Harold Jorgensen
Born: November 5, 1917 - Death: November 16, 2012
Harold Jorgensen, 95, of Curtis, Nebraska, passed away November 16, 2012 at Linden Court in North Platte, NE at the age of 95 years.
Harold was born November 5, 1917 in Curtis, NE; to Jorgen Peter and Anna (Jepsen) Jorgensen.
Harold attended school in Curtis graduating from UNSTA High School in 1936. Following high school Harold entered the US Army attending Officers Training School and then served his country from 1941 to 1945 in WWII earning a purple heart after he was wounded in combat. Following his service to his country as a 2nd Lieutenant he returned to the Curtis area where he farmed and ranched.
Harold married Margaret Johnson on August 1, 1942 at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
Harold's life was a tribute to his faith in God. He taught adult Sunday school and served as a Lay Minister . He also served on the church board in many capacities at both Ebenezer Lutheran Church and St. Johns Lutheran Church.
His family was the joy of his life which was demonstrated through his deep and unconditional love. He was a loyal neighbor and friend. He looked at his farm and cattle as pleasure rather than work, regularly taking enjoyable drives through pastures and fields with family and neighborhood friends.
He was an active member of the American Legion, Nebraska Beef Council, National Cattleman's Association, the Toastmasters Association and Lions club. He served on several boards including Curtis Co-Op, Farm Bureau, Board of Education, the Board of Elections, and the Curtis Telephone Co. Harold was also active in the Young Farmer Veteran organization and 4-H, where he served as the leader for many years.
He is survived by his son, Richard (Sharon) Jorgensen of Curtis, NE; his daughters: Ann Jeanette (Jim) Deidel of North Platte, NE; Gwen Nickerson of Curtis, NE; and Diane Walsh of Cozad, NE; grandsons: Mark (Lanis) Jorgensen, Matt (Trisha) Jorgensen, Steve Strawn, John (Susan) Robinson Jeff (Kathy) Robinson, Darren (Jennifer) Robinson, Tim (Danelle) Nickerson, Ryan Walsh; and, granddaughters: Lori (Mike) Mortensen, Amy (Brandon) Jahnke, Angela (Cory) Nida, Mary (Shawn) Overton, Stacie (Kevin) Owens; 22 great-grandchildren; brother, Loren (Lorraine) of North Platte, NE; his sister Erma Taylor of Casper, WY; and a host of other family and friends.
Harold was preceded in death by wife, Margaret Jorgensen, his parents, his brother, Vern Jorgensen, grandson Steven Jorgensen, and son-in-law, Joe Nickerson.He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed by all.
Visitation will be held at Blase-Wetzel-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Curtis, Nebraska; Tuesday, November 20, 2012 1:00 pm - 8:00 pm with the family present from 5-7 pm.
Services will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church - Curtis, November 21, 2012 at 11:00 am with Rev. Derrick Brown officiating.
Interment will follow in the Curtis cemetery, Curtis, NE.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed by all.
Memorials may be given to the St. John's Lutheran Church, PO Box 64, Curtis, NE 69025 or Senior Living Choices, 217 Crook Ave, Curtis, NE 69025.

M. Phyllis Rimpley
July 12, 1933 - November 25, 2012
Mary Phyllis Rimpley, 79, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died November 25, 2012 at Gothenburg Memorial Hospital in Gothenburg, NE.
She was born July 12, 1933 in Ogallala, NE, daughter of Phil and Loretta K (Erthum) Gaudreault.
Phyllis grew up in Gothenburg and graduated from Gothenburg High in 1952. She lived in Cozad, Lexington and Gothenburg. On May 28, 1955, she married Clayton "Rimp" Rimpley in North Platte, NE. To this union, three sons were born - Kirk, Kevin and Kyle. Phyllis worked as a Mary Kay representative and as a physical therapist aide. She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church and the Altar Society; DCCW Parish representative at all levels; and Catholic Encounters in Christ, and was also a member of the Red Hatters. Phyllis loved her family. She enjoyed cooking and traveling. Some of her travels included Iceland, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Hawaii and throughout the US.
Survivors include her three sons - Kirk Rimpley of Auburn, WA; Kevin (Pam) Rimpley of Kearney, NE; Kyle (Tina) Rimpley of Cozad, NE; three grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, two sisters - Marjorie Ballard of Gothenburg, NE; Kay Beardsley of Sterling, CO; three brothers - Daniel (Barbara) Gaudreault of Elizabeth, CO; Nick Gaudreault of Sterling, CO; Ted (Diane) Gaudreault of Gothenburg, NE; sister-in-law - Bobbi Gaudreault of Gothenburg, NE; along with many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Phyllis was preceded in death by husband, Clayton "Rimp" Rimpley; parents Phil and Loretta Gaudreault; brothers, Dave Gaudreault, Terry Hastings; sister, LaRae Gaudreault; brothers-in-law, Lee Beardsley, Milton Ross and Delbert Ballard.
Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Thursday, November 29, 2012 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.
Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m.on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 1915 Ave J, Gothenburg, NE
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 1915 Ave J, Gothenburg, on Friday, November 30, 2012 at 10:30 am with Father Don O'Brien officiating.
Interment will follow in the Gothenburg cemetery.

