Harvey William Darnall, 89, of Harrisburg, died January 17, 2006. Funeral services were Jan. 21, 2006 at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Scottsbluff with the Very Reverend Gary Young and Father Ed Newbury officiating. Interment was at the West Lawn cemetery in Gering. Memorials have been established to the Good Shepherd of the Plains Episcopal Church, American Cancer Society and Banner County Vol. Fire Dept.

Emma Munoz

Emma Lena Munoz, 93, longtime Kimball resident, of died at the Kimball County Manor January 19, 2006. Funeral services were Monday, Jan. 23, 2006 at Cantrell Funeral Home in Kimball with Reverend Roger Gillming officiating. Burial was in the Kimball cemetery. Memorials may be made to either Prairie Haven Hospice or the Kimball County Manor. Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Harvey W. Darnall

Harvey W. Darnall, 89, died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2006 at Regional West Medical Center. Funeral services are pending at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff.

Sharon Kasselder

Sharon K. Kasselder, 51, of Pine Bluffs, died January 15, 2006 as the result of an automobile accident west of Bushnell. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Fri., Jan. 20, 2006 at the Pine Bluffs Baptist Church with Pastor Dan De Bryun officiating. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. Memorials may be given for an educational fund for her daughter Melisa at the First National Bank of Pine Bluffs. Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

A. H. Shamberg

Dr. A.H. Shamberg, 89, longtime Kimball resident and physician, passed away Saturday January 7th, at his home at the Las Fuentes Resort in Prescott, Arizona. A memorial service was held Jan. 10 at Ruffner-Wakelin Funeral Home in Prescott with Pastor John Luttman of Tucson officiating. A military tribute was given by American Legion Post 6. Memorial contributions may be made to Kimball County Salvation Army or the Hospital Foundation Memorial Garden.

Vera Webb

Vera G. Webb, 92, of Scottsbluff and formerly of Grand Island, died January 12, 2006 at Kimball County Hospital. Funeral services were Jan. 16, 2006 at the Chapel of Apfel Funeral Home with the Reverend Jay Vetter officiating. Burial was in Westlawn Memorial Park cemetery, Grand Island. Memorials are suggested to Prairie Haven Hospice.

Norma Dove

Norma Jean (Griggs) Dove, 75, of Eaton, CO, formerly of Banner County, died Sunday, January 1, 2006 at her home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, January 6, 2006 at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel with Pastor Ken Boston officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home between 1 and 8 p.m. Thursday. Tributes of sympathy may be left at www.dugankramer.com.

Caleb Berger

Caleb Aaron Berger was born on December 27, 2005 and entered into the eternal joy of his maker on the same day. God, in His sovereignty, chose that the gift of Caleb’s life on this earth be brief, but one for which his parents and family are very thankful. Caleb’s parents are Aaron and Elsie Berger and sister Chloe of Potter. His grandparents are Jere and Janet Gunderson of Ft. Collins, Colo. and Loren and Peggy Berger of Stapleton, Neb. Cantrell Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Naomi Cook

Naomi J. Cook, 78, of Kimball died at Kimball Health Services on† Wednesday, December 28, 2005. Cremation has taken place and graveside services will be held at a date to be announced. Memorials may be given to the family. Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Earl Cummings

Earl Cramer Cummings, Jr., of Boulder, Colo., father of Deb Crago of Kimball, died Sunday, Dec 11, 2005 in Boulder. He was 73. Survivors include his mother, of Boulder; daughter Deborah Cummings Crago of Kimball; son Doug Cummings of Mead, Colo.; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife and his father. Memorial Services were Dec. 30 at St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Longmont.

Josephine Johnston

Josephine E. Johnston, 89, died December 28, 2005, at Valley View Rehabilitation and Care Center in Saratoga, Wyoming. Mass of the Resurrection was conducted January 3, 2006, at Saint Patrick Catholic Church in Wheatland, Wyo., with Father Jan Santich and Father Robert Karnish as con-celebrants. Interment was in the Wheatland cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Johnston Family Graduate Fellowship, University of Wyoming College of Agriculture, C/O Anne Leonard, 1000 E. University Avenue, Department 3354, Laramie, Wyo., 82702. Gorman Funeral Homes Platte Chapel of Wheatland is in charge of the arrangements.

Jesse Munoz

Jesse Munoz, 74, a resident of Kimball, died at his home in Kimball on January 1, 2006. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Fri., January 6 at the Cantrell Funeral Home in Kimball with Reverend Roger Gillming officiating. Burial will be in the Kimball cemetery following the service, and Military Graveside Honors will be provided by VFW Post 2243 of Kimball. Friends can call at the funeral home on Thursday from 1 until 8 p.m. Memorials may be given to either Prairie Haven Hospice or the American Cancer Society. Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Cheryl Ann Cox, 48, went to be with the Lord on December 20, 2005. She is formerly of Kimball. She died at home following a courageous battle with cancer. Memorial services were Dec. 26, at the Church of the Indian Fellowship, Tacoma, WA.† Burial will be at a later date in Indian Valley, ID.† Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the building fund for the First Presbyterian Church of Kamiah, ID, attention Debbie Simler.

