Helene C. Gray 94, widow of Roy F., of Davey, died Sunday February 21, 2010. She was born April 25, 1915, in Malcolm, NE to Frank and Clara (Schildt) Schmale. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Davey, Happy Center Extension Club, Moose Lodge Auxilliary, Burlington Northern Veterans Association, a lifetime member & exhibitor Nebraska State Fair, longtime Lancaster County Fair exhibitor.
Visitation: Visitation 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday February 25, 2010 at the Funeral Home with family greeting friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m..
Service: Funeral Services: 2:00 p.m. Friday February 26, 2010 at Metcalf Funeral Home Chapel, 245 N 27th Street, Lincoln, NE.

Arlen Ray Sollenberger Jr.
Arlen (Ray) Sollenberger III, 53, passed peacefully after a short illness at St Elizabeth, Lincoln, NE on 9/16/2011 with his long time friends and roommate, Keith Stieneke; son, Logan Marshall Harris, aunt and friends at his side. Ray was born 12/30/1957 in Fremont, NE to Arlen and Nyla (Vinsonhaler) Sollenberger. Ray graduated from Fremont High in 1976 then worked for McDonalds before going to Ecola Bible College receiving a year certificate, then to Sioux Falls College 1978 to 1981, then to NE Wesleyan graduating in 1984. Ray was employed at present time at (south) Walmart, formerly at Best Buy, Curtis Mathis and Independent Consultant for Millstone Coffees. Ray made friends with everybody. He was gracious, loving, would help anybody, loved classic music, playing piano, good ole gospel hymns, Bible study, the church and to be with family and friends. He loved traveling and recently visited Branson, MO. Ray loved animals and babies always made him laugh. He enjoyed photography and will be missed by his family and friends.
Visitation: Visitation will be Wednesday 9/21/11 from 4-8pm with family present during this time.
Service: Celebration of Life will be held at Metcalf Funeral Home Chapel (245 N 27th) on Thursday 9/22/11 at 10:30am with burial at 2:30 pm at Fairbury cemetery, Fairbury, NE.

He is survived by long-time friend and roommate Keith Steineke, son Logan Marshall Harris; his father Arlen Ray Sollenberger II of Coffeyville KS; sisters Alice and husband Gary Burt of Springfield, MO; Carol and husband Lowell Otto, of Columbus NE; brother Jon and wife Tina Sollenberger, of Coffeyville KS; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother Nyla (Vinsonhaler) Sollenberger; infant sister Carolyn; Grandparents Fred and Laura Vinsonhaler; Arlen Ray I and Millicent Sollenberger; aunt Lucille Sollenberger and German-shorthair pointer, Jake.
Roma Glee Regler
Roma G. Showalter Regler, 84, of Lincoln, died Monday, September 20, 2010. She was born April 10, 1926 in Fairbury, NE to parents, Raymond and Ellen (Wright) Showalter; attended elementary school in District 62, East Bower, in Jefferson County; graduated in class of 1943 from Fairbury High School. Roma was Administrative Secretary at the University of Nebraska for 30 years and volunteered for many years at Lincoln General Hospital. She is a lifetime member of Lincoln General Hospital Auxiliary, the GRUMPS retirees from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln; former Camp Fire leader; Sunday School teacher; 50+ year member of Columbia Chapter #275, Order of the Eastern Star.
Visitation: Cremation, no visitation.
Service: Memorial Service: 3:00 p.m. Monday, September 27, 2010, at Metcalf Funeral Home, 245 North 27th St., Lincoln, NE 68503.

