Mary Popken
The funeral for Mary Jo Popken, 55, of Hooper will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper.
She died Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, at Fremont Area Medical Center.
She was born June 17, 1949, in Fremont. She lived in Hooper until 1958 when she came to Fremont. She lived in Fremont until 1990 when she moved back to Hooper. She worked for Elkhorn Valley Co-op from 1991-99. She had been working for Monke Brothers Fertilizer in Fontanelle since 1999 as a secretary bookkeeper.
She was a member of the Fremont Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
Survivors include: her parents, Norman P. and Eunice L. (Koehler) Peterson of Fremont; a daughter, Julie (Mrs. Josh) Dirks of Omaha; a son, Ryan D. Loeffler of Omaha; a brother, Daniel (and wife, Debbie) Peterson of Stafford, Texas; a sister, Norma Lynn Bredenkamp of Crete; special friend, Jerry Uehling of Hooper; and a grandson.
Chaplain Joe Brown of Fremont Area Medical Center will officiate Tuesdays service. Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. today at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be in Hooper cemetery.

Roy Plummer
The funeral for Roy R. Plummer, 89, of Tekamah will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church in Tekamah.
He died Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, at Lakeside Hospital in Omaha.
He was born Feb. 6, 1915, in Arizona Township, Tekamah, to Fred and Rhoda (Deaver) Plummer. All of his life except the last year was spent in Burt County. He attended school through eighth grade then worked for several neighborhood farmers. He married Elaine Peterson on June 14, 1941, in a double ceremony with Bob and Annabelle Lewis at Oakland. They lived and farmed at Craig and Oakland until moving to Tekamah in 1956. He then drove a gas tank wagon for Co-op until he retired in 1979.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Tekamah, serving on the Session and being the church handyman. He served many years on the museum board.
Survivors include: three daughters, Janice (Mrs. Keith) Swearingen of Fremont, Phyllis (Mrs. Melvin) Schmidt of Craig and Bonnie (Mrs. Dan) Smith of Hastings; a brother, Donald (and wife, Lila) of Friend; nine grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, two brothers and three sisters.
The Rev. Charity Forbes will officiate Wednesdays service. Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. today with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. at Hamel-Peck-Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be in Tekamah cemetery.
Memorials have been established to First Presbyterian Church and Burt County Museum in Tekamah.

Bonnie Rashleigh
The funeral for Bonnie Rashleigh, 73, of Fremont will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Fremont.
She died Sunday, Dec. 12, 2004, at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.
She was born Nov. 17, 1931, in Little River, Kan., to Walter and Ruth (Garrison) Link. She attended school in Little River and graduated from high school there in 1949. She married Winston K. Rashleigh on June 5, 1949, in Little River. They lived in Omaha, Fremont and Nebraska City, returning to Fremont in 1967. The Rashleighs had four children, and raised them in Nebraska City and Fremont. In Fremont, she had managed the fine jewelry department of the JC Penney & Co. store for a number of years.
She was a 50-year member of First United Methodist Church of Fremont and a member of its Altar Guild. She also enjoyed serving the children of the church by delivering special childrens sermons during worship services. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed being with her friends and doing her daily crossword puzzles. She especially loved Christmas time. She made stockings for all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, collected more than 100 white angels, and cherished playing Christmas songs on the piano with her family gathered round singing.
Survivors include: her husband, Winston; four children, Carol (Mrs. Mark) Johnstone of Crete, Pat (Mrs. Fred) Andersen of Schuyler, Bill (and wife, Ann Marie) Rashleigh of Racine, Wis., Kathy Nocita and Sam Nocita of Omaha; special friend, Dennis Sorge of Omaha; a brother, William F. Link and Emie Schall of Green Valley, Ariz.; nine grandchildren, Ann Shrewsbury, Laura Fuller, Ryan Andersen, Robb (and wife, Nancy) Shrewsbury, Rachel (Mrs. Ivan) Tourney, Anthony Nocita and Destiny, and Benjamin and Marie Rashleigh; and six great-grandchildren, Jordyn Fuller and Kelcee, Meghan Shrewsbury, Shelby and Sam Tourney and Emma Shrewsbury.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, a brother and an infant brother.
The Revs. Greg Hall and Fred Andersen will officiate Wednesdays service. Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. today at Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont with the family receiving friends from 6:30-8 p.m. Burial will be in Memorial cemetery in Fremont.
Memorials have been established to First United Methodist Church and the Nebraska Childrens Home.

Georgia Svara
Georgia R. Svara, 80, of Wahoo, formerly of Colon, died Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, at South Haven Care Center in Wahoo.
She was born March 12, 1924, in Prague to Frank and Maria (Jicinsky) Palat. She graduated from Weston High School in 1942. She married Joseph G. Svara on April 14, 1945, in Omaha.
She was a member of St. Josephs Altar Sodality and Merry Matron Club.
Survivors include: two sons, Nick (and wife, Dianne) Svara of Cedar Bluffs and Mike (and wife, Patricia) Svara of Colon; two daughters, Kathy Stahl of Camp Verde, Ariz., and Roxanne (Mrs. Tom) Styskal of Ceresco; a daughter-in-law, Denise (Mrs. Kenny) Chvatal of Wahoo; a sister, Hattie Suchy of Omaha; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, a son-in-law, a great-grandson, two sisters and four brothers.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Colon with the Rev. Troy Schweiger officiating. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday with a rosary at 7 p.m., all at Svoboda Funeral Home in Wahoo. Burial will be in Sunrise North cemetery in Wahoo.

