Janice Elaine Bennetch age 64 of Lincoln, Nebraska died on Saturday, December 25, 2010 in Lincoln. She was born on September 13, 1946 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania to Russell and Catherine (Rupe) White. She worked at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital as an administrative secretary.
Janice is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Peter and Virginia White of Palmer, Alaska. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Russell White.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at Wyuka cemetery.
Burial will be in Wyuka cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital or a charity in Janices memory.

Valerie L. Marino
December 18, 2010
Valerie Lynn Marino, 60, Lincoln, succumbed to pancreatic cancer on Dec. 17, two weeks after her diagnosis on Dec. 3rd. She died in hospice in the presence of her daughter and sister. Valerie graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and over the course of her life lived and worked in California, Colorado, Massachusetts and Kansas. Her career spanned education, communications, television production, journalism and community activism. Most recently she served as communications specialist at Lincoln Public Schools. Valerie was a gifted performer and was in many productions at the Lincoln Community Playhouse. In the days before her death, friends and colleagues wrote letters and cards thanking her for her contributions. She was a treasured mentor to many, making a difference in the lives of young men and women throughout the country. She was a personable, free spirit who always gave 110% in life and was a rebel at heart.
She will be laid to rest this week with her family in Rapid City, SD. She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Mildred Brown; her mother, Shirley Marino and her brother, Scott Marino. She is survived by her father, Jeff and step-mom, Patty; her sister, Stephanie; step-sister, Kimberly; her daughter and son-in-law, McKenzie and Charles Barry; and her two beloved granddaughters, Parker and Larkin Barry. Private funeral services; memorial services pending. Memorials to Lincoln Childrens Zoo (a place her and her granddaughters loved to spend time together) and the Food Bank. These may be sent to Wyuka Funeral Home, 3600 O Street, Lincoln, NE. 68510.

Gary R. Clifford
December 15, 2010
Gary R. Clifford age 78 of Lincoln, Nebraska died on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at the Independence House in Lincoln. He was born on March 16, 1932 in Lincoln to Maurice P. and Ruth (Bobst) Clifford. After graduation from Lincoln Northeast High School, Gary proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean War aboard the aircraft carrier USS Philippine Sea. After returning to Lincoln, he married Susan Wilkinson on December 22, 1956. Gary attended Nebraska Wesleyan University and graduated in 1958. His career in the telephone industry spanned 45 years, beginning at the Lincoln Telephone Company in 1950 and ending in New Jersey where he was with the National Exchange Carrier Association from 1984 to 1995.
Gary and Sue retired to Lititz, PA where they lived for 15 years, before returning to Lincoln. He had a commitment over five decades to genealogy, researching his ancestors. He was passionate about his hobbies which included antiques, antique cars, wood working and metal crafting. He derived great joy from family, lifelong friends and pets. Gary was a member of the American Legion and VFW.
Gary is survived by his wife of 54 years, Susan of Lincoln; son, Scott Clifford of Ocala, Florida; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Steve Freche of Austin, Texas; granddaughters, Amanda and Lauren of Austin, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Bob Mook of Lincoln; brother-in-law, Charles LeRoy Seng of Lincoln; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tom and Beth Wilkinson of Chapin, South Carolina; beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister-in-law, Shirley Seng.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home.
Burial with military honors will be in Wyuka cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Alzheimers Association Great Plains Chapter, 1500 South 70th Street, Suite 201, Lincoln, NE 68506.

Reifert H. Will
December 13, 2010
Reifert Harold Will age 86 of Lincoln, Nebraska died on Sunday, December 12, 2010 in Lincoln. He was born on September 29, 1924 in Lincoln to Pietro Francesco and Molly (Loos) Will. He served in the US Navy during World War II from June 26, 1943 to May 2, 1946. Reifert married Mildred Ramel on June 7, 1950 in Lincoln. He was a maintenance supervisor for the Army National Guard of Nebraska, retiring in September of 1994 at the rank of Sergeant Major.
Reifert is survived by his wife, Millie of Lincoln; son, Gary Will of Lincoln; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Dona Will of Minneapolis, Minnesota; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Pam Will of Lincoln; grandchildren, Olivia, Adam, Geena, Ryan, Molly and Riley; sisters, Virginia Fiel of Salem, Oregon; Cecilia Sherman of Lincoln; Jane Kraft of Henderson, Nevada; brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Pauline Will of Lincoln. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Shirley Erickson; and a grandson, Barrett Will.
There will be no visitation.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home.
Burial with military honors will be in Wyuka cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to Eastmont Towers.

Warren Keith Jensen
January 3, 2011
Warren Keith Jensen age 83 of Lincoln, Nebraska died on Monday, January 3, 2011 in Lincoln. He was born on April 20, 1927 in Sioux City, Iowa to Kingo and Alverta (Midkiff) Jensen. During his youth he was a member of the Plum Grove Livestock 4-H Club and later was 4-H Club leader. Warren graduated from Homer High School in 1945 and served in the US Army from 1945 until 1946. He married Margie Georgesen on February 8, 1948. The couple farmed near Homer for many years. Warren also worked at Swift and Company for 29 years, retiring when the plant closed. He then worked part-time for Dave Jenkins on his farm until he retired at age 72. Warren was a lifelong member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Homer and served on the church council. After moving to Lincoln, he and Margie joined the Eastridge Presbyterian Church. Warren was a member of the Peersonian Dance Club for many years, an active member of the Homer Alumni Association and a member of the Dakota County Historical Society.
Warren is survived by his wife, Margie of Lincoln; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Rita Jensen of Juneau, Alaska; daughter and son-in-law, JoAnn and Gordon Longwell of Coeur D Alene, Idaho; daughter and son-in-law, Janelle and Lonnie Soderling of Lincoln; 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Clare Jensen of Sioux City, Iowa; brother and sister-in-law, Allan and Doris Jensen of Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Kerwin.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 7, 2010 from 9:00 A.M. until 10:30 A.M.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, January 7, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home.
Interment will be in Wyuka cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.

