Doris Aldridge
April 12, 2013
Doris Aldridge, age 88, of Lincoln, passed away on April 8, 2013. She was born January 29, 1925 in Syracuse, NE.
Doris attended school in Syracuse and college in Lincoln. She worked at Arrow Aircraft Factory in Lincoln during WWII. She married her husband, Clifford (Fort Smith, AR) in 1946. They moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 1947, where Doris was a homemaker, raising their eight children. They returned to Lincoln in 1961. After she was widowed, Doris worked for the Weatherization Program at Lincoln Action for 25 years. Doris enjoyed sitting in her flower garden, reading and watching the wildlife. She loved animals, and doted on her two cats. Doris was feisty, outspoken, and mischievous. She had a sassy sense of humor and loved to laugh; you couldnt help but laugh with her.
Doris is survived by eight children, Connie Schlegelmilch (Larry), Courtney Aldridge, Cameron Aldridge, Karen Carder (Ralph Cox), Kevin Aldridge (Sally), Kathi Cockrill (Scott), Kerry Aldridge, and Cliff Aldridge (Lisa); 24 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren. Doris is preceded in death by her husband Clifford, daughter-in-law Bonnie, granddaughter Celeste, and grandson Kevin Jr.
Celebration of Doris life will be held in Mississippi at her son Courtneys home, and this summer in Lincoln. Notice of the summer celebration will be published in the Celebrate Life section of the Lincoln Journal Star.

Parale Pat Elizabeth Williams
April 5, 2013
Parale Pat Elizabeth Williams age 82 of Lincoln, Nebraska died on Friday, April 5, 2013 at Southlake Village. She was born on May 31, 1930 in Beatrice, Nebraska to James H. and Clyda (Smith) Smith. Pat married Ronald D. Williams on August 26, 1946 in Marysville, Kansas. She worked at Elgin Watch Company in quality control, Williams Cleaners and Madonna for 12 years in food service. She was active in her church and with Meals on Wheels.
Pat is survived by her daughter, Linda and Marv Conaway of Lincoln; sons, Ronald L. Williams and Robert A. Williams both of Lincoln; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, James W. and Norma Smith of Manteca, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Ronald.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Southlake Village Chapel.
Private family interment will be in Fairview cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimers Association or the Capital City Humane Society.

JoAnn C. Bertrand
April 2, 2013
JoAnn C. Bertrand age 81 of Lincoln, Nebraska died on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at BryanLGH East. She was born on August 31, 1931 in Octavia, Iowa to Harold and Mary (Turner) Channel. JoAnn was a registered nurse and retired from Bryan Hospital.
JoAnn is survived by her daughters, Sheryl and James Park of Lincoln; Susan and Michael Bertrand-Martin of Omaha; Mary Jo and Al Stephens of LaVista; sons, Arvard and Roberta Bertrand of Palmer Lake, CO; Jeffrey Bertrand of Lincoln; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Gary and Bonnie Channel of Portland, OR. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister and 3 brothers.
Cremation, no visitation.
A memorial service is pending.
Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.

Betty Jean Frye
August 10, 2013
Betty Jean Frye age 86 of Lincoln, Nebraska passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2013 in Lincoln. She was born in Clinton, Missouri on May 1, 1927 to Bert and Dola (Williams) Omans. Betty was a homemaker and a stay at home mom to her four sons and she loved music and her pets.
Betty is survived by her children, Chuck and Ardess Connel; Bob and Sue Connel; Harry and Susan Frye; Jerry and Cindy Frye; many grandchildren; nieces; nephews; sister, Dorothy Martin of Little Rock, Arkansas; brother, Elmer Omans of Detroit, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenneth of 54 years, and her brother Marvin Omans who was killed in the Korean War.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Homestead Rehabilitation Center and St. Elizabeth Hospital for their support in Bettys final days.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Wyuka cemetery.
Burial will be in Wyuka cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.

Pauline P. Parke
Pauline P. Parke, age 92, of Lincoln went to be with the Lord Sunday, July 14, 2013. Widow of Eugene H. Parke, she was born January 29, 1921 in Ulysses, Nebraska to Con and Blanche (Jones) Edwards. Pauline was retired from the Nebraska Wesleyan University finance office. She was active in the United Methodist Women and held offices in district and conference levels. Pauline also belonged to the Women’s Wesleyan Educational Council and was treasurer for 14 years. She was a member of P.E.O. Chapter ES, the Sunflower Club and Bryan Board.
Pauline is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Patricia and George Riggs of Lincoln; son and daughter-in-law: Melvin and Carole Parke of Lincoln; 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 5 great, great grandchildren. Sisters, Ella Robinson of Douglas, Wyoming, Darlene Shrader of David City, Nebraska. Many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister: Marie Straw, brothers: Raymond and Clyde Edwards.
Pauline donated her body to the State of Nebraska Anatomical Board for the advancement of medical education and research.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, August 16, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Wyuka Funeral Home. No viewing or visitation, interment of her ashes will be held at Wyuka cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be directed, in Paulines name to the W.W.E.C. scholarship at Nebraska Wesleyan University, 5000 St. Paul Avenue, Lincoln, NE 68504.

