Hellena Robertson
The funeral for Hellena R. Robertson, 98, of Modesto, Calif., formerly of Fremont, has been changed to 11 a.m. Monday at The Presbyterian Church in Fremont.
She died Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004, in Modesto.
She was born March 19, 1906, in Hooper to Franklin E. and Helena (Hilbers) Liston. She married Earl H. Robertson on Jan. 1, 1930, in Nickerson. They owned the Webster Store in Webster for many years, and in 1944 moved to Fremont where Earl went to work for the Fremont Hatchery. She worked at the Hinky Dinky Grocery on Sixth Street and Park Avenue in Fremont. In 1955, they once again became owners of a grocery store at 815 N. Irving St., across from Midland Lutheran College. They watched Swanson Hall being built across the street as well as many other additions to the college. Their grocery store property was sold to Midland Lutheran College. Her husband preceded her in death in June 1979. She lived in her home on W. 19th Street in Fremont until four years ago when she went to live with her daughter in Modesto.
Survivors include: a daughter, Eleanor Akard of Modesto; a son, Earl E. (and wife, Mary Lou) Robertson of Golden Valley, Minn.; a sister, Lolita (Mrs. Harold) Porter of Webster; a brother, Clayton Liston of Hooper; three sisters-in-law, Evelyn (Mrs. Franklin) Liston of Fremont, LaVerle (Mrs. William) Liston of Hooper and Evelyn (Mrs. Harry) Dunker of Fremont; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
The Rev. Harlan Brei will officiate Mondays service. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont and will continue one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be in Memorial cemetery in Fremont.
Memorials have been established to The Presbyterian Church in Fremont and the American Heart Association.

LaVida Kavan
The funeral for LaVida J. Kavan, 75, of North Bend, formerly of the Morse Bluff and Prague area, will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Moser Memorial Chapel in North Bend.
She died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004, at Birchwood Manor in North Bend.
She was born Jan. 3, 1929, in Morse Bluff to Frank and Clara (Haba) Kavan. She lived all her life in the Morse Bluff, Prague and North Bend area.
Survivors include: a sister, LaVae (Mrs. Victor) Svitak of Clarkson.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
The Rev. Maetta Snyder of United Presbyterian Church at North Bend will officiate. Visitation will be 1-4 p.m. Sunday and 9-10:30 a.m. Monday, all at the funeral home. Burial will be in the National cemetery in Prague.

Dorothy Ellerman
The funeral for Dorothy Z. Ellerman, 73, of Fremont will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Fremont.
She died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004, at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.
She was born May 24, 1931, in Glenrose, Texas, to James and Ora (Ford) Relfe. She grew up in Brownwood, Texas, and came to Nebraska in the early 1960s. She lived first in Blair for a year, then moved to Fremont. She had worked for several of Fremonts restaurants throughout the years, and had been working last for Midland Lutheran College on its switchboard.
She married Vern Ellerman on April 17, 1970, in Blair.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: her husband; a daughter, Flo (and husband, Ed) Kovar of Fremont; a sister, Rose Lee Adamson of Canyon Lake, Texas; three sisters-in-law, Joanne (and husband, Don) Berg of Scribner, Donna Kruger of Fremont and Jannine (and husband, Ralph) Wagner of Scribner; a brother-in-law, Warren Ellerman of Arizona; three grandchildren, Tim Kovar of Atlanta, Lisa (and husband, Davie) Whipple of Langley Air Force Base, Va., and Mark Kovar of Omaha; two great-grandchildren, Tristian and Trevyn Whipple; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, J.D. Relfe and Jesse Relfe.
The Rev. Jocelyn Tupper will officiate Thursdays service. Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. Wednesday at Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont with family receiving friends from 6:30-8 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be in Memorial cemetery in Fremont.
Memorials have been established to the church and the American Cancer Society.

Domicella Sokol
Domicella "Dee" R. Sokol, 92, of Schuyler died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2004, at Beverly Healthcare Nursing Center in Schuyler.
She was born Aug. 21, 1912, in Polk County to Barney and Balbina (Micek) Stachura. She attended St. Stanislaus Parochial School of Duncan through the eighth grade and later graduated from Duncan High School. She married Benedict R. Sokol on Feb. 22, 1932. He died Sept. 7, 1970. They lived in St. Edward, Silver Creek and Columbus before moving to Schuyler. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Augustines Catholic Church, the Guild, Altar Society and Rosary Crusade.
Survivors include: a brother, Albin Stachura of Columbus; a daughter-in-law, Valera Sokol of Mesa, Ariz.; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by a son, two sisters and two brothers.
The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Schuyler with the Revs. Gerald Leise and Andrew Meister officiating. Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. Sunday with a 3 p.m. rosary, all at Kracl Funeral Chapel in Schuyler. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be in Schuyler cemetery.
A memorial has been established for Masses.

Leo Jugler
Leo V. Jugler, 79, of Fremont died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004, at Del Webb Memorial Hospital in Sun City West, Ariz.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Salem Lutheran Church in Fremont. Burial with graveside military honors will be at Memorial cemetery. Visitation is 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday with family greeting friends and relatives from 5:30-7 p.m. Masonic rites will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday by the Fremont Masonic Lodge No. 15 AF/AM.
Arrangements are pending at Rozanek Funeral Services.

Adolph Jelinek
Adolph S. Jelinek, 92, of Dodge died Friday, Dec. 24, 2004, at the Parkview Nursing Home in Dodge.
The funeral service is at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Johns Catholic Church in Howells with the Rev. Paul Ortmeier officiating. Burial will be in the Tabor cemetery, rural Howells. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Monday with a 7:30 vigil service and one hour prior to Tuesdays service, all at the church.
Kracl Funeral Chapel of Schuyler is in charge of the arrangements.

