Morgan Taylor all of Lincoln. Sister-in-law: Shirley Taylor. Many nieces and nephews, and faithful dog, 'Rusty'. Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Albert, Ralph and Leo, three sisters Mabel, Helen and Gladys. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. in Wyuka Funeral Home, Rosary services will be held on Monday, June 18, 2012 at 7:00 P.M. in Wyuka Funeral Home. Officiant: Fr. John Sullivan. Visitation will be Monday beginning at 5:00 P.M. in Wyuka Funeral Home. Interment will be at Wyuka cemetery. Memorials may be left to the Capitol Humane Society or a charity of your choice.

Stanley Maly, Jr.
Stanley Maly, Jr., age 90 of Lincoln, Nebraska passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2013. Stan was a World War II hero, and President of Capitol Supply Company. He was a huge Husker fan, and a loyal husband, father and friend. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Peggy. He will be forever missed by his four children, Ann and husband Wally Imig, Stanley III and wife Linda, George and wife Cindy, and Marsha and husband Michael Brito. He adored his seven grandchildren and always had a crisp dollar bill for each of his three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Church of the Holy Trinity, 6001 A Street, with Father Craig Gavin officiating. A reception will follow the service. Jacqueline M. Gottschall
Jacqueline M. Gottschall age 76 of Lincoln, Nebraska died on Thursday, January 10, 2013 after a long battle with cancer. She was born on July 22, 1936 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Carl Charles and Dorothy Irene (Scharton) Imig. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1954. Jacqueline married Edward Ray Gottschall on April 10, 1955, he preceded her in death on October 19, 2005. She was retired from the National Bank of Commerce. She was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church. Jacqueline is survived by her daughters, Diana Gottschall and Linda R. Holsclaw both of Lincoln; her son, Mark Gottschall of Dallas, Texas; 5 grandchildren; sister, Jean and Ernest Larkins of Lincoln. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 11, 2013 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Safarik officiating. Burial will be in Wyuka cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society, St. Jude's or Tabitha.

Walter W. Rinns
Walter Wolf Rinns, age 92, of Lincoln. Born Walter W. Rindsberg on September 5, 1920 in Germany, to Ferdinand and Erna (Blum) Rindsberg. Walter passed away on January 3, 2013. He met his wife, Ilse Bisson, in New York City, after they both immigrated to the United States. They were married for 54 years until her death in 2004. Walter moved to Lincoln from New York City in November of 2006 to be near his daughter Jennifer and son-in-law, Kent. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Kent Londre of Lincoln; Grandson and spouse, Justin and Flora Londre of Coto De Caza, California and their children, Savannah and Mason; Granddaughter and spouse, Kate and Jim King of Kenton, Delaware and their children, Elisabeth, Rebecca, Reaghan and Jameson; The Rinns name will live on with Reaghan Rinns King who took her great grandfathers last name as her middle name. Walter is also survived by his niece, Gaby Verheydt of Brussells, Belguim. Celebration of Life service was held January 5, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. in Wyuka Funeral Home, Lincoln, Nebraska. Entombment will be at the Sanctuary of Abraham and Sarah, New Cedar Park cemetery in Paramus, N.J. on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. with the Robert Schoem's Menorah Chapel funeral directors handling the services in Paramus. Anatoliy Adamovich Stepanov
Anatoliy Adamovich Stepanov age 70 of Lincoln, Nebraska died on Sunday, December 23, 2012 at his home in Lincoln. He was born on January 18, 1942 in Vladikavkaz, Russia. He is survived by his wife, Lidiya and his children and grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2012 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 28, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home. Burial will be in Wyuka cemetery.

