Michael F. McKinney

Michael Frederick McKinney age 65 of Bellevue, Nebraska (formerly of Lincoln) died on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 in Omaha. He was born on February 1, 1946 in Lincoln to Waldo Elmer and Harriett Darlene (Eissler) McKinney. Michael served in the US Army during the Vietnam War from May 11, 1967 to February 9, 1976. He married Karen Kay Coolen on June 6, 1987 in Auburn, Nebraska, she preceded him in death on November 5, 2004. He worked for Pony Express as a courier. Michael enjoyed flying model airplanes and was a member of the Cobra Flying Field.
Michael is survived by his daughters, Shawnna and Kurt Bonner of Milford, NE; Lori and Kevin Johnson of Valley, NE; Tina and Mitch Kimball of Auburn, NE; Amber McKinney of Auburn, NE; 13 grandchildren; his sister, Patricia Ann Jacobs of Tacoma, WA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Karen, parents and in-laws.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 16, 2011 from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home
A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 16, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Wyuka cemetery.
Burial with military honors will be in Wyuka cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.

William Sanford Morgan
May 9, 2011
William Sanford Morgan, age 49, of Lincoln passed away May 6, 2011 in Lincoln. He was born on July 25, 1961 to Faye Nimic and the late Thomas Morgan.
Survived by mother, Faye Nimic and step-father, Bob Nimic; sister, Karin Lamkins and brother-in-law, R.G. Lamkins; daughter, Elizabeth Dunn; nephew, Scott Lamkins; grandchildren, Grace Dunn and Cooper Dunn.
Private family service. No visitation, cremation.

Dorothy Lobdell
March 4, 1930 - November 1, 2012
Dorothy Helen Lobdell, 82, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died November 1, 2012 in Lincoln, NE.
Dorothy Helen Lobdell was born on March 4, 1930 to Henry and Mary Margaret Weber Cler. She was baptized and confirmed at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Lexington. She moved to Scottsbluff and attended Grade School there. She then moved back to Lexington to finish her High School education. She worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company as an Operator for several years. She married Bruce Lobdell in 1950 and they farmed North of Cozad for several years. To this marriage there were three children born, Gary, Marlene and Sandi.
Dorothy was an active member of the American Lutheran Church in Gothenburg and she spent time volunteering at the Gothenburg Senior Citizen Center. She also belonged to the Red Hat Society. She loved quilting, crocheting, gardening and traveling. Bruce and Dorothy spent 13 years traveling throughout the United States after their retirement. Bruce and Dorothy were able to celebrate their 62nd Anniversary on September 30th.
She is survived by son Gary, daughters Marlene (Larry) Fiese and Sandi (Mike) Brown. Grandchildren Jason, Casey, Scott , Cameron, Torey, Hillary and Whitney. Step-Grandchildren Josh, Cassie and Chantel. Great-Grandchildren Bryce, Cyrus, Brady, Cash and Ava. Step-Great-Grandchildren Jada, Presley, Carter and Kennedy. Also Two Sisters, Mary Jacobs and Rosie Vlcek.
She was preceded in death by her Husband (Bruce), Daughter Lana, Brother Philip Cler, as well as 5 half-brothers and 10 half-sisters.
She will be missed by not only her family but also her many friends.
Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Sunday, November 4, 2012 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
Services will be held at American Lutheran Church, November 5, 2012 at 10:30 am with Lonna Grabenstein PMA, Pastor Tom Wilson officiating.
Interment will follow in the Fort McPherson National cemetery, Maxwell, Nebraska.
Memorials may be given to the Gothenburg Senior Center, 410 20th Street Gothenburg, NE 69138, or the American Lutheran Church Kitchen Fund, 1512 Ave. G, Gothenburg, NE 69138.
Burial: Monday November 5, 2012, 1:00 p.m. at Fort McPherson National cemetery

Dorothy E. Cramer
May 8, 2011
Dorothy E. Cramer, age 100 of Lincoln died May 8, 2011. Born on November 10, 1910 in Mound City, Missouri to Robert W. and Maggie L. (Carder) Long. Dorothy was a beauty operator for 30 years. Her hobbies included knitting, sewing, crocheting and making quilts. Dorothy loved spending time with her family especially the babies.
She is survived by her son Calvin West of Lincoln, Sisters: Betty Lou Johnson and Charlotte Mae. Grandchildren: Pam West and Scott West, 5 Great Grandchildren and 5 Great, Great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Dale Cramer, her sons, Scottie Dean, Royce Lynn, Alan Kent and her parents.
Services will be held at Wyuka Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be at Wyuka cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Wyuka Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 from 2:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
Memorials may be given to the family for a later designation.