William Bill L. Ziegelbein
William Bill Leon Ziegelbein of Lincoln, Nebraska died on August 8, 2013 near White River, South Dakota. He was born on October 29, 1968 in Central City, Nebraska to Kenneth William and Shirley Ann (Moeller) Ziegelbein. Bill attended Immanuel Lutheran School from Kindergarten through eighth grade and attended Polk High School where he graduated as Valedictorian of the class of 1987. He was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and Sunday School during those years. He played for the Nebraska Cornhuskers as a center from 1987 to 1991. He married Colleen Sue (White) Allick on May 27, 2011 in Lincoln. He worked as a mechanical engineer for Goodyear in Lincoln.
Bill is survived by his wife, Colleen of Lincoln; children, Tara, Sarah, Tony, Erin, Josiah, Hannah, Rebekah and Kalev; father, Kenneth Ziegelbein of Polk, Nebraska; brother, Lavern and Jean Marie of Union; sisters, Jean Ann and Michael Hergenroeder of Sterling, Virginia; Patricia and Robert Fuller of Dallas, Texas; Gale and Ralph Kerstens of Arlington, Texas; Karen and Bret Seipold of Hastings, Iowa; mother-in-law, Lynn White of Lincoln; sister-in-law, Lori White of Omaha; and brother-in-law, Brady White of Shenandoah, Iowa. Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley and his grandparents.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Wyuka Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 16, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, 1800 S. 84th Street, Lincoln, NE
Burial will be on Friday, August 16, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in Wyuka cemetery.
Memorials in lieu of flowers may be directed to the family for later designation.

Lori Sue Marcuson
Lori Sue Marcuson age 53 of Lincoln, Nebraska died at her home surrounded by her family on Friday, August 9, 2013. She was born on June 17, 1960 in Plattsburgh, New York to LaVern and Audrey (Luthi) Bechard. She worked for Wycliffe Bible Translators in translating and literacy development.
Lori is survived by her husband, Mark of Lincoln; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Emily Marcuson of Lincoln; son, Brad Marcuson of Lincoln; parents, LaVern and Audrey Bechard of Salina, Kansas; brother and sister-in-law, John and Bobsie Bechard of London, England; brother, Jeff Bechard of Beloit, Kansas; sister, Julie Bechard of Lincoln.
Cremation, no visitation.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Wyuka Funeral Home.
Private family interment will be in Wyuka cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.

Marjorie Ann (Estes) Culp
August 9, 2013
Marjorie Ann (Estes) Culp, age 85, died July 6, 2013 in Belmont, CA from complications of dementia. She was born April 17, 1928 in Omaha to E. Forrest & Sarah Blythe (McReynolds) Estes. The family moved to Lincoln when she was a child. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1946 and from the University of Nebraska with a degree in Elementary Education in 1950. She was active in Towne Club, Sigma Eta Chi, and was a Phi Beta Kappa. She was married to CDR Chester C Culp Jr (USN retired) in 1954 in Adak, AKin 1954. She especially enjoyed working with young children and was a kindergarten teacher. She took great pride in raising her family and liked to travel. She was a member of the Temple Chapter Order of the Eastern Star and the Nebraska Mayflower Society. As a military family she lived on both coasts and also overseas in France. She lived most recently in Chula Vista,CA from 1966 to 2010.
She is survived by children Michael (Shirley) of Centennial, CO; Chris of San Diego, CA; Anita of Albany, NY; and Patty of Oakland, CA; grandchildren Jennifer (Sean) Finerty, Janet (Eric) Redwine, David Culp, and Will Culp; great grandchild Conor Finerty; and sisters Betty (Woody) Brinkman of Lincoln and Barbara Laughlin of Omaha. She was preceded in death by husband Chester, parents, sister Dorothy Munson and brother Jim Estes.
A Memorial Service will be held on September 20, 2013 at 10:30 am at First Plymouth Congregational, followed by interment of ashes at Wyuka cemetery with her parents.
Memorials may be made to the Humane Society or Alzheimer’s Association.

Stella Louise Dodge
Stella Louise Dodge age 72 of Lincoln, Nebraska passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2013 in Lincoln surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on February 16, 1941 in Fowler Colorado to Earl Albert and Cleo LaVerne (Erhart) Beckett. She was raised in Overland Park, Kansas. As an adult, Stella lived in New Jersey and Massachusetts before spending 4o years in the San Francisco Bay Area. She moved to Lincoln in 2010, which she loved, to be near her daughters.
Stella loved animals and worked at Adobe Animal Health in Los Altos, California until she retired in 2008. She continued to pet sit until 2012. She was often heard saying that it took her 52 years to find what she loved to do in life and was lucky enough to find it.
Stella is survived by her son; Steven Paul and Elaine Stolte of Huntington, West Virginia; daughters; Dena Raye and Bradshaw J Hupp; Kara Lee and Timothy Kennedy both of Lincoln Nebraska; 9 grandchildren (including Cassie Lynn Stolte, who she was instrumental in raising, also of Lincoln); 9 great grandchildren; sister Chrystal Gann of Independence Missouri; brother Harold Beckett of Joplin, Missouri; Daughter-in-law Isis and Andy Jonnson of San Jose California. Stella was preceded in death by her parents; husband John Nelson Dodge; son William Brent Stolte and a daughter in infancy Shana Marie.
Cremation, no visitation.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be directed to the Capital Humane Society in Lincoln Nebraska, or the Humane Society in your home town.