Connie R. Yawn
Connie R. Yawn entered into heaven on December 15, 2012 after a long courageous battle with cancer, she was born on November 30, 1939. She was survived by sons Steve and Todd Yawn, daughter Tammy Yawn, all of Lincoln. Grandchildren Ashley Yawn, Jonas Sandifer, Dillon Yawn, and Nicolas Roan all of Lincoln. Brothers Galen(Loretta) Workman and Lary Workman of Lincoln. Sisters Rose(Melvin) Kiene, Patricia(Eugene) Meyer, Janice Hughes, Waunita(Mike) Gropp, and Janet Workman. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death by Glenn and Arlene Workman, husband Eugene, daughter Sondra, son Stacy , brothers Don, Robert, Gary, Jerry and Calvin Workman, sister Hazel Ernst. Services will be Wednesday December 19, 2012 at 10:30am at Wyuka Funeral Home. Viewing will be prior to the services from 9am to 10:30am, also at Wyuka. Memorials to the family.

John R. Wahl
John R. Wahl age 84 of Lincoln, Nebraska died on Tuesday, December 11, 2012. Loving husband and grandfather. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2012 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home. Burial will be in Wyuka cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.    

George V. Kolodziejski
George V. Kolodziejski, age 63 of Pleasant Dale, passed away December 2, 2012. He was a member of Good Shephard Lutheran Church. George joined the U.S. Army in 1969 and was involved in the Vietnam War, during which he received the Bronze Star for bravery and the Army Acheivement Medal. Survivors include his wife Charlene of Pleasant Dale; Son and daughter-in-law: Matthew and Emily Kolodziejski, and their children Mackenzie and Jacobey of Canton, Illinois. Son: Thomas John Kolodziejski and daughter Katarina Mae Kolodziejski both at home in Pleasant Dale. Sister and Brother-in-law: Patricia Ricci Mika and John Mika of Downers Grove, Illinois. Brothers-in-law and spouses: James and Nancy Portsche of Lincoln; Stan and Karen Portsche of Scottsdale, Arizona. Many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents and 2 infant sons, Alexander George Kolodziejski and Andrew James Kolodziejski. A memorial service will be held Thursday, December 6, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 3825 Wildbriar Ln. Lincoln. Graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:30 A.M. at Wyuka cemetery following the memorial service. Memorials to the Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS. 66675.

Austin Lee Allen
Austin Lee Allen age 60 of Lincoln, Nebraska died on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Tabitha in Lincoln. He was born on February 14, 1952 in Lincoln, Nebraska to William E. and Emma (Hamlin) Allen. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Austin was retired from the US Post Office where he was a mail handler from 1985 to 2000. He was a member of the VFW and had served as a chaplain. Austin is survived by his daughters, Rose Clauson of Lincoln; Michelle Allen of Lincoln; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Richard Allen of Lincoln; sister, Sharon Allen of Beatrice. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Violet S. (Griggs) Allen on November 27, 2010; son, Kenny Allen; sister, Pam Leforce. Cremation, no visitation. A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 3, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. William Hunter officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Fairview cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.

Paul M. Fitzwater
On November 25, 2012, at the age of 92, Paul went to be with his Lord and Savior and to join his wife Velma (nee Frederick), the love of his life for over 71 years. Paul was born in Beatrice, Nebraska on May 24, 1920 to Floyd and Nellie (McLain) Fitzwater. Paul honorably served his country in the Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theater. Paul and Velma owned and operated Mister Donut on O Street in Lincoln for 20 years. He also worked at Shopko for 18 years and retired at the age of 82. Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife, and daughter Shangra La Sherie Fitzwater. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law Marlene Fitzwater and Robert DeSaeger of Sacramento CA; Jeannette Fitzwater Brock and Allen Brock of Hartwell GA (where Paul lived since 2009); and Pamela Fitzwater (Avery Sanger) of Springfield MO; grandchildren Richard Nielson of Cottonwood UT, Kevin Young of Sandy UT, James Nielson of Lincoln CA, Paul Nielson of West Jordan UT, and Anisa Dawn of Springfield MO; 11 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. Paul will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him, but we all rejoice at his glorious reunion in Heaven. Services will be on Saturday, December 1 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wyuka Chapel, 3600 O Street, with Pastor Dale Fetter and Virgil Carner officiating. Special music will be provided by Jacque A. Fisher, beloved friend to the Fitzwater family. Burial will be at Evergreen cemetery in Beatrice with military honors. Pallbearers are Anisa Dawn, Mike Carnicle, Kevin Young, Richard Nielson, Paul Nielson and Noble Fisher, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Allen Brock, Robert DeSaeger, James Nielson, Fred Burklund, Noble Fisher, Sr., and Michelle Nielson-Hill. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Salvation Army or the Matt Talbot Community Kitchen & Outreach Center in Lincoln. Visitation will be Friday, November 30, 2012 from 7 p.m to 9 p.m. at Wyuka. A Memorial Service will be held in Hartwell GA at a later date at Cornerstone Baptist Church, where Paul was a member.