Lorraine Regina Jorgensen
August 31, 1929 - December 21, 2012
Lorraine Regina Jorgensen, 83, of North Platte formerly of Curtis, NE, died December 21, 2012 at Linden Court in North Platte.
Lorraine was born on August 31, 1929 in St. Louis, MO to William and Mary "Mame" (Oetzel) Stohlmann. At the age of 14 she moved with her family to Los Angles, CA. She attended high school at North Hollywood High School graduating in 1946.
On October 4, 1952 Lorraine married Loren R. Jorgensen at Burbank, CA. To this union three children were born: Mike, Bill and Sue. In 1954 the couple moved to Curtis were they spend the next 56 years. In 2010 they moved to Linden Court in North Platte.
Lorraine worked various clerical /accounting jobs for KN Energy, Curtis Medical Clinic and the Frontier County Court House.
Lorraine was a member of a bridge club, enjoyed playing pinnocle and involved in the Curtis Easter Pageant for many years. She enjoyed watching cardinal birds and was also a big St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. Lorraine enjoyed playing cards and would always want to play "just one more hand". She also enjoyed bingo and singing.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years Loren R. Jorgensen of North Platte, NE; two sons Mike (Julie) Jorgensen of Lincoln, NE; and Bill (Tracey) Jorgensen of Lewellen, NE; one daughter Sue (Tom) Garner of Lincoln, NE; seven grandchildren: Lisa (Nick) Jorgensen-Hurm, Vicki (Bryon) Belding, Jon (Tiffany) Jorgensen, Sara (Christopher) Vincent, Mary Jorgensen, Brandon (Rachael) Garner and Lauren Garner; three great-grandchildren: Greyson and Evan Belding and Ira Jorgensen; one sister Bernice (Jack) Theiss of Myrtle Creek, OR; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers William "Bud" Stohlmann and Norbert "Shorty" Stohlmann.
Visitation will be held at Blase-Wetzel-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Curtis, Nebraska; Wednesday, December 26, 2012 1:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
Services will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church, 504 Wallace, Curtis, NE; December 27, 2012 at 10:30 am with Rev. Derrick Brown officiating.
Interment will follow in the Curtis cemetery, Curtis, Nebraska.
Memorials may be given to the St. John's Lutheran Church, 504 Wallace, Curtis, NE 69025.

Alice May Boyd
February 18, 1929 - December 26, 2012
Alice May Boyd, 83, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died December 26, 2012 at Stone Hearth Estates in Gothenburg, NE.
She was born February 18, 1929 in Gothenburg, NE, daughter of Jurgen and Minnie (Heuer) Heidebrink.
Alice graduated from Gothenburg High School in 1946. She married Frank Boyd on November 9, 1947. They lived and worked in Lexington until March 1, 1949 when they moved to her family farm north of Gothenburg. They made their home on the farm for 60 years until they moved into town to live at Stone Hearth Estates.
Alice attended St. John's Lutheran Church then later the American Lutheran Church. She belonged to the Hanna Circle. She and her husband enjoyed getting together with family and enjoyed square dancing.
Survivors include four sons: Robert (Lisa) Boyd of Hastings, David (Cynthia) Boyd of Lexington, Thomas (Janet) Boyd of Overton, Douglas (Mimi Schneider) Boyd of Lincoln; grandchildren: Nichole (Erik) Wetjen, Leilani Boyd, Zachary Boyd, Sarah (Cesar) Hernandez, Matthew (Sara) Boyd, Shawn (Kendra) Boyd; 13 great grandchildren
Alice was preceded in death by husband, Frank F Boyd, great grandson, Cain, her parents Jurgen and Minnie Heidebrink, four brothers - Earl, Walter, Lester, and Marvin Heidebrink, two sisters, Alma Heidebrink and Vera Geiken.
Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Tuesday, January 1, 2013 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
Funeral Services will be held at American Lutheran Church, January 2, 2013 at 10:30 am with Pastor Tom Wilson officiating.
Interment will follow in the Gothenburg cemetery, Gothenburg, Nebraska.