Staff Sergeant Patrick D. Hamburger
August 18, 2011
Staff Sergeant Patrick D. Hamburger, 30, gave his life with 37 others in the service of his country on August 6, 2011, when their CH-47 Chinook helicopter was shot down in Wardak Province, Afghanistan. Pat lived in Grand Island, Nebraska with Candie Reagan, his future wife, and their daughters Veronica Reagan and Payton Hamburger. He was born in Sioux City, Iowa on Memorial Day, May 25, 1981, and moved to Lincoln, Nebraska in 1985 with his parents, Douglas Hamburger and Joyce Peck, and his brothers Michael Hamburger and Christopher Hamburger. He graduated from Lincoln Southeast High School in 1999.
Pat enlisted in the Army National Guard in 1998, when he was a junior in high school. He was employed as a plumber until 2008 when he became a full-time helicopter flight engineer with the National Guard in Grand Island. Pat met Candie in 2005, moved to Grand Island with her and Veronica in 2008, and welcomed Payton into the world on January 2009. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Pat was a mechanical genius who loved his country intensely. Ensuring the readiness of Chinooks and flying were passions.
Pat is survived by his girls, Candie Reagan, Veronica Reagan and Payton Hamburger, of Grand Island, Nebraska, mother and step-father, Joyce and DeLayne Peck of Lincoln, Nebraska, father and step-mother Douglas and Shaune Hamburger of Knoxville, Tennessee, brothers, Michael Hamburger of New York, New York and Christopher Hamburger of Saint Louis, Missouri, grandparents, Willard and Jacque Hamburger, of Omaha, Nebraska, step-siblings, Jessica Francis, Jeremy Francis and Joshua Francis, of Knoxville, Tennessee, and countless aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and brothers in arms. He was preceded in death by his maternal Grandparents, Edmond and Ruth George of Hampton, Nebraska.
Visitation for Pat will be held on Friday, August 19, 2011 between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at Wyuka cemetery, 3600 O Street, Lincoln, Nebraska. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Christ’s Place Church, 1111 Old Cheney Road, Lincoln, Nebraska. He will then be laid to rest at Wyuka cemetery, with a reception to follow at Christ’s Place Church.
Memorials are requested in lieu of flowers. The Patrick Hamburger Memorial Fund has been established at U.S. Bank. The fund is dedicated to the care and education of the most important people in his life, Candie, 30, Veronica, 13, and Payton, 2.
Pat would want to thank the friends and family that were with him along the way. He also would want us to pray for the safe return of his fellow Muleskinners, the men of the 2-135th General Support Aviation Battalion.
We love you so much, Pat, and are eternally grateful for the time that we had together. We will miss you and keep you forever in our hearts. We know your wonderful smile and generous heart will always fly high and brighten heaven’s skies forever.

Ralph William Hitz

Ralph William Hitz age 80 of Lincoln, Nebraska died on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at his home in Lincoln. He was born on September 8, 1930 in Denison, Iowa to Gustav and Edna (Greder) Hitz. He served in the US Army during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. Ralph was retired from Lincoln Steel.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Rose of Lincoln; son and daughter-in-law, Randall and JoAnne Hitz of York; son and daughter-in-law, Rustin and Kristi Hitz of Lincoln; daughter, Rochelle Hitz of Lincoln; grandsons, Ross and Reed Hitz of York; granddaughters, Alex and Marti Hitz of York; Karli Jo and Katie Hitz of Lincoln; sister, Mary Drbal of Lincoln; brothers, Gus, Bob and Dave Hitz of Lincoln. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Karl, Al, George and Art; sisters, Elsie Turner and Clara Simpson.
Cremation/no visitation.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, August 19, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Wyuka cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.

Timothy James Patterson
Timothy James Patterson age 59 of Raleigh, North Carolina died on Monday, August 15, 2011 in Lincoln. He was born on April 15, 1952 in Denver, Colorado to James and Marie (Hoffman) Patterson. He served in the US Navy and the Navy Reserve for 20 years. Timothy was retired from the US Postal Service. He was a loving son and husband and a wonderful father.
Timothy is survived by his wife, Cheryl of Raleigh; mother, Marie Wilson of Lincoln; daughter and son-in-law, Heather Patterson Meyer and Drew Meyer of Pasadena, California; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Melissa Patterson of Hebron, Nebraska; stepsons, George Eugene Dill, Shawn Michael Dill, Timothy Andrew Dill all of Murdock, Nebraska; 4 grandchildren, numerous friends and co-workers. He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Deborah Mitchell.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2011 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Rudge Chapel in Wyuka cemetery.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 19, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at Rudge Chapel in Wyuka cemetery.
Burial with military honors will be in Wyuka cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.

Dale E. Rice
Dale E. Rice, age 51 of Lincoln, died August 15th. Born December 18, 1959 in Iowa to Marvin and Lorene (Trullinger) Rice. Dale served in the U.S. Army and was employed as a tool and dye maker with Schneider electric, formerly Square D.
Survivors include his wife of 10 years, Brenda (Richards) Rice; Son: John Kelch of Columbus; Brothers and Sisters-in-law: Kyle and Kathy Rice of Lincoln, Steve and Becky Rice of Lincoln; Sister and Brother-in-law: Shari and Gary Stanley of Lincoln. Biological father: Marvin Rice; Step father: Carroll Huddle.
Services will be held at Wyuka Funeral Home on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at 11:00 A.M.
Visitation will be held at Wyuka Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 from 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
Memorials may be left for the Independance Center.