Donald Hansen
The funeral for Donald L. Hansen, 68, of rural Fremont will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Fremont.
He died Friday, Dec. 24, 2004, in his home.
He was born Dec. 15, 1936, in Fremont, where he spent most of his childhood years. He had lived briefly in Blair and Kennard. He married Evelyn K. Axtell on Feb. 7, 1958, in Tekamah. He worked for the Nebraska State Department of Roads, then entered military service in the U.S. Air Force. He served from September 1954 to November 1957. He then returned to work for the Nebraska Department of Roads, retiring after 44 years. He then did some part-time work for the department, and also worked for Bill Rhea, hauling alfalfa during the summers. He was a member of VFW Post 854 and American Legion Post 20, both of Fremont. He also had been a member of the former Lodge No. 26 of the Danish Brotherhood in America.
Survivors include: his wife, Evelyn; son, Jason E. Hansen Sr. (and wife, Amy) of Fremont; four daughters, Debra (and husband, Jon) Tank of Fremont, Ora (and husband, Damon) Watts of Hooper, Christina (and husband, Calvin) Villwok of Arlington and Valerie (and husband, Kevin) Burris of Kennard; 10 grandchildren; brother, Martin Schwanke of Ames; aunt, Jeanette (and husband, Joe) Jindra of Fremont; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.
The Rev. John Plowman will officiate Tuesdays funeral. Burial will follow in Memorial cemetery. Visitation will be 1-9 p.m. Monday with family receiving friends from 6:30-8 p.m. at Ludvigsen Mortuary and one hour before the service Tuesday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to St. Timothy Lutheran Church and to the Fremont Area Medical Center hospice program.

John Eddie Connealy
The funeral for John Edward "Eddie" Connealy, 43, of Pilger, formerly of Decatur, will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Evangelical Free Church in Oakland.
He died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Creston.
Eddie Connealy was born Feb. 26, 1961, in a Sioux City, Iowa, hospital to Emmet and Marge (Sudbeck) Connealy. He was the youngest of seven children and grew up on a family farm just southwest of Decatur. He attended Elm Creek country school; graduated from Decatur High School in 1979, and then continued his education for two years at Northeast Community College in Norfolk. After college, he worked as an independent building contractor in the Norfolk area. He married Ann Eckholt on Nov. 23, 2002. He was the Sunday school superintendent of the Victory Road Evangelical Free Church in Norfolk. He also served as the president of the Stanton County Extension service and worked with many youth in the county 4-H program.
Survivors include: his wife, Ann, and daughters, Kendra and Hannah of Pilger; mother, Marge, of Decatur; brother, Dave (and wife, L.J.) of Decatur; sisters, Jeanine (and husband, Jay) Reischl of Omaha, Jane Connealy of Blair, Debbie Penny of Tekamah, Mary Lynn Connealy of Blair, Peggy Connealy of Wayne; many relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Emmet.
The Rev. Ronald Gunsolley will officiate Mondays service. Visitation with family receiving friends will be 5-8 p.m. today at Palmquist-Pelan Funeral Home in Oakland. Burial will be 1:30 p.m. in the Hillcrest cemetery in Decatur.
Memorials may be directed to Ann Connealy and will be used to support Kendra and Hannahs education.

Frances Alexander
Frances M. Alexander, 88, of Fremont died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004, at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.
She was born March 8, 1916, in Dempster, S.D., to Benjamin Sherman and Anna Marie (Brune) Fallbeck. She grew up in the Dempster and Clear Lake, S.D., area and graduated from Clear Lake High School. She then moved to California. She married Milo O. Alexander Sr. on Nov. 16, 1939, in Long Beach, Calif. After her marriage, she moved with her husband while he was in the U.S. Navy. They lived in San Diego, Hawaii, Indiana, Norfolk, Va., and Hawthorne, Nev., before coming to Fremont in 1957. She worked for Schwesers Department Store for about 20 years as a retail sales clerk.
She was a member of First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, in Fremont and several church groups. She also was a member of the Business and Professional Women in Fremont.
Survivors include: her husband; two sons, Milo (and wife, Holly) Alexander Jr. of Omaha and Michael Alexander (and wife, Gwen Fulsang) of Atlanta; a sister-in-law, Vivian Petersen of Fremont; and five grandchildren, Megan, David, Ben and Matthew Alexander and Jason Fulsang.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Milford and Elmer Fallbeck.
The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Congregational Church, UCC, in Fremont with the Rev. Linda C. Newman officiating. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. today at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont with family receiving friends from 3-7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be in Memorial cemetery in Fremont.
Pallbearers will be Nathan and Luke Souza, Milo Jr., Michael, David and Matthew Alexander.
A memorial has been established to the church.

Willard Stunkel
Willard L. "Bill" Stunkel, 78, of Omaha died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.
He was born Oct. 7, 1926, in York to Lewis and Hilda Stunkel. He married Patricia Lee on June 6, 1948. He was a former journalist, public relations director, livestock sale manager and salesman.
Survivors include: his wife; three daughters, Vicki (and husband, Larry) Tank of Fremont, Pamela (and husband, Michael) Draemel of Elkhorn and Beth (and husband, James) Hamman of Blue Springs, Mo.; a son, Lawrence (and wife, Sally) Stunkel of Papillion; a brother, John Stunkel of Sarasota, Fla.; six grandsons, three granddaughters and two step great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, a grandson and a granddaughter.
The funeral was held this morning at King of Kings Lutheran Chapel, 116th and I streets, in Omaha. Burial was in Hillcrest cemetery.
Kremer Funeral Home in Omaha was in charge of arrangements.
