Joy D. Linzy
Joy D. (Bradt) Linzy of Capistrano Beach, Calif., died Oct. 27, 2005. Cremation has taken place. A private memorial service was held at sunset, Nov. 4, 2005 in Pine Park, Calif. Memorials may be made to the donors choice.
She was born April 28, 1926 to Calvin and Nettie (Lee) Bradt at the farm home in Weld County, Colo. She attended Larkspur Elementary School in Colorado, and graduated from Kimball County High School in 1943. She was a former member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Bushnell (now the Calvary United Methodist). She was employed in Kimball for several years, later moved to Kansas, and worked in Hutchinson.
Maxine Schneider
Maxine Schneider, 86 of Kimball, died on Fri. Nov. 4, 2005 at the Kimball County Manor.†A memorial service was Tues. Nov. 8 at the First English Lutheran Church with Pastor Dwayne Hunzeker officiating. A reception followed.†
Cremation and a private family inurnment at the Kimball cemetery took place. Memorials may be made to the Kimball School Foundation for Scholarships in care of Rollie Hager at the First National Bank, P.O. Box 670, Kimball, 69145. Maxine also requested that people plant a tree in her memory. Cantrell Funeral Home assisted the family with the arrangements.
James R. French
James French, 84, a native of Dix, died Oct. 15, 2005 in Tracy, Calif. A memorial service was Oct. 22 and internment was private.
Born in Dix on Sept. 21, 1921, he graduated from Chadron College and served as a navy communications officer in WWII, and participated in the liberation of Guam during the Pacific Campaign.
Cecilia Shandera
Cecilia DeWispelare Shandera, 102 and formerly of this area, died on Sat., October 21, 2005 at the United Medical Center in Cheyenne, Wyo. Funeral services were Oct. 26, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Pine Bluffs, Wyo., with burial in the Pine Bluffs cemetery.
She was born Jan. 15, 1903 at David City, Neb. the third of nine children of Joe and Eugenia Vervynck DeWispelare, Belgian immigrants who came to America in 1900.
Charley E. Ramsey
Charley Ramsey, 54, of Dix died at his home Oct. 18, 2005.
Funeral services were Oct. 22, 2005 at Cantrell Funeral Home with Pastor Virgil Johnson officiating. Inurnment was at the Dix cemetery. Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
He was born on February 7, 1951 in Borger, TX; the son of Gerold and Alicia (Adams) Ramsey. He moved with his family at an early age to Dix. He attended school in Kimball and Dix and graduated from the Dix High School. He was married
to Dixie Ann Evans on Nov. 7, 1968 in Harrisburg.
Susette Dohse
Susette "Susy" L. Dohse, 50, of Kimball, died at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff Oct. 12, 2005. Funeral services were Sat., Oct. 15 at the Kimball Presbyterian Church. Burial was in the Kimball cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, Nebraska Children's Home or the Kimball Presbyterian Church. Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Helen V. Amsberry
Helen Virginia Amsberry passed away at UMC in Cheyenne October 7th 2005. She was born August 23, 1919. A Memorial Service was held Oct. 10 at Albin Baptist Church, Pastor Don Blomberg officiated. Funeral and burial services.
Rollin Raleigh
Rollin L. Raleigh, 73 died August 6, 2005 in Lincoln, Neb. from complications of an incurable blood disease. He was the companion of Marge Evans, of Kimball, for 19 years.
He was cremated with inurnment Aug. 24 in Turlock Memorial Park.
He was born August 19, 1931 in Merced, Calif. to Gordon and Elizabeth Raleigh and the family later settled in Turlock, where Rollin graduated from high school in 1950. He attended Modesto Jr. College, receiving an Associate of Arts degree.
Victor Schneider
Victor “Vic” Schneider, 84, a lifetime Kimball resident died at the Kimball County Manor on Oct. 9, 2005. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Thurs., Oct. 13 at the First English Lutheran Church in Kimball with Pastor Dwayne Hunzeker officiating. Burial will be in the Kimball cemetery. Military graveside honors will be preformed by VFW Post 2243.
Visitation was at the funeral home Wed. until 8:00 p.m.†Memorials may be given to First English Lutheran Church, Prairie Haven Hospice, or Kimball County Manor. Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Everett Wagner
Everett James Wagner, 75, of Kimball died Thurs. Sept. 15, 2005 at Kimball Health Services. A Memorial Service will be Mon., Sept. 19 at 11 a.m. at Allnutt Macy Chapel, 702 13th St. in Greeley, Colo. with Rev. Roger Gillming officiating.
There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials may be made to the Kimball Future Farmers of America Chapter, 901 Nadine, Kimball, 69145 or to the Charity of the donor’s choice. Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Ralph Cross
Former Banner County resident Ralph Cross died at his home in Sheridan, Wyo., Sept. 16, 2005. He was born June 7, 1937, to Harvey and Coral Cross. He is survived by his wife, Sandy; son, Justin of Washington; sisters, Irene Coen, Betty Hacker, Janie Necessary and Janice Wynne. He was preceeded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Verda Allison
Verda Anna Allison, 77 of Kimball, died September 11, 2005 at the Kimball County Manor.
Funeral services will be Saturday, September 17, 2005 at 10 a.m at the Cantrell Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dwayne Hunzeker officiating. Burial will be in the Dix Rural cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, September 16 from 1-8 p.m. The casket will be closed for the service. Memorials may be made to the Dix Rural cemetery. Cantrell Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Iris Austin
Iris Austin died peacefully at home on September 4, 2005, following a long illness.
Memorial Services were held at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Salem September 12, 2005. Memorials may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church, Willamette Valley Hospice or the charity of your choice.

Durango Holaday
Durango Martin Holaday, newborn son of Mark and Elizabeth "Liz" Holaday of Kimball, died Saturday, September 3, 2005 at the Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Neb.
Memorial services will be Friday, 11:00 a.m. at St. Albin Chapel in Snowy Range Wyoming with the Rev. James Schumacher officiating. Directions to St. Albin Chapel are 7 miles past Centennial turn right at the Mt. Meadows Cabin sign approximately one mile.
Janice L. Janicek
Janice Janicek, 76, of Meridian, Idaho, died Friday, September 9, 2005. A memorial service will be held today (Thursday) at 10 a.m. at The Chapel of the Chimes in Meridian.
A memorial has been established to the Meridian Senior Center, 133 West Broadway Ave., Meridian, 83642.
Alma Mihm
Alma Sophia Mihm, of Kimball, died Sept. 11, 2005 at Kimball Health Services. She is the mother Linda Mihm, of Kimball, and had lived here with her daughter for two years.
Funeral services will be Friday Sept. 16 in Indianola, Neb. at 2 p.m. at St. Catherine Catholic Church. Carpenter-Breland Funeral Home in McCook is in charge of arrangements.
A Memorial Service will be in Kimball St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Thurs. Sept. 22, at 7 p.m. with refreshments after the service.