Beverly Mercer-Porter
June 8, 1950 - December 4, 2012
Beverly "Bev" Lynn Mercer-Porter, 62, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died December 4, 2012 at the Gothenburg Hospital in Gothenburg, NE.
She was born June 18, 1950 in North Platte, NE, daughter of LeRoy and Eunice (Bennett) Holliday.
Bev lived with her family in North Platte until she was 12. She then lived in Toronto, Canada for 5 years before moving to Cozad. Bev worked as a secretary for many years. From 1980 to 1995, she lived in the Central City and Grand Island area where she got her accounting degree. While in Grand Island she worked at the Nebraska Vet's Home. She move to Arizona in 1995 to care for her parents. While in Arizona she worked with juveniles at Vision Quest. She moved to Gothenburg in 2004. Bev loved to go dancing. She loved to be with her grandkids and support them in all of their activities. She enjoyed attending church when she was feeling well. She also enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include her daughter - Shaun (James) Stevens of Gothenburg; three sons - Steve (Mellany) Mercer of Gothenburg, Duane Mercer of Cozad, Ryan (Nicole) Mercer of Gothenburg; 19 grandchildren;13 great grandchildren; brother - Roger (Deb) Holliday of McNeil, AZ; three sisters - Barbara (Dave) Dishman of North Plate, Judy Krajewski of Ogallala, Loretta Poole of Toronto, Canada; along with extended family and friends.
Beverly was preceded in death by mother and dad Robert and Eunice Poole; her father, LeRoy Holliday; grandmothers, Nora Holliday and Edna Bennett; and an infant brother Ronald Wayne.
Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Friday, December 07, 2012 9:00 am - 8:00 pm; with the family present from 5-7.
Funeral Services will be held at Victory Assembly of God, 2611 Lake Ave, Gothenburg NE, Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 10:00 am with Pastor Mark Borchardt officiating.
Interment will follow in the Gaslin cemetery, Brady, Nebraska.
Memorials may be given to the Victory Assembly of God, 2611 Lake Ave, Gothenburg, NE 69138.

Cliff Wear
March 27, 1941 - December 8, 2012
Clifford Wear, 71, of Eustis, Nebraska, died December 8, 2012 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, NE.
He was born March 27, 1941 in Maywood, NE to Alfred W. and Helen (Flock) Wear.
Cliff was raised in Farnam and Elsie graduating from Elsie High School. On March 2, 1965, he married Sandra K. Hinds in Lexington, NE. To this union two children were born; Amber Dawn and Brandon Lee. Cliff and Sandy made there home in Eustis where they still live today.
Clifford worked as a semi truck driver for All Points Cooperative in Cozad until 2011.
Cliff was a active member of AA in which he had been active in for over 32 years. He was also a volunteer for the Eustis Fire and rescue for many years. Cliff enjoyed being outdoors both fishing and camping.
Cliff is survived by his wife Sandra Wear of Eustis; son Brandon (Amber) Wear of Glenwood, IA; daughter Amber Wear of Cozad; three grandchildren Lillian, August and Sky; Brothers and sisters-in-law Dave and Sharon Kathman, Warren and Linda Smith, Jack and Betty Hinds, Kenny and Mary Lou Hinds; and a host of other family and friends.
Clifford was preceded in death by his parents Alfred W. and Helen Wear, his brother Clinton and his In-Laws Orville and Bernita Hinds.
Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Tuesday, December 11, 2012 1:00 pm - 8:00 pm with the family present from 5-7 pm.
Memorial Services will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church - Eustis, December 13, 2012 at 11:00 am with Pastor Beverly Rautenberg-Panko and Pastor Neil Kloppenborg officiating.
Inurnment will follow in the Eustis East cemetery, Eustis, NE.
Memorials may be given to the Eustis Fire and Rescue P. O. Box 91, Eustis Ne, 69028 or to Valley Hope for sponsorship, 7703 Serum Ave, Omaha, NE 68127.

Dorothy M Wright
July 25, 2012 - December 27, 2012
Dorothy Margaret Wright, 92, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died December 27, 2012 at Gothenburg Memorial Hospital in Gothenburg, NE.
She was born July 25, 1920 in Gothenburg, NE, daughter of Pete and Emma (Poggendorf) Jobman.
Dorothy was baptized and confirmed at the Zion Lutheran Church. She graduated from Gothenburg High School with the class of 1938. In 1939 she left with her brother Paul to join her brother Alfred in Los Angeles. She spent from 1939 to 1983 on the West Coast from San Diego to the Cascades of Washington. She worked in restaurants all of her life, starting at Otto's Lunch during her school years. She finished with Gary at Pete's working part time and she loved every minute of it. Dorothy married Stan Wright on November 24, 1951.
She is survived by her brother, Lester (Francis) Jobman, nephew, Terry (Nancy) Jobman, nieces Renee Cordova, Heidi Jobman and Charlotte Jobman, great nieces & nephews Andy & Becky Jobman, David Jobman, Erin Jobman, Christopher Morris, and Erica Jobman; and brother-in-law Orvin (Shirley) Stevens.
Dorothy was preceded in death by husband, Stanley Wright; parents; two brothers, Paul and Alfred Jobman; sister, Lorene Stevens; two nephews Harlan Stevens and Matt Jobman,a niece Bonnie Meier and great niece Susan Elizabeth Jobman.
Register book signing will be held from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm, Friday, December 28, 2012 at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, NE.
Memorial services will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, December 29, 2012 at 10:30 am with Pastor Larry Viter officiating.
Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Zion Lutheran cemetery, Gothenburg, Nebraska.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the charity of your choice.
