Buela Hooper
The memorial service for Buela M. "Maxine" Hooper, 74, of Fremont will be 9:30 a.m. Friday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont.
She died Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.
She was born Jan. 3, 1930, in rural Blair to James and Buela (Cushman) Cooper. She grew up in Fremont and lived here all her life. She previously was a cook at Holiday Inn for 25 years and at the former Eldons Place in Fremont.
She married Richard R. Hooper on April 18, 1953, in Papillion. He died Nov. 20, 1999.
Survivors include: four sons, Donald Rockford of Schuyler, Richard (and wife, Karen) Rockford and Robert (and wife, Kelly) Rockford, all of Fremont, and Michael Rockford of Palmer; a daughter, Roxanne Rockford of Fremont; a brother-in-law, Lyle Beerbohm of Fremont; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
The Rev. K. Andrea Jones of St. James Episcopal Church in Fremont will officiate Fridays service. There is no visitation, however, friends may sign the register book from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, all at the funeral home.

Jackie Goodenough
Jackie L. Goodenough, 82, of Youngtown, Ariz., died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004, in Peoria, Ariz.
Survivors include: two daughters, JoAnn Thomas of Lincoln and Nancy Nickell of Colorado City, Colo.; and two sons, Roger Goodenough Jr. of Troy, Ohio, and Larry Goodenough of Surprise, Ariz.
Burial will be in Gonzalez, Fla.
Advantage Golden Door Chapel in Youngtown, Ariz., is in charge of arrangements.

Evelyn Tejral
The funeral for Evelyn E. Tejral, 93, of Wahoo, formerly of Ceresco, will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wahoo.
She died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004, at Saunders County Care Center in Wahoo.
She was born Oct. 3, 1911, in rural Crete to John and Mary (Novak) Skalak. She attended Prospect Hill School in the rural Malcolm area. She married Lod J. Tejral on June 22, 1932, in Valparaiso. The couple had lived in Ceresco since 1949. Her husband preceded her in death July 29, 1989. She had resided in Wahoo since 1993.
She was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wahoo and the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a former member of St. Marys Catholic Church in Davey.
Survivors include: two sons, Dennis (and wife, Beverly) Tejral of Lincoln and Don (and wife, Marilyn) Tejral of Wahoo; half brothers, John (and wife, Vivian) Sedlacek of Audubon, Penn., and Ed Sedlacek of David City; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister and a half brother.
The Rev. John Cooper will officiate Mondays service. Visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday at Svoboda Funeral Home in Wahoo with the family present after 2 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time at the church. A rosary will be said at 3 p.m. Sunday with a scriptural wake service at 4 p.m., both at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunrise North cemetery in Wahoo.
Memorials will be designated at a later time.

Vera Haney
The funeral for Vera M. Haney, 90, of Fremont will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont.
She died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2004, at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.
She was born Dec. 10, 1914, in Fremont to George and Elizabeth (Eicke) Haney. She was a graduate of Arlington High School and lived in the Fremont area all her life.
She was a member of Arlington Community Church at Arlington and Sarepta Chapter 48, Order of Eastern Star at Arlington.
Survivors include two sisters, Alice Delaney of Fremont and Lillian (Mrs. Ronald) Duncan of Spring Valley, Calif.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
The Rev. Lynn Martin of Arlington Community Church will officiate Tuesdays service. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Monday and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday, all in the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge cemetery in Fremont.

Twila Pekarek
Twila (Kriz) Pekarek, 63, of Excelsior Springs, Mo., died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004, at her home.
She was born June 13, 1941, to Rudolph and Helen Kriz of rural Dodge. She attended Snyder High School. She married Joe Krepel. They later divorced. She married Dennis Pekarek. She lived in Colorado most of her life and moved to Missouri two years ago.
Survivors include: her husband, Dennis; her mother, Helen Kriz of Snyder; a sister, Mavis (Mrs. Rodney) Lass of Snyder; a daughter, Brenda Buderus of Lincoln; five sons, Wayne Krepel of Texas, Darryl (and wife, Kim) Krepel and Allan (and wife, Candee) Krepel, all of Overland Park, Kan., Scott (and wife, Kara) Pekarek of Excelsior Springs, Mo., and Terry (and wife, Janna) Pekarek of Kansas City, Mo.; grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
A private family service was held Saturday at her home. Cards may be sent to Dennis Pekarek, 31850 Summit Ridge Road, Excelsior Springs, MO 64204.
Lawson Chapel, Polley Funeral Home, in Excelsior Springs was in charge of arrangements.

Donald Smith
Donald C. Smith, 78, of Rosalie died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2004, at Oakland Memorial Hospital in Oakland.
He was born Nov. 25, 1926, in the Sidney, Iowa, area to Charlie and Della (White) Smith. He served in the U.S. Army. He spent most of his adult life working on dairy farms near Glenwood, Iowa, Hooper and Walthill. He and his wife, Mary Ann, were married June 6, 1982, in Fremont. They lived in Fremont for two years before moving to the Rosalie area. After moving to Rosalie, they became members of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rosalie.
Survivors include: his wife; four stepchildren, Billy Cookman of Fremont, Theresa Cookman, Barbara Cookman and Karen Cookman, all of Omaha; a special son, Jeff Campbell; three brothers, Russell (and wife, Marietta) Smith of Des Moines, Iowa, Kenneth (and wife, Dora) Smith of Northboro, Iowa, and Wendell (and wife, Sherice) Smith of Sidney, Iowa; three sisters, Evelyn (Mrs. James) Whipple of Clarinda, Iowa, Ila Jean Gray of Nebraska City and Darlene (Mrs. Donald) Wampler of Nebraska City; and five stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rosalie with the Rev. Norma J. Vander Meer officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be 4 p.m. Friday in Saint Rose of Lima cemetery near Hooper. Military graveside rites will be performed by Robert Klase Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7998 of Lyons and Harvey Lenig American Legion Post 83 of Lyons.
Piper Funeral Home of Lyons is in charge of arrangements.

