Robert Warren DeMilt
May 18, 1953 - January 17, 2009
Robert Warren DeMilt, Sr., 55, of Gothenburg, NE, passed away Saturday, January, 17, 2009, at Gothenburg Memorial Hospital.
Robert was born to Clair and Marcedes ‘Susie’ (Hubbard) DeMilt on May 18, 1953, in North Platte. Robert attended school and later graduated from Brady. He received his Bachelors Degree in Education and an Associates Degree in Accounting.
He spent most of his childhood in Brady and then moved to Gothenburg. He spent the last 14 years in the McCook and Cambridge area and recently moved back to Gothenburg.
Robert married Patty Wing in Gothenburg in 1973. They were married for 20 years. He later married Cheryl Schultz in 1995 in North Platte.
Robert was a member of the Lions Club in Brady. He taught Sunday school in McCook, was a Mentor at the Evagelical Free Church in McCook, and was the Superintendent of Sunday school in McCook. Robert attended Faith Chapel in Gothenburg.
Robert loved music, cars and Celtic Basketball. He loved Rocky and Stephen Segal movies. He also collected Bibles.
Survivors include his daughter: Tamara and Robert Palmer of Brady, sons: Tobias DeMilt of Maxwell, Joseph and Becky DeMilt of Omaha, Joshua DeMilt of Tempe, AZ, and Daniel and Molly DeMilt of Kearney, his mother: Susie Hoaglund of Gothenburg, sisters: Barb Longsine of Gunthrie, OK and Pam Koss of North Platte, brothers: John and Monica Hoaglund of North Platte and Randy Hoaglund of Lincoln, and nine grandchildren.
Robert is preceded in death by a son: Robert Warren DeMilt, Jr., his father Clair DeMilt and grandmother, Ora Hubbard.
Visitation will be held from 9am to 11am at Faith Chapel in Gothenburg, on Tuesday, January 20, 2009.
Services will be 11am, Tuesday, January 20, 2009, at Faith Chapel in Gothenburg.
Burial will be at a later date.
Memorials are suggested to the family: 620 Tenth Street, Gothenburg, NE, 69138.

Lorin Clyde Wagner
September 18, 1942 - January 19, 2009
Lorin Wagner, 66 of Gothenburg died on January 19, 2009 at Gothenburg Memorial Hospital.
Lorin was born on September 18, 1942 to Clyde F. and Elinor F. (Kirstein) Wagner at Neligh, NE. He grew up at Neligh and attended country school there and also junior high. His family moved to Gothenburg in 1956 and he graduated from Gothenburg High school in 1961.
Lorin entered the Army on January 29, 1963 at Fort Hood and served in Okinawa. He was a paratrooper and a Green Beret. He served his country for 3 years.
Lorin married Carol Lee Holbein on December 2, 1978 in Gothenburg, NE.
He worked at Valley Sales as a Welding Tech and he worked for several area farmers: Keith Aden, Doug Block and Jim Aden. He enjoyed farming, cutting firewood, wood crafting, and working in the shop. In his younger years he enjoyed local dirt track racing; he was also involved in Cub Scouts with his three sons.
He was preceded in death by his parents Clyde & Elinor Wagner, and a nephew Damon Scarrow.
Survivors include his wife Carol of Gothenburg; three sons: Jason (Lisa) Wagner of Gothenburg; Michael (Tricia) Wagner of Gothenburg, and Mitchell Wagner of Benkelman; a brother Leon (Karen) Wagner of Neligh; two sisters: Gayleen Scarrow of Gothenburg, Melgene (Jerry) Patterson of Lexington; and 4 grandchildren: Jasmine, Sophie, Haley, and Payton. His extended family includes: Bryan and Peggy Wright and family of Dayton, OH; Randy and Serena Winter and family of Gothenburg.

Clyde P Kotschwar
April 27, 1924 - February 6, 2009
Clyde Philetus Kotschwar, 84, of Farnam, passed away Friday, February 6, 2009, at Gothenburg Memorial Hospital.
Clyde Philetus was born on April 27, 1924 to William and Viola (White) Kotschwar at Maywood, NE. He was the second of thirteen children. Clyde’s father died when he was only 16 years old, so Clyde had to work to help support the family.
Clyde married Doris Vickers on April 27, 1948. To this union four children were born: Rex, Kathaleen, Sheryl and Dennis.
Clyde and his brother Leon were partners in a trucking business in their early years. He continued trucking and farming throughout his entire working days. Clyde loved farming and his cattle. He could fix most anything with his pliers and a chunk of baling wire.
Clyde enjoyed playing baseball in his younger days and also umpired baseball games. On his 80th birthday Clyde was able to attend a Chicago Cubs game at Wrigley Field. He was a board member of the Farnam Senior Center. Clyde had many friends which he valued very much.
Clyde is survived by his two sons: Rex Kotschwar of Cozad and Dennis Kotschwar of Farnam, NE; two daughters: Sheryl (Steve) Brown of Council Bluffs, IA; and Kathaleen (Lonnie) McClellen of Ingham, NE: three brothers: Leon (Muriel) Kotschwar of Farnam, NE; Anton Kotschwar of Moorefield, NE; and Glen (Vickie) Kotschwar of Chadron, NE; five sisters: Gladys (Orville) Thrasher of San Bernardino, CA; Bettye Cross of Prineville, OR; Alice Fickenscher of Surprise, AZ; Mabel Conklin of Sterling, IL; and Jean (Ivan) Henderson of Lexington, NE; brother-in-law Tom Vickers; daughter-in-law Rosemary Kotschwar; twelve grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; and Numerous nieces and nephews.
Clyde is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Viola and Maxine, and two brothers: Stanley and Robert.