Wilma Leona Harms, 91 of Kimball died December 7, 2005 at Beverly Healthcare in Sidney. Memorial services were December 13 at the First English Lutheran Church with Pastor Dwayne Hunzeker officiating. Inurnment was in the Potter cemetery. Memorials may be made in care of the family. Cantrell Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Leila Hagen

Leila (Lee) Hagen, 81 a long time resident of Kimball, passed away quietly in her sleep at United Medical Center in Cheyenne December 7, 2005. Graveside funeral services were Saturday December 10, at the Kimball cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Cantrell Funeral Home of Kimball is in charge of arrangements.

Edward Garrett

Edward L. Garrett, 69, a longtime Kimball resident, died at Kimball Health Services on Monday, December 12, 2005. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 16, 2005 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kimball with Pastor Ken Mars officiating. Burial will follow in the Kimball cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 1-8 p.m. Memorials may be given to Kimball Health Services, Prairie Haven Hospice or St. John’s Lutheran Church. Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Flossie Dowty

Flossie Pearl Dowty, formerly of Banner County, died Monday, Dec. 5 at the Powell, Wyo., Nursing home. She was 99. Services were held at Thompson Funeral Home on Dec. 8. Graveside services followed at the Deaver cemetery.

Carol Robinson

Carol A. Robinson, 60, a resident of Bushnell, died at her home in Bushnell Nov. 24, 2005. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at Cantrell Funeral Home in Kimball with Pastor Scott Bailey of the Kimball Assembly of God Church officiating. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to the family. Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Leonard Schaeffer

The brother of Shirley Havice of Potter died Saturday. Leonard Ivan Schaeffer, 80 of Greeley, Colo. died Nov. 26, 2005 at Hospice and Palliative Care of Northern Colorado. He was born October 19, 1925 to Ivan Wayne and Daisy Mae (Campbell) Schaeffer in Elgin, Neb and raised on a farm. He served in the military as a paratrooper.

Joel Birner

Joel Birner, 73 of Sidney, died Nov. 19, 2005, near Albuquerque, N.M., en route to his home in Sidney for the holidays. He is the father of Tom Birner who is married to Cindy (Barrett) formerly of Kimball and owns Western Drug in Kimball.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Fri., Nov. 25, in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Sidney. Burial will be in the Greenwood cemetery. Visitation was Wed. until 8 p.m. at the Holechek Funeral Home in Sidney.

Memorials have been established to the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, the Cheyenne County Community Center or the Memorial Health Center Foundation.

Jason Fegler

SSG Jason Allen Fegler, 24, was killed in action in Baghdad, Iraq on Friday, November 4, 2005. Funeral services were Nov. 12, 2005 at the Banner County School in Harrisburg. Chaplain George Perry officiated. Burial with full military honors followed at the Kimball cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to the Banner County Alumni Scholarship Fund in Jason’s name. Cantrell Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.

Edward Travis

Edward Russell Travis, 86, formerly of Dix, died November 9, 2005 at Memorial Health Center in Sidney. Funeral Services were November 12 in Light Memorial Presbyterian Church in Sidney with Rev. Cathy Allen officiating. Burial was in the Dix cemetery with Graveside Military Honors. Memorials have been established to Light Memorial Presbyterian Church and the Dix cemetery. Holechek Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Myrtle Gendreau

Myrtle M. Gendreau, 86, a 16-year resident of Kimball, died Nov. 10, 2005 in Grand Junction, Colo. A service of remembrance was held Nov. 13 in Boulder. Callahan-Edfast Mortuary in Grand Junction is in charge of arrangements.

Jason Fegler

Staff Sergeant Jason Fegler, US Army, was killed in action in or near Baghdad, Iraq, on Nov. 4, 2005. He was 24. The Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Sat., Nov. 12 at Banner Co. High School in Harrisburg. Burial will be immediately following in Kimball. Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Fegler joined the Marine Corps after graduating from Banner County High School in 1999. He switched services to the US Army in January of this year to become a Special Forces Soldier.

Fegler is survived by his wife, Shianne (Smith) Fegler, US Navy, presently stationed in Virginia and formerly of Gering; a son Aiden, at home with his mother; mother Rita and step-father Eugene Snyder of Banner County; father Jim Fegler of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; grandparents, Ilo Fegler of Ogallala and Robert & Myrna Lee of Hay Springs; aunts, Judy (Greg) Allen of Ogallala, Ermadean (John) Haas of Mitchell, Linda Bradfield of Alliance, Carol (Phil) Amateis of Broadwater, Kathy (Clyde) Katen of Henderson, and Kristi (Bruce) Kutschara of Scottsbluff; great aunt Della (Merle) Hayward, of Hyannis; uncles Jerry (Brenda) Fegler of Kentucky, John (Helen) Fegler of Minnesota, Jack ( Terri) Fegler of Arizona, and Bruce (Beverly) Lee, of Hay Springs; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
