Dick Lee Hahn died May 14, 2005, in Imperial, Neb.
He was born Sept. 27, 1931 in Hayes County, Neb.
Funeral services will be today (Thursday, May 19, 2005), at 10:30 a.m. at the Hamlet Union Church in Hamlet, Neb. with Pastor Marshall Erickson officiating.
Organist will be Mrs. Delores Flaming and soloist Mr. Kelly Egle.
Casketbearers are Loren Egle, Loran Wach, Todd Anderson, Dennis Egle, Kenny Egle and Norman Egle. Honorary casketbearer is Bill Smith.
Interment will be at the Hamlet cemetery, Hamlet.

Bertha Kutz
Bertha Agnes Kutz died May 10, 2005, in Imperial, Neb.
She was born Jan. 20, 1924 in Olpe, Kan.
Rosary was said Thursday, May 12, 2005, 7 p.m., St. James Catholic Church, Curtis, Neb.
Memorial funeral mass was held Friday, May 13, 2005, at 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church in Curtis, Neb. with Father Ferdinand Boehme officiating.
Organist was Mrs. Regina Andrijeski.
A private inurnment will take place at a later date.

Jane Grantham
Jane Pump Grantham was born Oct. 24, 1928 north of Enders, Neb. to Earl and Erma Slack.
She lived on the Slack family farm until meeting and marrying Melvin Pump in 1946. To this union they had daughter Mary and son Jim. They farmed just north of Lamar for many years.
Jane enjoyed raising her children as well as helping on the farm and worked in some local grocery stores.
She loved getting her card club together and playing cards. She loved tinkering in her garden and always had a few vegetables, as well as many flowers. Jane loved crocheting, making afghans and baby blankets with many babies receiving the blankets she made. Jane also enjoyed doing crafts and liked to watch the craft shows on TV and learning new crafts.
Jane was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Imperial where she was baptized, confirmed in March of 1947 and received as a member on April 1, 1984 and had a great faith in God.
In the early 70s the Pump family moved to Imperial and Jane went to work for the Imperial Manor. She worked as a CNA until the day of her death May 4, 2005, at the age of 76.
She was married
to Melvin until his death in November of 1980. She then married
Joe Grantham in 1983 and they lived in Imperial until his death in 1992.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Erma Slack, brothers James and Earl Slack, husband Melvin Pump and husband Joe Grantham.
Survivors include daughter Mary Norris and husband Albert of Houston, Texas; son Jim Pump and wife Marcy of Imperial, Neb.; granddaughters Anisa McCarty and husband Michael of Houston, Texas, Erika Norris and Kristina Norris of Houston, Texas; stepdaughter Trudy Gorsuch and husband Carl of Imperial, Neb.; stepson Kelly Grantham of Rapton, NM; nine step grandchildren; 13 step great grandchildren; as well as numerous extended family and friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 9, 2005, at Zion Lutheran Church in Imperial.
Honorary casketbearers were Bill Pump, Erika Norris, Michael McCarty, Kristina Norris, Anisa McCarty and Al Norris.

Elmer Way
Elmer Dean Way, 79, of Laporte, Colo., died April 19, 2005 at Poudre Valley Hospital.
Elmer was born Aug. 13, 1925 in Surprise, Neb. to Ray Way and Mary Yordy Way.
He married
Dorene K. Goosman on Dec. 21, 1946 in Marysville, Kan. They made their home in Surprise, Neb. where they farmed for 58 years.
They moved six years ago to Laporte from North Platte, Neb.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Raymond, Clarence, Delmer, Don; one sister, Louella Marquis; and a baby daughter, Patricia Ann.
Elmer is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dorene K. Way; nine children, Mike and wife, Sue of North Platte, Neb., Ron and wife, Rose of Fort Collins, Colo., Diane and husband, Louie of North Platte, Steve and wife, Terri of Brush, Colo., Dennis and wife, Laurie of North Platte, Dan and wife, Pam of Pason, Ariz., Bruce and wife, Dianne of Imperial, Neb. and Randy of Laporte; a sister, Gladys Hartman of Imperial, Neb.; 34 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Bohlender Funeral Chapel, on Friday, April 22, 2005, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Ida Odle officiating the service.
Interment followed at Grandview cemetery.

Eva E. Hendrix
Eva Endora Hendrix was born north of Grainton, Neb. to Bly H. and Leta L. (Gredes) Howard.
As a young girl, she moved with her parents to a farm in Cheyenne County, Kan. where she attended the East White Rural School through the eighth grade. She then went on to attend high school in St. Francis, Kan. before moving with her grandparents, Fred and Abigail Gerdes, to Benkelman, Neb.
Eva gained employment at the Moses Drug Store in Benkelman in 1947, and worked there until marrying Lloyd H. Lunzmann on June 30, 1951 at Zion Lutheran Church in Benkelman.
The couple settled on the south divide on the Lunzmann farm.
They then moved in 1953 to Imperial, Neb. where they made their home.
Lloyd passed away in March of 1967 and Eva began working at the Stanbar Animal Hospital.
Eva married
Lyle J. Hendrix on Aug. 10, 1972, and the couple moved to the Hendrix Homestead in the Hiawatha Community, south of Imperial, where they made their home.
Lyle passed away in 1988, and Eva moved near Imperial and began working at Chase County Community Hospital in 1992.
Eva passed away Saturday, April 9, 2005 at the Linden Court Care Facility in North Platte, Neb. She was 74 years of age.
Eva was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Imperial, and had many hobbies including sewing, crocheting, quilting, gardening, canning and she especially loved to cook.
Survivors include son, Timothy Lunzmann of Imperial, Neb; daughter, Cathy Belau and husband, Rod, of Imperial, Neb.; brother, Maynard Howard, Fredericksburg, Texas; sister, Karron Donley and husband, Mike, of Thornton, Colo.; six nephews and four nieces.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Lloyd and Lyle; nephew, David Armknecht; niece, Denise Armknecht, and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services for Eva were Saturday morning, April 16, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church of Imperial with Rev. Keith Wellman officiating.
Casketbearers were Ken Kohmetscher, Lonnie Brewer, Ray Wright, Marlon Berry, Ron Berry and Tom Hartford.
Honorary casketbearers were Wayne Bartels, Randy Raile, Gail Rowley, Ray Walgren, Keith Wood and Peco Anderson.
Interment followed at the Benkelman cemetery, Benkelman, Neb.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Eva's memory.

