Laura June Pointer
Laura June Pointer, 92, Littleton, Colo., formerly Weeping Water, died Tuesday (7/21/2009) peacefully at St. John's Hospice, Lakewood, Colo.
Laura was born in Unadilla, Neb. on November 4, 1916, to G.W. and Bettie (Cinda) Johnson.
She was a homemaker and attended Ascension Lutheran Church.
Laura is survived by two daughters, Lorine (Delwin) Garu, Littleton, Colo.; Colleen (Marion) Weideman, Omaha; son, Jerry (Dorothy) Pointer, Elmwood; eight grandchildren and spouses; two step granddaughters and spouses; 12 great-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; four sisters; former husband, Edgar Pointer; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Pointer; and grandson, Kevin Pointer.
Funeral Service 10:30 a.m. Saturday (7/25/2009) at the United Methodist Church, Weeping Water, with Sandy Webster officiating.
Visitation 1-8 p.m. Friday (7/24/2009) with family greeting friends 6-8 p.m. at Hammons Funeral Chapel, Weeping Water.
Interment at Oakwood cemetery, Weeping Water.

Viola M. Wagener
Viola M. Wagener, 81, Lincoln, formerly Overton, widow of Henry, 81, died Wednesday (7/22/2009) at her home in Lincoln.
She was born March 13, 1928, at Montgomery City, Mo. to Everett and Myrtle M. (Eaton) Frank.
She married
Henry Wagener on February 14, 1946, at St. Charles, Mo.
They traveled with the dam building crew through Iowa and Nebraska for three years.
When the children came, they settled in Missouri until 1955 and then moved to rural Dawson County, Neb., eventually settling in Overton.
After the death of Henry, Viola moved to Lincoln to live with her daughter, Carol.
She loved her flower gardens, painting, cooking and collecting, but, mostly she loved her family.
She was active in garden clubs, grand generation centers and the Overton Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Bobbie Lee, Eugene and Marvin; and her beloved husband of 60 years.
She is survived by son, Phillip Wagener; and daughters, Linda (Richard) Thornton and Carol Wagener; sister, Elsie (Al) Lott; brothers, Carl Frank and Joe Frank; six grandchildren: Curt (Cassie) Wagener; Brad (Chrissy) Wagener; Jeremy (Tana) Wagener; Ryan (Christina) Wagener; Zach Wagener and Kelsi Wagener; eight great-grandchildren; and many friends and distant relatives.
Funeral Services 10 a.m. Saturday (7/25/2009) at the Christian Church, Overton, with Pastor Dean Pofahl officiating.
Burial: Overton cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Overton Rescue Unit.