Carl Alvin Adams
Carl Alvin Adams died Monday, Feb. 2, 2004, at Community Hospital of McCook. He went home to the Lord after a 9-month battle with lung and brain cancer. He was 64 years old.
Carl was born March 19, 1939, at Jamestown, Kan. to Thomas Lee Glenn and Pauline (Christie) Adams. He graduated from Kirwin High School, at Kerwin, Kan., in 1958.
He married
Patricia Kay Brown. To this union three children were born, Michael, Brenda and Tammy. Patricia preceded him in death July 27, 1985.
Carl entered the U.S. Marines Feb. 25, 1960, and served during the Vietnam War. He reenlisted after his term was over and continued to serve until he was honorably discharged on Feb. 14, 1969. After his discharge, he made his home in McCook where he was employed by Klein's Motor and Electric. He retired in 2003, after 33 years of dedicated service.
On April 22, 1989, he married
Sherrel L. Gilbert in McCook and Jeffery became a part of their family in June of 1991.
He was a member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars, McCook Elks and Eagles.
Preceding him in death were his parents Thomas and Pauline Adams; his step-mother, Irene Adams in 1988; his wife, Patricia in 1985; and daughter, Tammy Winters in 2001.
Survivors include his wife, Sherrel Adams of McCook; daughter, Brenda and husband, Michael Allen of McCook; sons, Michael Adams and wife, Tracie of Ogallala and Jeffrey Adams of McCook; son-in-law, Scott Winters and wife Kris of Beatrice; one step-son, Steve Alexander of Hazelton, Kan.; a brother, Tom Adams, and wife, Bette of Leominister, Mass.; two step-brothers, Rob Stegmaier and wife, Karen of Delphos, Kan., and Arnold Stegmaier and wife, Elaine of Agra, Kan.; a sister, Marie and husband, Alan Crist of Racine, Wis.; step-sister, Anita and husband, Earl Cypher of Nevis, Minn.; father and mother-in-law, Denzel & Vesta Gilbert of McCook; two sister-in-laws, Gwen Solko and husband, Ken of McCook and Sharon Frick and husband LaVerne of Herndon, Kan.; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004, 10 a.m., at St. Alban's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Sam Williams officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery.
Visitation at the funeral home is Wednesday and Thursday 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m.- 7 p.m.

Nathan Alexander Andrews
Nathan Alexander Andrews died Friday (Feb. 13, 2004) at Community Hospital of McCook.
He was the infant son of Amber S. Retzlaff and Jeffrey R. Andrews.
He is survived by his parents Amber and Jeffrey of Benkelman; sister, Dessa Hunter; grandparents, Don and Rhonda Sheneman of Broken Bow and step-grandfather, George Atwood of Benkelman.

Millie F. (Bussard) Bailey
Millie F. Bailey, 97, died Saturday (Feb. 28, 2004) at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook.
She was born Aug. 6, 1906, to David and Mary (Howell) Bussard in Frontier County. She attended rural school in Frontier County.
On Nov. 28, 1923, she married
Ervin N. Bailey at McCook.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ervin on June 15, 1980; two sons; two daughters; two brothers; eight sisters; one grand-daughter and two grandsons.
Survivors include her children Edward Bailey of Trenton, Annabelle Ebert of McCook, Dale Bailey and wife, Beverly of Trenton, Lola Wilke and husband, Roland of Culbertson, Melvin Bailey and wife, Donna of Arapahoe, Shirley Peters and husband, Byron of McCook and Twila Olson and husband, Roger of Grand Island; 20 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Wednesday, 2 p.m., at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home with Jerry Beckenhauer officiating. Burial in Memorial Park cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.

Bess M. (Murphy) Bunnell
Bess M. Bunnell, 83, of McCook died Thursday (Feb. 19, 2004) at Bryan LGH East in Lincoln.
She was born Sept. 28, 1920, in a box car in Wyoming to Cecil and Bertha (Diemer) Murphy.
She grew up in Kansas City, Mo., and Wyoming.
On Oct. 24, 1942, she married
Ray E. Bunnell in Lander, Wyo., and moved to Trenton. They farmed for 32 years east of Trenton. Bess was living in McCook at the time of her death.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Larry; a daughter, Jeanie Steinke and husband, Kurt Steinke; a brother, Ray; and a daughter-in-law Catherine Bunnell.
Survivors include her children, Kathy and husband Bill Steinke of Culbertson, Carol and husband, Larry Vlasin of McCook, Ray Jr. and wife, Donna of Juniata, Sharon and husband, Vick Larson of Eustis, David and wife, Michelle of McCook, Laurie and husband, Jim Keeler of Lincoln, Don Bunnell of Frankfort, Ky.; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Monday, 10 a.m., at the Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook. Burial took place at the Meadow Lawn cemetery in Hamlet.
Memorials are being accepted in her name.

