Visitation: 2-8 p.m. Sunday at Metcalf Funeral Services, 245 N. 27th St., Lincoln.
Service: 10:00 a.m. Monday, (10/4/04) at First Evangelical Covenant Church, 6040 L St.
Family Gathering: Family will greet friends from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
cemetery: Bethlehem Covenant cemetery, rural Waverly.
Memorials: First Evangelical Covenant Church-Youth Ministry, 6040 LSt., Lincoln 68510; or PSPStipend Fund, University of Nebraska Foundation.
Family includes: husband, Jack; daughter, Allison Marie; son, Michael Bruce; mother, Thelma Radenslaben, Lincoln; brother, sister-in-law, Raleigh and Ruth Radenslaben, Lincoln; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by father.

Melvin V. Wilkins
99, Lincoln, widower of Stella E., died Saturday (9/4/04) in Omaha. Born, Brock. Member, East Lincoln Christian Church. U.S. Navy veteran.
Visitation: No visitation.
Service: Graveside service: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, (9/09/04) at Wyuka cemetery, 3600 'O' St.
Memorials: To the family.
Family includes: son, Darrel, Mineral Bluffs, Ga.; daughters, Helen Brown, Omaha, Vera Waldron, Lees Summit, Mo., Jan McCartney, Lincoln; 16 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; brother, Donald, Omaha; nieces; nephews.

Melvin A. Drewes
Melvin Drewes, 65, of Lincoln, died Monday, March 9, 2009. Melvin was born February 26, 1944 in Beatrice, NE to Harvey & Dorothy (Edwards) Drewes. He was raised here in Lincoln, NE where he then went to work for the City of Lincoln Public works and Utility department for 40 years, just before retiring February 2009. He courageously has battled two different forms of cancer and beat them both before the Lord called him home. Melvin Loved deer hunting, fishing, nascar racing, and husker football.
Visitation: . Visitation: 2-8 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2009 at the funeral home.
Service: Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2009 at Metcalf Funeral Home Chapel, 245 North 27th Street, Lincoln.
cemetery: Burial will be at Lincoln Memorial Park.
Memorials: Memorials may by given to the family.
Family Includes: Sisters, Connie Decker, Sharon Hall, both of Lincoln, Sandra Hollingsworth, Dunedin, FL; brother-in-law, Robert Leech, Lincoln; special friend, Bobbi Owen, Lincoln; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Lou Leech; brother, Terry Drewes.

David J. Kortus, Jr., 46, of Lincoln, died Monday, March 9, 2009. He was born June 9, 1962 in Munich, Germany, to David J. & Carol J. (Robb) Kortus, Sr.

D. L. “Whitey” Burklund
D. L. “Whitey” Burklund, 71, Gothenburg, NE, died Monday (3/30/09). Born 1/14/38 in Ceresco to John and Evangeline (Landstrom) Burklund. Graduate of Ceresco High and University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Former teacher/coach at several NE schools, Harvestore salesman, cattle feeder, oil industry worker in AK, rancher, and real estate investor. Married to Sharon Taft on 10/23/60. Whitey had a passion for the Sandhills of Nebraska which was surpassed only by his love of family and countless friends. He was an avid sports fan and left an impression on all those whom he coached. Whitey’s spirited character, optimism, and unforgettable smile touched the lives of many.
Visitation: Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 PM, Thursday and 9:00 AM until service time on Friday at the church.
Service: Funeral services to be held 2:00 PM, Friday, April 3, 2009 at the Ceresco United Methodist Church. Pastor Chuck Rager, officiating.

Preceded in death by father John, brother, Kenneth, and twin daughters Debra Ann and Lora Lynn.

Michael W. Lemond
Michael W. Lemond, 62, of Lincoln, died Wednesday, April 8, 2009. He was born June 10, 1946 in Lincoln, NE to Donald & Mae (Womack) Lemond. He was employed full time at Home Depot in Lincoln, in addition to operating his own business, Lemond Tile Inc. He was an avid outdoorsman, with a passion, for flowers and gardening.
Visitation: Cremation/ no visitation.
Service: Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 18, 2008 at Metcalf Funeral Home, 245 North 27th Street, Lincoln, NE.
Family Includes: Beloved, Kathleen Douglass, Lincoln; sisters, Susan R. Rouch, Jackie D. Lemond, both of Lincoln; 11 nieces and nephews; 10great nieces and nephews; two dogs, Buddy and Ginger.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Donna M. Lemond-Dunn; great nephew, Dallas Lee Dunn.

Ermal Liesveld
Ermal Liesveld, 89, of Firth, died Wednesday, April 8, 2009. Mrs. Liesveld was born November 24, 1919 near Firth to Henry J.W. & Della (Ten Hulzen) Prange. She was retired from the labeling department of Sandoz Pharmaceuticals. She was a member of the Firth Reformed Church in Firth. An avid card player, she was a member of various Firth card clubs and the Retirees Club. She was known for having a green thumb with her plants.
Visitation: Visitation: 2-8 p.m., Sunday, April 12, 2009 at Metcalf Funeral Home in Firth, with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m.
Service: Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 13, 2009, at the Firth Reformed Church, 607 Russell, Firth, with Pastor John Garbison officiating.
cemetery: Burial will be in the Holland cemetery.
Memorials: Memorials may be given to the Firth Reformed Church, 607 Russell, Firth, NE 68358.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil and daughter, Nancy.

Preceded in death by wives, Etta, Jessie, 2 brothers, 1 sister, and 3 great-grandchildren.