Frances P. (Lopresti) Heuer
February 28, 2011
Frances P. (Lopresti) Heuer, age 82 of Ravenna, Nebraska formerly of Lincoln, died February 26, 2011 in Kearney. Born May 3, 1928 in Palmer, Nebraska to Mike and Mabel (Beeman) Lopresti. Frances and her husband J. Burch Heuer owned and operated the Coast to Coast hardware store on 70th and A Street in Lincoln from the early 1970s until it closed in the late 1970s. Frances and Burch later retired to Ravenna, Nebraska.
Survivors include Daughters and Son-in-law: Elizabeth and Ron Restau of Lincoln; Cynthia Woodmancy of Omaha. Grandson and Spouse: Jim and Steph Restau of Lincoln; Granddaughter: Tonya Woodmancy of Omaha. 3 Great Grandchildren. Brother and Sister-in-law: Ted and Priscilla Lopresti of Leavenworth, Kansas. Preceded in death by her Husband: J. Burch Heuer, Daughter: Teresa Gould, Grandson: Benjamin Restau, Brother: Tom Lopresti and her parents.
Memorial services will be held at Wyuka Funeral Home on March 11, 2011 at 1:30 P.M.
Inurnment of ashes will be at Wyuka cemetery.
Memorials are to the family.

Lydia Alma (Petersen) Eley
February 24, 2011
Lydia Alma (Petersen) Eley, age 93 of Lincoln died February 23, 2011. She was born in Exeter, Nebraska on June 1, 1917 to Martin and Emma (Johnsen) Petersen. Lydia was united in marriage to Floyd Eley in 1946. They had no children. Lydia along side of her husband Floyd loved to hunt and fish, and was quite a dead shot with a gun. Together they would plant enormous gardens and would share most of the produce with neighbors, friends and family. Lydia worked at Russell Stover Candy Co. in Lincoln as a shift manager. She retired after thirty one years to take care of her husband Floyd when he became ill. Lydia was a beloved aunt and great aunt to 10 nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews. Some of the nieces remarked how they were fascinated by her ability to identify the filling inside a piece of Stover candy by the swirl on the top. Lydias hobbies were working in her garden, her first love, crocheting, embroidery and quilting to name a few.
Lydia was preceded in death by her parents Martin and Emma Petersen. One brother, Alvin Petersen, a sister-in-law, Gladys Petersen, Three brothers-in-law, Ed Eley, Gudmund (Pete) Petersen and Fred Delhay. Lydia is survived by her sister Lorraine Delhay, sister-in-law, Doris Eley Angell, several nieces and nephews, and numerous great nieces and nephews, and special friend Joy Harr.
Services will be held at Wyuka Funeral Home on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 10:00 A.M.
Burial will be at Wyuka cemetery.

Barbara Ann Garver
February 21, 2011
Barbara Ann Garver age 72 of Lincoln, Nebraska died on Monday, February 21, 2011 in Lincoln. She was born on November 8, 1938 in Fargo, North Dakota to Louis and Eleanor (Makovicka) Fiala. Barbara worked at State Farm Insurance for 28 years and then she worked part-time for 17 1/2 years for American Greetings.
Barbara is survived by her husband Robert of Lincoln; son and daughter-in-law, Robert II and Julie Garver of Lincoln; grandchildren, Marisa Nicole and Ryan Lee Garver; sister, Judie Rogers of Lincoln; 1 niece and 2 nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law, Billy Rogers.
Barbaras request was to have no public visitation or funeral service.
A private family graveside service will be held on Friday at Fairview cemetery.
Burial will be in Fairview cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.

Marvin R. Kelle
February 20, 2011
Marvin R. Kelle, age 87 of Lincoln. Died February 19, 2011. He was born July 28, 1924 in Crab Orchard, Nebraska to Robert and Dora M. (Weyers) Kelle. Marvin was in the Postal procurement department for the U.S. Postal Service for 37 years. He and his wife Doris loved to travel, especially in Arizona where they lived for 14 years.
Survivors include his wife: Doris Kelle of Lincoln, Son: Jerry Kelle and Daughter: Marilyn (Kelle) Wickham. Grandchildren: Molly Wickham Steimkemper and Cody Wickham. Great Grandchildren: Shane Steinkemper, Reese and Weston Wickham. Brother and Sister-in-law: Alvin and Maxine Kelle, Nephew and Spouse: Kevin and Karen Kelle. Step Sons and Spouses: Robert and Judi Bruner of Lincoln, Douglas and Carolyn Bruner of Fremont. Step Daughters and Spouse: Gloria Allen and Bill Whitlock of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Marilyn Bruner of North Bend. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be held at Wyuka Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at 2:00 P.M.
Visitation will be held at Wyuka Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 from Noon until 2:00 P.M.
Memorials may be given to the National Parkinson Foundation in Marvins name.
