November 28, 2013
Shahdi Negahban, age 19, of Lincoln died November 26, 2013. She was born December 22, 1993 in Lincoln to Mehrdad Negahban and Setareh Makinejad. Shahdi was a 2012 graduate of Lincoln Southwest High School. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her parents, brother: Arman Negahban; grandparents: Abolghasem Makinejad and Soudabeh Ghaemmaghami. Uncles: Bahman Negahban, Babak Makkinejad, Babak Negahban, Barmak Makinejad, Daryush Negahban and Ali Sorouri. Aunts: Amy Floresta, Jonga Kwak, Sanya Avazpour, Shohreh Azadi, Mari Sorouri and Gundula Stoll. Cousins: Roshan, Azita, Aram, Omeed, Sirus, Mona, Michka, Nasrin, Pouya and Pourya. Also, her many friends.
Services will be held at 9:30 A.M. on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Wyuka Funeral Home. Interment will be at Lincoln Memorial Park following the service at Wyuka Funeral Home. The family will have a reception at their home following the services at the cemetery.

Willie L. Sturgis
November 27, 2013
Willie L. Sturgis, age 61, of Lincoln, died November 24, 2013. Born September 14, 1952 in Chicago, Illinois. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1952 to 1954.
Survivors include his children, Willie Sturgis and his wife Michell of Lincoln. Danielle Brown Sturgis of St. Louis, Missouri. Grandchildren, Daquan Sturgis, Anastasia Sturgis, Tatyana Sturgis and Trinyti Williams.
Services are pending.

Richard L. Rumbolz
November 26, 2013
Richard Leunis Rumbolz, age 83, was born in Lincoln, NE on November 21, 1930, the only child of Charles R. & Alice Marie (Van Es) Rumbolz. Dick graduated from Lincoln High School in 1948 and received his B.A. degree in business administration from the University of Nebraska in 1956. While at the University, he met Marion Deininger and they were married on June 7, 1958.
Dick served in the Army National Guard and worked for the Lincoln Gas Company and the March of Dimes. He also sold insurance and worked in travel sales. However, Dick’s true passion was his lifelong interest in all forms of transportation including railroads, streetcars and buses. He was an active member of both the Lincoln Railfans Club and the Camerail Club of Omaha. He was talented amateur photographer and specialized in photos and history of the Lincoln streetcar and bus systems. Many of his photos appeared in national publications.
Dick is credited with singlehandedly saving and storing the 5000+ Edholm-Blomgren photo collection which provides a priceless record of the history of Lincoln for the second half of the 20th century and which has led to publication of 3 books.
Dick was a past president of the Lincoln Jaycees and a longtime member of the Elks Lodge #80 and St. Paul United Methodist Church. He was creative in his love of history and will be missed by his many friends. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marion.
Memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2 at Wyuka Funeral Home, 3600 “O” Street, Lincoln 68510, with committal and military rites following at Wyuka cemetery. Rev. David Lux, St. Paul’s Methodist Church will be officiating. Memorial contributions may be sent to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 1144 “M” Street, Lincoln, NE 68508.

Frank Ayres
November 25, 2013
Frank Ayres, age 81, of Lincoln, died November 24, 2013. He was born June 17, 1932 in Murray, Nebraska to Emery and Mae (Hicks) Ayres. Frank served in the Korean War, 1952-1954, then went to work at Nebraska Prestress which later became Inland Concrete. He retired after 31 years of hard work. Frank enjoyed working on small engine equipment out of his garage. He also loved to fish in Alaska with life long friend and brother-in-law, friends and family in Nebraska City.
Survivors include best friend and companion of 29 years, Janice Gillaspy and granddaughter Kay-lee Buckley both of Lincoln. Daughter, Jodi Ayres of Lincoln; Brother and sister-in-law, Everette and Cheryl Ayres of Washington; Sisters and Brothers-in-law, Evelyn and Jim, Dorothy and John. 3 Grandchildren, Zack Ayres, Lilli Joe Ayres and Donna May Ayres all of Washington. Many grandchildren, step children of Oklahoma and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Randy Ayres, brother George Ayres, 2 sisters Pat Ayres and Ema Jean Ayres.
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, November 29th at Wyuka Funeral Home. Visitation will also be at Wyuka Funeral Home beginning at 9:00 A.M. on Friday, November 29th. Interment with military honors will be at Wyuka cemetery.

Stephan Steve Storonskij
November 11, 2013
Stephan Steve Storonskij, age 64 of Lincoln, passed away November 9, 2013. He was born October 14, 1949 in Liege, Belgium to Ihnat and Chrystyna (Hewka) Storonskij. Steve was a carpenter by trade and owned Woodcutter Custom Cabinets.
Survivors include his wife, Oksana Storonskij of Lincoln; Brother and Sister-in-law, Peter and Claudia Storonskij of Lincoln; Sister and Brother-in-law, Anna Marie and Dale Meskimen of Lincoln. 10 nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Tuesday, November 12th at 7:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Wyuka Funeral Home and Wednesday, November 13th at 10:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Wyuka Funeral Home.
Memorials may be left to the family for a later designation.