Ralph Warmbier
The memorial service for Ralph G. Warmbier, 73, of Fremont will be 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Fifth and C streets, in Fremont.
He died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Omaha.
He was born June 15, 1931, in Fremont and lived most of his life here. He graduated from the eighth grade from Trinity Lutheran School in 1944 and from Fremont High School in 1948. He attended college in Alabama while in the U.S. Air Force. He was on active duty from 1951-55 and the reserves from 1955-59.
He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans.
A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society.

Violet Freeman
The funeral for Violet Freeman, 100, of Wahoo will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Swedeburg Covenant Church.
She died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004, at Saunders County Hospital in Wahoo.
She was born March 6, 1904, in Omaha. She married Virgil Freeman on June 11, 1924, in Swedeburg.
Survivors include: her son, Charles Freeman of Littleton, Colo.; two daughters, Dorthy (Mrs. C.J.) Rodine of Ramona, Calif. and Karen (Mrs. David) Hunter of Lincoln; special friends Violet Hockinson of Ceresco, Helen Olson of Wahoo and Anita Sherrets of Wahoo; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Pruss-Nabity Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sunrise cemetery in Wahoo.

Frances Alexander
Frances M. Alexander, 88, of Fremont died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004, at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.
She was born March 8, 1916, in Dempster, S.D., to Benjamin Sherman and Anna Marie (Brune) Fallbeck. She grew up in the Dempster and Clear Lake, S.D., area and graduated from Clear Lake High School. She then moved to California. She married Milo O. Alexander Sr. on Nov. 16, 1939, in Long Beach, Calif. After her marriage, she moved with her husband while he was in the U.S. Navy. They lived in San Diego, Hawaii, Indiana, Norfolk, Va., and Hawthorne, Nev., before coming to Fremont in 1957. She worked for Schwesers Department Store for about 20 years as a retail sales clerk.
She was a member of First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, in Fremont and several church groups. She also was a member of the Business and Professional Women in Fremont.
Survivors include: her husband; two sons, Milo (and wife, Holly) Alexander Jr. of Omaha and Michael (and wife, Gwen) Fulsang of Atlanta; a sister-in-law, Vivian Petersen of Fremont; and five grandchildren, Megan, David, Ben and Matthew Alexander and Jason Fulsang.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Milford and Elmer Fallbeck.
The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Congregational Church, UCC, in Fremont with the Rev. Linda C. Newman officiating. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont with family receiving friends from 3-7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be in Memorial cemetery in Fremont.
Pallbearers will be Nathan and Luke Souza, Milo Jr., Michael, David and Matthew Alexander.
A memorial has been established to the church.

Laverne Dall
The funeral for Laverne E. Dall, 73, of Omaha, formerly of Fremont, will be 2 p.m. Friday at Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont.
She died Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, at Fremont Area Medical Center.
She was born April 21, 1931, in Omaha to Thomas and Mabel (Timperley) Dall. He graduated from Benson High School in Omaha. He then served in the U.S. Navy, and on his return home went to work for the Sorensen Dairy near Omaha. He was with Markel Ford dealership in Omaha for 25 years as their vice president and general manager. He then operated his own Ford dealership in Norfolk for 11 years. He then lived briefly in Arizona, moving to Fremont in 1989. Here, he worked for his brother-in-law in the Sid Dillon General Motors dealerships. He returned to Omaha in 2002.
He married Barbara L. Dillon on Feb. 28, 1952, in Omaha.
He was a member of Mosaic Masonic Lodge in Norfolk, the Scottish Rite Masonic organization of Omaha and the Sesostris Shrine Center in Lincoln.
Survivors include: his wife; a son, John (and wife, Linda) Dall of Scottsdale, Ariz.; a daughter, Julie Dall-Dreier of Omaha; a sister, Marilyn (Mrs. Duane) Peterson of Tekamah; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
The Rev. Tom Shaw of the Church of the Nazarene will officiate Fridays service. Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the family receiving friends from 6:30-8 p.m. Burial will be in Memorial cemetery in Fremont.
Memorials have been established to Immanuel Lutheran Church of Omaha (Benson) and the American Cancer Society.

Virginia Force
Virginia L. Force, 87, of Fort Collins, Colo., died Sunday, Dec. 12, 2004, in Fort Collins.
She was born April 19, 1917, in Maywood to Floyd and Bessie (Lundy) Roach. She graduated from high school in Maywood. She married William B. Force on Sept. 3, 1937, in Oakland. They owned and operated Force Hardware Store in Oakland for many years before moving to Denver in 1965. Her husband preceded her in death Jan. 24, 1981, in Denver. She moved to Fort Collins in 1983.
Survivors include: two sons, Gary Force of Lafayette, Colo., and Robert (and wife, Pamela) Force of Houston; two daughters, Kathy (Mrs. Ken) Martinolich of Livermore, Colo., and Linda Chamliess of Fort Collins; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
The graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Oakland cemetery with the Rev. Steven Hoden officiating. Visitation with the family receiving friends will be from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at Palmquist-Pelan Funeral Home in Oakland. A luncheon will be served at First Lutheran Church following the graveside service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Larimer County in care of Resthaven Funeral Home, 100 E. County Road 30, Fort Collins, CO 80525.