Marlin Schacht
Marlin A. Schacht, 69, of Hooper died Friday, Nov. 26, 2004, at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.
Arrangements are pending at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont.

Keith Kindschuh
Keith Kindschuh, 72, of Wisner died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004, at his home.
Arrangements are pending at Kuzelka-Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner.

Delilah Needham
The funeral for Delilah M. Needham, 77, of Fremont will be 2 p.m. Friday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont.
She died Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, at Edgewood Vista in Fremont.
She was born March 10, 1927, in Dalton to Carl and Amelia (Brandt) Miller. She grew up near Scribner and attended District 30 country school in Maple Township near North Bend. She was a 1945 graduate of Scribner High School. She moved to Fremont and was employed at the former Campbell Soup Company in Fremont from 1945 until retiring in June 1987. She moved to Plattsmouth in June 2001 and returned to Fremont in September.
She married Jack L. Ohm on Oct. 12, 1946, in Fremont. He died Oct. 26, 1980. She married LaVern L. Needham on March 18, 1992, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
She was a former member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 200 Auxiliary in Fremont.
Survivors include: her husband, LaVern; two sons, Jim (and wife, Annalee) Ohm of California and Gary (and wife, Carla) Ohm of Omaha; two stepsons, Dean (and wife, Amy) Needham of Wahoo and Dale Needham of rural Malmo; two stepdaughters, Judith Ann "Judy" (Mrs. Ralph) Peterson of Wahoo and Kathy L. Teterus of rural Malmo; a brother, Dale (and wife, Alice) Miller of Fremont; a brother-in-law, Edward Needham of Blue Hill; a sister-in-law, Mildred Needham of Lincoln; six grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by a brother, an infant sister, two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law.
The Rev. Joe Brown, chaplain at Fremont Area Medical Center, will officiate Fridays service. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, all in the funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial cemetery in Fremont.

Hellena Robertson
The funeral for Hellena R. Robertson, 98, of Modesto, Calif., formerly of Fremont, has been changed to 11 a.m. Monday at The Presbyterian Church in Fremont.
She died Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004, in Modesto.
She was born March 19, 1906, in Hooper to Franklin E. and Helena (Hilbers) Liston. She married Earl H. Robertson on Jan. 1, 1930, in Nickerson. They owned the Webster Store in Webster for many years, and in 1944 moved to Fremont where Earl went to work for the Fremont Hatchery. She worked at the Hinky Dinky Grocery on Sixth Street and Park Avenue in Fremont. In 1955, they once again became owners of a grocery store at 815 N. Irving St., across from Midland Lutheran College. They watched Swanson Hall being built across the street as well as many other additions to the college. Their grocery store property was sold to Midland Lutheran College. Her husband preceded her in death in June 1979. She lived in her home on W. 19th Street in Fremont until four years ago when she went to live with her daughter in Modesto.
Survivors include: a daughter, Eleanor Akard of Modesto; a son, Earl E. (and wife, Mary Lou) Robertson of Golden Valley, Minn.; a sister, Lolita (Mrs. Harold) Porter of Webster; a brother, Clayton Liston of Hooper; three sisters-in-law, Evelyn (Mrs. Franklin) Liston of Fremont, LaVerle (Mrs. William) Liston of Hooper and Evelyn (Mrs. Harry) Dunker of Fremont; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
The Rev. Harlan Brei will officiate Mondays service. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. today at Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont and will continue one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be in Memorial cemetery in Fremont.
Memorials have been established to The Presbyterian Church in Fremont and the American Heart Association.

Malinda Brandt
The funeral for Malinda M. (Klevemann) Brandt, 100, of Fremont will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Salem Lutheran Church in Fremont.
She died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004, at Birchwood Manor in North Bend.
She was born April 4, 1904, on the family farm near Cedar Bluffs in Saunders County to John and Ida (Rabbass) Petersen. Her early years were lived in Cedar Bluffs, South Dakota and Leigh. Later, she returned to Cedar Bluffs before moving to Fremont. In 1922, she married Henry W. Klevemann. They had nine children. Her husband, Henry, died in 1954. In 1960, she married Floyd Brandt, and he died in 1976. She worked in three different cafes. She also did wallpapering, and she worked for the former Hipke Laundry in downtown Fremont. He had been a resident of Birchwood Manor from Nov. 13, 1991, until her death.
Survivors include: two sons, William Klevemann of Beatrice and Walter (and wife, Patsy) Klevemann of Fremont; four daughters, Ann Flesher of Fremont, Patricia Bertelsen of Ames, Bonita (and husband, Larry) Goracke of Ames and Linda (and husband, Jerry) OBanion of Meadow Grove; three daughters-in law, Betty Klevemann of Columbus whose husband was John, Olga Klevemann of North Huntingdon, Pa., whose husband was Carl and Kay Klevemann of Fremont whose husband was Bobbie; 31 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; 31 great-great grandchildren; and sister, Gracie Ishmiel of Fremont.
She also was preceded in death by three sons, John, Carl and Bobbie; one granddaughter and 11 brothers and sisters.
The Rev. Delvin Hutton will officiate Wednesdays service. Burial will follow in Memorial cemetery.
Visitation will be 1-9 p.m. Tuesday with family receiving friends from 6:30-8 p.m. at Ludvigsen Mortuary and one hour before the service Wednesday at the church.