Eva Hendricks
Eva Hendricks, 74, of Imperial, Neb., died Saturday, April 9, 2005, at the Linden Court Care Facility in North Platte, Neb.
Survivors include son, Timothy Lunzmann of Imperial, Neb.; daughter, Cathy Belau and husband, Rod, of Imperial, Neb.; brother, Maynard Howard of Fredricksburg, Texas; sister, Karron Donley and husband, Mike, of Thornton, Colo.
Visitation will be Friday afternoon, April 15, 2-6 p.m. at the Liewer Funeral Home in Imperial.
Services will be Saturday, April 16, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Imperial, Neb. with the Rev. Keith Wellman officiating.
Interment will follow at the Benkelman cemetery, Benkelman, Neb.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her memory.

Frieda Decker
Frieda Leota Decker was born on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28, 1918 to George Allen Fletcher and Clara Pearl Fletcher in Hayes County Nebraska and passed away April 7, 2005 at Good Samaritan Health Care Center in Alliance at the age of 86.
She attended a rural one-room school and graduated from the eighth grade at Blanche School in Chase County.
Frieda married
Robert Louis Stanley in the early 1940's and moved to Washington shortly after their marriage where they lived for two years.
After moving back to Chase County, two daughters, Vicky Deanna and Georgia Pauline, were born, but Vicky passed away at four months of age. In February of 1947, Robert passed away leaving Frieda to raise Georgia with the help of her parents.
In 1966, Frieda married
Cecil Decker and lived in Benkelman, Neb. for 34 years until they moved to Alliance in 2000 to be closer to their daughter and granddaughter, Georgia and Kylee Stanley.
Frieda had a love for the outdoors. She especially enjoyed the spring when she could start working in the flowerbed with her tulips, but the summer days she spent in her rose beds and garden were her favorite. Frieda also enjoyed camping and fishing with her close family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, her daughter Vicky and her sister Wilma Hill.
Frieda was a loving and compassionate wife, mother and grandmother leaving her husband Cecil Decker, her daughter Georgia Stanley and her granddaughter Kylee Stanley, all of Alliance, to mourn her passing.
Graveside services were held on Saturday, April 9, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Mount Hope cemetery in Imperial, Neb.
Memorials may be sent to Lakeside Grade School, Lakeside, NE 69351 in care of the Lakeside School Library Fund.

Clifford Moody
Clifford C. Moody was born Aug. 28, 1909 to Elbert and Mary (Overman) Moody in a sod house on his parents' homestead north of Wauneta, Neb. in Chase County. He departed this life on March 31, 2005 at Northwest Hospital in Tucson, Ariz.
Clifford attended school as a child at the Spring Valley School in rural Chase County.
On April 7, 1934 he married
Velma Hixon in Holyoke, Colo. She was a young lady he had known and admired since childhood. To this union were born two children, Ronald D. Moody of Tucson and Mary E. Gage of Wauneta.
As a young man, Clifford worked beside his dad on the family farm. He told many stories of the years the two of them pulled their "Alfalfa Huller" over a large area of Chase, Perkins and Hayes Counties with an old International Tractor, threshing alfalfa seed for many families in the area.
In 1944 Clifford's dad became very ill and was forced to retire, at which time Clifford took over the family farm until 1955 when he and Velma decided to try a different lifestyle and move to Denver, Colo. where they lived for the next nine years.
Cliff owned and operated a Standard Oil station and also worked as a salesman for different businesses during this time.
In 1964 Cliff and Velma moved back to the family farm where they lived for the next 17 years, engaged mainly with their hog operation.
In 1981 they retired and moved to Tucson to be by their son and his family and enjoy the warm winters.
On April 7, 2004 Clifford and Velma celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary with many family members and friends. The stories of their courtship, their wedding and their life together will be forever treasured by their children and grandchildren along with Clifford's wonderful sense of humor, his passion for life and his love for his family.
Clifford was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert and Mary Moody and one sister Marita Robertson.
Clifford leaves to mourn his loving wife of nearly 71 years; his son Ronald D. Moody and wife Ellen of Tucson, Ariz. and daughter Mary E. Gage and husband Keith of Wauneta, Neb.; along with nine grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; two great, great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
Services were held on April 9 at the Wauneta Methodist Church with the Rev. Judy Dye presiding.
Organist was Mrs. Diane Ham and soloist was Mrs. Sharon Walgren.
Casketbearers were Bob Gage, Mike Gage, Jim Gage, Keith Wallace, Scott Moody and Craig Fanning.
Honorary pallbearers were Jake Tepley, Raymond Maxfield, Jack Maddux, Kenneth Denker, Bob Kitt and Kenneth Polly.
Interment was at Riverside cemetery in Wauneta, Neb.