Emma Marguerite Sauvain
Emma was born July 6, 1913, to German from Russia immigrants Henry Wilhelm and Eva Kathryn (Mueller) Becker in Minden, Nebraska. Her mother died shortly after Emma's birth. Her father left her with neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. O.E. Barkley, and returned to Russia with Emma's older sister. Emma was adopted by and lived with the Barkleys until she was seven when Mrs. Barkley died of cancer. Emma then went to live with Sherman and Mae Coe on their homestead farm near Alma, Nebraska. Eventually she was reunited with her birth father and sister, but continued to live with the Coes. She was raised with the seven Coe children and remembered the Coe family with love and gratitude her whole life. Emma attended District #40 school and later Huntley Consolidated School, graduating in 1932. She attended Hastings Business College for a semester and then went to work at the Minden City Light office. She worked at Toy National Bank in Sioux City, Iowa for 13 years and at the Bankers Trust Company in Des Moines, Iowa. Emma married Arthur (Abe) Sauvain in 1936. They had two daughters. Emma and Abe lived in many towns and cities in Nebraska, Iowa and Wisconsin due to transfers by Abe's employer, Northern Natural Gas Company. Emma said her wealth was gathering friends along the way. She enjoyed playing bridge and doing crafts, especially making things for Christmas. Emma was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church, attending church and the Women's Circles wherever she lived. Emma was preceded in death by her three sets of parents, her husband, her sister Ida K. Ford, her Coe cousins, her daughter Sandra Lehmberg, and granddaughter Marcia Lehmberg. Emma is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Sonja and Henry Schneider, four grandsons Scott, Brett and Todd (Deusilene) Schneider, and Duff Lehmberg, one great grandson, three great granddaughters, and two great-great grandchildren. The family expresses thanks to HoriSun Hospice caregivers for helping Emma on her last journey. Graveside services will be held at Wyuka cemetery on November 20, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. Visitation will be held in Wyuka Funeral Home on November 20, 2012 from Noon until 1:30 P.M. Memorials may be left for HoriSun Hospice.

Richard D. Patterson
Richard D. Patterson, age 74 of Lincoln, died January 13, 2014. He was born December 1, 1939 in Clay Center, Kansas to Louis William and Lois Velma (Sumstine) Patterson. Worked as a civil engineer technician for the U.S. soil conservation. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, January 17th at Wyuka Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Friday, January 17th from 10:00 A.M. until service time at Wyuka Funeral Home.

Grace M. Martin
Grace M. Martin, age 53, of Beatrice, died January 14, 2014. She was born October 7, 1960 in Wyandotte, Michigan to Alfred B. and Bergitte (Christensen) Lang. Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Gailanne and Jeff Hindsley of Lincoln, Jessica Martin of Beatrice. Brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Trish Lang of Lincoln. Sister, Margaret Brown. Nephews and spouses, William and Jennifer Lang of Hutchinson, Kansas; Christopher Lang of Lincoln; Paul and Barbie Lang of Lincoln; Bryan and Katy Jones of Lincoln. Grandson, Alex. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. at the American Lutheran Church, 4200 Vine Street on Saturday, January 18, 2014. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 17th at Wyuka Funeral Home from Noon until 8:00 P.M. Family will be present from 6:00-7:00 P.M. Interment at Wyuka cemetery will be at a later date. Memorials to the family.
