Tasha Obrist
Oct. 17, 1976 - May 2, 2002
Funeral services were Wednesday at St. Columbkille Catholic Church for Tasha A. Obrist from San Diego, formerly of Papillion.
She died last Thursday at Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego from injuries sustained in a car accident.
Memorials are suggested to the Kappa Alpha Rho Chapter Scholarship Fund in Lincoln or Omaha Gross High School Scholarship Fund.
Obrist is survived by her husband Timothy of San Diego; parents Robert and Sherry Hahn of Papillion; and grandparents Ralph and Bernice Meese of Wahoo, and Ann Hahn of Pierce.

Gladys Lugsch
July 27, 1918 - May 5, 2002
Funeral services will be Thursday for Gladys Naomi Lugsch, 83, of Papillion.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church in Ralston. She died May 5 following complications from a stroke.
Interment will be at Evergreen Memorial cemetery. Pallbearers are Adam Plack, Harry Weichel, Pat Osborne, Larry Feller, Rick Feller and Paul Quandahl. Honorary pallbearers are Ashley and Whitney Plack.
A long-time Ralston resident, Lugsch was born July 27, 1918, in Moultrie County near Sullivan, Ill., the daughter of Esaue and Pearl Feller. She graduated from Mattoon (Ill.) High School and Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Ill.
She married Neil DeWayne Lugsch of Plattsmouth in September 1947. They moved to Ralston in 1949, where she worked as a home economist for OPPD for 10 years.
In 1960, she opened and taught at Jack and Jill Pre-School. She owned the pre-school for 25 years, retiring in 1985.
An active member of the Omaha Home Economists in Business, Lugsch was also the president of the Omaha Association of Education of Young Children.
She was an officer in the Nebraska State Association for the Education of Young Children for several years. Lugsch was also active in the Douglas County extension 4-H clubs.
She was preceded in death by her husband Neil; sister Marie Edmonds; and brother Leon Feller.
Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law Linda and Douglas Plack of Ralston; grandchildren Ashley, Whitney and Adam Plack of Ralston; brother Wayne Feller of Decatur, Ill.; sister Olga Freemon of Phoenix, Ariz.; sister-in-law Carolyn Slagle of Los Angeles; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials are suggested to the Ralston Community Schools Foundation or Nebraska Children?s Home.

Alan W. Hansler
Dec. 5, 1955 - May 19, 2002
Funeral services were May 24 for Alan W. Hansler of Omaha. He was 46.
The family will have a private inurnment at a later date.
Hansler, the son of Everett and Nelle (Burnsworth) Hansler, was born Dec. 5, 1955, in Omaha. He is survived by his wife Barbara; daughters Hannah and Rachel; sister Roxanne Royster; brother Edward Hansler; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorials can be sent to the family for the children's education.

Minnie Mae Johnson
May 2, 1950 - May 18, 2002
Former Ralston resident Minnie Mae Johnson of Tucson, Ariz., died May 18. She was 52.
Interment was at Valley Community cemetery in Valley. The Rev. Ray Cluff officiated.
Johnson was born May 2, 1950, the daughter of Howard and Bernice (Moore) Varney.
She is survived by her husband Robert; daughter Stephanie Hopf and her husband Peter, Minneapolis; brother Lewis Varney, Ralston; sisters Venice Puffer, Algona, Iowa, and Vila Emerson, Omaha.

Rose M. Love
Gretna resident Rose M. Love died May 21 at age 96.
Funeral services were June 1 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Gretna. The Rev. Daniel F. Soltys officiated.
Pallbearers were Ken Love, Rick Dickenson, Bob Vrbka, John Anderson, Jay Anderson and Jim Anderson. Interment was at St. Mary Magdalene cemetery in Omaha.
She was preceded in death by her husband Roy C. Love; son-in-law John Anderson; granddaughter Janice Lynn Haug; and great-granddaughter Shannon Larae Gilmore.
She is survived by daughters Marilyn Haug and her husband Marvin, Bushnell, and Eleanor Jean Anderson, Livermore, Calif.; son LeRoy Love and his wife Alaura, Lombard, Ill.; 15 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials can be sent to the American Cancer Society.