Harriet A. Hitt
November 4, 2013
Harriet Hitt, age 89 of Lincoln passed away November 2, 2013. She was born December 6, 1923 in Tabor, South Dakota to Charles and Harriet (Dugovic) Novotny.
Harriet is survived by her son Douglas W. Hitt and wife Judy, daughter Linda John McLaughlin and husband Thomas Michael McLaughlin. Grandchildren: Christine McGonigle and husband Miles, Michele Jeffres, Michael Hitt, Matthew John and wife Anne, Mark John and wife Kelly, Angie Tidball and husband Joseph. Great grandchildren, Mitchell McGonigle, Jacob McGonigle, Lauren Jeffres, Kylie John, Emma John, Allie John, Stella Tidball, Samuel Tidball, and Tyler John. Sister and Brother-in-law: Betty and Jim Holtdorf, Brother and sister-in-law: Clarence and Clyda Novotny. She is preceded in death by her husband Delbert W. Hitt and her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Wyuka Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 6th from 3:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with the family present from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home.
Interment will be at Wyuka cemetery.
Memorials to the family for a later designation.

Howard H. Wooten
December 18, 2013
Howard H Wooten, age 81, of Lincoln. Died December 13, 2013. He was born October 29, 1932 in Dorchester, Massachusetts to Howard and Kathleen (Phalen) Wooten Sr. Howard was a US Air Force and Navy veteran. During his lifetime he resided in Lincoln Nebraska where he worked as an independent contractor, Wooten Construction. He enjoyed traveling, painting and mosaics.
Survivors include his daughter and spouse Leann Wooten and Marc Wilson of Shorewood, Wisconsin, sons: Mark Wooten and Tom Wooten both of Lincoln. Preceded in death by wife Marlene (Alles) Wooten.
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 4, 2013 at Wyuka Funeral Home, 3600 O Street.
Inurnment will be at Wyuka cemetery.

LaVerna R. Vernie Donahoo
LaVerna R. Vernie Donahoo, age 71, of Lincoln, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2013 surrounded by her family. LaVerna, loving wife of Charles (married 51 years), was born April 23, 1942 in Lincoln to Joseph Sr. and Mary (Morris) Sharpnack. Vernie was an avid fan of Husker football, loved fishing, camping and spending time with her family and grandchildren. (She was, as well, and honorary Mother and Grandmother of more people than can be counted). She was a member of the Methodist church, Food Net volunteer of numerous years. She was retired from Vernies Child Care where she was a loving daycare provider.
Survivors include: Sons and daughters-in-law: Scott and Amy Donahoo, Steve and Melissa Donahoo all of Lincoln. Brothers and Sisters-in-law: Lee and Mary Sharpnack of Waverly, Joseph and Priscilla Sharpnack of Greenwood. Brothers-in-law and Spouses: Gary and Sue Donahoo, Kevin and Barbara Donahoo all of Lincoln. Mark and Shannon Donahoo of Glendale, Arizona, Gaylen and Traci Donahoo, Elwin Irish Donahoo all of Lincoln. Sister-in-law and Spouse: Carolyn Susie and Jimmy Watson of Lincoln. 8 Grandchildren, 2 Great grandchildren. Former daughters-in-law: Doreen and DiAnne. Many Nephews, nieces and friends including her best friend and roommate, Elizabeth (Lizzi) Rosenthall. Preceded in death by her husband Charles R. Chuck Donahoo, parents, Sisters: Marilyn Erickson and Betty Donahoo. Father-in-law and Mother-in-law: Charles and Rose Donahoo and sister-in-law: Cheryl Aden.
Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, December 20, 2013 at Wyuka Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2013 from 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home. Interment will be at Wyuka cemetery.
Pallbearers: Nathan Donahoo, Christopher Donahoo, Zachary Donahoo, Scott Donahoo, Jr., Jesse Howard and Brandon Howard. Honorary Pallbearers: Katie Donahoo, Krystal Donahoo, Mike Pleasant and Rick Robinson.

John H. Harrison
December 10, 2013
John Harrison, of Lincoln, originally of Abilene, TX, has passed away after a successful career and active retirement, volunteering at his church and other local organizations. He was devoted to his wife, family, and friends. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife Rita (Isaacson); children: Sean and wife Kimberly, Lisa Sillman and husband Todd, Jeff Spicka, and Cheryl Biesterfeld and husband Joe; ten grandchildren; sister Dorothy Wimberley and husband Paul; brother Charles and wife Lorna; mother-in-law Mae Isaacson; sister-in-law Adelyn Scripter and husband Jim; brother-in-law Ken Isaacson and wife Elberta; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 13, 2013 at Our Saviours Lutheran Church, 40th and C street. Interment will take place at Tecumseh cemetery, Texas.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Wyuka Funeral Home from 4:00 to 8:00 PM with the family present from 7:00-8:00 PM.
Memorials to The Feast Prison Ministry Program at Our Saviours Lutheran Church of Lincoln or the American Diabetes Association.

Carroll L. Huddle
December 8, 2013
Carroll L. Huddle, age 75, of Lincoln, passed away on December 7, 2013. He was born March 4, 1938 in Clarinda, Iowa to Raymond and Rhoda (Monzingo) Huddle.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law: Steve and Rebecca Rice, Kyle and Kathy Rice; daughter and son-in-law: Shari and Gary Stanley all of Lincoln. Sister: Evelyn Reynolds of Marshalltown, Iowa. 11 Grandchildren, 17 Great grandchildren. Nieces and Nephews. Carroll was preceded in death by his wife: Lorene (Trullinger) Huddle, son: Dale and his parents.
Services will be held 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Wyuka Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 11, 2013 from Noon until 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home. Burial of ashes will take place at Wyuka cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be given to the Rice family.