June Marie (Zlomke) Eschilman
June Marie (Zlomke) Eschliman, 66, died Wednesday (Jan. 7, 2004) at Community Hospital of McCook.
She was born July 10, 1937, to Ralph and Evelyn (Quick) Zlomke at Omaha. She attended school in St. Paul and Central City, and later received her GED in McCook.
On March 31, 1953, she married
Roger Eschliman at Sioux City, Iowa. To this union seven children were born.
She was employed by the Community Hospital in the 1970s and managed the office for the family business until she became ill.
She was a member of the Church of Christ in Indianola and Eastern Star in Bartley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Bill Zlomke; step-father, Harold Rice; and son-in-law, Bill White.
Survivors include her husband, Roger Eschliman of McCook; her children, Randy Eschliman and wife, Carman of McCook, Rick Eschliman and wife, Theresa of Indianola, Rodney Eschliman of McCook, Kay Lynn White of Mayock, N.C., Kathy Corder of McCook, Kimberly and husband, Glen Tietz of McCook and Rex Eschliman and wife, Jennifer of Tulsa Okla.; 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Paula and husband, Jim Carmen, of North Platte.
Funeral Service were Saturday, at Carpenter Breland Chapel with the Rev. Clark Bates officiating. Burial took place in the Indianola cemetery.

Donald William Follett
Donald William Follett, 79, died Wednesday (Feb. 25, 2004) at Heritage of Wauneta in Wauneta.
He was born April 2, 1924, to Floyd and Anna Roberta (Dudek) Follett in Palisade. He graduated from Palisade High School in 1942.
He entered the Navy on May 19, 1942 and served during World War II. He was honorably discharge March 26, 1948.
After his discharge he returned to the family farm. He continued to farm up until the time of his death.
He was a member of the Palisade American Legion, McCook Elks and Farm Bureau.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Anna Follett.
Survivors include his brother, Ralph Follett and wife, Mary of Lake Elsinore, Calif.; three sisters, Eva Pezza, Mary Lou Post and Shirley Grabast, all of Palisade.
Graveside services were Tuesday, 10:30 a.m., at Palisade cemetery with Jerry Beckenhauer officiating.
Memorials may be given in his name.

Pauline B. (Stritt) Fossen
Pauline B. Fossen, 83, of Indianola, died Tuesday (Feb. 3, 2004) at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook.
She was born March 30, 1920, to John and Anna (Lalley) Stritt in Indianola. She graduated from Indianola High School in 1936 and attended Kearney State Teachers College. She taught in Red Willow rural schools for many years. She also worked in the prisoner of war camps.
On Oct. 17, 1945, she married
Henry M."Hank" Fossen in Indianola. The couple made their home in Indianola.
She was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church and Altar Society. She was also a member of the Sunny Valley Extension Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Delbert, Leonard, Herman, Elmer and Clarence Stritt; three sisters, Viola Millard, Louise Broz and Margaret Haag; and daughter-in-law, Lavon Fossen.
Survivors include her husband, Hank Fossen of Indianola; daughter, Marcia and husband, Jeff Sughroue of Indianola; three sons, Kenneth Fossen and wife, Connie of Omaha; Clarence "Topper" Fossen of Indianola and Larry Fossen and wife, Jill of Chaska, Minn.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mass of Christian burial is Friday, 2 p.m., at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Indianola with the Rev. Nicholas Baker officiating. Interment will be in St. Catherine's cemetery.
The rosary will be recited Thursday, 7 p.m., at Carpenter Funeral Home of Indianola.
Memorials may be given in her name to the Indianola Fire and Ambulance Department.