Robert Becker
Oct. 2, 1927 - May 20, 2002
Funeral services were May 23 for Papillion resident Robert Charles Becker, who died May 20. He was 74.
Interment was at Fairview cemetery in Papillion. The Rev. Wayne Reynolds officiated.
Pallbearers were John Krebs, Gordon Lutz, Jack Becker, Rollie Richards, Roger Buck and Doug Mann.
Becker was born Oct. 2, 1927, in Omaha, the son of George and Olga (Lenser) Becker. He served in the United States Navy from Dec. 1944-Aug. 1946 and worked as a lithograph operator for Continental Can.
He was preceded in death by his wife Delores; one brother and one sister.
He is survived by his sons Robert Becker and his wife Bev, Alvo, Charlie Becker and his wife Patricia, Murdock, Steven Becker and his wife Beverly, Louisville, Dan Becker and his wife Kathy, Wahoo; daughters Diane Buck and her husband Roger, Murdock, Tasha Mann and her husband Doug, Springfield, Tammy Keffer, Papillion; brothers Mary Stuehm, Don Becker; sisters-in-law Ruth Kentner, all of Phoenix, Judy Myers, Sedona, Ariz., Dorothy Richards, Springfield; and 17 grandchildren.

Ralph Freeman Jr.
Jan. 17, 1920 - Nov. 5, 2002
Funeral services were Nov. 8 for Papillion resident Ralph Stephen Freeman Jr., who died Nov. 5 at Huntington Park Care Center.
He was 82.
Interment was at Westlawn-Hillcrest Memorial Park in Omaha. The Rev. U. Fred Landsberg officiated. The Papillion American Legion Post No. 32 provided military honors.
Freeman was born Jan. 17, 1920, in Minneapolis, the son of Ralph Freeman Sr. and Frances (Ilstrup) Freeman. He is a former member of the Tangier Shriners in Omaha.
He is survived by his wife Barbara, La Vista; sons Bradley, La Vista, and Richard, Birmingham, Ala., Ralph III, El Sorbrante, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

Ronald Oakerson
May 26, 1941 - Nov. 3, 2002
Funeral services were Nov. 7 for Gretna resident Ronald R. Oakerson, who died Nov. 3 at Midlands Community Hospital in Papillion.
He was 61.
Interment was in Ft. Leavenworth, Kan. Gary Sanford officiated.
Oakerson was born May 26, 1941, in Maryville, Mo., the son of Raymond and Gladys (Dewitt) Oakerson. He is survived by sons Justin Oakerson, Texas, Eric Oakerson, Louisiana, and Scott Oakerson, Kansas; mother Gladys Oakerson, Gretna; brothers Donald Oakerson, Gretna, and Dick Oakerson, Nevada.

Mabel Mowinkel
Oct. 16, 1908 - Nov. 3, 2002
Funeral services were at Resurrection Lutheran Church of Gretna for Elkhorn Manor resident Mabel A. Mowinkel, who died Nov. 3 at Life Care of Elkhorn.
She was 94.
Interment was at Mt. Auburn cemetery in Omaha. Al Duminy officiated. Pallbearers were Keith Mowinkel, Thaddeus Herman, Steve Merman, Jon Allen and Aaron Wehrly.
Mowinkel was born Oct. 16, 1908, in Gretna, the daughter of Ben and Clara (Wessel) Ehlers.
She is survived by son Robert Mowinkel and his wife Thelma, Gretna; grandchildren Keith Mowinkel, Gretna, Diane Herman and her husband Steve, Curtis, Donna Allen and her husband Jon, Omaha, and Susan Mowinkel of Curtis; great-grandchildren Andrea Bailey, Michelle Bailey, Molly Herman, Thaddeus Herman and Georgia Herman.
Memorials can be sent to Resurrection Lutheran Church of Gretna.

Anita Josephine Mundt Bell
June 22, 1915 - Nov 8, 2002
Anita Josephine Mundt Bell, 87, of Ruston, La., died Nov. 8 in Ruston.
Bell was born June 22, 1915, in Springfield to Ed and Alma Mundt.
On June 22, 1937, she married Ronald Edwin Bell. Ronald died in September 1997.
Bell was a member of Women's Club, Eastern Star, 4-H and the Methodist Church in Papillion for over 30 years.
Bell continued her involvement in community activities while living in Ruston for the past 30 years. She loved gardening and gained a reputation as an amateur horticulturalist.
Versatile and talented, Bell sewed tailored suits and formal and dance costumes. She judged flower shows, taught Bible classes, played tennis, swam, baked bread weekly and was quite the parliamentarian in the many clubs to which she belonged.
Bell loved music, art and reading. She was a constant student of nearly everything.
Survivors are her three sons, Gregory of Saratoga, Calif., Stuart of Kokomo, Miss., and Lawrence of Denver; daughter Ronita Bell Sylvester of LaSalle, Colo.; three sisters, Emily Bowling and Ruby Schobert of Papillion and Ida Klockner of Fairbury; a brother, Arthur Mundt of Lincoln; three granddaughters, seven grandsons and five great grandchildren. Brothers George and Herbert Mundt and grandson Stanley Bell preceded her in death.
A Celebration of Anita's Life will occur Nov. 29 at St. Paul's Methodist Church in Papillion at 10 a.m. A reception will follow.