Irene Elsie Peek
October 24, 1918 - February 9, 2009
Irene Elsie Peek, age 90, of Cozad, Nebraska passed away February 9, 2009 in Cozad, Nebraska.
Irene was born October 24, 1918 in Gilead, Nebraska to William A. and Ellen Christine (Neeman) Rauckmann. She was the younger of two children.
Irene married Chester A. Peek on January 27, 1940 in Colby, Kansas. To this union two daughters were born, Goldie and Jeanie. The couple made their home in Goodland, Kansas until 1977 when they moved to Lexington, Nebraska to be near their children and grandchildren. Several years later they moved into the new Cozad Housing facility. Chet passed away in 1990. Irene lived there until moving into assisted living. In July of 2008 Irene moved into the Golden Living Center.
Irene was a member of the Cozad American Lutheran Church, the To Better You Club, and the 12th Street Birthday Club in Cozad. She enjoyed playing cards, and fishing with her husband Chet. Irene was a talented quilter and made numerous baby blankets for all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her brother George.
Irene is survived by her two daughters Goldie Souders of Parker, CO and Jean (Mike) Critchfield of Cozad, NE; grandchildren Mike Souders of Tullahoma, TN; Teri (Dale) Tipton of Parker, CO; Lisa (Kenard) Koetter and family: Ryan, Aaron, and Kody of Ellinwood, KS; Kelly (John) Peden and family: Nicole, Nathan, Zach, Savannah and Jaiden of Cozad, NE and Kristi (Tim) Daum and family: Alyson, Brenleigh and Andrew of Limon, CO. Irene is also survived by one great-great grandchild, Blake, son of Nicole Nelsen and Andrew Conroy.
Memorials are suggested to American Lutheran Church, Cozad, NE.
Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel of Gothenburg is in charge of all arrangements.

Grover G. Cole
November 24, 1920 - February 24, 2012
Grover G. Cole, 91, of Kinsley, KS; formally of Curtis died February 24, 2012 in Dodge City, KS.
Grover was born November 24, 1920 in Stockville, NE, to George Cleveland and Judith Mary(Bailey) Cole. He attend school in Stockville. Following school Grover served his country as an Army Air Corpsman. He received the American Theater Ribbon, A P T Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Ribbon.
Grover married Katherine J. Thompson on July 3, 1939 at Stockville, NE; to this union three children were born: Arthur, Larry and Georgia.
Grover worked as a Farmer / Aircraft Electrician.
Grover made their home in Kinsley, Kansas for the past 28 years.
Surviving are son, Arthur C. Cole of Owass, OK; son, Larry K. Cole of Spearville, KS; daughter, Georgia Linton of Prospect, KY; eight grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Visitation: Wednesday February 29, 2012, 9:00 a - 1:00 p at Blase-Wetzel-Strauser Memorial Chapel
Graveside Services: Wednesday February 29, 2012, 2:00 p at Fort McPherson National cemetery

Norris L. Ecklund
October 5, 1933 - March 6, 2012
Norris L. Ecklund, 78, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died March 6, 2012 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Kearney, NE.
Norris was born October 5, 1933 in Smithfield, NE, son of Carl and Osa (Butts) Ecklund. He grew up in Elwood, NE and graduated from Elwood High School in 1951. He attended the University of Nebraska and graduated in 1956 with a Bachelors in Education. He married Carole Timm of Eustis in 1956; to this union three children were born: Steve, Lisa and Scott. Carole preceded him in death in April 1986.
He served in the US Army from 1956 to 1958. After his discharge from the Army, he and his wife lived and taught school in Hildreth, NE from 1958-1963. He started working towards his Master’s Degree in Educational Administration at Kearney State College, graduating in 1966. He became the Junior High Principal in Cozad, NE until 1976. After leaving the school system, he was engaged in a farming operation with a brother-in-law, and also worked in the customer relations department of what was the O.A. Cooper Company, retiring in 1995. He married Roine Ballmer in 1994 and moved to Gothenburg NE. Since retiring, he helped part-time at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel. Norris was a member of the American Lutheran Church and sang in the men's choir. He was President of the Crest View Housing Board and was a Teammates Mentor. Norris enjoyed golfing, playing cards, going to his grandkids events, and cheering on the Huskers.
He is survived by his loving wife Roine Ecklund of Gothenburg, NE; two sons - Steve (Linda) Ecklund of Grand Island, NE; Scott (Robyn) Ecklund of Bartlesville, OK; daughter - Lisa (Matt) Wilson of Gothenburg, NE; 13 grandchildren: Jennye, Jayme & Julia Ecklund; Ashley (Brent) Knust, Ben, Nolan & Dane Wilson; Chantel, Eden, Britt, Elise, Elijah & Gabriel Ecklund; two step-sons - Mark (Holly) Ballmer of Gothenburg, NE; Alan (Jennifer) Ballmer of Gothenburg, NE; four-step grandchildren Luke & Brooke Ballmer, Alex & Alisha Ballmer; two great-grandchildren Dominic Howells & Landyn Broadway; two sisters - Berneice (Dayne) Smith of Littleton, CO; Berneita (Jim) Mitchell of Bozeman, MT; brother-in-law Ron Cutler of Elsie, NE; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Carole Ecklund; sister-in-law MonaLee Cutler, niece Julie Smiley.

Donald Nalley
November 3, 1966 - March 8, 2012
Donald "Donnie" Nalley, 47, of Bowman, ND, formally of Gothenburg died on March 8, 2012 at Medcenter One Hospital in Bismarck, ND.
Donnie was born November 3, 1964 in St. Joseph, MO; to William E. Sr. and Shirley Ann (James) Nalley. The Family moved to North Platte, NE where Donnie attended elementary and junior high. He graduated from Maxwell High School. Donnie participated in football, wrestling, track and baseball. Following high school he worked various construction jobs throughout the state. In 1991 he moved to Florida where he met his wife Jeannie. They were married on June 7, 1998. To this union one son Austin Ray was born. Donnie loved to spend time with Austin playing football or any outdoor activity. Donnie enjoyed listening to Hank Williams Jr., Johnny Cash and Van Halen. In 2009 they moved to Bowman, ND where Donnie was working on power lines.
Donnie could always be found with a smile on his face. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Donny is survived by his wife Jeannie; son Austin; father William E. Nalley, Sr. and stepmother Ruth; one sister Patricia Ann Roberts and her husband Frank; three brothers; William E. Nalley, Jr. and his wife Karen; Barry Eugene Nalley and his wife Linda; Raymond Lee Nalley; two step-sisters; Tammy Ueligger and Hope Green; two step-brothers David Buesing and his wife Tammy; Kevin Haney and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents; his mother Shirley, step father Robert Buesing and brother Richard Nalley.

Paula Abramson
March 15, 2012
Paula Jo Abramson, 47, of Gothenburg Nebraska passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney after a courageous battle with cancer.
Paula was born on December 10, 1964, the daughter of Gary Branson and JoAnn (Forbey) Branson in Calexico, California. She spent her early childhood in Southern California and Kansas before moving to Holdrege, Nebraska. She graduated from Holdrege High School in 1983. During her high school she participated in many school activities and spent time with dear friends that she kept until the time of her death.
She was united in marriage to Thomas J Abramson on June 21, 1985 at the United Methodist Church in Holdrege, Nebraska. To this union three children were born, Ashley Jo, Aaron Thomas and Alexandra Paige.
In the same year that they wed, the couple moved to Gothenburg where she worked for Southview Manor and Gothenburg Memorial Hospital before forming a partnership with her husband at Abramson & Associates Insurance Agency.
Paula's greatest life passion was being a wife and mother. She was her children's biggest fan and supported them through life's every activity. She enjoyed summers at the cabin at Johnson Lake and snow skiing while visiting family in Colorado. She cherished her time as a Teammates Mentor and was an active member of the Gothenburg Methodist Church. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends playing bunko and watching Husker football games. She will be remembered for her kind heart, warm smile and courageous spirit.
She was proceeded in death by her grandparents, Rainie L and Edith P Branson, Harry and Josie Forbey, Alfred J. and Gladys F. Cotton, and Irene Bocock. Stepfathers, Donald Couch and Wilson Parker; Cousins, Michael Branson and Sam Veale.
Survivors include: Her husband, Thomas J Abramson of Gothenburg; a son, Aaron T. Abramson; two daughters, Ashley J. and Alexandra P. of all Lincoln. Father and stepmother Gary and Alfreda Branson of Pottsboro, TX; Mother, JoAnn Parker of Gothenburg; Sisters, Sandy (Nick) Nicklasson of Pleasanton, NE and Karen Drake of Las Vegas, NV; Brother Wesley Parker of Cozad, NE. Parents-in-law, Evald and MaryLou Abramson of Holdrege, NE; sister-in-law Kay (Bryce) Exstrom of Fremont, NE; brother-in-law Mark Abramson of Holdrege, NE; Nieces Amanda Drake, Beth Abramson, Katelyn Exstrom and Rebeka Abramson, Mia Abramson; Uncle Larry (Dee) Branson and Auntie Phyllis Veale; Cousins, Glen (Debbie) Branson, Dana Branson, Jill (Barry) Veale-Broads, Jana Pearson, Sid (Debbie) Veale, Danny Branson along with a large extended loving family members and friends.
